[GUIDE]Convert Docomo SO-05G to SGP771 - Xperia Z4 Tablet General

After several attempt, i managed to install SGP771 LTE firmware on my SO-05G Ntt DoCoMo tablet.
First, mine is already unlock simcard from dealer, i dont know the procedure to unlock so dont ask. After install SGP771 fw, its running with no problem, simcard still accepted, LTE work.
I will not go detail on how to use Flashtool, xperifirm or driver install etc, since these things a common for Xperia users.
Here is the stock modified ftf to use with flashtool, its based on Hongkong 32.4.A.1.54:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wvlKuHDhgEZ6HwLwJZe0zpQiJPd7YgAN/view?usp=sharing
Open flashtool, after choose firmware to flash, tick the following option:
WIPE: APP_LOGS, DIAG, USERDATA
EXCLUDE: AMSS_FSG, AMSS_FS_1, AMSS_FS_2, B2B, FOTAKERNEL, MODEM, PARTITION-IMAGE
Then flash like normal.
Goodluck. :fingers-crossed:

Using it for a while now, no problem at all, except the device seem a little bit warmer while running heavy games.

Thank you.

Very cool to see somebody do something new with these. The hardware is still superb; it's such a pity that the software was abandoned while it was still so young. I'd love to see Oreo or Pie on these.

Me too I've three of them and would love to see some noble soul port recent version of Android.

Nice trick. I hope it works with my phone too. Which version of flashtool did you use? and did you modify the FTF in any way?

can you guide me to update firmwares
I recently used Sony Z4 tablet Docomo. I don't know how to update the firmware. Can you guide me?

SO-05G can't unlock the bootloader. It means it was not same as SGP771.

How about the NFC? Is it still works??

the link are broken, any mirror?

Hi, first of all, I'm new at XDA, so I really apologise
Recently, I bought a second hand Docomo z4 tablet from my friend. He bought it when he attend his education at japan about 3-4 years-ish ago. The tablet had a signal issue for about 6 months [no signal but the card is detected], so he sold for cheap. It was a nice deal for me [$100 with a cheap bluetooth keyboard], as I need a tablet/laptop for working on my papers asap [mine was stolen] where the problem was a non issue [still have my trusty nokia candybar].
Mostly, it runs fine, great even, but when I open my a bit big research project, it was chugging a bit. My friend said to try root or install linux/lineageos as it has less bloatware and newer android version [to bad I found that lienageos for z4 tablet was dropped ]. I was searching far and wide on how to root this tablet, but apparently mine was unable to be rooted [Bootloader unlock allowed: no]. I have tried almost everything like software repair using sony pc companion using my friend's pc but no luck whatsoever.
I am really curious, will flashing this change the bootloader unlock status to yes? or uninstalling the bloatwares? or this is just modifying the model number to show SGP771 instead SO-05g?
Thank you kindly

No, this rom will not change the bootloader unlock state. But it will transform your device to global version, without Japanese bloatwares.
The rom itself is official SGP771's rom, i'm only modified the flash code to make it flashable on SO-05G.

Need help to convert
Hi, thank you for this rom, It's work well, but I got little problem, do you have a way to convert back from SGP to Docomo, the problem is, since I use this rom, I got ghost touch under the front camera, I think because the tablet become quite warmer, appreciate your help.

