SM-G975F Not workig Bixby, no Bixby Key (remapper) - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi guys i got problem that in my phone no bixby key, but i just installed last update, where was described that you can remap button. But in setting there is no such option, only Bixby routine. Also register wizard didnt start, working only bixby widgets, wich is obviously useless. Its EU version, but basically i'm Russian. Please help. Any suggestions?

Do you not see the option in the first pic? Clicking on that should take you to the second pic where you can set the remapping?

bixby remapping should be available in settings-advanced, right on top; not in bixby settings
but only after latest update

But there is no such option. I asked samsung live and they say that is russian version doesnt have bixby and as result doesnt have this remap option too. Even if in update was described that option is there. I updated obviously.
So any suggestions? Do update to EU stock rom by odin?

@shakta108
There are several options:
You can flash different regional firmware, or edit the CSC.
You should be able to access the hidden settings.
Make sure to install the latest (March 1) version of Bixby Service and Bixby Voice. You should be able to access the settings as shown here (credit goes to 4PDA guys):

Hi thanks for reply:
1. Plese tell me where i cant find another region firmware, i tryed to search and didnt found for sm-975f. Also how to edit CSC code, what should i do?
2. I installed latest update, and n hidden features i cant find bixby key option. Well maybe its because i deleted bixby voice by ADB and remapped button by bx actions. So basically i solve my problem. But really want to see this hidden bixby key in options naturally. Please answer. Again cant sent u picture.

Ussd codes not running after update

Hi,
I upgrade my samsung s GT-I9000 from froyo (2.2.1) to gingerbread (2.3.4), after i update it, i just cannot dial to the ussd codes like my operator balance number, it says "USSD Code Running" and then appear a window telling me i should call to another phone number, which is by the way the external unlock phones balanced call number, so it looks like i have a unlock external phone, which is actually not truth... i read thousands of forums but i cannot find the answer....
Please help....
Eduardo
Have you read this
If you have tried this please be more clear on what you have tired before to try resolve this issue
Factory reset?
Was this an official update via kies, or custom rom? Stock rom through odin?
Hi,
Yes this wad the first thing I tried and nothing, by the way it's a 2.1 bug, I read they fix it for 2.2
Thanx
Can you answer the questions in my post or provide more details so we can be of more help
Sorry...
i made an update via odin, i'm very new in android so i'm not very good in details, but it was an stock rom 2.3.4 compalation xxjvp, there are a lot of manuals on internet .
after that everything was just good, less when i tried to dial my operator balance number where it show uusd code running and the rest of the things i wrote before...
basicly i read thounsand of forums on the internet i checked the mobile tracker issue on my phone and is alredy off
by the way i made a previouly instalation and i installed the cf-root kernel, then i reinstall and i didn't install it again
i haven't made an factory reset by the way
thanks for your attention
eduardo
I dont really know about these codes so all i can give you is generic advice that should work, and if it doesn't hopefully someone that knows more, or notices that i missed something can advise.
Do this in this order and see if it changes anything...
Check csc code using nitrality (an app on market, go to tools change csc) or by typing *#272*your imei# If you dont know your csc code use the search or go to samfirmware.com tools/firmware/android/galaxy s i9000 letter codes scroll to bottom (3 letter codes and look for it) I think the more specific ones for you carrier are obtainable using the search here in xda. NOTE: CHANGING CSC CODE WILL FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE
Check if codes work
Delete the cache by going into recovery mode..Turn off phone. Once off hold down the vol up, home and power button untill you see the first screen saying samsung sgs (usually black and white)...
Select wipe cache partition using the vol keys and press on the power button to select
whilst in this mode go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache partition. Next carry on selecting go back until you get back to the first menu and it says reboot system and select...
Check codes...
Didn't work? Probably best to factory reset now. You can make a backup of your applist using "app list" from the market, and if you want to backup the data and stuff you can use titanium backup, select which apps you want to backup, do not do batch, takes longer but better in my opinion. (Also there are many threads on how to backup use search)
Do a factory reset, either via the settings menu or recovery menu...
Doesn't work?
Flash a stock firmware through odin, with a pit file and make sure repartition is checked. Let it finish...
Does it work? No then I don't know what else to do, hopefully someone else can...
Let us know what happens

