Root - HTC U Ultra Questions & Answers

Is this device the HTC u ultra rootable? I have been thinking about buying one of the devices unlocked to use on my T-Mobile network for a few months because I just recently lost my Samsung s 9 plus and I'm not available for a complete upgrade until July when I can then get a s10 plus. Send the HTC U Ultra is only $200 and I have 64 internal memory and looks nice these are screen size at that would be good enough to get me by a couple months. What is anybody think about about this thanks in advance!!!

I bought the Boost Mobile Moto G at Target for $60. I unlocked the boot loader, flashed the Verizon 4.4.2 ROM and modified it to work on Page Plus. It's activated and working great. Last night I did the OTA update to 4.4.4. Plan to give it to my mother. Nice little phone.

Here in India they released via Flipkart. G was released before X here. And so I had to sell my G as I've always dreamed of getting a X Woodback..

Just sold my 3 week old LG G3 on ebay before I threw it against the wall. With the proceeds I bought a new to the market tablet which is an Acer Iconia Tab 8 (Beautiful full HD, 2gb ram, very speedy Intel Atom quadcore processor :laugh, a lovely bottle of single malt...oh...and a Moto G 16gb and I still have some change in my pocket.
For such a big downgrade (on paper) I have to say that I am very impressed with it. I haven't rooted it as I like to use Skygo but I have installed the HTC blinkfeed launcher and It looks and performs very nicely (as long as I have my glasses on )

Lg G3 vs note 3 need help

Guys as the title says i need help, today someone offered me to trade his lg g3( 16gb version) for my note 3 sm-n900 . The only thing i dont like is that his phone has only 16gbinternal memory plus 2gb ram ,and my phone has 32 internal plus 3 gb ram. Is it really worth it guys? ,need all your opinions thanks .
It comes down to which you like better. They're both great phones. I'd love my note 3 if it came stock with lg ui instead of touchwiz

Axon 7 6GB RAM version in USA?

Since there are quality issues with the phone from the other thread, I am leaning toward waiting for the USA release so that I can get their Passport 2.0 warranty. But I am only getting this phone if I can get the 6GB version since there was a test with the 4GB version and OnePlus 3 and Axon 7 got trounced with multi tasking because it didn't have 6GB RAM.
I look at their site and I don't see any reference to the 6GB version, does anyone know if that's going to come out in USA?
I will be waiting for the 6/128 version as well. In the ZTE webinar over on the zcommunity they did specify the 6/128 version IS coming to the US, but they don't have a release date yet other than 'soon'. Here is the link to the webinar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyP4Wr8ApSo
It has nothing to do with ram, I can't directly quote but I believe zte put some aggressive memory management (shut down apps) to help maximize battery and believe it could also be shut off. That video I believe you are speaking of on youtube is horrible comparison my Nexus 6 multitask better than that video with much older specs.

Did HTC released a phone that no one will buy?

Why would you buy this if you can get the same and more with the LG v20
Yes! It's really gorgeous....I love it!
i do have to admit that for years, i claimed i would buy new a Htc phone if it was within phablet territory and Qhd.
the no audio jack is such a stupid FAIL though.
When will htc realise that they cant afford to play apples silly games?
I would prefer htc u ultra to the v20, but the no audio jack......... besides samsung and xiaomi will make more stunning phones. than the u ultra

It's also bigger then the pixel XL and v20 by size (obvisoly bigger that the note 7).
No AMOLED and smaller battery.
I wanted to buy this so much but there are so many stupid mistakes.
The headphone jack.is not a big deal.since there is an adapter which is not an issue.
I am thinking of buying this phone, I currently have a Huawei P9 Plus. However the delay in availability, the relatively small battery and lack of 3.5mm jack doesn't make it certain for me. The LG G6 or Samsung Galaxy S8 could convince me otherwise in the next month or so.