UK Tesco Device - Unlock & Stock ROM

Just posting my experience of getting a fresh Moto G 16GB that was Tesco purchased - unlocked and to Stock.
I linked to the XDA thread by t-bon3 - which is a great guide.
Here is how it went for me.
First issue that the device is locked to tesco sim cards.
Note: you are not unlocking the bootloader or adding root to the system.
The phone will be exactly as if you bought it from retail, just you got it subsided by Tesco.
I choose these guys to get an unlock code - they seemed professional - I avoid ebay & paypal.
http://www.unlockunit.com/unlock-motorola-moto-g?var=tel
Form filling.......
Phone Model : *Moto G*
Country & Network : *United Kingdom - Tesco Mobile*
IMEI: *XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX*
E-mail: *YourEmail*
I then got 3 Emails.
1: Confirm Order
2: Confirm Payment
3: Unlock code (came 11 minutes after I paid)
There were 2 unlock codes - I put a non-tesco SIM in and was greeted with the prompt - the first code worked.
Then after that I followed this guide to Install the UK Retail firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47820707
Files From here
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
I used this one
Android 4.3
Blur_Version.14.71.8.falcon_umts.Retail.en.GB
*Retail UK*
407.3 MiB
40FD34F930D9ADD3AB3F65B5A23FCD00
Simple task, enable USB debugging, reboot into fastboot, run script, reboot.
Now just to wait for the Over The Air 4.4.2 update that is due any day for the UK phones.

I agree I paid too much.. no going back now.
However I disagree that using a Pseudo Stock Rom is superior to flashing an actual stock ROM
I've repacked the UK ROM with the necessary tools to convert a branded device (e.g. Tesco) to a generic device.

Wrong.
It is a full stock UK ROM. It wouldn't install if it wasn't.
In this case, repacked means adding the proper Moto fastboot tool, and a .bat file to automate the commands.
Appreciate the post, Tesco phone now on stock and unlocked via ebay..... cheers all.

Exactly, just does the long winded way from one simple command.
Actually, there is one error in the simple way, if you can call it that, he doesn't say you need to enable usb debugging before you start which might be confusing for noobs.
You don't need to enable it.
Put phone in fastboot, run .bat
Do you guys know if I can flash the US retail rom on my Canadian Koodo Moto g with the bootloader locked?
Try it and see, worst case scenario is it falls to install.

Not necessarily
My stock rom is not available yet so I would have to unlock the bootloader if it doesn't work. I want to keep my warranty. I will wait it out if I have to.

[HOW TO]Bring back your X-reality under unlocked BL

Hey guys!
Some of you maybe experiencing a X-REALITY lose after BL unlock(mostly).I just found a way to fix this problem.I`m not a coder or developer,so I`ll make it easy.
1.Whatever firmware you`re on,first backup all your files from the build-in storage, the next steps will delete all of them.
2.Use flashtool`s BLU function to relock the BL (IMPORTANT!)
3.Flash the official FW17.1.A.2.69 (MUST BE!)
4.After initial boot, you get your X-reality back with locked BL
5.Now use flashtool unlock the BL again (If you boot into the system, you`ll find X-reality still functional)
6.Proceed install the recovery kernel via fastboot, then the roms you like
7.Now you have a fully functional X-reality with a custom rom.
For developers,things to be noticed:
When I flashed official FW17.1.A.2.69 under locked BL via flashtool, at the end of flash log I found an extra rewriting operation
to the TA file comparing to the FW17.1.1.A.0.402 (which there was no logs). The unlock and relock action rewrites
the TA file,so I thought it`s all about the TA file.No matter what rom or kernel you use.
Hope this would help you guys develop sth.
Tested environment:
D6503
Official FW17.1.1.A.0.402 rooted
RomAur v3.1
Official FW17.1.1.A.0.402 kernel
Doomlord kernel V09

Personally, I don't see the big deal with X-Reality. Wouldn't people want to know what the picture looks like on all devices not just their own? Maybe it's just me.
I also don't get why so many want to have something that makes everything look wrong. I'd prefer if I could use my screen calibration tool and have applied to the system.
Sent from my D6503 using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Obviously Sony gives us this function isn`t a waste. It`s a useful stuff viewing pics or videos.
I don`t take much attention about the color "accurate" or "reduction",afterall,it`s just a mobile phone display.
Of course you could disable it if you don`t like those colorish style, but it`s good to have this function rather than not.
No offense mate, it`s just like foods, some of you maybe like sweety things, others like hot things.
Actually, I quite like X-Reality. It gives a very nice colour rendering, not crazy like AMOLED but a nice subtle colour boost and looks amazing, especially when watching YouTube videos.
Bump!!
Well done OP for finally figuring it out!
Tested on two occasions and this method works 100%.
Thanks again.

