Moto G6 Plus on Pie. Re-Lock bootloader and reclaim the warranty. Possible? - Moto G6 Plus Questions & Answers

Here is the problem:
I tried re-lock the bootloader with flashing the newest Pie stock firmware(reteu PPW29.116-20) after unlocking on the same firmware. But i had the message "This device has loaded a different operating system", and "Verity mode disabled" during the boot. And the worst thing is the message "System integrity compromized" and hens - GooglePay service disabled and no software updates. I've tried all the tricks, but still no success.
Wanna sell the device, so it should be clear from any customizations...
So, the quistion, is it possible to re-lock the bootloader and reclaim the warranty on Android 9 Pie? Or, it's officially inpossible?

I think You have to pay if You send your phone in assistance cause your warranty Is void if You unlock bootloader.if You don't want You can update mannually by fastboot.if You download Lenovo smart assistant You can update manually your phone with official firmware fastboot without problems.

hope, it will be possible to turn the phone back in 'locked state' at authorised servise. i'm desperately ready to pay for this option..

Had same problem with system integrity after pie update. Fixed it by flashing Magisk. Now I'm able to receive updates and use Google Pay.

Huawei Nova "rollback" to standard Rom / unroot

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about rooting my Nova. But I'm new to the Huawei brand. (used HTC before)
I know, if I would root it, my warranty would be lost.
Is it possible to root it, flash TWRP and unroot also delete TWRP it if there appears hardware defects and I have to send it back to the factory? Will they know (like a flash counter in Samsung)?
Thanks in advance.
Well, if you flash full update.app it will wipe all and relock bootloader. So, no root and bootloader locked. There is no counter. This does depend on what kind of hardware defect of course, some types may prevent you from flashing the update.app. I am not really sure how strict Huawei is about denying warranty on modified devices. My friend took his (huawei but not nova) into a service center because his screen suddenly died. It was rooted, bootloader unlocked, etc. They did not bother checking all that, just confirmed screen was not working and replaced it for free. This was in China though, and here rules are often seen as suggestions, so results probably vary by location
in the read me of when installing nougat,it says that we can roll back to the previous version (mm)...thing is,in settings/fastboot,its not mentioned/available anywhere ,,,i mean the option to roll back
the text is also available in firmware finder under whats new (for the selected firmware)...

Is relocking bootloader possible for H990DS

I have been thinking about rooting my v20(H990DS) and I was wondering if there is way to relock the bootloader afterwards in order to receive the oreo update (if ever released). Also after relocking will I still have warranty or not? I will probably use Dirty Santas guide for rooting.
Any help?
Yes you can relock your bootloader, however, unless you want to lose root, that isn't how you would want to upgrade to Oreo if you want to keep root.
LG phones don't have a knox style indicator to show if (or how many times) the bootloader has been unlocked. I have sent various V20 phones to LG for warranty repair after I bricked them trying to root them -- take that however you like.

Relocking bootloader

Hello,
I unlocked my bootloader with an unlock code obtain from Huawei.
I want to relock it now to install ota updates and rid myself of the boot warning screen.
Huawei no longer provide the codes and I can find mine. I've contacted them but they say the cannot provide it.
Is there any other way to relock it?
Thanks.
Reinstall with service ROM. It makes it "locked", instead of "relocked" and it doesn't matter if the phone is unlocked or not.
Thanks,
Service rom? Is that an official rom?
It's OK I found it. Didn't really want to wipe everything but need must I suppose.
Thanks.
You can obtain unlock code via HCU Client or DC Unlocker but this is a PAID service (3-4 EURO).
If you want to relock the phone just install Service ROMs and your phone will be as a factory new ;p

Security Query in case of theft

I want to know that if my Mi A1 is unrooted with no recovery installed, bootloader unlocked and start up pin applied What are the chances that someone(thief) can reinstall rom on it and use it again. I am curious as to whether Android can be as theft proof as apple.?
Extract user data - no, reflash rom and start using the phone - yes (FRP bypass or EDL flash).

Regarding EDL Flash I read this recent article (https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/) and it mentions that only authorized service centres has EDL access. Read and share your opinion.
I think FRP bypass may be difficult if the security patch level is latest .
A query although I had reset my A1 several times by going in settings but didn't received the FRP message on Restart. Is it normal

EDL mode has been locked for MIUI devices, but Android One can be flashed at home without major issues.
FRP protection is triggered when you perform factory reset from recovery. If you do it from settings, it is assumed that you are the owner of the device. With the existing implementation of FRP, I would not rely on its safety.
It seems that you are not worried about your data safety, so wondering why does it bother you if a thief can use the phone or not..? You have to buy a new one anyway..

You can't. Knox Guard is a third party security lock. It can only be unlocked by the co. that purchased the firmware to protect their property. Sometime it is a co. that furnished the tablet to an employee or it may be a finance co. that sold the tablet on a payment plan and won't unlock it till all of the payments have been make. But until it is unlocked by them, you cant' root or install custom ROMs.

The tablet was bought new from Samsung. I had originally rooted it using the current (BUJ1) firmware dl'd via frija using Magisk - but something went wrong with the rooting resulting in that error upon a reboot. Then that error appears everytime I try to flash a new magisk-altered rom.
Why would there be a third party lock given it was bought outright as a private sale direct from samsung?

I'm just going by what i read when I googled "Knox Guard". Have you tried starting from scratch by flashing BUJ1 via Odin?
Yeah, flashing stock fw works, but as soon as anything non-stock is flashed (including trying to flash just an empty vbmeta) it gets blocked with that error.
