Has anyone had issues with USB camera? - Moto G4 Play Questions & Answers

Hi,
I recently purchased an endoscope camera. https://www.banggood.in/7mm-6-LED-Micro-USB-OTG-IP67-Endoscope-Inspection-Borescope-Camera-for-Android-PC-5M-p-1193755.html?akmClientCountry=IN&channel=onesignal&utm_source=onesignal&utm_medium=mail_appcheckin_page&utm_campaign=trigger_push_prdshare_copy&utm_content=serein&utm_design=19&_branch_match_id=564850463854283826&cur_warehouse=CN
Its companion app is Camera Fi
However, when I plugged the camera and opened the app, the app does not seem to recognize the device. There is refresh button in the ui somewhere; on clicking, it says, "please connect camera device". However, I performed the exercise on my friend's phone, but worked.
I have a Moto G4 Play running Android Nougat (7.1.1). Friend's phone is Lenovo (don't remember the exact model) running Android Nougat (7.0)
Is this a known hardware issue for Moto G4 Play phones

Android wear & MM

Hi
This is really a warning to anyone who has an Android wear (or probably any other kind of smartwatch)
My Gear LIve and LG Watch R worked perfectly with KK and Lollipop but with MM 522 it just would not work properly at all
i worked with a dev of one of the apps and it was only the Huawei with MM that caused any problems and notifications were just not getting to the watch
MM on a samsung worked no trouble and going back to 5.1.1 on the M7 again worked perfect
I liked MM but i didnt see that much difference to being worth keeping without the watch
So if you are planning on Upgrading and have a smartwatch then you will have issues
I am now back on 5.1.1 and rooted and all works fine
I have Asus ZenWatch 2 and it works with B522 properly. Only issue I have noticed is infrequent unconnecting, about twice a week. But I just run Android Wear app and watch is connected again.
I must admit I'm surprised that's is working OK for you add the tests we got when trying to resolve the issues were all down to huawei and the non standard calls they make and the permissions issues that were occurring
The doze feature in mm seemed to be conflicting with huawei's own features and stopping a lot of the notifications getting through even though those apps were set to protected.
It also seemed to be an issue with 1 app calling another appointment and again even though that permission was granted it still gave us issues.
But I suppose in the end every setup is different and in all honesty I don't think mm was a great step up grim lollipop anyway or at least not on the huawei

I have a Samsung Gear S2 Classic and since I installed MM on my MT7-L09, Samsung Gear app will not not load, it just opens and closes in a flash.
The only way to make it work is to switch off the Bluetooth on the phone, then open the Samsung Gear App, and press connect from the app. This will switch the Bluetooth back on, connects to the watch and the app works.
Weird and very frustrating until I figured out a workaround!

I have a moto 360 2nd gen and works with no issues what so ever with MM, if anything it has become more reliable so it may just be a conflict with particular manufacturers?

I've got the first gen Moto 360. when I updated to MM my watch at didn't receive any notifications (even the test ones). I did a factory reset and everything works fine now. The only issue I have is that sometimes the Gmail app pushes a ton of notifications for the same email.

Help me with my issue regarding internal audio recognition

Hello guys,
I've recently bought this phone Motorola Moto g4 Plus and everything was fine. Until 1 day I cloned my old phone's apps into new one.
I had Sony's TrackID, which I use to search for tracks that were playing on radio. Even in this phone it worked great with external speakers. But when I plugged in earphones, it couldn't recognize a single track. Instead it popped up an error stating that it cannot hear any audio.
Since then I've tried Shazam, SoundHound, etc. These apps work great through my speakers. But fail every time when I plug in my earphones. Same error pops up saying there's no audio. Hoping for a solution from XDA.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. - I've tried reinstalling all the apps (Shazam, SoundHound). My phone's running on latest android build, Marshmallow 6.0.1
My phone is not rooted. I don't want to root it as I already use a rooted phone.
Have you get it fixed? I've been having the same issue

FeiyuTech Vimble 2 Gimbal and OnePlus 5

Has anyone one got around to using their OnePlus 5 with a gimbal?
I've bought the FeiyuTech Vimble 2 Gimbal and one annoying feature unless I'm being really dense is that they say that their gimbal will control the OnePlus camera via Bluetooth. They say you can take photos from their gimbal and also trigger the video. Mine does neither even when the Bluetooth says "Input device" when I click on the settings icon at the side of the Bluetooth icon for the Vimble 2.
Anyone had any different experiences in this respect? Any ideas as to how I might solve this?
I can obviously use their Vicool app for camera and video but I want the option of not using it in preference for the OnePlus 5 camera + video.
Issue with the Vicool app
Hi
I installed the Vicool app on the OP5. Unfortunately the camera isn't working. Did you face any issues?
I installed the Vicool app and it worked fine. They then issued an update and it stopped working and they haven't responded to any enquiries as to why. Very frustrating. I just use it with my phone camera now.
Use Feiyu On app instead of Vicool.
If you delete the bluetooth connection and reconnect, the gimbal shutter button works with any camera app. If you reboot the gimbal it works only with feyiu apps...
I have 4 phones. With mido and whyred on Android 9 I have this problem. With my Ulefone Gemini Pro on Android 7 I can't shoot with any camera app at all. With My Samsung S4 mini LTE with android 7 it really works, always!!!
Hi all, new here, just got my Vimble 2 and it looks fine. Only problem so far is I have to disconnect and repair every time to get my Samsung phone camera to work. Any ideas?

Nokia 6 (2017) keeps freezing

Hello,
I recently bought a Nokia 6 (2017) to my mother. However, phone is keep crashing and freezing while being not used. When this happens back and overview buttons are light up kept it like that. I can only start phone again by pushing power and volume + buttons simultaneously.
Phone is updated Oreo 8.1 with March security update and there are only whatsapp and instagram installed other than the regular apps.
I tried hard ressetting the phone vut it didn’t work either.
Does anyone have this problem? Or anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks.
TA-1043 is Nokia 6.1 (2018) rather than Nokia 6(2017). Are you sure about phone model? Show screenshot from About with model & Android build
Sorry that’s my bad. It’s a 2017 model, I know the model for sure because it has a SD430.

Rear camera of the Moto G7 does not focus

Hello,
A few months ago, I bought a Moto G7 and installed Lineage OS 16 (with MicroG). After using the phone for a few days, the rear camera no longer focused. I installed OpenCamera and tried focussing manually, which did not work, either. All of a sudden, the focus started working again and worked flawlessly for several weeks. A few days ago, it broke again.
I assume that this is a hardware issue. So I will try to restore it to its original condition and have it repaired. Before doing this, I wanted to ask if anybody here had a similar problem or if anybody knows if this could be a software problem.
Best regards,
Bernbacher
I finally upgraded the device to Lineage OS 17, and the camera started focussing again. It has been working for a few days now. The problem may have been a software issue. Does anybody have an idea what could have gone wrong with Lineage OS 16 and got reset when installing Version 17?
Finally I found something out. When using OpenCamera, I can change the camera ID. For the rear camera, there are ID0 and ID2. When using camera ID 0, the camera does not focus. When using ID2, focussing works perfectly.
This would solve the problem if there were not applications which seem to use ID0 always (e.g., to scan a QR-code).
I assume that ID2 refers to this:
android.hardware.camera2 | Android Developers
developer.android.com
Is there a way to make other applications use ID2? Preferably without rooting the phone?
(I actually need my banking app to read QR codes. AFAIK, the banking app does not work on rooted devices.)
