For some reason, the sound is pretty low even when the bar is at half & its pretty loud when the bar is at full. Sound calibration is needed as you won't even hear a thing if you're at half bar, while its pretty loud at the full. The jump in increase & decrease of the volume is sudden instead of being gradual.
You'll constantly find yourself listening at one notch lesser than the highest output available.
One click lower than the highest volume is the sweet spot for A50.
Cheers

I think that A50 has a better DAC than my older S7.(Tested with Beats UrBeats 3 on Spotify Expetionnel Quality set on)
Atmos mode also improves the overall quality of sound...

I found the same, the jump in volume between 90% and 100% is much greater than the rest of the volume control. It needs calibration.

MUCH better sound than my Galaxy S7. Loud and clear.
Tested in store and it is way quieter than the XL version. I was disappointed and tried other stores with the same results.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I think this is a nice video to watch. The video shows there isn't much difference between the 3 and the 3xl. Way better then the rest and last year's pixels though.
https://youtu.be/PkpaDKSAwVo
Coming from a pixel 1 to this... yeah the speakers are way better. I was using DuoLingo on speaker while cooking and could clearly understand what was being said without needing it cranked all the way up.
I used my Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth headphones for the first time with the Pixel 3 yesterday while I was walking. They're *much* louder and the audio is better quality than with my old Nexus 5. I wasn't expecting that, but I'm happy.
I tested the ring tone speaker volume and they were very weak but a UTube video was loud.
Has anyone added custom ringtones that match the media volume?
Wheres the outrage on the phone ring volume, first and formost this is a phone. If you cant hear the thing ring what good is your phone. Demand that the fix this problem. What does it tell you that a media sound is louder that your ring tone?
Speaker is clear, but speakerphone volume is not as loud as my Nexus 6 was.

The notification, ringtone and alarm volumes are abysmally low. In anything but a totally silent environment, they are not loud enough to be hear if the phone is in a pocket or purse. I submitted a request for this on Google Issue Tracker website
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/121304984 (sorry, you'll need to copy and paste - new users can't post hyperlinks)
but it was ultimately rejected as "won't fix (intended behavior)".
These sounds only emit from the bottom speaker by design. This was the development team's response:
"This is "speaker safe" mode, in which any sounds that could surprise the user shouldn’t go blasting out of the main speaker. As the user reported, one implementation is using secondary speaker instead of the one in the ear area. We appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately as of now, we will need to decline this as "working as intended"."
This is unacceptable, since it should only be implemented when the user has the phone to his/her ear when on a voice call.
Otherwise these sounds should emanate from both speakers to provide the necessary volume.

Speakerphone is decent. It is one speaker at the bottom but it is pretty loud and quality is OK. Sound is clear but not harsh.
I`m not gonna lie, I liked more the front stereo speakers of my old HTC One E9+. But yes, the sound is loud and crystal clear enough to making me feel good.
The important thing is that I can hear when it rings across two doors and rooms so no more missed calls for me.
As loudspeaker in call mode is good enough to use it in average crowded zone.
Hello all,
My friend bought this phone, she says the sound is very low, when she is using the loud speaker or the headphones, in both cases she says the sound is very low.
One more note: she says one click before raising the volume to maximum sound is still low .. then raising volume to maximum is quite high and good.
It is like that? Do she have to replace her device?
Since you are the only two who posted here, can you give me your opinion please? @rumpelst , @Belgarionbg
Thanks in advance.
Let see. It depends.
For example when I`m watching videos in youtube volume regulation is really smooth. It`s working ok with youtube vanced as well with gettube.
In video players like mx player, km player and the integrated one the volume regulation is normal - each step makes effective change.
For audio players like PlayerPro and Poweramp everything works ok as well the custom option in Poweramp giving additional volume steps.
But in some sites while watching videos I have also noticed the fact that there is almost no noticeable change in the volume up to the last three or two clicks on the volume buttons.
Mostly news sites tho. I don`t know what kind of player code they are using but it really does strange things with the volume. And if I download the video and play it in the phone there is no problem. It`s really strange.
I have also tested it how it plays from different clouds. I use google drive, onedrive and dropbox. There is absolutely no problem with direct video/audio streaming from them and the volume control is behaving the way it should.
====
As for the ringtones, notifications sounds and etc if I have a problem is that they can`t be turned as low as I want them sometimes.
====
Somehow I missed { headphones } in your post in the first reading. Now that is not normal, I think, at least for me.
I mentioned for low volume problems in some news sites but that is only when is on speaker, if I insert my headphones the problem goes away.
The max sound level for my headphones as actually high and I can only tolerate it up to ~80%, over that it goes high enough to feel pain.

