That is Amazing total of 11 hours.
30 minutes fortnite and 4 hours screen on time with almost 60% battery.
Can you tell me what is your brightness level?

It was near half for majority of the day. Plugged it in at 20% and my stats were 16hrs 40mins usage and a SOT of 7hrs 45mins.

Near 50% is enough for the Eyes Specially While browsing using One ui and gaming to save power.
I see no Reason to complain.
I don't think the battery tech can improve any better.
So I am not sure why you complain about Android Hog.
If you pull 16 Hours with about 7 Hours SOT then your Phone is Fine standby wise.

That's good to hear, I was curious about how much it should use since this is my first time back on Android in about 4 years.

Well there haven't been any in depth tests done yet but last year the exynos chip (s9/ note 9) was a complete trainwreck in regards to performance/ battery life. Was sort of hoping that the battery life would be better this year.
That said it's impossible to compare like for like on here so the difference could just be down to usage patterns

Hi all,
Here is 10e full day of lte. Exynos model.
I apologise that the result on the standart S10 will be somewhere near.
It's easy to get 7-8 hours with WiFi
I am Very interested to see many results of QSD model, I think Samsung modem is bad as always

So I checked the hardware info using the CPU-Z app and it turns out that my phone has the Exynos 9820 in it and not the the Snapdragon 855 which is what it should have for the Latin America region?

What do you think???
With not so good cell reception (as he said) and so many wake-locks, I think it's pretty good!

Now lets see how the battery handles while playing Ingress!
I would be very happy with this if it is typical usage!
If I can actually get anywhere near this I will be very Happy.
Not as good as I was hoping, but still reasonable. That's right around what I've been averaging with my Moto X.
Not good at all.
The wake locks are horrible!
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I think that is looking decent, with 13% of the battery used being on 'Cell standby' it is clear that reception was not good during the day. On my nexus 5 when cell reception is good Cell standby barely registers on the list. Max of 5% usually. So would we be looking at 6.5 hours screen time if reception is good? Also no indication that battery saving has been used or not (doesn't look like it is, on the screenshots as the notification/nav bar are not orange). Or what screen brightness set.
Who knows. It is all guessing until more reviews are out.

Just what I was thinking
Sent from my Nexus 7
Yes, same with me. On my Nexus 5 with quite good reception the "mobile standby" is less than 5%.
With that in mind, we will have more than this.
And see those wake-locks, horrible.
Probably some apps, services, or accounts need to be properly setup and configured.
More battery life from that.
And for more extreme, we can use darker theme
So, I am OK with this early report, it's a GOOD BASE!

I'm seeing similar wakelocks on my nexus 5 with the last preview. The one before it had much better battery life, at least for me. I think kitkit has better battery life than lpx19D. so much for improved battery savings in 5.0.

Yeah me too. My N5 was charged fully yesterday morning and it just sat at my house untouched all day, and by the time I went to bed it was at 75%, which is pathetic. That's the last dev preview. On KK, it still would have been at 100%, or at worst 99%. I didn't investigate what was causing it, but that was bone stock without a single app installed. It shouldn't be like that. Hopefully the final version won't have that issue.

I agree but some people take these findings to heart and if the battery doesn't live up to their expectations they have an aneurysm.

Battery life

Hello!
I am using the exynos version of galaxy s7 edge .
I am having battery problem and feeling that my battery drains fast than normal, on light- medium use it can drain 10% on 1.5 hour .
Sometimes my 'android system ' drains more battery than my screen time .
I disable the 'sync' option but compared to other users on this forum my battery life pretty bad..
Thanks for any help!

first, give it atleast 2-3days to settle down and you will see improvments. second, do you mean 1.5h SOT or just with the screen turned of doing nothing? third, the battery seems to go down pretty fast from 100% to about 86% but then evens out. what is your SOT?

there is no problem for you, mine does almost the same..it`s quick in the begining then slows down rapidly at around 86%.
I get 6.5 to 9h SOT with the same drop in % as you with about 38h of total use.

seems like a bit high in system drain and chrome..try using the stock browser instead and see if it does any wonders..also clear cache and see if that helps..otherwise it seems normal to me :\
The s7 edge drops battery fast from 100 to about 85 percent. Then it takes it's time. Once it hits 60, it drops slower, and once it hits 39, it drops slower again. Most of my screen on time comes from between 40% and 1%. Nevertheless, try deleting everything and starting fresh again but flash the firmware from another country using Odin

battery life

Can anyone with >4 hours sot post screenshots of their battery life? I'm only trending at 3.5 and the only problematic things are Android system and Android os. Already used 250mah after 3 hours off the charger. Google now is turned off and used PDP already but not on system apps
Same here....on snapdrag...
Honestly my battery life is pretty add. Back on the s7 edge during build 4 of the night beta my standby time was incredible. It stayed on 100 percent for 2 hours (although I did use it for about 15 minutes thought the 2 hours) and I expected the same with this phone even though it has a smaller battery. But I can't even squeeze out 11 hours and that's with PDP (disabling all bloat and even bixby and some other small things). I'm considering a factory reset to see if that helps
Um..... My battery life on the s8 plus is the best I've ever had, on any device, with or without a custom rom. The stand by I get is incredible and screen time is always over five hours.
Already got almost 5 hours 40 min SOT and still have 40% battery left.

