FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Cool, could you maybe write a short review of the rom? Your experinece? Bugs/features/etc.? It would be very usefull for all, because there is almost no information about this rom on Redmi 5.

Known Bugs:
WORK AROUND FIXES:

- Enable/Disable Softkeys Among Other Options: Soft/Hard KeysKnown Bugs:
1: You just may not see the boot screen, And some time you will. Not a real big deal..
2: I have been informed that the vibration intensity along with a few other custom settings will crash
3: Initial start could take longer then your used too
4: Some people have informed me that their SD Chip is not getting recognized, FLASH SuperSu to fix that problem
5: settings has a nasty bug, so far under 2 options ( Vibration Intensity and change keyboard ) <-- I am working on a solution to the problem.
New Build Works Except For:
1:Vibrator Intensity
2:Keyboard Switcher

Bugs:I will not post anything without first testing it my self. Must understand that this rom was really never intended for a tabet.
There will be some bugs if not more then some. But as time goes on, ill try and work out as many as I can. As I said, I am new to building roms.
I just like this rom alot and since there wasnt one done for the (T800) I though I would give it a try. Turns out, That it worked.. With a few modifications.
1: First boot after flash Can take long
2: Boot Animation screen doesnt show up ( At least it didnt for me ) Use a program to add a boot screen if you must.
3: The initial setup Connection can take a long time. Might have to hit back and skip and back again. (Might just be my network)
4: Soft keys, I need to figure out a patch or something that will let me turn them off or on. (Might already be one there)

Does google play movies work? On other cm builds I tried for this device a while ago play movies didnt work and what about sd cards any issues there if not I well use this as well.
Great ROM! The one I always wanted! SD card works fine, and the initial setup connection was fast for me. Some features crash in settings such as vibration intensity. But really good so far!

Now SD chip question, My Tablet has a 128gb SD Chip. I had no problems up to running Blisspop for a few days. Then it stopped showing up. This isnt BlissPop. I havent had any problems with this ROM in that market that
your asking about. This is my Daily Driver Rom on my LG G3 T-Mobile.. Its updated pretty much everyday. (Dont expect me to build everyday). They are also the first to use WakeLock Blocker, But my sources could be wrong on that. Anyhow. Give it a try and see if it works out for you.. As long as you have a nandroid backup your ok.
Thanks for being a developer for this Rom so that both of my device run the same rom.
Runs great for my use on my One Plus One & the Sm-T800.
Just installed this on my T800 tab and I can't see my SD card.

Which one did you install? I just released 20150316? Because I havent even flashed the 20150316 yet.. But everyone on the 20150215 said that worked.
Did you clean or dirty flash ?

I just flashed the 20150316 and my sd card is still there. hmm. when you installed it, did you wipe dalvik and cache? Thats what I always do.
If anyone else is having this issue please post it along with how you flashed it, Clean,Dirty did you wipe dalvik and cache.
I for one havent had that issue yet. I try and make it a point to flash my roms before I release them, but sometimes I dont get the time to do it right then.
Anytime I install an udate, I always wipe Dalvik and Cache then I nandroid backup. Then I install the update, then the gapps then supersu and whatever other mods I might have laying around.
Anytime I install a new rom, I aways wipe everything after my nandroid backup.
Kinda hard for me to pin point your sd problem till I know what steps you took on flashing it. because my sd card works. and I have a 128gb card. Which can be a problem if not done right.

Hi, Yes I did a dirty flash for the new update install.
Edit There was one thing that I didn't do that I normally do which is flash supersu while in recovery, so I have now flashed supersu and I can now see my sd card.

Wow, Thats strange. I didnt really think that flashing supersu would really make that much of a diffrents.

Read the OP of my rom and the commit messages from my repos, if using my source (you are welcome to use it, as you know - but propably you should mention that in OP, 'cause someone with the sd issue could have answered this earlier, if one would have known... ).
I use module support in my kernel. Some filesystems are modules. Thesemare loaded automatically by an init.d script. Executing scripts from init.d is not longer wanted from aosp/cm devs. I reemabled it quite brute force by patching the already running sepolicy - that only works with @Chainfires SuperSU but not with build in superuser.
Who wants to only use an opensource SuperSU (what I totally understand) can manually execute the modulloading and systemtuning - for details see OP of my cm12 builds.
EDIT: I consider having a modularized kernel and init.d support for scripts not an issue.

Can i just install the ModGoogleCamera_5.1.018_R4X_v.4.5.apk to be able to use google camera so i don't have to reflash?
Just a bit concerned to install it because virus total says it has a virus? Result below..

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Q. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work), GApps are already included for some a/b devices.
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.3 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

FAQ
1) When official?
I haven't decided if I want to go official or not.
2) Will there be regular updates?
Atleast once/month, usually after aosp security patch is merged.
Apart from that, Ill release a new build in case of major bugs that breaks the ROM to be used as daily driver.
3) Reporting bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if
• if you didn't perform a clean install.
• if you're running a custom kernel.
• if you've installed Xposed.
• if you're using battery/thermal mods.
4) How to report bugs?
• Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
• Mention what custom stuffs you've installed in the rom, like Magisk modules, etc.
• If the problem disappears after disabling selinux, disable SELinux and grab logs using SysLog app.
• If its a random reboot, grab dmesg. [Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless.]
5) Disabling SELinux
Needs root. You can disable SELinux via the following options.
• SELinux Mode Inverter Magisk module
• SELinuxModeChanger App
• Terminal Emulator App
To disable SELinux using a terminal emulator, run the following commands
Code:
> su
> setenforce 0
6) Taking Logs
Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.
• Using adb
• Using MatLog app
• Using SysLog app for audit logs

I had issues in settings with dirty flash and D2TW setting disappeared, so said that clean flash is necessary. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm not sure if that could be the issue.
But flashing firmware zip won't cause any issue even if you're flashing firmware after flashing ROM. You may try flashing the correct firmware as they're are global & Chinese firmware. Thanks.

Thanks in advance!
(P.S. so far the ROM looks awesome!!!!)

For other user information, the ROM support disabling sim card (i was looking on the wrong place)
To disable sim card go to:
Settings- network & internet - sims - select the sim card - and togle the switch on/off to use Sim card.
If anyone knows any way to schedule on/off Sim card please let me know.
