Keep your Pixel 2 XL and don't upgrade to the Pixel 3 XL - Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

I upgraded my pixel 2 xl to a pixel 3 xl a few months back, hoping that the best camera on the market will get even better, but it seems that the pixel 3 doesn't bring any major improvements. Everything is almost identical, at least in daylight:

With the P3's lackluster 4GB of RAM, I definitely won't be upgrading to it. I'll keep my Pixel 2 XL for now and see what the OnePlus 7 has to offer.

Every time Google has a P3XL deal, I consider buying one. And each time, I talk myself into waiting for P4/XL. The P3XL simply isn't enough of an upgrade to justify getting rid of my P2XL.

going to be doing the same, staying with 2XL. waiting for 4XL.

Yeah that huge notch is the main turnoff.

I need to keep seeing these posts, to avoid my itchy trigger finger. My wife has to upgrade her S8+ because she's terrible with her phones. She upgrades every year. I always use it as an excuse to upgrade too....don't wanna be left out, ya know??
Regardless. My Pixel 2xl is a wonderful phone. Absolutely no reason to move on. I always use Swappa. I haven't used an " upgrade" in 4 years.... Verizon can suck it.

I won't consider another Pixel phone until they bump up the Ram to at least 6GB. The notch on the P3XL doesn't bother me as much as its horrible memory management.

I need dual speakers...that works on Verizon. That's why I snagged the Pixel 2XL..... Had the Moto X Pure prior which had stereo too. It's just a feature I really really enjoy in a phone. I'd like to play with a Razer 2....I know that has stereo speakers...

In my opinion the Nexus era was way better. The upgrades between generations were mostly worth the price. Even if not all of the new features were great, Nexus Devices were way more affordable. You could switch to a newer released model without paying almost 1K every time. Seems to me the Pixel Devices just can't keep up with that. I mean yeah, Camera for example got way better but I'm not seeing to much more that got noticeably better.
Anyways, the Pixel 2 is still a good phone I love to use every day. I will keep it and see what the Pixel 4 has in store. But Google should come up with something better than last year. Besides, imho it's enough to switch phones every 2 years (or more) if not something groundbreaking gets announced.

Problem is that phones have become a commodity meanwhile, so upgrades oftenly don't make sense anymore. It's like in the PC world, where most notebooks are used until they wear out.
When I bought the original Samsung Galaxy Tab, it seemed to be too slow. With the Asus TF700, it was better, but still too slow and with barely acceptable battery runtime. The Sony Xperia Z2 tablet fixed both, this was the first device which was "good enough" with its Snapdragon 801. Still using it to this day.
The same goes for phones - upgrading from an SGS2 to an SGS4 was like day and night: Such a fast SoC (albeit still a bit too slow), such a gorgeous screen and the incredible speed of LTE!
The Pixel 2 XL also immediately got me: Such a well put together software, superb camera and finally a really good battery runtime. But when I compared rendering a web site on my old LG G5 and the new Pixel 2 XL, there was barely a difference. The reason why the Pixel performs so much better is in the software, not the hardware.
So now I have a phone with a good screen that is fast enough, a camera which is good enough even in low light and a battery runtime which never causes me trouble.
So why the hell should I upgrade now? I could be wrong and the Pixel 4 could bring something radically new or better which makes me upgrade immediately, but I really doubt it. I expect it to be a minor upgrade to the Pixel 3, like the 3 was to the 2.
Hence I plan to simply use my Pixel 2 XL until it breaks down. Why waste money for an upgrade I hardly notice?

This is what I usually do. I can't pay $1k for a phone regardless of how much I use it. I'd rather buy last years flagship phone at about 50-60% of that cost. So, I'll wait another year with my 2XL and see what happens.

Agreed. Since having my P2XL, this is the first year I haven't had a burning desire to upgrade to the "latest & greatest". I will wait and see what P4/XL offers. I prefer a larger display and battery, but if P4XL still has a hideous notch then I'll get a regular P4 or just keep my P2XL until it dies.

As a Note 9 user, I still enjoy using my Pixel 2 XL a lot and I swap my Note 9 with it from time to time, as my daily driver. That phone holds up very well, it's still super fast, the camera is still premium by today's standards, It does less things than my Note 9, and it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it's rock-solid and reliable, and in the end of the day that's what really matters.
If I was to get a new Pixel today, I'd absolutely pick the Pixel 2 XL over the Pixel 3 XL. The features/performance/price ratio is just way better.

