Call Forwarding Settings - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I'm using my 6T on AT&T. On my previous phone (an HTC One m7 that I used for 5 years), I used a MMI code to increase the time before unanswered calls go to voicemail. The code includes the phone number that the calls are forwarded to. I tried to get that number by using the code *#61# but it returned "Not Forwarded" on all call types. I dug into Call Settings>Call Forwarding and all the settings are set to "Off". If I go into any of the settings it prompts to enter a forwarding number. Is it just me or does everybody else's phone not show this info?
When I do get a call that goes unanswered, it is forwarded to voicemail and I'm notified and am able to retrieve it, either by calling my voicemail box or using the visual voicemail app. So voicemail is working normally. I just find it odd that I'm not able to get the forwarding number information. Is this because the phone is not AT&T branded/certified?
Do these MMI code things still work like they used to? Or have things changed & I'm not able to modify this setting any longer?

I am having the same issue. When trying the codes or going into settings I get the same results error. Never had this issue with my other phones. Did u add the IMEI to att? Just wondering cause I didn't. Using the imei of my galaxy s6.

Yes. I added the IMEI from the 6T when I first got it.

Ok so it's not an imei issue. I don't know what it is but would love to hear from someone with att that got it working.

bumping this message!
Just to be certain, you are sure that putting your own number in is correct for voicemail retrieval?
The reason I ask is that searching Google for "Rogers Voicemail Retrieval Number" brought back this link.
Regards,
Dave
I have the exact same problem. Hero set my own number to voicemail. I called up rogers and they gave me the number to fetch my voicemail manually. I saved it in my phone-book and gave it a speed-dial number.

[How to] Get your Voice-Mail Number! (Have you lost it??)

Have you lost your Voicemail number?
Do you not know what the heck it could be??
To solve this problem, simply do the following:
1) Open dialer
2) Dial: *#67#
3) There is your voicemail number.
P.S: Not everyone's voicemail is the same number. Reason the code is the best reason.
Please move this to general.

good tip. wrong forum
Not necessarily. If you have changed your call forwarding number (e.g. google voice) then it will show the google voice number, not the tmo number.

Interesting..
I for example have no number set at all.. my voicemail number is blank.
When I send that command, it gives me the phone number of my phone carrier's voicemail.
And yes, might be in the wrong place..
Im not a mod/admin.. i cant move it.
i dial 123 and it goes right to my vmail...
i use 123 as well
123 is what I use also, assuming visual voicemail isn't working.
You can call t mobile and ask for your voice mail number. If for some unknow reason they ask why you need it say google voice removed it. I had the same problem, no voicemail after update to 6 1 1, fixed with a phone call.

please don't start b.s, the code works well. If it doesn't work for you it's a different story.
so please stop making wrongful accusations that it does not work.
thanks a lot. worked like a charm
I think it all depends on if you still have T-Mobile as the carrier with your myTouch 3G phone. I have AT&T and the 123 code does not work with it. I think that is the same issue that the others are running into.
Any other clues or help you guys can give?
Worked in At&t for me. Thanks

[Q] google voicemail setup problem

Cannot forward to Google Voice number for voicemail on Nexus 4

Can any one help me.
I am having similar issues. With straight talk t mobile

Op, are you on T-Mobile? If so, I didn't think Google voice voicemail works be cause they don't allow call forwarding. I could be wrong but that might be the issue.
EDIT: I meant T-Mobile pre-paid, not postpaid
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Are you on prepaid? It won't work with T mobile pre paid plans at least.
Also, make sure you aren't on WIFI, for some reason it wouldn't work on wifi(but this was with the S3 and wifi calling) but you can try.
Also, try doing it from the voice website, it'll give you a code to input and that may work.
Mine works fine and I am on T-Mobile. Go to your phone, then hit settings. Then go to Voicemail and make sure the service is set to Google Voice.

did you set up the app on your phone? (install, configure, go to phone -> settings -> voicemail and check Google Voice) and then go to voice.google.com on your PC, settings, Phones tab, Activate voicemail -> get the MMI code from there?
mine has worked fine on AT&T for years doing the above steps.
EDIT: see screenshot... where mine says "deactivate voicemail", are you clicking "Activate Voicemail" to get your MMI code? that's where it needs to come from... (just trying to trouble-shoot for ya).