Oh I bet they will.
s8 is gonna have a bigger screen on a small body, water resistance and an easy to use headphone jack
people think the adapter makes it ok. it doesnt, cos its a small , extra part that can easily get lost.
i have OTGs , so i know
Htc are releasing the phone that they should have released 2 years ago.
THey are so far behind the times, its beyond stupid for a desperate company
I am never getting samsung again. I had the note 5 galaxy s7edge and the note 7. I hated them all. They were solid, beautiful and the camera kicked ass but the user experience was horrible. I still had the lag and things just crashed.
I think it will be a solid device and will give HTC another chance

Just orderd a blue one. The back of it is so beautiful!!!
Yeah I keep visiting the website and going through the motions to purchase but I keep thinking about a 3000mah battery in a 5.7" QHD device with HTC UI and I just don't know...

I bought it. I had the V20 and their support is crap. HTC over the years has given me far better support than LG has. I ended up forcing T-Mobile to allow me to return my V20 and ended up buying an iPhone since I don't like Samsung.
I understand it doesn't have the 835 and doesn't make me a sandwich but if it provides me with a clean experience like I had with the 10 I would be glad. So far HTC has provided me with a overall better experience than LG and Samsung has given me. I will give it to Samsung about the Note 7 being the best device they made in a while.
I bought one, previously on Pixel XL.
Mine already on the way !

On the way? Do you know something we don't know? Like the actual release date?
Mid March supposed to be here. If he is an elevate member he probably getting a demo coming in for those who preordered but they have to send it back out after 2 days.

have them here in HK already for sale and to test, they seem ok, but i would prefer oled displays. I'll see if the HTC 11 delivers maybe that will convince me to trade in this s7 edge for it.
Greetings;
Would someone know if there is different variants of U Ultra or just one WW version?
I'm about to buy one from Hong Kong and want to make sure that all the LTE bands are
present for North America.
Thank you.

Why not buy from HTC.com in the US site, it says releases mid March which is only few weeks away. Generally global HTC phones don't have all three US LTE bands. If I were you I would purchase from US site since it also has the OH Oh protection if you break the phone.

This or 935f (s7 edge exynos)?

I need a phone to replace my aging and failing Note 4.
The question is: get this OP5 6/64 or S7 edge exynos (935f). Both are apparently rootable and bootloader unlockable from what I can tell. I understand it's exynos vs sd835 and 2k screen vs 1080 but I find the s7 more refined (and waterproof, I'm from Florida and I'm constantly on the water)
Talk me in or out of either.
Thanks.

Compared photos on gsmarena, S7 has better camera.
I think battery should be comparable, 400 mAh less, but SD835 is better at battery savings .
I bought this and I am selling my US S7Edge, personally the specs are much better on this phone and I hate the curved screen of the S7Edge it's completely worthless....
Both are priced similarly, that's where I'm stuck.

This one is actually an easy choice. I would say go with the oneplus 5. If it was the s8 it would be a much more difficult choice.

Here's a few reasons to go with the OP5.
Unlocking the bootloader and rooting the device does not void your warranty. It does with the s7.
Snapdragon 835 will outperform that Exynos processor in this case.
Oxygen OS constantly updated
Dual sim
S7 reasons
If you need VR, the S7 has a 2K screen.
S7 is IP68.
Photos are likely to be great on both.
I ended up pulling the trigger on a new s8+ for $470. If worse comes to worse I can sell it for at least that much.

Its a really good phone and for that price, its a steal.

Exactly what I was thinking!!!
Yea, the unidays discount with a .edu email, plus $200 off with any phone to trade in (I have an old burner phone). Check on SD. I couldn't say no to that price. I find the s8 more refined and the devs here are inches away from unlocking bootloader and achieving root. A no brainier in my book.

What part number did you get? Just wondering if you can unlock the bootloader. Or root. I would use an S4 over and s8 if I had to go without root.
At this moment in time it's between the HTC 11 and the one plus 5. Nothing else comes close.

At 470 for an s8 plus, I think it's a fantastic deal. Even though I'm a Japanese Honda Toyota fan, if you walked away with a 2017 new camaro fully loaded new for 15-17 grand, I'm going to be pretty happy for you. Despite the fact I wanted you in a Camry or Accord lol.