Yes, I looked at the specs and bought the model that was almost 2 years old, no difference, sort of like comparing the Apple X to the XS, no difference. AFAIK, the 3 loses the laser focus that the 2 had.

Is it worth to buy the Pixel 2 XL now? I could buy the 128GB version for 399€. Updates are guaranteed until October 2020. It's next year so it might be possible it's getting Android R, doesn't it? I am using Sony Xperia Z5 since it's release. What do you think?

I still dig my phone 2XL. I would not buy a Verizon version at any price but an unlocked Google version is still fun for sure.

Returned my Pixel 2 for this phone, am i crazy?

I returned my Pixel 2 for the essential phone specially for that $499 price tag and to my surprise I don't miss the pixel 2. The only thing I miss is 8.0 but I have faith that 8.0 is coming to this phone soon. For those of you who haven't played with 8.0 yet trust me... It's nice!

Your not crazy.
Honestly, the camera just stinks. Its gonna take Essential to really work on firmware and software to solve it. Yes, you can use the Google Camera Mod/Port, but that comes with its own set of headaches and it not perfect.
I would like Oreo and them to really show us they can take the LG G6 camera hardware and make them work like the LG G6 cameras.
If they can do that, I think it will show the industry that they mean business. If they just let it slide till Essential Phone 2, and don't show that they can deliver software and firmware, it will really show just how shallow and normal their company really is. Meaning, oh well... let them just buy our new one because its better for our bottom line.
I am REALLY in hopes that they want to prove and show that they are above the other trolling companies that just shovel out new devices. That would set them apart from the pack of the massive flood of phones by a sea of Android OEM's.
Show us your better than the norm Essential.

The Pixel 2 prices should've been lower, after having the phone for 8 days I realised that it's not worth 8 and $900+. No wireless charging, no head phone jack and the build quality is sub par. The squeeze feature is useless and you can't remap it. 8.0 is the only thing that sets the pixel apart for now

Pixel 2 128gb is only $750. And you can remap the squeeze function easily with Flar2's button remapper and a simple ADB command.
Also, I can't agree with you about 8.0 being the only thing that sets it apart as the camera is arguably the best on the market right now.

Its not easy to justify the price of the pixel but you do get a few things the essential phone doesnt have: IP67, stereo speakers, much faster updates, and an incredible camera. Is it worth it? Idk
I have my ph-1 coming today. I'm rocking a pixel 2 XL 128. I wouldn't even consider the smaller pixel for the dinky screen so I think the bigger pixel is more comparable. These 2 phones, both at 128gb are $529 difference out the door. Camera , waterproofing and speakers are advantages over the ph-1. I just don't think it's worth over five hundred bucks. Plus the screen is not the highest quality and I haven't heard anyone say this but the pixel fingerprint sensor is not the best. If you have the slightest moisture on your finger ,even sweat, it won't register. I just feel like at a grand, a phone better be near perfect. The only deal breaker to me would be if the ph-1 has connectivity issues. I'm also really into a smoother software experience which is unmatched by the pixel line it sounds. I DO kind of like the underdog company who seems willing to listen and try to make consistent updates to improve things. I think I'll be content knowing tthat those updates are coming and it gives you hope and something to look forward to... especially Oreo. Looking at that beautiful screen while waiting may very well be worth it!

Samsung Galaxy S9?

Well, i just watched Samsung's unpacked event and i can honestly say it's pretty underwhelming and for the first time in ages i don't have the itch to preorder a Samsung phone. As fellow pixel 2 owners I was wondering what you thought?
Would never buy Samsung . All flash no refinement
Same here. I can't stand Samsung. Although they have the best build quality on the market imo, I just hate their customer service and software.
Well... I appreciate a good Samsung device but I love my Pixel XL 2 even more. Thankfully I didn't get the itch either. Wish we had mst ..
It's not supposed to impress this year. That was the S8's job. The S9 is just a spec bump year. Apple and Samsung both do this.
Besides the screen, nothing on it interests me. Had the S8 for 2 months cause I picked up cheap between phones until the 2XL came out and was longest 2 months of my life
Nothing to rave about! Snapdragon 845 processor is a plus....
Oh, I so need this Samsung phone gotta get it.
I'm so sick and tired of all these nasty monthly updates.
Samsuck is the future.
The only phone that can make me switch from pixel 2 xl is pixel 3 xl
Cheers ?

