Screen Flickers After Unlock - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Anyone else experiencing this? Just a quick, single, black flicker when unlocking, happens with both PIN and FP.
[UPDATE - SOLVED]
The solution for me, and a few other users, was to open Samsung pay to re-authenticate the fingerprint.
If you've recently set up FP, or added a new FP at any point, Samsung Pay will ask you when it opens to authenticate to true it up.
Once I did this, no more flickering. Thanks everyone!

Blame the superfast processor for it, when you open your phone w/fp there is a momentary flash of your lock screen it goes so fast that you can't even tell.
If you want to test my theory then put some more pronounced, bright colored lock screen wallpaper, red or shiny green and you'll see it in the blink of your eyes while turning your phone on.

Did you disable or speed up animations?

My UI 'reduce animations' switch is OFF, but I always keep the animation in dev. options at .5x(windows,transition,duration)

I think I know what you mean, I get the same on .5x, it's definitely just skipping some frames to get past the animation faster, if you set it back to 1 it goes away.

I did have animations set to .5x in dev options, but setting it back to 1x didn't affect it.
The phone unlocks and I see my home screen for .1 second, then it does the super quick black flash, then home screen again.

I can't help, but I know what the problem is and Samsung can definitely fix it.
If you unlock the phone while the lock screen is on you won't see any flickering, it only happens when you unlock from screen off/aod, it should go straight to the home screen at this point, but it goes through the lock screen for 0.1s instead.

Here's a GIF of the flicker: https://gph.is/g/ZO3dRgZ

Weird, mine works just fine from the lock screen, try changing the wallpapers to two different static images.

Changed lock screen to plain black, left wallpaper, still doing it, weird.
I guess I'll try a factory reset at this point. It's quite annoying and makes it seem kinda unpolished.

Region? I'm using the SD855 version in the US.

Verizon version here, I'm not having those symptoms at all.

There's not a single other person that has this happening?!

It could be a Snapdragon only issue, try asking other Americans about it.
I made a slowmo gif showing how mine unlocks:

I have the Snapdragon and this is not happening to me...

[Q] Note 3 unlocking screen bug

So I just got my note 3 a few days back and I haven't had any issue until today when I find a tiny bug when I was unlocking my screen. When I unlock my phone, be it swipe or pin numbers, my home screen wallpaper will blink for a sec before it go my to my current on screen which doesn't happen before as normally it will go straight into my current on screen be it my home screen or an app. Any solutions? Thanks.

what the heck is screen overlay detected on axiom 7

It about stops me from doing uploading pictures, downloading. It's driving me crazy anyone else having this problem?
Yea lots of people are. Anything that changes the status of the screen like some kind of screen filter like twilight, night owl, any of those things, can mess with this. It's been pretty annoying. I have Twilight set to a timer to eliminate blue light on the screen before sleeping and I have to freeze and defrost it several times a day. Apparently it's an issue with ZTE. There is a thread over there about it.

I guess that it should actually be a security feature to prevent an overlay app from abusing any open apps below it... but it is really annoying that the ZTE integrated feature Mi-POP will also make this warnings display... you can simply deactivate it through its notification bar shortcut but it's still annoying...

I'm going to guess you have MiPop enabled? is so turn it off and your screen overlay issue might go away.

Screen overlay is new in 6.0 to prevent apps from creating an overlay and giving permissions to themselves. It's not an issue with ZTE.
Yes screen overlay is new. Came from a N6 and never had this problem on stock 6.0 from Google. Facebook messenger will not do anything other than message can't call, or send pictures. Yes it is a problem with ZTE

Go to the "Apps" setting, and then click on the "gear-shaped" setting button to go to the "Draw over other apps" menu and turn off all apps that are enabled. Go back to the "Apps" setting and click on the app that needs permissions modified. When all the permissions are updated, go back and enable the "Draw over other apps" for those apps you disabled.
Use this app it will get rid of that annoying overlay issue.

Remove Lockscreen (Lock screen: None) - not just ads?

Hey everyone. I found this on the forum:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e4/help/guide-moto-g4-amazon-ad-removal-e4-t3631406
But this only removes ads. How can I remove the lock screen altogether? This used to be an option on other phones. Is it some hidden setting? I am rooted, so I should be able to do whatever. Perhaps an auto-unlock app?
Thanks.
You can set it to lock after 30 minutes and not to lock if you press the power button

The 30 minutes thing is good. I will also be using the Keep Screen On! app.
Is there a way to make sure the phone is unlocked automatically on boot? (just boots to home screen).