Yes mate! It can kill your battery very fast. I've lost 20% battery in an hour after leaving my phone in a gym locker with very poor reception with my S7 Edge. The worse the signal is, the harder that phone is working to stay connected. As a consequence, you get huge battery drain in areas with poor reception no matter which brand of phone you use.

I have to say battery life's been very good. Get almost 6 hours sot everyday. T mobile s8 here.
Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
I also have been getting 6+ hours so since I got mine this past Thursday. Just yesterday I got 7.5 hours sot over a 28 hours off the charger period. It's pretty damn good.
AOD is off. Turned off wifi and Bluetooth scanning.
Don't have bixby setup or enabled.
No disabled apps.
Have the S8+ btw
AOD is the killer - I probably hover around 5-6 hrs SOT with AOD enabled, 6+ hours easily with AOD disabled.
On my second charge I got just over 6 hours. I have the Canadian model which comes with Snapdragon. I have it set to WQHD+, AOD on, 50% brightness, changed a few things in settings, and use Package Disabler Pro to disable things I don't use. Its quite hard for me to drain the battery on this phone compared to the Note 5 I had.
Battery is better than my note 5.
I charged phone two times now every time sot at 5:30 hours with 15% left

I feel like I received a different phone from everyone else. On a normal day, I do 4 hour of SOT, start at 730 in the morning, finish at midnight with 50% battery left. This is with hundreds of emails received every day, youtube, web browsing, and maybe algal hour of calls.
Not quite sure how gsmarena got such a poor battery rating on this thing.

Good ..6 hours for me... But mainly on WiFi...
Im switching Roms frequently so Cant Tell much about battery.
But yeah I also wonder why everyone is rating it bad, because damn much phones have same sized ?.
Sure my overall experience is kind of sad, because I'm coming from a Moto z play where I got 2-3 days with 9+ hours SOT.
On AOSP based ROMs I had to charge it 1-2 times a day, which is ridiculous nowadays
But now on epic rom I find it hard to kill battery in 1 day, even if im trying to. I'm now at 50% after 7 hours of use with bit less than 3 hours SOT
I guess that's a good thing
1 hour calls. Set on 3G network.
Screen brightness ~30%. Was used 99% indoor so I dont need more screen light.
Browsing, facebook and some youtube on Wi-Fi. Only about 20 minutes on mobile data.
Here are my stats after first charge/discharge cycle

I'd Def say it was less than 2% for sure, but I have a pretty good mobile signal all the time which definitely helps.
My word is absolute. So believe me when I say. Battery life of Mi Mix 2 is Fuking Godly. This phone never dies no matter how much I abuse. I will be looking to charge the phone but it got so much juice left still.

I believe they reworked the doze feature, meaning App-suspending.

Question Battery Drain

How's the battery drain on your device?
mine seem to drain really quickly...just using chrome it can drain almost 1% a minute.
For me, it's pretty good, I have 5-6h SOT in almost 48h

Awesome... In my previous Mi11 Xiaomi i had 3.5/4hrs SOT Max, now with a full usage (Game, Call, Web, Music (Deezer), GPS (Waze)) i have without proble 6.5/7.5 hrs SOT.
It's the phone with the best optimisation i've never had.
It seems it's true this SoC has really been optimized for Nothing, you can feel the difference like a homemade SoC (Tensor, Apple)

Its below other 778G phones. Such battery is normal in midrange and 888 was the worst Snapdragon
Do You experience high drain after the night? Like 8-10 hours of sleep result is like 12-14% drain.
It should be like 0,3-0,6% per hour max.
Battery life for me hasn't been impressive. On 1.1.3, I unplug at 5am and by 4-5pm I am down to 20% battery while running on LTE with 5G option off. Average SOT on such cases is around 5hrs. No gaming, just messaging, a few calls, browsing and streaming YouTube, and listening to music. So for my use case scenario it will usually die before I can get home from work.
Guys I've found that for some reason, on my EU 1.1.3 version, there is an app called Log Tool (NTLogTool.apk) which is draining my battery all the time. I checked all the apps, and pretty sure that Nothing internal apps is the reason. I disabled and restricted apps, as you can see on screenshot. Now it only takes 6% for 8 hours sleep, before was 15-20%!

I don't even have this and my battery life is REALLY good. Maybe you forgot to uncheck unnecessary things when you configure your phone ?

but it's the nft stuff right? I don't have any apps nft related, but you even have NFT Gallery. I don't remember exactly but I think you could have deactivated the web 3 stuff when you configure your phone on a higher firmare.

When the phone came, it was on 1.0.2, and I've configured phone on this version, than it was updated to 1.1.3. There is no possibility to update to 1.1.3 first

Just an example... But seems like battery capacity is calculated wrong with FKM.

But it's true, used the phone around 2 weeks and the accubattery app says 10 hours sot. I mainly use reddit, whatsapp, discord and youtube.
