Realme 2 Pro custom ROMs - Realme 2 pro Questions & Answers

So now that there are recoverys available for this device, is there any news from absolutely any custom ROM developer that this device will get one soon? Coz really I could use any rom that isn't coloros, please let me know if there's anything I can try at the moment or approx how long we have to wait till it gets a custom rom! Thanks.

Realme not released the full kernel sources yet. So can't make the custom ROMs. Realme going to release full kernel sources on third or fourth week of Feb. After that custom ROMs can be possible. You can try the gsi ROMs for this device. Right now the havoc OS is near to stable or you can try it.

Extract the zip first then you get system.img file. Boot to twrp then go to wipe and just swipe to factory reset. Find extracted system.img and flash to system image and reboot to system.

Yes. It is near to stable rom. Still it has some bugs like fingerprint sensor not working or hotspot shows open even after setting password.
For volte and brightness issues try fixes from below link.

If you not into customization try lineage and try zetsubou kernel.
if you into customization go for rr but its not that stable and snappy, if you use just themeing as customization try nuclea/viper they have oms suppport and try zetsubou kernel for them as well.
my suggestion/rating LOS>Viper=nuclea>RR

No, the bootloader isn't locked..
You can flash TWRP via ADB as well as by flashing the img file through Flashify app or TWRP app (if you're rooted).

we are fortunate enough so, bootoader is not locked
to flash recovery boot into fastboot mode and have usb drivers and ADB installed readily place your phone in fastboot mode and make sure your recover is in the same folder where you have ADB, now press shift and right click select open command window here and type fastboot flash recover name_of_your recovery.img and do make sure your directory or folder name should not have spaces. eg c:\folder name/adb.... is not acceptable it should be c:\folder_name/adb....
if you face any problem feel free to ask or pm
happy flashing!
Thanks for your precious advices.. I will pm you if I get any error..

Yes! Its safe Zetsubou will give you enhanced performance and your battery life i.e S.o.t will decrease. With zetsubou you might get a bit heating issue as its over clocked for performance. I'm using stock for now.

In that case try Cosmic/nuclea and please do not backup data from titanium backup it causes fc and freeze. and clean flash the rom wipe everything but memory card, flash pico gapps (if you want assistant flash nano). And hope you will experience better performance. Lineage recent 3 releases had issues so i also switched and would recommend.

Comments on the sad fact that stock rom is the best performer?

It means we have come a long way from earlier days where stock ROMs used to be terrible. XD XD
Don't need to fix what isn't broken XD

No comment of you own? Or are you dumbfounded that all the hype about custom kernels/roms don't add up?
Stock ROMs are best for people who are loyal to the handset manufacturers and are extremely cautious about security. But if you are someone who wants fast performance and customizations, then stock ROMs (except miui type ROMs) are no match to custom ROMs.

Disagree with this, anyone loyal to manufacturers ROM would not have bought an A1 with Android One, In the past I have spent ages changing ROM's or debloating to get a pure Android experience without manufacturers bloat. Anyone loyal to the manufacturers would have bought a MIUI based phone and not and Android One phone in the first place.
With the A1 you get that pure Android experience which for me is the best experience as the OP says.

Best stable rom with good performance?

Hi,
I've been kind of out of the loop for a bit, but after some problems with official ROMS i decided to switch to the custom ones.
I'm looking for something that's as stable and lag free as it can get (I was very happy with official roms from xiaomi to give you an idea of "good enough" for me).
Anything symilar available? I'm currently sitting on https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-4-prime/development/rom-aicp-13-t3752647 , but I see some minor stuttering and it happened to freeze for me already :/
I don't care about customization and fancy stuff, neither do i care about android version (as long as it's not ancient xD). Can anyone suggest something?

It's more stable because it's maintained more frequently, new builds are released as soon as the sources are updated.
And, there's no post about it on xda, it's maintained by a Russian dev and publishes his work on 4pda. So, you'll only get the zips. For details, follow him there.

The site is Russian, rom is in English. Flashing is as usual, as you described.

best rom for zuk z2 plus according to me (after 1 year of custom roms experience)

Ok so guys I'm suggesting the most stable, bugless and sensible ROM according to me after trying tons of roms throughout a year ......
Thanks to our devs who are still providing their best to keep our device updated .... But the ROM that i think is most stable in every aspect is viper os 5.2 oreo ...... Just flash the rom with combination of bfr kernel and see the results for yourself ..... I personally don't want to use an oreo rom in the time of pie but for some reason pie roms are still not that amazing as oreo ROMs used to be .... Plus the battery backup can never be matched to oreo in pie ROMs for our device don't know why ......
So guys if you want a rom that is fast ,fluid , stable, able to play any game effortlessly just give this combo a try .... You'll be amazed .... It gives 5hrs sot very easily even with kind of heavy usage .....
Viper+bfr rocks.....
I would like to try the combo you described, can you post the link to the forum pages for the rom and kernel. Much appreciated
Here's the links .... And all the credits goes to the devs of the rom and the kernel .... I'm just an appreciater?