Have you tried updating the touch firmware in the hidden menu?
if havent yet give it a shot as it worked for me after flashing a rom for the first time.
1. dial the hidden menu number for your model and enter the menu (3845#*980# if that didnt work google for the code for you mobile)
and
2. dig in for the touchscreen firmware version menu and open it, take an screenshot of it if necessary as you will have to make sure the firmware has been updated
and go back,
3. go into the 'firmware update' menu and do the update,
and check with the firmware version after the update and compare it with the screenshot you took.
4. restart the phone and check if it works.
hit the thank button if the way which worked for me helped you, even if it didnt dont i deserve one for the effort i have made here typing? c'moooon

So I somehow managed to break my touchwizz, now what?

I did something stupid. I used BK package disabler to disable a lot of stuff, including beaconmanager, aaaservice, push service, and a few more which I didn't know the function off. I thought if something breaks after restart, I'll just undo it.
Problem is, I didn't restart.
Then I got an update. It updated, and restarted.
Long story short, lots of settings were strange, like vibration feedback was off, and more small stuff.
More importantly, 2 things have broken: NFC is totally broken, it always makes the sound that the tag doesn't work.
And also, my notification tray is broken. The settings gear, and the down arrow don't work, but the switches do.
No notifications show, at all. None.
I really don't want to factory reset. Is there a way to fix this? I hope so.

Probably should have mentioned I did that, and also restarted a dozen times. I guess the update combined with the off packages broke something?
Edit, solution found!!!

What if you try to uninstall the app? If it's possible
You need to flash your firmware again.

Yep. But you'll get a working phone...
Well, factory resetting is basically not an option right now. Living without notifications, and nfc is also not great. Is there nothing else I can do? Like re flashing the firmware while keeping app settings?
Reable and odin the firmware. Should keep data, but clean up system

So you know for sure flashing is not possible without wiping? So xile6 is wrong?
Btw it's not a brick right now. It looks like a software problem. And those can be fixed, right?

Of course I don't. Neither do you. I don't know what you disabled, neither do you. No idea what your original firmware was, your exact S7E model, CSC, bootloader, modem, the update you mentioned, what flashing method you're planning on using etc etc. If you know you're keeping it secret. Presume you're not rooted but you haven't said.
The only info you've given is that you bust your phone doing something you shouldn't have but don't know what, and don't want to do a factory reset
Not very helpful.
In short, how can we help when you don't give any info and you admit yourself you don't know what you disabled that caused your problem?
Flashing stock FW will work (99.999% certain). Give more info and maybe it's not necessary, who knows? We're not telepathic.

Just downloaded a clean push service apk, didn't change anything.

Sorry I'm not trying to be super unhelpful, I was typing via mobile. I'm on a PC now.
I'm not rooted. It's a stock S7edge from the Netherlands (GSM). The update which caused my device to restart was a security update, I think it had the date Nov 22 or something like that.
The packages I disabled before the update and restart were:
AAAservice, Beaconmanager, Briefing, Email, Facebook, Facebook app installer, Facebook app manager, GEARVR 3x, Health service, Instagram, Kies application BnR, Mmsservice, Nearby service, Onedrive, Print spooler, Remote controls, Samsung billing, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Gear, Samsung Mirrorlink, Samsung Print service, Samsung Push service, Samsung Setup wizard, Screen mirroring, Smartcardmanager, Smartcardservice (those 2 probably broke NFC) UIBCVirtualsoftkey (that broke the home button until I re enabled them), voice service & voice wake up.
Anyway, I guess push service broke the notification tray and the smartcardservices probably broke NFC. So, how might I fix those?
BTW just installed a clean push service apk, didn't change anything.
Reflashing should be unnecessary since the tool works without root and system should be untouched.
If enabling doesn't work I guess you're out of luck avoiding factory reset.

