Sprint S6E+ and Twrp Issues - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm hoping someone can help as I a seem stuck trying to reinstall Twrp on my Spring S6Edge Plus G928P phone. I previously did have twrp installed but needed to reinstall stock nougat after a failed lineage os install attempt.
After each attempt to install twrp with Odin and attempt to access recovery I get a blank/dark screen, and no default or twrp recovery screens.
As far I know I have done everything correct.
11. Have developer mode turned on and OEM Unlock and Usb debugging turned on.
2. Press Vol-Down, Home, and Power to access to download mode.
3. With odin, installing the latest twrp for Sprint; twrp-3.2.3-0-zeroltespr.img.tar
4. I have auto reboot turned off in Odin when flashing the twrp file.
5. After the successful flash, I then unplug from USB. hold Vol-down, Home, Power till it turns off, then immediately over to Vol-Up, Home, Power.
And then just on a black screen.
I am then forced to enter download mode again via Vol-Down, Home, Power and with Odin reinstall the stock image.
Is there something I'm missing?

Finally had success tonight. I'm not sure why but I think maybe there is an issue with installing the latest twrp version 3.2.3 directly.
I had success getting twrp 3.0.2 installed after first using CFAR and the twrp app. After that again with the twrp app was able to get the latest 3.2.3 installed.
Now hopefully I get the lineage OS installed for a test run.

Bootloop issue

Hi,
maybe anyone can help me getting out of the bootloop(LG G6 H870)? reason, why I'm stuck in bootloop: I installed magisk v13.0 (beta) and magisk manager 5.0.3 after unlocking my bootloader to gain root access. A new version came out and I decided to installed it because it switched magisk 13 from beta to stable. I opened magisk manager, updated the manager, downloaded magisk v13.2 and flashed it through recovery (twrp). But i wasn't able to get root access (rebooted a few times, but no difference). So my next plan was to uninstall magisk using the magisk-uninstaller.zip and flashed it using twrp. After this step, my phone rebooted over and over again. The only thing i can do is to get into the factory data reset screen. While booting , i connected my phone to my laptop, but obviously its not recognized so I can't execute any adb commands.
Any suggestions how to access recovery mode or how i can leave the bootloop?
Thanks
edit:
I managed to solve my issue in following way:
1. booted into download mode like Killua96 suggested while connected to my computer
2. opened lgup on and flashed the factory image
3. rebooted into bootloader and flashed twrp image
4. copied my backup (which i made with twrp) into the BACKUP folder
5. restored my backup with twrp
6. after reboot I wasn't able to unlock my phone, because my correct unlock pattern wasn't accepted
7. booted again into twrp, navigated into /data/system and deleted locksettings.db-wall, locksettings.db-shm and locksettings.db
8. rebooted one more time and everything was fine again!

Try to connect it to the pc while bootlooping, then turn it off by keeping pressed power and vol- when the display turns off quickly keep pressed vol+ and it should boot in download mode... Good luck

Nvidia Shield 2015 16GB stucked on Nvidia Logo after flash 6.1 - how to solve

Hey guys.
After the time I spent trying to unbrick my softbricked shield 2015 16gb, I decided to share how I was able to solve it.
I was on 5.2 and decided to update to 6.1 since the developer image was released and my previous upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2 with flashfire run so smoothly so what could go wrong??
After install lastest flashfire 0.73, I select all but data on the flash firmware package, and let it run.
I had my shield on 5.2 rooted and with TWRP as recovery.
After flashing vendor.img it restart and get stucked on the nvidia logo, and there was where
my problems started.
After 30 min I switched off and on again and same thing. Nvidia logo and nothing more. 1 hour after that I finally was able to go into bootloader mode.
I needed to use the default USB cable that came with the shield connected to OTG and USB on my computer. As soon as I connect the power and the led goes on I pressed the power button until I was
able to see the menu.
From there I was able to run fastboot. I reinstall every build and the shield refused to back to life. Flashed successfully but wont go through nvidia logo.
I enter recovery and did a reset assuming I had some problem with my data. No luck. I start to assume my shield has a hardware problem.
I downloaded both the stock recovery and the developer image 6.1, 6.0, 5.2, 5.1.
Tried to flash all of them one by one. Nothing worked. It complete the flash process but after reboot keep stucked on the logo.
Lots of time reading XDA and googling it I found a TWRP 5.1 flashable zip image, and in last resort I download it, reflash TWRP and flashed the 5.1 zip image.
It worked!!
I run the wizard as a new shield, and return to TWRP and flashed SuperSu 2.79. Rebooted, and install flashfire and run again the process with the 6.1 developer image.
This time flashed ok, and I finally get 6.1 rooted and working perfectly.
So resuming all the steps for those who dont want to read all
If you are stuck on Nvidia logo after flash 6.1
1 - Download firmware 5.1 zip TWRP flashable (search on XDA)
2 - enter bootloader on your shield hardware mode. Connect the OTG port on Shield using the default USB cable, and after connecting the power and the green light turn on press the power button until the bootloader menu appears.
3 - Assuming you already had the shield drivers and ADB installed on your computer, go to TWRP recovery or install it. I flashed TWRP 3.02 (once again search for it on XDA). fastboot flash recovery "twrp filename.img"
4 - Boot to TWRP and upload the firmware with the command adb push "firmware filename.zip" /sdcard/
5 - Upload also the SuperSu 2.79 binaries. adb push "supersu filename" /sdcard/
5 - from TWRP install the firmware and let it run. It will generate some errors but it will work.
6 - Reboot and complete the wizard.
7 - Reboot to TWRP (you can activating developer mode, and run adb reboot recovery from inside the androidsytem) and flash the SuperSU
8 - Reboot again and install the latest flashfire.
9 - Download the 6.1 developer image (search XDA for it)
10- Run flashfire and install the firmware package. Thats it!
Hope this will help someone