X reality is horrible for video, cause ghosting and make things look grainy, they should just include an option for jpeg only.
I don't know if I can be arsed trying to recovery X-Reality, I've just spent all afternoon configuring my phone again.
What's the easiest way to back up all my settings then so I can do this install method? Is it worth restoring my TA first?

Hello there.. Well this is my first ever post on XDA and to be honest I just made an account to THANK YOU for your marvelous achievement regarding this Bootloader disease. I was on .314 with unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, everything was working fine untill I came to notice after a month that X-Reality is not working since I unlocked the damnloader. I have been nearly searching web for more than 10 hours yet no luck whatsoever to get back the X-Reality function. And then I found your thread and took me 2 more hours to find that Taiwan firmware and download it. Anyways to cut short, the whole process you have described works perfectly and Thankyou sooooo much once again for giving me my X-Reality back :good:  Now I can see .402 OTA in my notifications and gona try to update from there...

Its just like installing a custom rom yet its not a custom rom just stock with pre root access. if you have rooted before and have twmp or philz touch whiz recovery just install it from the recovery option wiping Dalvik and Cache and then installing this zip then reboot system and you're good to go. shouldn't be hard follow some guides on youtube if you don't know.
what if i have never rooted before?? because ive got a locked bootloader with 100% stock rom and havent flashed any custom stuff... all i did was get the phone from vodafone and then i flashed the uk firmware (same as the one you have minus the root)

Nice work with the Flashable zip.
Apart from the inclusion of the 'clear all recents' button what else is improved upon, or not forgotten, in comparison to the earlier Lollipop updates?
My Z2 is still showing V 23.1.A.0.726 ready for downloading but so far I've resisted this so-called upgrade, its too half-baked. I'm still on KitKat until I get more feedback on this being a better attempt at an upgrade.
What are your impressions so far?

Well since ive been using it daily I found that the battery has been draining fast soon as I take it off charge its down to 98 percent already I have lollipop ? on my moto g doesn't drain this fast. I was getting issues with keyboard on z2. This seems to fix that bug. Haven't noticed any other changes so far just seems to be minor bug fixes.

thx for the zip
So, as I understand
move the zip to my sd card,
flash from recovery( my Z2 is 17.1.1.a.0.402 root with dual recovery) the zip and that is?????
nothing else?
Do I need flashtool or everything else?
i am asking bcause I saw other guides that said at the end to flash with flashtool the ftf fimware:
like step 11 at following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155

I've noticed when i was using the stock rom (1000000% uk stock with no extras) i could get around 3/4 days battery life which includes having the bluetooth on all day connected to my helmet and sbh52 and after i installed this im getting half that xD....
So the increased battery consumption is another reason to stay away from this. I get plenty of usage on KitKat, thats with BT and Wifi on nearly all of the time.
From all the negative aspects I've read about Lollipop on the Z2 it seems like its anything but an upgrade.

ZE601KL CN to WW or working Google Services/Apps etc

Hello all
I've read loads of articles but can't seem to get a straight answer or find the relevant boot/recovery img
Is there a way to flash WW (specifically the latest official WW_V1.16.40.1524) firmware to replace CN on a ZE601KL.
If not is there a method to flash working Gapps. Failing that I might be convinced to go with Custom ROM.
If anyone was successful with any of the above on the ZE601KL CN version please let me know and point me to any files i would need, would be much appreciated.
I've been sent the CN version of the ZE601KL which had Google services working but the phone kept turning off/not booting so I flashed the latest FW CN_V1.16.40.1338
I'm a bit hesitant at the moment to experiment too much and I quite like the current CN firmware, camera is much improved from the original FW installed just no Gapps. Bought the phone from Gearbest who did refund me $100 and I got to keep the phone for the inconvenience so at the moment a working phone is better than a bricked one.
Many Thanks

Hello all
I've read loads of articles but can't seem to get a straight answer or find the relevant boot/recovery img
Is there a way to flash WW (specifically the latest official WW_V1.16.40.1524) firmware to replace CN on a ZE601KL.
If not is there a method to flash working Gapps. Failing that I might be convinced to go with Custom ROM.

