[PIE][9.0][Need Help]Nexus 6P won't boot any android Pie ROM - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i wanted to go for some Pie rom and it turns out i cannot do that because reasons. Done everything that was listed in instructions, done even more things like flashing stock image, wiping everything, flashing fbe recovery, wiping everything again (besides recovery ofc), then pushing the rom to /sdcard, flashing it, wiping internal storage. It doesnt really matter what i do and what rom do i flash. Every time i end up staring at Google's boot logo (AOSPExtended is stuck at boot animation). I know there is a line like "be patient" in the instructions, but my patience had to come to an end eventually and it was after like 2 hours of boot logo, and another 2 hours of AOSPEX's boot animation. The phone is not heating up, but it would crash on the 1st phase of boot animation and reboot till infinity after restoring TWRP backup. I really wanted to use Pie, but i have run out of ideas on how to make it boot.

It's really an unusual case. But I had it on my previous phone, the LG Optimus G. I'm from stock 4.4 and every higher Android version rom won't boot on my phone. I gave it up but two months later, I tried again and bizarrely, It boot fine without any reasons. Sorry I can't help you what the problem is, but I can only tell you that you can try Pie roms a few time later and wait for you luck

By reading the flash instructions CAREFULLY.
Format data after flashing. It's the button next to advanced wipe button.

Then yeah, I did it.

Did you ever get this working? I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried several Pie Roms and so far no luck getting past the boot animation.
Oreo Roms work and boot up quick. I've updated to the latest TWRP as well. Is there a v9 Vendor Image we can try flashing?

Didn't really have time to mess with this lately, as i need my phone up 24/7, but i tried to get this working as soon as first Pie ROM's started to come out. Couldn't get it working then, and 2nd time was about the time i created this post.
The lastest vendor image is OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018, as far as i know, so... We are kinda stuck with 8.1.0 for now.

I'm Having Issues!!!

Ok so i'm fairly new (only 3 and a half months although been lurking until my hero purchase for around 6 months) and catch on quickly.
I have a cdma hero running darchlegendv.4.3 and forgive me for forgetting his name(The Blue theme his name starts with a g,sorry g*****,lol) but anyhow, i've tried flashing a few roms now and am getting stuck in a constant boot...
I Backup,Wipe Everything but sd,flash the update zip and it installs and boots..
The Problem is It boots and boots and then finally freezes for about 20 seconds then starts the boot animation over and over. What could be the cause of my constant boot???
1)Is It A Bad PRI or PRL???
2)I've Flashed Fresh 2.0d,Darchlegend 5,DC5.6,and Darchvanilla with this problem..
3)(While I'm Asking Questions)I'd Like To start developing and making roms and/or applications for my favorite little green robot. Can anyone take the time out to PM me possibly??
Thank you sooo much for any contribution it's very appreciated

I hope you're trying to wipe and then adding the theme... flash or recover your 4.3.1 (although I recommend flashing 4.5) and then flash your darkstar theme over it
Oh no I have the them on top of darchlegend 4.3 , I applied that right i just don't know why it constants boots when i try to flash to a new rom(i do wipe)I just don't know..

So plug in the cable, do a logcat, and find out.
How exactlt do i do that? Thanks for the reply
do adb logcat from command prompt.
ALSO,
were you sure that this was in fact a theme for DarchLegend? Cause if it didn't specifically say that, then that is why. Different frameworks between that rom and the sprint roms.
yes I haven't a clue what's wrong, I'm in recovery wipe and it installs but conatantly boots . Note:this is when i flash a new rom,te current will boot

what are you wiping just data? ive had this happen before, wipe everything dev., ext, data everything then flash again then wipe data again.
Any flash that wipes dalvik cache like a rom our flipz's vanilla lock screen fix can take up to twenty minutes to boot the first time. This also means anytime you wipe the dalvik cache from recovery.

Bootloop while flashing roms from any recovery (Self-resolved!)