Have flashed TWRP image using ODIN but it still boots into regular bootloader

I followed the forum instructions to flash TWRP onto my N910F Note 4 according to instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55277852&postcount=3
All works fine. But when I reboot into the bootloader I still get the original bootloaded with the "Downloading Do not turn off target" notice.
On that tutorial it does say at the end that if the recovery hasn't changed then to uncheck the auto-reboot option. Did that, but same again.
What could I do?
Download mode is nothing to do with recovery.
You flashed a custom recovery, therefore you'll need to boot into recovery, not bootloader (download mode in Samsung phones). Power off your phone, then hold power, home and vol up to access the recovery you just flashed.
Sometimes the phone indeed overwrites the newly flashed custom recovery with the stock one, in such cases it usually helps to disable auto reboot in Odin (as you did), holding power+home+both volume buttons to force a reboot, then booting back to download mode and flashing the recovery one more time. Happy flashing!

[SOLVED] Can not install TWRP [#failed to open recovery] Help!

[ORIGINAL POST] - solution further down - (TLDR do not reboot into system after flashing recovery)
Hi,
I'm trying to install TWRP but when i've flashed PDA via ODIN and reboot into recovery, this is what i get. [see images] https://imgur.com/a/zfdvs
TWRP file from TWRP website: 'twrp-3.2.1-0-dream2lte.img.tar' for Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Exynos) (dream2lte)
As this did not work i tried to flash new BL and CP and then i retried to install TWRP, no luck.
Can you please help me! Thanks!
I also tried flashing TWRP (another version just to be safe) via heimdall, but that didnt work either. The enitire prosess is fine, but when i reboot into recovery i still get to the same page. [see images above]
[SOLUTION]
*Do not* boot into system after flashing recovery (TWRP), instead, make sure to boot directly into recovery.
Apparently Samsung Reinstalls recovery when you boot into system after flashing TWRP (or any other recovery for that matter). I do not know if it's like this for all Samsung devices or only the S8, but that's the way it is.

I had the same problem and found instructions to press volume down + bixby + power and then start the Odin load. The load went fine but my phone locked up at the Samsung Logo screen. I tried getting back to the download mode but the screen went black. Now the phone will not power on at all. Exceedingly frustrating.
I've spent 2 hours trying to work out what did I do wrong (checking hashes, odin version, etc) and the simple solution was to boot into recovery right away after flashing via Odin. Thanks!

I've followed different procedures but basically use ODIN to push TWRP to my SP-580. After that, the tablet reboots. I disconnect the cable and power the tablet down. I then hold VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP and connect the cable again. But instead of going into recovery mode, it just shows me the percent charged dial. I can get no further than that and have done that at least 15 times. HELP???? Thank you!!

Unlocked bootloader and installed twrp but magisk won't install

Alright so, I've managed to uppercut down to 13a from 1ca, unlock the bootloader, install twrp. Never installed supersu, but when the phone booted to twrp I installed the magisk zip with no errors. After booting the magisk manager never showed up as installed. Installed it manually, ran it, said magisk was not installed and device fails safetynet and pts. Downloaded the latest stable magisk, booted into twrp and tried flashing it AGAIN. This time I get an error that it can't flash it. I'm totally lost here. This is all I lack to have systemless root here. Also I can't seem to boot into recovery via button presses. I keep getting the pink triangle and despite holding vol+ and power, the device just boots normally. I have to force recovery via adb on pc.
Any ideas?

It's his day off
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I kinda ran into a issue with magisk not installing properly and how I got around it was to get your roms boot image file and make a zip of it. Then, go to twrp and flash the boot image, then flash magisk.

You installed the magisk zip and the magisk manager apk? Did you try flashing the rom and installing masik and the apk again?
For some reason on the lg phones it won't boot directly to twrp. when you boot to recovery and it ask if you want to reset, select yes. If you have twrp installed, it will then boot into recovery.
I have not since my bootloader is unlocked I heard u can't go back to stock on the vs995

Nothing i suggested requires stock.
With the phone off
press and hold volume down
press the power button and hold until you see the lg logo
while holding the volume down, release only the power button and press it again and hold
if you did it correctly, you should be in recovery
it will ask if you are sure if you want to reset your phone a few times
select yes, and yes
If you have twrp installed it should boot up in twrp
Or
If you already have the bootloader unlocked, make sure that developer options are enabled
go and enable adb debugging
connect usb cable
use adb to boot into fastboot
use fastboot to boot into twrp
From twrp you can flash the rom zip, magisk zip, and then install the apk after the phone rom boots up
which rom are you using? which magisk zip? which magiskmanager.apk?