I've always liked Samsung stuff but I hate the edge screen. They fixed the fingerprint scanner...I might have tried the S9 instead of the 2XL if it was available then. Samsung is promising better updates for enterprise S9s so I am wondering how this plays out for everyone else.
The 2XL is still the phone for me. We get another device here in this house next December and I'll see whats on the go then. Probably the 3XL or Note 9 will be up there for me.
The early days of the notes where good but ever since Knox, I won't go back. Overpriced and locked down tight. Not worth it.
They Just improved little bit camera but from videos as i saw pixel 2 xl its still the King out there..
So it doesnt worth it For me.
No way. Samsung support alone is enough to keep me far, far away. They have to be one of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. A very close second is the lack of updates. Over 6 months into Oreo, and most of their S8's still don't have it. Lastly, how my S7 edge magically slowed down and slowed down until it was almost unusable right around when the S8 was released was the nail in the coffin. Never ever again will I buy a Samsung phone.
Regardless, I love my XL 2. This phone is just bada$$. Zero lag, the camera is amazing, immediate updates. Yep, this is THE phone for me. Unless Essential 2 or some other stock Android phone comes out and does pretty much immediate updates and actually beats a pixel, I'm sticking with these. XL 3 will be my next I'm sure.

Totally agree. I had a S8+ and couldn't wait to get rid of it to get a Pixel 2 XL.
The only good thing is that they at least tinker with their camera hardware. Changing F stop is not bad for ppl who like to shoot manual.
And honestly, for slow/ long exposure shot, sometimes I miss the pro mode in this pixel phone.

Who's upgrading to Pixel 3 or 3XL?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if upgrading worth it. Also my girlfriend wants to buy a pixel and we were waiting on the 3 to see the changes, however for what I've seen I don't think worth the upgrade or buying the pixel 3, pixel 2 still performs perfectly.
My question is, all those feature pixel 3 will have since it's software wise we will have it also in our pixel 2 right ? That smart call, top shot and night mode ?
Also that notch... Ewks...
Anyone have any opinion why I should upgrade to pixel 3 and give this 2xl to my girlfriend or should I just keep it and buy her a pixel 2 instead and keep the money ?
Cheers
I assume the features are all coming to 2/2XL as well. And the notch is a huge deal breaker for me...
I'll skip all notch phones and wait for notch free flagship... maybe in 3 years??? :"P
Depends on disposable income. You got the bucks get the 3. Give your gal the 2 she'll love it.
That's what I'm doing with the Mrs. If you're strapped for cash keep yours and get her a Pixel 2. Can't go wrong either way.

read down to this:
Pixel Visual Core Changes
Next, a Product Manager confirmed to us that the Pixel Visual Core has indeed been updated. Until the device’s kernel source code is released, we won’t know exactly what new functions have been added to the HAL. However, we’re told that the Pixel Visual Core is now actually used by the Google Camera app for Google Lens suggestions, HDR+, Top Shot, Motion Auto Focus, and Photobooth. That’s most likely why the older Pixels will get support for Night Sight and Playground but won’t get support for Top Shot, Motion Auto Focus, or Photobooth – they don’t have the newer Pixel Visual Core.

No Pixel 3 XL minor spec's for me. Be staying with the Pixel 2 XL which has plenty of updates left in it!
I grabbed the 3. It's essentially a more ergonomic Pixel 2 XL with a better screen, better front camera(s), wireless charging, IP68, better speakers, and another year of support.
OG Pixel to Pixel 2 XL was worth it to me but the Pixel 2 XL to Pixel 3 XL not so much
Staying with 2 XL
I'm really tempted to get the 3XL because it's BOGO at verizion but I'm resisting the temptation . I like the better screen and sound but the 2XL is still a good phone and don't really see a big jump in performance. Plus "some" of the new features will come to the 2XL so I think I'll hold off until next year when it's more of a upgrade.
I'm not buying another pixel if they stick to such a huge notch. "Designed by Google" - yeah, no ****. It'll be exact same phone in terms of looks as I'll hide that notch anyway. So a little better screen, speakers, camera ... Wireless charging I don't use anyway, never use it for deep water diving anyway ... Useless.

