Fire HD 10 Question - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have seen this today by Amazon Fire HD 10 Gen 7 (2017):
https://www.amazon.de/Zertifiziert-...m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_r=VXSATV8TXBW4HXABD5VB
I have a Question for 89 € can i use it as a normal Tablet without Special Offers and can I run the Google Playstore on it?
Is it on Generation 7 able to remove Special offers and install Playstore
I need a cheap Tablet for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Skygo
Also i would like to play some Games like Punch Club should run on it

Yes, this tablet is perfect. And you can easy root it with k4y0z method or diplomatic's method.

Thanks and how i can remove the Special Offers?

I'm not sure if this applies to newer models, but on my HD8 2016 if you never register to Amazon you never get special offers. I haven't seen one ad since I've owned it.

There are 4 ways To remove the ads, With root, you can uninstall them. A program called automate, and from what I seen through a Amazon customer service chat. Or pay the extra money.

What is the Best Way to remove this and can tell me anyone, i would like to use Prime Video ,Skygo, Netflix with this Tablet also i would like to use the normal Play Store, so whats the Best way for it?
Anyone know can I made a Custom Rom on this Tablet? is it able? Lineage OS

No at this time there is no Custom ROM available.

I have never gotten ads on any amazon tablet I have owned that had special offers. The only tablet I have ever registered with Amazon is my old 8.9. Sometimes it made downloading the OTA easier.

So i shouldn´t register the Tablet and cancel the First Wirless Lan Access right?
I would like to install Playstore and my favorit Game and Netflix,Skygo and something more Apps.
Guys, before i make any changes, can i make a full backup for warranty that i can just go to restore Orignal Amazon FW without root or any changes

My suggestion is to ask amazon to remove them if you have the ad's. You don't need root to install the play store or apps you seem to be interested in. To make a full backup, you need to be rooted. But looking at what you want to do, just fire it up and use it. There is currently nothing preventing you from changing your mind and deciding to root. I don't like automate cause it is an application being used in the background. Many have reported that just contacting or emailing amazon has got their ads removed. Worst case is they charge you 10-15$ and credit is back from what the thread said. Check out the thread under general. If you don't register you wont have access to the amazon stuff (amazon video, amazon app store, and etc.

Custom Rom's - Can I still use Amazon services (ie. watch Amazon video, read books)?

Do I lose the functionality of using Amazon services, if I were to use CM or MIUI? I realize that the ootb KF is tightly integrated with Amazon services, but what functionality will I lose going to a custom rom? I do want to read books I purchase from Amazon or elsewhere (I assume the Kindle Reader app would work for that) and possibly use the Amazon Video from time to time (may work within a browser?). Sorry if this has been gone over before?
Thanks.

Anyone? I am looking for a cut and dry answer, nothing elaborate. Thanks.
You can download the kindle app that is available for all android phones. It's not as pretty as the stock one, but you have access to your books. Though, amazon did just recently update its iPad Kindle app, so there's hope in that department. As far as video, I think one or two people claim to have it working, and a how-to is in the CM7 thread (I think), but I was not able to get it to work.
TL;DR - Books, yes; Video, no
EDIT - LOOK HERE
Sorry, didn't really read the whole post. You are absolutely correct. Kindle app works, and I believe browser Amazon Prime works with a User Agent set to Desktop. Hope that helps!

[VIDEO REVIEW] First Look at the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7" Tablet

In this video, I go over the camera, video playback, audio books, and a few other fun items.
Before you ask....
Yes, I loaded apk files on here that you would not normally be able to get from Amazon's Appstore. Most worked with no problems.
Nice review... the best that I have seen so far (inc the Verge etc)
Hey just wanted to say thanks for the review. I was on the fence about this and you sold me with the side loading ability. I loved the original Fire, and was looking forward to this. But after reading a few posts about it being locked, and now knowing if it will be rooted I was no longer sure about it. So side loading makes a huge difference.

The Play Store requires files to be manually placed into the /system/app folder and the permissions to be changed. That requires root. All of the other apps were either grabbed from my Nexus 7, or found elsewhere. I downloaded ES File Explorer from the Amazon Appstore, and used it to install the apks.
No PAID apps were harmed in the making of this video.

Can you side load a paid app you got from the play store and still pass the licence check?

Thanks for the great review !
The two apps I'm most interested in getting to work on a Kindle Fire HD are Google Maps and Google Now. I know there's no gps but I assume there is some kind of wifi based location ability ? Or just tell Google Maps where I am.
I figure maps shouldn't be too hard, what do you think ? I guess Google Now might require rooting though, is that the case ?
The device itself is pretty sick. But it's still stuck in Amazon's crappy software. It's like putting rims and ground effects on a Pinto; either way, it's still a Pinto.
Thanks for the review - I would like to see how the ComiXology app works but the fact that sideloading works takes a great load off my mind.
I'm definitely going to save up for the 8.9".

None of the Google Apps are going to work until we get root.
Be patient.
Can you tell me if Apex works if you just install the apk?
How did you get the camera launcher? Thanks

I obtained a camera app from the Play Store on another device, then I took the apk and installed it on my KFHD.