So there's simply no way to fix, in the software, what I did to break it?
Guess I'm never going near package disable apps ever again.
You may ask the developer for an idea...
Due to the sandbox system in Android you simply can't access the areas the apps mess around with if you don't have root. In addition those disablers use Knox..
Hi,
- BK Disabler did recommend all customers enable all disabled packages before system upgrade (OTA)
- BK Disabler is using Samsung SDK to work, it means if you uninstall BK Disabler app, it will reset to default (all packages will be enable). So, try to uninstall BK Disabler app, restart your phone and try to update firmware again!
- If it still not work well, backup all your data (copy to PC, Laptop...) before go Setting -> Backup and Reset ->Reset Factory
Contact with the developer at [email protected] to get more support
I mailed him, basically he can't help ATM.
How do I download the firmware (G935FXXU1BPJG) again? I found basically only this working link:
https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge/d804/PHN/G935FXXU1BPJG/G935FPHN1BPK1/
But it's going to take 8 hours.
Are there no official Samsung links? So where do these files come from?

Using Verizon S7 in Europe - firmware and possible to remove all Verizon stuff?

Hi,
I have a Verizon S7 and I want to permanently use it in Europe, France specifically.
I put a French SIM in and can place calls, but internet did not initially work, however, I did not try to change APN settings.
My question is, is there a specific firmware I can download that will put the latest updates on there and allow future updating on a non-Verizon network? If so, which firmware would that be? I'd prefer to have all Verizon stuff removed, too.
Finally, by default, French is not in language support, but I'd like to add that, if possible.
You can flash firmware from G930U model that is unlocked version for US
Thanks. Do I need to set boot pin or anything? I saw some threads saying you have to set boot pass or pin before you flash.
Also, will there be a way to do system updates? I mean, like updating to nougat?
Hello,
i'm in the same situation than you.
Please, can anyone provideme a link to the exact rom to flash in this moment (i found broken links and obsolete roms)
If I understand correctly this is that I need to do:
1-install samsung drivers and Odin 3.12
2-Flash rom g930u(need your help to provide me) without modifying any odin settings
3-Enjoy
this is ok?
Many thanks

hey @H0wdy, i know this is a month late but here goes:
This is what I would do if you were you
-download and extract the zip I attached on a link at the bottom, extract it, and open up Samfirm program, plug in your phone in download mode i believe please double check the original linked thread (hold volume down + home + power for 7 seconds ) put in your phone model SM-G930V and put XAA as region
-next it will search for the latest international update for your phone and click download, (make sure auto decrypt is on) this take a little while to download and then decrypt, but you should end up with a zip file on your desktop containing G930U files (which i happened to upload for you anyhow, but if case you dont want to download the uiversal rom, i uploaded one for you if you wish to use that. If you wanted to do it the safe way instead of using my older Uinversal firmware, I would follow above instructions.
Next open Odin, click BL find the appropriate BL file, click CSC find that file and select, as well as the other two with AP being last make sure to use OYM CSC not HOME.
- then simply boot phone into download mode: hold Power volume- and home upon restart and it should get you into bootloader. click UP, and if your phone is recognized by your computer go ahead and flash your new universal rom.
It has NO verizon bloat and more features such as Wifi calling and Video chat phone calls!
anyway if you need more help refer to this link here if you need help with this software. I found it incredibly straight forward.
you will be able to choose French upon setup of your phone.

Can't find fingerprint management in settings.

This happened last week, took the phone(Huawei Nova Model-CAZ-AL10) out of my pocket it got hanged for quite a moment rebooted as it was running very slowing after responding, since them it doesnt take any fingerprint gesture neither does it unlock. Went to settings thinking that maybe my finger print Id got erased somehow, but to my surprise I find that there is no fingerprint management in setting. Tried googling no solution found. Was in Thailand this week took it to the customer service they said they dont have the software as its from China. I bought it during my travel there. Dont think that i can get it fixed in my home country either. Please suggest what to do.

Root and try this from Henkates Lineage thread.. You just might find it works for you
write in terminal stop fps_hal and then start fps_hal (you need root access) and open Settings again.
If that doesn't work.. Download firmware using firmware finder

Ok.. Instead of going with the root way then.. Let's try Firmware finder, download it from play store ..open it and choose firmware , download and install after download done..
Or enable Update through DNS within the Firmware finder app and go to phone settings/ update and do a search for update -it should bring an update of your current firmware or newer if available-download and follow instructions to install...
If that fails.. You can pm me I will give you a DC credit to unlock bootloader so that you can root after
