The camera app is a bit buggy, crashes on launch sometimes.

12MP shots are fine and good shutter speed. The 48MP mode from normal photo mode is a bit stuttery but it never crashed on me. I would suggest to use 48MP mode from pro mode. The photo will take 3-5 seconds for processing, but it won't stutter.

Attaching a very low light mode shot from the phone via the MI Camera with Night mode first and then the Google Camera Port. (The brighter one is the Gcam)
Google camera Port downloaded from here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-marcant01/

Camera app launches quickly. Occasional lags only.

Instantly
Instantly,
I think that camera is good. I have in other hand s8 and yes, s8 is better in low light, but not so so. Low light pics are clear and usable, with low level of noise.
Edit: Google Camera App is better for night shoots. Better than S8 too. I have used only Auto mode for pics.

EMUI comes with ultra snapshot. This is a camera quick-launch tool that can be configured to your liking. Using this will launch your camera app and take a photo in .8 seconds.

Well, it captures really fast but most of them are blurred due to the shake, even a little shake while taking a photo really spoils the whole thing.
camera is very worst , Even the Redmi note 5 pro will take beautiful snaps
Camera is throwing blurry images all the times , really frustrating to take snaps with Poco F1.
Need a fix for this from MI as soon as possible for sure else their sub-brand POCO will be closed soon
Dont see any issues with the camera..

Camera performance in daylight is good and same time their is much scope to improve alot in shutter speed, blur and sharpness. When we zoom in pictures don't have clear details.
When it comes to low light camer performance totally failure. Even either with out hand shake or with little hand shake we are ending up with bulr imazes all the time.
Poco have incredible hardware inside but only problem is with it's software. Poco should fix this as soon as possible.

From double click on the lock button until the camera opens ready for the photo it takes less than 2 seconds.
And the same time for the shake gesture.
I think it’s pretty fast.
I use the twist gesture, and it is faster and more convenient than I had thought it would be
I use HDR always, so the shutter is a bit slow

Stock Cam night mode is much better than custom one. Taking less time to shoot. And clarity is also good, comparison with Custom cam. Launch speed is normal, takes 1 sec to show it in focused form. Didn't compare with others. Just realized the timing taken.