Just won a Kindle Fire HD on eBay which gives registration error ... work around?

I just won and paid for it today (hasn't shipped yet) a Kindle Fire HD that receives the message "There was an error while registering your Kindle. Please try again later" when trying to register it on an Amazon account. It didn't have any bidders so I bid cheap and one thinking there must be a fix for it so I can register it with my Amazon account. So could I do it?
If not I can still root and put a customer ROM on it and access the Play Store right? I would like it to work with my Amazon account too though as I have a lot of books purchased from there.
So what is the prognosis for this?
Yes, that sounds like it will be easily fixable with a custom ROM, but it also sounds like you may never be able to register that Kindle on stock OS.

Unless you pick Kinology, there is no real "registering it with Amazon" on a custom ROM. You will be able to download the Amazon Appstore just fine and log in, if that's what you were wondering.
Sent from my Amazon Tate using Tapatalk
If you really wanted to use the stock software or Kinology, you could spend about $35 and get a new motherboard, and swap it out with the old one. Once you power it on for the first time with the new motherboard, Amazon will think it's a different Kindle, and let you register it.
A bit of a drastic step, but... it works.

Hi, removing other amazon apps helped, i finally got underground store working.
Before I had Prime Video Launcher with Amazon VOD running. If I now try to install the Prime Video Launcher including Amazon VOD, I get an error for Amazon VOD.
Is it not possible to run both?
Thanks

Some games are free and cost you money on Google.
E.g. Beach Buggy Blitz. Free on both but the Amazon version is fully loaded with split screen 2-4 players and all levels.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic $9.99 on Goolge Play. $0 on AU.
Riptide GP2. Google $2.99. Amazon $0.
Don't get me wrong I love Google and dislike the Amazon Ecosystem but...
How do you run Amazon instant video I can't get it too show all content and it tells me to install something but fails so I click later to bring me to menu of the instant video

I believe all I did was was install it from here.

It is, you can have a look here.
Otherwise, on my side using the StockRestyle ROM, I managed to have both using the version 2.0.45.1210 of Instant Video. Important: I installed both of them first, and only then launched them one after the other.
The links were removed?
Why does amazon get to remove links from this forum? Can you link to a forum that doesn't have such stupid restrictions? All it was trying to do was help amazons services run better on this device. I guess that it would be in there interest for it not to work because then maybe you would buy one of their tablets instead... but to let them remove links? Seems really bad.

How to get in app ads to work on games installed from Google play on Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro 2021 Release on the kids profile?

I just recently purchased an Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2021 release) for my son who is almost 8. I sideloaded Google Play on it so I could download the games I pay for each month or have made a one time payment for. Everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that my son has downloaded some games from Google play that have in app ads to watch to help further game play and they will not load. When you try to click the button to watch the ad nothing happens. I've tried searching for a resolution to this but I'm not finding a whole lot. I've tried to download the games that have the in app ads from the Amazon store but sadly most are not available through Amazon. This wouldn't be such a big issue except for the fact that my son has Autism level 3 and doesn't understand why the ads aren't working. Explaining it to him doesn't help because he doesn't have the ability to understand it. It's just resulting in him getting super frustrated and thinking I'm doing something to prevent his game from working. I've seen posts from people asking about this issue but no one seems to have an answer on how to fix it or if it's even fixable. Is there a way to get these in app ads to work on side loaded games? The only reason I even bought this tablet was because it gives my son more freedom to do stuff while keeping him out of the things he shouldn't be in. We had a heck of a time keeping him out of stuff on other tablets as he's able to get out of all kid launchers we've tried and other security measures. Someone please tell me there's a way to fix this!
Did you ever find an answer to this problem? I'm hoping we can get some ads on ours as well.

Sorry for the late reply. No, I still haven't found a resolution to this. The in app ads work on many of the games that are downloaded but some they just won't load on. My son loves the game Sand Balls and both versions of that game we're having this problem on among some others. I have tried searching every where for a resolution to this but have only found very few mentions of it with no fix. One person said that there was no fix for it at the time they were commenting but it was an old post so I was hoping someone figured it out by now but I guess not. Have you had any luck since you replied?

I had been looking for an answer for this myself as well as a way to make the Fire a bit more "regular" Android-y vs. Amazon's Android. This past weekend I put Fire Toolbox on my (Windows) computer - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/windows-tool-fire-toolbox-v30-2.3889604/ . Through this I disabled the Amazon Appstore which helped some of my games be able to utilize the extra in-app functionality (as well as open app store page links with Google Play Store instead of opening the Amazon App Store). With that said, I checked a couple old games I used to play and one still said no ads available (though if I clicked again, I still got the reward for it) and another game that still wouldn't let me click them.
I don't know if disabling Amazon App Store would screw things up for you/your son and how you get your apps, but if not, it might be worth a try? Or, if it doesn't work, maybe there's something else that can be disabled via Fire Toolbox that can help? I haven't had much chance to dive into it yet to see if I could get those other in-app ads to work or not yet, but thought I'd pass along what I've found so far in case you're still trying to find a solution.
