I'm seeing know where that says no and the guidon XDA mentions the G950U with correct build number and says nothing specifically about x phone can't do it.
Can it? I see nothing around here about it.
Well I took the plunge and let mine update to U5CRL1then just used the update path on Firmware science to DRL7 now have One Ui. But letting you know once you update past U2 or S2 bootloader there is no going back and no root.

Yeah that was pulled from firmware science. Your already on the build you need to be on. Go to firmware science install the DRL7 zip move to sd card and flash from stock recovery

Download the zip.
Once downloaded, move it to sd card.
Move anything you want to save from internal storage as this will wipe your phone.
Once you have zip moved to sd card and anything you want saved, power off phone.
Boot to stock recovery (power/bixby/volume up
Scroll down to update from sd card.
Select it then locate the zip, once located click it phone will install the update. It will take awhile. If it boots back to recovery just do a system wipe and all will be fine.

If you don't know how to use adb read up on it. I have not used it for this method but I use it for other things, you don't have an sd card you can throw in device just to load the zip?

It may be a security patch which will affect rooted devices, ofcourse you can re-root but just a heads up

How is your s7 edge still on that firmware? I have the s7 edge unlocked and sim free from Samsung in the UK and have received the June update. If you haven't received it yet download it from sammobile.com and flash it through odin you won't lose any data on your phone.

I have a firmware waiting to be downloaded from samsung but I am scared to update my phone. I am use to having an iPhone and if you update your iPhone you lose your jailbreak. I don't know how it works with samsung so I am holding off until I get more clarification.
Try rebooting your phone if you want that update. That's what happened to me and I have the same model as you.

The first update came last week and the second one came a couple days ago. I guess the second update has patches for the first update.

Have you tried Greenify? You can use it with or without Root. In your case without. It will hibernate many apps to save your battery.

I setup greenify, but I'm not sure if it will help much if the apps killing my battery are related to the android os and android kernel which it will not shut down.
Do all Android phones have this issue? Or is it better with the newer phones like s8
I need to stay with a att branded phone because I need wifi calling

I am on an att s7 edge and I have been getting great battery life. Here's my latest stat, although I am rooted.

Android pay works but Samsung pay does not.
I froze everything on the bloat list in Packager Disabler Pro. And a few other things on the system list. Like Direct TV and most of the Samsung junk.

As for rooting I followed this procedure: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502
But for applying the root.bat I used this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71700562&postcount=688
I have been running the root for about 6 weeks now and have not had any problems with the two post above. Just follow the root.bat in post #688 and make sure you follow the way @Quickvic30 says in that post. You should have no problems and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
Will this work on QE1 build?

Yes in the post it gives you how to return to stock. Before doing anything, make sure you have all the files on your computer. Get the latest stock files, I believe QD2. I know QE1 is the latest version but I had QD2 and got QE1 Ota. Then both version of Odin 3.12.3 and 3.12.7. Get the Adb drivers and the root.bat files. And finally the eng.img provided in the first post.

What did you do to get that great of battery life? I was just rooted but went back to help with battery and performance. Just curious I might want to root again
I followed the 2 links in the above post. Just follow those and you should not have any problems. Make sure you follow the instructions in the #688 post and that will install the ROOT.BAT and make a few tweaks that will help with lag and your battery.

I'm just curious because right now I'm getting alright battery life but I want it to be a lot better then what it is. I actually even just got a battery case because of how bad it is