CN versions has a slightly smaller /system partition which doesn't allow to flash WW firmware
You have to flash a "custom" /system if you want gapps

Thanks Luca I'll have a look but on ithe CyanogenMod site it states teZE601KL is not supported but I might just take that gamble.
To paparas64, I updated the FW since mine would shut down for no reason. this still happens but not as often.
If yours doe not switch off automatically don't update FW this voids warranty even with official rom. They have somehow loaded google to work on the FW provided. I'm not sure they stand a chance legally on the warranty issue or the fact they seem to have modded the FW or sideloaded gapps. They offered a few options but to keep the phone with $100 back was less effort than returning to China hoping a fix may become available

would you be able to confirm if ZE601KL is supported or will work. I have also not used Snapdragon processors before do these require ARM platform for apps as in your link.
Thanks

Thanks again Luca
Can you let me know how much the loudspeaker is not working. Does this prevent ringtones, alarms, calls and media. If its only media I would likely use this rom.
Also is the camera fw and software based on the ze601kl stock since I do like the camera functions and UI.
Many thanks

Hi! I'm new in XDA. I need help.
I tryed change from CN firmware to WW.
In the process, the installation gets stuck in "Patching system image unconditionally"...
Now, I have no OS, and I can't use the phone!
Please help me to install any ROM whichs works on my phone.
It's a Zenfone 2 Laser ZE601KL CN version.
Thanks you!

Android 11 decreased my SOT by close to 2 or 2.5 hours. Wanting to flash back to Android 10 (HELP)

So I just bought a used Galaxy s10 Plus on eBay. I was getting amazing battery life and great SOT but I was forced to download Android 11 by force update and now my SOT has gone down almost 2.5 hours from when it was previously running on Android 10. I despise having to deal with these issues even though its a used phone. On the SamMobile website I found the correct PDA G975U1UES5GUD1 but I can't find the CSC code on my phone and I am afraid I will flash the wrong firmware and damage the phone.
How can I Find the CSC code on my phone? The device is been used on Verizon prepaid via Red Pocket Mobile and its Factory GSM and CDMA unlocked. I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.
Thank you so much in advance.
Hello there, you are talking about the consumer software customization code right?

If you are you can find it by dialing *#1234# on the dial app. But i think it is VZW since you've said the carrier is Verizon.

Seems like this is it since your carrier is Verizon. You are residing in the US, right?

You won't damage your phone if they mismatch, probably only carrier settings would break
But the link I gave according to that you are having Verizon as the carrier and you are living in the US when you got force OTA update then it’ll match.
That's if you can go back.
Doesn't 11 update the boot loader version too?
Well yeah now that you mention it probably.
Hmm, but there should be a way of degrading the software even so.

If he uses Odin he can downgrade fine enough,
Unfortunately, I think he'll lose his data though.
I haven't downgraded from One UI 3.0 before since I only got a A21s.

I'm still running Pie. It's what I've been seeing here about the 11 update updating the boot loader too. Maybe that's OTA upgrades only.
Not a concern of mine though.
Data loss is a given... at least be prepared for it.
Yeah, I agree since I'm still running 10 Idk really about bootloader changes from 10-11.
But if that's the case then Its probably impossible to downgrade without getting a bricked phone.
Doublecheck the bootloader version code of both versions of android so you don't brick your phone.
This is starting to sound too risky I do appreciate everyones help on this post honestly but at this point I am not going to risk messing up a $330 phone. But thank you all for making things clear.

Yeah hopefully thank you for your help tho. Appreciate it.
No problem, but if the kernel hasn't changed the ROM can be downgraded. If it has you can just take it to Samsung and ask them to downgrade for you.
My friend did that.