Same Loudness like S10+ But S10+ Sounds like Better compared to Note 10+.
On the N10+ the bottom speaker appears to be slightly louder. This is apparent at high levels. I suspect this is accounted for in its speaker design: the top speaker doesn't have the benefit of a big grill.
May I ask you guys where you were able to test this? Was this at Unpacked? What kind of environment were you in when you tested it? I hope its better than the Note 9 because that about half the volume of my iPhone XS. Barely could hear people unless at max earpiece volume, and playing music over the speaker was almost pointless unless in a super quiet room. Thanks!
definitely much louder than note 9, just upgraded from it to 10+
Not much but it is louder and with reacher sound. Spotify, phones near each other and same song resumed on bouth phones (best test for loudnes for me)! Btw I have note 10 (not +) but as I saw, bouth are the same with speakers.

much louder than my prior note 9 and s10 plus.
It's not the speaker phone quality thats an issue for me, it's the earpiece for taking phone calls. If your in a noisey enviroment, there's no way to hear the call, it's all low frequencies and no top end

It depends on the stream quality. With a good rate music, it doesn't crackle at all.
With low quality music, it crackles just a bit and only with Outdoor mode on.
Tho, when you activate Outdoor mode, a warning message tells you that Outdoor mode increases the loudness even more, but the quality will decrease.
Speakerphone while on call
I am awaiting speakerphone (when on a phone call) clarity and loudness feedback. Not youtube, video etc
NAAJIM, how is speakerphone when on call? I am asking Not on YouTube or video but while speaking on call how's speakerphone?
Unfortunately, for me, sound quality is better samsung s10 plus (my wife's device) than this rog 2, clarity at loud volume is good but not the best.
It yes, this device had loud stereo speakers, but if we talk about clarity and quality, i think samsung s10 plus is better
Or there's some setting that can catch up the s10 plus, idk
The speaker on the phone is bombastic.

Ah, this "bkcobra" guy commented on every real life review post (negatively).
If you didn't like the phone after buying (which I'm pretty sure you didn't even own one), just return, damn it.

Just because he's telling the truth you dont need to be an asshole with him
6.000 mah battery with screen on 25%, 60hz refresh rate, deactivated google apps and sevices, no android services opened and disabled, example: Lift phone to ear to answer calls, everything stock twinkered and like i said disabled or opened, battery lasts 2 days with minimum usage, youtube / facebook / some calls / 2-3 hours total usage per day, this is a fake battery marketing, i had years phones that has 5000 mah battery and lasted longer.
So i dont get if you guys are children with little or less knowledge or plain stupid. ( Or payd by asus for advertise this positive , just like all the "youtubers" )
Awesome clarity and loudness
Speakers on their own are the loudest I've ever encountered. (previous phones include HTC one m7, m9 and razer phone).
One thing is if put on outdoor mode the clarity degrades a bit. though with the fairly high boost in volume this is understandable.

Best sound
Quick tip for best sound. Go to Settings, Sound & Vibration, Sound effects, Preset - choose Voice it amplifies everything not just voice. No need to thank me. Enjoy!

Thank you for the advice.
I've read many owners of the phone saying the loudness of the speakers when hearing WhatsApp voice messages is very low.
Can anyone confirm this?
Is it also low during phone calls with the speakers?
Enviado desde mi EML-L09 mediante Tapatalk
speaker quality is great, loudness profile is comparable with my ROG Phone 2
im on MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJBIDXM
no problem with whatsapp voice message (as long as you dont blocking the upper screen), sound is crisp, and definitely top notch quality.
overall mi 10 sound is good
but
i played call of duty mobile
game sfx sound very low and i cant hear footsteps clearly
i tried every option of sound effects and disabled game turbo nothing changed.
also while i playing cod and someone calling me, after end call sound game output reversed(sfx sound hearing so far from my character)
anyone have solution?
Bass reduced when volume is set to 100%
Hello
I just want to know if is it only me or all the mi 10 does, everytime I set the volume to maximum, the bass from the speaker got reduced and the higher frequency was boosted, but when I set it to around 75% it sounds perfect, treble and bass are equal. Any advice to fix this?

Yes, I confirm the low volume on Whatsapp and on calls, already on common media, the volume is loud and clear!
Does anyone have a solution?

i guess this is to avoid distortion its a mobile phone anyways not a sub woofer.
Thanks for the info, it's annoying because the sound quality just change drastically from perfect to decent, I hope xiaomi would give an update so the difference won't be that big

It's designed like that because over time of 100% sound volume usage with bass you mentioned needed. The speaker will damage and distort like anything. Happened with older phone like Nokia 3250 Xpress Music
---------- Post added at 06:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:46 PM ----------
Speakers are the best thing I love in Mi 10. It's next to Asus Rog 2 with more details in instruments. Bass has that heft which apart from Rog 2 nothing else phone has.
It's a pity that none of the youtubers mention or care about speakers. They just say it's loud and that's it. Not mentioning quality of speakers of any phone.