Useless to you. It's all subjective. Try out the OnePlus 6T.
I ordered the 3 XL cuz I just at like changing phones every year. But I also have a 2 xl and snapped out of zombie mode and cancelled my order. The 2 camera is still amazing. This phone is fast as hell. I like root even if it's not too needed these days. It just didn't seem like an upgrade worth $1000 for.
Oh yeah....and I HATE gesture navigation.
I don't really see the 'upgrades' with the Pixel 3. All the features announced are pretty much coming the the Pixel 2 and the notch is a real disadvantage, so why bother?
Sticking with my Pixel 2XL for couple of years, still functions flawlessly. Let's see what the Pixel 4 holds...
What "should" have been the Pixel 3xl... will be the Oneplus 6T!
I will not upgrade, I don't see the updates as worth the money. And in general I feel that the pixel phones are overpriced compared to the competition...
I ordered the 3 xl. Since I've been paying more than needed on my payments for my 2 xl, the 3 xl with the stand will be pretty much the same payment. Got it for the better cameras as I use mine a lot, also the wireless charging, and the better screen. I checked one out in a Verizon store, and the notch does NOT look as bad in person either. Though, if any devs make it so you can partially hide it instead of fully, I'll be all over that.
Probably will upgrade but truth is the pixel 3 is a very weak effort by Google. I should probably just call it a lazy attempt. I know some tech YouTubers have been saying that the effort is in the software but at least apple actually did a proper upgrade to their internals and software, not a half baked one .
I'll use it for a week and see how I feel about it.

I see the Pixel 3 an "s" year for the Pixel but better than what Apple's done. Things the Pixel 3 has that the Pixel 2 doesn't have or won't get:
Better processor, screen, speakers, wireless charging, wide angle lens for the front, photobooth, top shot, super res zoom, motion auto focus, lens suggestions for Google Lens, and Titan M security chip.
That's a bigger difference than the iPhone X and the iPhone XS.
That being said, I don't think any phone is worth getting for a yearly update. Getting the latest and greatest on a yearly basis just makes everything incremental and less significant of an upgrade. And going from one 2018 to another 2018 is just a lateral move which is even a bigger waste.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Have you seen the XS? It's amazing. Feels better, looks better, runs better. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Battery life optimized to where you will drool. I'm not going there but..
Edit.. it's getting close. I'm not rooting these days there are no roms to speak of the. Wear OS is sketchy vs I watch or whatever they call it. Talk me down. I shouldn't have gone into the store and compared. The notch in the iPhone actually looks good. WTF? That being said I'll probably get the pixel 3 on BF. Probably..

Anyone upgrading to pixel 4?

Just curious what people's thoughts were
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I got one yesterday after the live event and put it in my cart then I realized I can't justify $946 for a phone that has a few better features than my GP2XL. I love my Pixel2xl and spending that much money for essentially a better camera, graphics, and processor (none of which are THAT important to me) doesn't make sense to me. So I cleared my cart and bought a new case for my GP2XL instead for $11 on Amazon. Like Pixel 3, the Pixel 4 just doesn't wow me enough to spend that kind of money. I am not a astrophotographer so that doesn't matter to me.
I will eventually but waiting for a better deal than just 100 off. I was disappointed by the value of trade ins but I'll probably hold onto my pixel 2 until the photo upload promo expires.
Things I'm looking forward to on the pixel 4.
1) snappier performance with hopefully better memory management
2) the faster Google Assistant with continued conversation like feature. I'm a heavy voice command user and cutting down on the amount of times I say the launch phrase will be welcomed.
3) wireless charging. I think it's time for me to get it back now that my family is all on wireless charging. The pads can be used for multiple devices now.
4) better display. I've gotten used to the pixel 2 display but always long for more when I look at Samsung or apple OLED displays.
5) soli seems a bit gimmicky but if it allows me to change songs in my car without having to touch it, then that will be huge for me. Easier than me having to buy a new car or a new head unit.
Things I worry about
1) that face id better be damn good. Smart Lock is starting to get wonky. My watch doesn't keep my phone unlocked at all times like it's supposed to. Keeps saying locked manually.
2) original photo upload. It's something I think won't miss until it's gone. Sharing albums with friends and not having it compressed takes the sting out of not having something like iMessage which doesn't compress photos. Now i have to figure out a different way to share the full quality pictures with them
3) battery life.... ALWAYS BATTERY LIFE!