Alrigt, I randomly get reboots and I just rooted using Revolutionary last night. I'm using TWRP as my recovery and I want feedback as to if this is a normal issue or if it's just my handset. I hate sense and want rid of this garbage. >=( I appreciate all feedback, just don't be a jerk about it. I'm not new, and this isn't a noob question. I'm asking specifically about Revolutionary root with twrp then flashing CM7 as the rom and if it has bootlooping issues coming from stock.
I haven't tried TWRP, but you might want to try the usual recoveries, and try wiping everything once and and a fresh install. Just a thought. I have never had issues with any cyanogenmod. Oh another thing, might want to partition your SD card.
It's stuck in a bootloop right now. I actually already tried CWM and just did Amon_ra's recovery...it seems to be a CM7 issue with my phone? I'll try MIUI and then switch to CM7
So, you're afraid to ask for getting shot down.
I'm afraid to post an idea for getting shot down. But, I'll venture forth and probably be wrong. Do you still have PC136.img on your SD? If so, I think you're supposed to remove it. I could be wrong and probably am. I'm 70% sure I'll hear about it if so.
MIUI was bootlooping as well. I think this might be an issue with me flashing my splash screen after acquiring root?
Common issue: make sure you are wiping the SYSTEM partition. The "factory reset" wipe option does not do this. Or find one of those automated "super wipe" scripts to flash in recovery that does it all for you.
Others had bootloops and such and later posted back that it was a wipe issue.
Also, provide a logcat if you can.
Actually, I found that I had to wipe the boot partition for some reason. It worked and I hope this thread helps people get past boot loops. I also need to restore my Wimax keys now lol.

GE ROM, won't reboot

Hi,
I flashed the google edition rom a few weeks ago, all was working fine. This morning, I decided to flash a stock rom from sammobile (was this a bad idea)? I used CF autoroot and twerp custom recovery. It failed. So wiped everything, reflashed the google edition rom, but when I reboot the phone it gets stuck showing "Samsung galaxy s4" white text.
To boot it again i have to wipe data, cache and dalvik, then reflash the ROM, then qipe cache and dalvik, then it reboots. But when I turn it off then on again the whole process starts again.
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is the same ROM that worked faultlessly for weeks...
Thanks
Did u wait long enough, first reboot after flashing a new rom can take a while.

Yeah, I gave it 5 minutes, but it's not even getting to the boot animation.
When I tried to flash the stock rom could that have messed something up? It said failed, then for ages after that, it kept saying "error-failed to open \data\data .... I/O error" in twrp.
To avoid that I have to wipe data seperately, reboot recovery, then flash the ROM again from scratch. Every time I reboot the phone I have to do a full wipe and flash the rom before it even boots..

Well depending on which stock ROM you flashed you maybe affected by the enabled SElinux issue see https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z13xxnmzvyeihn00w23wcdp55terwvove

I don't understand what the issue is though. I'm not doing anything different than I did 3 weeks ago, and yet this time it doesn't work.
It's now gotten to the stage where it won't boot at all, just sits at the white text, no boot animation.
Is it possible that flashing a stock un-rooted ROM has messed it up somehow? Technically it never flashed because it just failed immediately.

If you flashed the latest stock ROM it maybe be one with Knox and that has a secure boot loader and kernel secure Selinux Knox stops you from modifying and installing.
Try using ausdims v16 kernel or wadams Adam kernel for stock roms. Note when I flashed the last ROM waited 10 minutes and had do a wipe and reset for it to boot see last pages for discussion http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824

Stuck in bootloop - doesn't reach boot animation, and can't access recovery.

Hi All!
I seem to be stuck in a bootloop on my 6P. I was running the latest Pure Nexus build, and I was having a bit of trouble with some apps, so I decided to reboot into TWRP and wipe the cache. After booting up again, everything seemed normal. The phone was running for a minute or so, and it just shut off. After that, it just keep rebooting. It's not a normal bootloop. I do not reach the animation, I only get to the screen where it says "google" and has the unlocked padlock symbol on the bottom. After that, it starts all over again with the "cannot check for corruption screen."
To be very clear: I can't boot anything at all, including recovery. I have tried flashing multiple versions of TWRP and multiple versions of the stock recovery.
Here is what I've tried so far:
I have flashed back to the latest 7.1.1 release both manually and using the flash all command
I used fastboot to erase the system, cache, boot, and userdata. I ran the commands normally and also with -w.
I've tried to flash an older version of android - 6.0, I think.
Nothing seems to work. I haven't made it to the boot animation once since it shut down.
I also left it on the charger all night just to be sure. The battery was at about 75% when it shut down.
Thanks!
RMA bro.

