YouTube Videos - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Generally videos on the phone look amazing, but I'm wondering why youtube videos, specifically videos with lots of darks look super blotchy and pixelated. Case in point, the trailers on YouTube for GOT and Frozen 2 are almost unwatchable they're so bad. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? Anyone else seeing this?
I have data saver from att off and I'm watching on wifi with 100mbps.
Edit: Watched the GOT trailer from a different source and it was flawless. I guess it was just low quality source before.

I think it's the source of the video. I just wanted a 4k video on YouTube and it was awesome.

I was thinking that too. I also watched a 4k video on YouTube and was amazing. You would think the studios that release these trailers would put it the highest quality possible. Oh well.

According to MXPlayer, my 4K videos are recorded in almost 60fps, as are FHD videos.

I noticed this randomly today while I looked some details of my videos. Are they actually 60fps or is MXPlayer showing the framerate wrong? Some older videos show 30fps but newer ones are 60fps. See the images below:
I believe MX player info are wrong. This also happened to me and I was like, this is too good to be true.
Upload the videos to your computer and use a better software like MediaInfo. It'll give you the correct framerates.

Note 4 (XDA users) non compressed 4K and photos samples.

Hi guys, since i searched all over the forum, i can't seem to find much or any full downloadable 4K samples, before i thought the YT ones looked good, but after downloading one in full ress non compressed ~ 50mbp/s instead of crappy 20 mbp/s youtube ones, i know understand that it does look ever better. Si i thought we can use this tread, in order to share personal footage, and full res/raw pictures if possible, thanks!
Since i don't own the phone yet, i will share my videos/pics later on, please do share i want to make a small collection, thanks!

Not sure about compressed 4K, but I searched on YouTube for 4K video and I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality. Its amazing. On the contrary, 4K wallpapers don't seem to be as impressive. :/

This has to be a provisioning problem with Google's servers. I can get 1080 and 4K on all my devices except the Note 4.

This files are not meant to be watched on youtube, they are meant to be viewed on pc, but taken on your Note 4
Uploaded to dropbox, or other free sharing service.
Ok so question.....the nexus 6 is out already. You think Google took off the feature on our note 4 just to bring it out on the nexus 6??? I wonder if nexus 6 owners can get 4K?
not likely; its a bandwidth issue, so I cant imagine any phone version of youtube getting any 4k videos any time soon
google doesnt want the bandwidth being sucked up by people who need to watch youtube videos in 4k on a 5 inch screen...

Best Videos to show off your N6 Screen

What videos do you guys/gals keep on your Nexus 6 to help show off how pretty the screen is?
Not necessarily movies or anything like that... Just high quality videos or clips to take advantage of the Quad HD screen...
Share them here!
THIS!! I've been wondering the same thing since I got mine yesterday! I downloaded a 1080p version of Guardians of the Galaxy and it looks good, not great. I've seen a couple YouTube videos in 2K but not enough to really show the screen off.
Used this one last night
This one has great visuals as well as sound. Great for testing the stereo speakers!
Here is a classic screen sample video
Optionally you can download a full quality video.
Is it true that YouTube only plays at 1080p on mobile?
YouTube 5.18.5 supports 2k, but only direct download yet:

video upscaling

so i just got the chrome z5p from clove and i am definitely loving this beast! however, i just wanted to ask you guys if you find any difference in the video upscaling improvement for 720p and 1080p content in (a) sony video app, (b) youtube, and (c) netflix. thanks!
a) Yes, please refer to http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/11/1...heck-out-a-comparison-against-iphone-6s-plus/
b & c, have not greatly noticed. The screen quality itself is high so everything looks v nice

so does that mean videos in youtube and netflix are not upscaled?
Everything is upscaled because the screen has 3840x2160 pixel. In the picture and video gallery instead things are displayed in 4K directly.
Netflix looks great, as does YouTube. I can say 100% a 1080p YouTube video on z5p looks same/better quality than 1440p on galaxy S6 using same video to compare.