I too, was going to get it as I figured hell, it's a pixel 4xl and will be perfect to work with especially here in these forums. I even had it ordered for a full day, but alas, today I cancelled it as it simply is too much for not good enough specs. I do believe in two days I'm going to order the one plus 7t. (Just my thoughts)
Yep. Do I need it? Nope! Am I looking forward to trying something sorta-kinda new....you betchya! I don't buy much stuff ever, but every 2 years, I treat myself to a new device :good:
I think i also keep my pixel for another year.its still a solid phone with good bat life and an awesome cam.
I just received a complete new pixel from Google cause of warranty issues .and this after almost 2 year's haha.
This time i will stay a bit on pie because 10 ****ed my phone up somehow before.
Yes, Pixel 4 XL. Way better camera, best display on the market, onboard AI no need for data connection, live transcribe, motion sense, fastest face unlock, faster CPU, 6GB RAM and afree chrome book. Let's be honest most of these features cannot be backported to the Pixel 2, maybe some camera tweaks. The transcribe required the new AI chip and service so unlikely. And my Pixel is starting to show it's age, likes to stutter a little now and again.
Many people moaned the Pixel 2 only had 4GB RAM, so there's a reason for them to upgrade.
Can't see why upgrade honestly, I only got the phone a year ago, and it's performing pretty well.
But pixel 5 will be a day one buy that's for sure.
Damn I'm glad I'm not the only one with a p2xl, thought I was slacking on my new tech. I really just love this phone! XD
Same boat as Badger50. I ordered one with delivery of next week. If it doesn't wow me, I'll return it and probably get the OP7T. If the 7T doesn't do it for me, then P2xl lives on.
Pre-ordered it immediately when the Google Store was refreshed. I thought about doing the trade-in and even ordered the box for it but I think I'll try my luck with Swappa instead. I'm sure I'll get more than Google's $143 offer with all the cases and accessories I have.

I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to get one or not. I'm still using my pixel 2XL, and it performs just as well as the day I bought it 2 years ago, no joke. I skipped the 3XL--no explanation necessary. I was thinking I might wait and see what the 4A looks like when that comes out, but I'll probably cave in and get the 4XL eventually. However, I'm not pre-ordering it or even thinking about actually buying it until I see that root is available for it. I pre-ordered the pixel 2XL and it royally sucked to go without root for the first few weeks.

Can't see why upgrade honestly, I only got the phone a year ago, and it's performing pretty well.

Exactly what I was hoping with the P4 when the P3 sucked. What do I do when the P5 sucks next year. I'm starting to consider an iPhone.

1. It's looking very fast and even though right now it's able to unlock with eyes closed (not a big deal for me) I'm sure they're working on adding an eyes open option. It was in the leaks.
2. High quality is plenty for average people but One Drive is super affordable. 100GB for $20/year isn't a lot at all.
3. Really curious how good/bad it'll be. I used to get as much as 7-8 hours SOT my first 6-8 months with my Pixel 2 XL.

Upgrade P2XL to P5....Pointless?

Just saw the specs of P5....Poor resolution upgrade!
I guess it's pointless and waste of money....what are your thoughts?
Since our security updates will end this month, I plan to upgrade for those and take advantage of the strong T-Mobile 5G signal in my area.

My thoughts?
If you only now just saw the specs you haven't been following the news. You likely also do not understand why Google didn't go with the 865/865+ in the two devices.
For me, it boils down to which features I consider more important. Right now I'm leaning towards the P5 simply because of the aluminum body, but the 4A 5G and its headphone jack is compelling. I think in the end, it's going to boil down to "do I want to pay the extra $200 or not?"

Coming from the 2XL... The 5 is an upgrade. As far as the ppi... https://www.androidauthority.com/chasing-pixels-810926/ this article from AA is very good and I'm sure I won't notice it much. But I am going to wait for reviews and actually see it side by side

Ive never been one of the sheeple, the people who buy into aspirational technology (people who aspire to own somehting because its new and everyone else has one), so its not even a decision for me. Im a fucntional user, if a device performs the functions i need it to, im happy. The only reason i ever upgrade devices is when one is dead, or very much close to being....
I do not get the "new device every 6 months" buyers...i just dont, i think thats insanity
Personally i look at the lines of sheeple at Apple Stores on every release and weep for humanity, and the planet which gets raped to bring people ovepriced (thanks to Apple - they are the root of all evil, not least because they overprice their products, thereby forcing everyone in the market to follow suit, because to do anythign less is to be seen as inferior, so blame Apple, i do, asshat comapny) devices they dont really need
Pretty much the forumula is: new phone = new camera that takes pictures of an even more distant galaxy, hmm very useful in every day life
Some people in some countries have way too much spare money if theyre buying new phones all the time
Im sticking with what works for me, not a corporations bottom line, thanks