Glad your warranty worked for you. Pure Nexus seems to be a recurring factor in several threads. I've never used it myself. Over in this thread, an experienced user ran into a bootloop that would not clear with a fresh wipe and installation with flash-all.bat or even flashing partitions manually. Flash-all.bat finished with no errors but still looping. As a last resort he used Skipsoft's Toolkit to re-install stock and it worked. The toolkit script formats userdata and cache and this appears to be what solved the problem. Interestingly, he was able to reproduce the problem with PN. After installing it, he went into a bootloop again and the toolkit again got him back to stock. So, others that are stuck in a bootloop especially after running or updating PN should try formatting userdata and cache, or use the toolkit.

HELP Nexus 4 Seems to be dead :(

Hello guys. There is a serious problem with nexus 4 booting process. Normally the phone always boots up after flashing custom/stock roms.
I was running nitrogen os. Flashed quanta reborn kernel. rebooted and then phone stuck in infinite bootanimation. I first thought this is because of kernel. Dirty flashed nitrogen to see it resolved. But nothing changed. After that i flashed dozens of roms to see any difference. But no luck with that too. I also flashed all factory images to fix it. After all those wipes and new roms. Its still stuck at infinite bootanimation. I think this is an emmc problem but i can mount, format and flash all partitions without an error. I checked all Q&A posts related to nexus 4 by the way. Still no fix for this issue. Thanks for any help from now.

What is the current state? Are you able to boot into fastboot?
What method did you try to restore factory images?
Nitin
I used the normal fastboot method to flash factory images. Flashed partitions one by one. No matter which rom i flash , the bootanimation never finishes loading. Not even showing the android is upgrading/starting dialog. By the way i can boot into recovery and fastboot
"flash-all.sh" (if using Linux). I found that you've got to run the script as manual flashing of partitions seemed to solve for me.
I've had this happen before.
If I recall, correctly, what i did:
1. Download the last factory image (LMY48T) for "occam" for Nexus 4
2. Uncompress the folder "occam-lmy48t-factory-416938f1.tgz"
3. Ensure ADB &/ Fastboot tools installed.
4. Plug in phone via USB to PC and boot to Nexus 4 bootloader;
Open terminal in uncompressed folder, and type:
"fastboot devices" - this should list your phone.
"flash-all.sh" (if using Linux). I found that you've got to run the script as manual flashing of partitions seemed to solve for me.
Hope this may assist you!

Thank you for your response. I'm going to try it and return with results.
That method didn't work out. Result is same as normal flashing.
Am sorry to hear that. When using the script method, I recall it taking a surprisingly long time to boot to Android/Google setup. Perhaps give it a final try, and be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes. Am holding thumbs.

Another thought; although it technically may be unnecessary, perhaps flash the latest TWRP for mako and wipe all partions (and format data), prior to running the script to flash the factory image.

I flashed latest twrp recovery 3.1.10 and used format data (which wipes all partitions including internal storage). Result was same.
And flashed latest 5.1.1 image again and wait about 1 hour 15 minutes. There was no luck . I'm planing to buy a broken screen nexus 4 for cheap price. And use the motherboard of it. Thank you for your time and effort.
Am holding thumbs you find a good deal and get it working. I did similar; bought 3 Nexus 4s for very little money, and the Nexus 2013 LTE. All running Android 7.1.2
I've used isopropyl alcohol & distilled water (half/half mix) and a tooth brush to gently clean mainboards before, and have had luck reviving some of them. Just avoid immersing screens or other components as liquids and solvents can harm them. Apparently isopropyl alcohol is what electronics manufacturers and servicing centers use to clean boards.
