The selfies are decent. The megapixel rating if the cameras isn't terribly impressive on paper, but the pictures that it takes are crisp and clear, and have good color.
The "beauty effects" are available in a number of ready made profiles that seem oriented towards the feminine user, and are generally not favorable to a normal, un-AI-edited shot, imo. There are fairly decent color correction options, but the interface isn't the most friendly out of the box. Luckily, the various features and options can be moved around to suit the user.
The wide angle selfie cam is a very nice and useful feature. Being able to fit a few now people in, or a landmark or landscape behind you is great. It's like a built in selfie stick, minus the ridiculous looking asshole tourist factor. I love wide angle selfie cams. It is worth the notch for the speaker and wide angle lens it provides.

Y'all getting OCD that LG put only 5mp front camera to the best phone in the world? Use rear wide angle camera for selfies and the front camera quality isn't bad as you think. LG is best in innovation and contains more hype than any than of the 2017 flagship.
Honestly, I rarely take selfies. It's certainly not the greatest camera on the front but my selling point was the quad DAC and the wide aperture on the back camera. I'm happy so far.

Great selfie quality.. 24mp shooter performing well... And booked effect and blur quality on edges is great and way better that honor 9..
24MP cam is showing its presence while taking selfies.
If you like portrait mode, you'll love the Honor 10. The selfie camera takes really impressive photos and the portrait mode is really good.

I believe the camera quality with this phone is amazing for the price
The quality is nice!
But all of my other phones had a wider angle (Galaxy S5, Nokia 5). That's why I don't like it so much.
It's unusual for me but it isn't a big problem for me
But anyway - the camera quality is awesome for the price of the phone!
In my eyes the quality of the front camera is at best average. Even my 2 years old Moto G4 which was almost the same price made higher quality selfies.
It's dated and pretty much average, according to the specs; much like my old J5, minus the front flash (but this phone doesn't focus much on 'selfie' feature, is it?). It takes nice picture though.
But I really don't use front camera to take pictures, I use it for testing remote controls, which it comes handy.
Boy, I feel like using a flip phone while taking selfies with this phone. If lighting is great then sometimes it gives me a usable selfie. But in 9/10 use cases, the photo is blurry, without detail and unusable, especially if you have shaky hands.

Regular selfies are not bad at all. Portrait has some edge detection issues.
Although the pictures are of decent quality, dynamic range is garbage on the selfie cam. I took lots of selfies on a bright sunny day in auto mode with HDR on and the background was always blown out.

One of the best front shooters out there. Plenty of fine detail and no default beautifying crap. Looks great
it could be better because in the viewfinder selfie image seems to be very sharp and crisp but when you take the picture after procesing it loses some details it becomes a bit softer but not a big deal
I don't think the front camera is up to the mark.
