if you want 5G compatibility with your S10 Plus - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

It would be a waste of money to buy one now because the 5G modem is not inside the relief S10 plus has as of right now correct? So I should wait until like the end of the year if I'm going to buy an S10 Plus? Thanks in advance!!!

I debated about waiting for the S10 5G as well but the lack of a Micro SD slot pushed me towards the S10 Plus instead. That and you also have to keep in mind that while 5G will soon be rolled out, it won't happen all at once across the country and only in select cities for a time. 4G will most likely still be relevant for at least another few years depending on how fast the 5G network is expanded for your carrier.

Will Unlocked Galaxy S8 work on AT&Ts 5G Evo networks?

I'm considering buying a Galaxy S8, and I'm leaning to the unlocked, except that I want to know if Ill be able to try out AT&Ts 5G. Will I?
Also, if I buy unlocked, do I just put in my ATT SIM card and go or is there some special procedure I need to do?
There is currently no 5G capable devices as of yet you will have to wait until 5G is out of testing phases
Edit: nevermind the s8 and s8+ are 5g capable so it should work wiith just putting in sim
Yes the s8 will work on att's fake 5g network https://www.theverge.com/2017/4/25/...ion-network-lte-advanced-misleading-marketing
customers with a Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be able to take advantage of a “5G Evolution” connection at “twice the speeds of [AT&T’s] 4G LTE network.”

I know the ATT branded one will, but will the unlocked S8 work on their "5G"?
Who knows, whether you will even notice the difference is anyone's guess too.
There is no 5G yet it's all gimmicks in reality it is 4G+ or 4.5G because it's using for examble carrier aggregation 700+800+1800+2600mhz at once and it is combining them for best dl speed. I built those networks my best so far is 430mb/s dl.
OP you should wait for a first hand confirmation. That hardware is ready does not mean it will work.
This is carrier aggregation this is nokia flexi lte this has 3 carriers per sector aka 5G LoL no really its just 4G but it can give speeds up to 450mb or was it more i dont remember

the ROMs and development for the S10 plus and S10 5g models

I know this might be a little too early to ask. I also admit I am not up-to-date with all the news. But if there's anyone that can answer this, I would appreciate it.
Can anybody say if the ROM development for the normal S10 plus will also cover and work with the S10 5g model.
I'd like to get the 5g model. But if there's no development for it, it would be worthless.
That being said the question is valid if there would be a 5g model with Exynos chip.
But if the 5g model would also be available with Exynos chip and the ROMs for the S10 plus would work on it and thus the development for it would be the same, I would wait for the S10 plus 5g variant.
Could anybody share what're the news saying, please.
No one knows...

Hard to say at this point in time... I do hope they get some good development.
Does Europe have 5g? That would answer your question if they don't. If they don't it'll probably only be released in markets with 5G
Thank you very much

Buying S7 Edge, need Exynos, SD Card slot, GSM or Verizon

But which model? I'd go for the regular S7 but I'd like the slightly larger screen, but I need Exynos, the 3.5mm jack, SD card expansion. I use Straight talk, so I'd like to be able to use the AT&T SIM or the Verizon SIM. I know the G930U is the right one for S7, but I seem to have a hard time finding information on which S7 Edge comes with all network capabilities, along with Exynos, SIM/SD Card slot. Thank you all in advance, I know you all are the best on these forums!

all the S7 edges share the same chassis, so they all have the headphone jack and sd card slot. What makes you think you need the xynos version? If you want to use at&t, youre fine, but the verizon sim will not work in a xynos powered device. They are gsm only. Get a used G935V. Tehy are sim unlocked out of the box (or at least should be) and will work on both of your carrier choices

I see I was wrong on a few things. Was just hoping to get the Exynos for the improved battery life/talk time and rooting/flashing rom capability. Have been doing some more research today and it looks like even if i did get a Exynos model, they are Region locked. The Verizon part was just a bonus, but I see Exynos isn't capable running CDMA, my thoughts were to possibly run a Verizon card and a AT&T card in a Dual Sim version.
Looks like I won't get getting any Exynos the way it looks.
Any reason to get a G935V over a G935U?
Edit - I would take any recomendations on a phone with good service, SD card and 3.5mm jack, that is sub- $300. Need something to replace this Nexus 4.
Thanks!

i dont think the S7's with the exynos chips are region locked. I run a galaxy A8 (2018) that was built for the UAE and its about as un-region locked as you can get. If i was to recommend any of them, id recommend the 935f. It has everything youre looking for and shouldnt have any issue working on AT&T towers stateside, which is also where im at. Oh, and for that price range, youre not short for choice. Look at xiaomi redmi devices. i bought 2 of them and they are actually great phones for the price. The only reason theyre not in use today is due to one word. teenagers. They broke the screens on them and thats not a fault of the phone, theyve broken 3 since... each.

Ahh that's interesting. I was looking at a few of the "tough" off brand phones and they looked great. I ended up with a regular S7 to try get going for my dad, and really liked it. Had planned on getting an S9 as I thought the price would have dropped alot more with the S10 launch. 300 imo is already a ton to drop on 1 phone, as I need 2, 1 for the wife.
I ended up finding a pair of brand new G935F's for $600 on ebay, so I went with those!! Thanks for all the info, it definitely helped!

glad to hear you got what you needed thats what we are here for!!
Just an update. The G935F's I received. Neither one would work right with the AT&T Straight Talk sims. I have a feeling they were region locked, but nothing came up about that on the phones. They were brand new in the box. Neither 935F wanted to recognize the sims, but they would intermediately recognize the sims, and if calling would work, data and text wouldn't, and vice-versa. It was a 12 hour nightmare of trying to get them to work right, and the bit of service I did get when they would work, was very shoddy.
I ended up sending them back, getting a full refund, no issues, and ordered 2 brand new Pixel XL's G-2PW2100. I'm glad I did as I can pretty much freely switch between AT&T Sim and Verizon sim.
Just wanted to update for anyone in the US wanting to use an international samsung phone, they don't work properly. Rip Exynos.

Lol. Well, yeah...you get 5G on it when TMobile turns on their 5G. Unless you are already in a test area.

AT&T 5G on One Plus

I can not seem to find an answer anywhere. Do any of the 5G One Plus phones work on AT&T? I asked support on the oneplus website, but they kicked the ball to AT&T support, and AT&T support does not know either.
Anyone with real world experience?
Doesn't look like it for 5G at least in my search:

So, back to Verizon then?
Will it work on AT&T's 4G LTE? I do not have true 5G anywhere I travel. It is all that 5GE.
I read that LTE 4G worked https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-8-pro-on-at-t.1235162/

I can switch to Verizon, just wanted to avoid that whole porting the number thing.
Actually, after searching, the OnePlus website shows they only support TMobile 5G. It shows AT&T and Verzion 5G not supported. Very confusing!