I loved the Pixel 5. I think Google made a small decision to stick with full hd resolution simply because you don't notice as such if the panel is good. It's easy on the battery. It will be easy on the chipset and provide consistent performance.
Pixel 5 does not lack anything as such. The only thing i was a bit disappointed was ufs 2.1 storage. Other than that I'm loving the Pixel 5. I'll get it maybe this Christmas or so!
The more I think about it, the more the 4a5g is looking like the better deal. Only differences between it and the five are two less gigabytes of RAM, no 90hz refresh, and a smaller battery, but the battery is still bigger than the 2xl, so battery life should still be an improvement. I've not yet owned a phone that had a 90hz refresh rate, so that's not really a huge deal to me yet.
The big draw toward the 4a5g for me personally is that the screen is bigger, which would make it feel like more of an upgrade compared to the 2XL.
The materials used are also different, but I've never really been a huge fan of glass backs. Plastic was always all right with me, so the 4a5g won't bother me in that regard. It supposedly feels pretty good in the hand even though its materials are "lesser than” the materials used for the 5 back.
Forgot about wireless charging too, but personally I've never owned a phone that had wireless charging, so again, not a big deal for me yet.

I second your thoughts here. 4a5 is certainly a better handset and not much hard hitting on the pocket too!
So far with lack of reviews and having seen a few of the random videos we can get. The OnePlus 8 Pro is looking better to me. Really need to see some full reviews

I kind of agree with you here, except that I am seriously looking at going the OnePlus 8T route.

I am changing my mind to OnePlus 8 Pro too, I can go to swappa.com and get for less price than P5 with taxes. I am seriously considering going back to iPhone. Google has been using the same camera sensor hardware since the Pixel 2 came out. That means if Google ported the sofware algorithms to the Pixel 2 it would take pictures the same if not damn close to being the same.
after being a 4 year pixel 2 xl owner... the pixel 5 feels like a natural successor. Jut my opinion though
i currently use a pixel 3 because i prefer the size but im pretty much done with the pixel series. the cost is far too high and the features are less and less. the 4 had no fingerprint reader..... so i was thinking of getting a Zenfone 7. great size, great amount of ram........ EXPANDABLE STORAGE!!! but after seeing the OnePlus Nord N10, i might change my mind. ill have to see after the first reviews but it has what i want/need in a phone. google is just too obsessed with trying to either win the apple crowd, or become like apple.
maybe if they ever add features like expandable storage ill buy another pixel but the odds of that happening are not good. knowing google, theyll probably give up on the pixel line after the pixel 7 so i plan on holding on to my Panda Pixel indefinitely.
Okay i changed my decision probably.
I don't think i'll be getting Pixel 5 solely because of outdated hardware. Only if they had upgraded the camera sensors i'd have gone for it. The current sensor is at the end of its life.
I can't decide if I want to get a OP8T, OP8 Pro, or Pixel 5.
I prefer the flat screen of the 5 and 8t, the rear fingerprint sensor on the 5, and the telephoto on the 8 pro.
Get rid of P2-XL?

Depends on your battery. After October, no more OTA's from Google.
If your battery is good, between updates from Google Play Store and LineageOS, I think the phone
would be plenty secure. I plan to keep using mine for awhile. running LineageOS

lol Flat screen is such a bliss. My next phone will be a flat screen. I am tired of this curved look and miss touches due to the curve
I went from. The p2xl to the 5, it's definitely an upgrade for me. I love how smooth it feels with the extra ram and 90hs screen, the SD765g has no trouble giving me a great experience on the couple games I do play, (pubg and genshin impact) the battery life for me is about double what the 2xl was and I'm happy to know I'll be getting monthly security updates for the next three years. There are still a couple things I don't like. The top behind the screen speaker is just so-so, far inferior to the 2xl's stereo front firing speakers. However I don't watch or listen to much without headphones or a bt speaker anyways and it does fine for calls. they removed a feature I did actually like.. active edge, I miss sweezing to activate assistant rather than saying hey Google or swiping the corner but still not really a deal breaker for me just so thing to get used to.