Google Voice and T-Mobile
This is what I did to work on T-Mobile.
Google voice will work for text, making calls, and catching voicemails for missed calls. However, if you ignore the call, it will go to your T-mobile voicemail.
What I did was call T-mobile and told them to deactivate my vm (it's a common request they get)
Then I created a contact in my phone book and I entered my tmobile (not gv number) and I set the option to sen to VM whenever called
Then I wen into the voicemail options and changed the number of the VM (put this number in the contacts as well as you might want to reference it later) from the t-mobile number to the google voice number
After than, google voice works like normal. No need to set up conditional call forwarding.

Im new to sprint, and got S7 edge but it keeps using the visual vm. I tried unsubscribing but it is still the default Voicemail, i dont want the app. I cant uninstall it.
On my note4 it gave you like a 30 day trial. I agree I didn't want it but it nags you to buy it. Just keep saying no, but enjoy the trial
Same here I had to contact tech support and have them remove it from my account

There were no steps on my part. I called and said hey this visual voice is annoying. The tech support person said "I'll remove it from your account" and that was it. Try logging into your Sprint account and under "additional services" click "remove." Then just disable/uninstall it on your phone

So what do you have in the bottom left corner of your phone keypad currently? Is the icon still there? If you click it what happens?

My wish is that we all slow down when we read and re-read before we post a reply. As you can read bLueBry said "I have an unlocked s7 930p" a sprint phone "my carrier is att."

New unlocked S7 doesn't have a voicemail app - how to get voicemail?

I just bought one of the newly released unlocked S7's. First let me say it is awesome. No bloat and numerous settings that were blocked by Verizon are available now. I popped in my sim and everything works great. The only one problem is that the voicemail app is not on the phone. When someone leaves me a message, I get some wierd cryptic text message. I can dial my own number and retrieve the messages the old fashioned way. After I delete a message, I get another cryptic text message. I assume these messages are supposed to be telling the voicemail app how many messages there are in my inbox. Does anyone know how I can either get a working Verizon voicemail app on my phone or stop these text messages at least?

That's what I thought. I tried installing a Verizon voicemail app from the Play store but it repeatedly crashes and doesn't work at all. It did not look like the standard voicemail app that is preinstalled on the Verizon branded S7. I would like to get the APK that is preinstalled and give it a try but I haven't been able to find it yet.

Are you forwarding the Verizon phone number to the google voice number ? I use Google Voice a little but I didn't think it could handle the voicemail on the carriers system.
I have also notice that the video calling option is not available in the dialer on the unlocked phone. Not a big deal to me but it is one more small sacrifice to have the unlocked phone. I haven't looked for a work-around yet.

Thanks. I already have my google voice voicemail set up and working. I was looking for a way to get the Verizon phone number's mailbox working with visual voice mail. I had to call Verizon and have them add the "block visual voice mail" feature to my line so that I would stop getting the cryptic text messages every time I received or deleted a message. To save someone else some grief, if you do this, you must reboot your phone before the blocking system change takes effect.
I'm using the old fashioned voice mail service now on my Verizon number. It is tedious but I don't get many messages so I can live with it. My battery life seems to be slightly better on this phone than my old Verizon branded S7. My wife inherited the old S7 when the unlocked version was released. Well played Samsung.

After doing this, do you get any sort of notification when you have new voice mails?
I didn't mind the cryptic texts (in fact, I was able to determine what much of what it meant), but at least those texts let me know I had a new message. But recently they seem to have stopped, so now I get no notification I have a new voice mail

Yes, I get the typical voicemail icon up in the notification bar. My dialer has the number one key set to long-press speeddial my voicemail and enter my password for me. This way it is not much of an inconvenience not having VVM.

When you setup google voice correctly by forwarding your carrier number to google voice you will get it all in one place. It sounds like you setup Gvoice incorrectly. Don't use the setup from the app, use the setup on the website it will guide you in doing the phone code you have to enter to forward your number.

The way I was able to get google voicemail to work was go into settings, phone, call forwarding, turn on call forwarding, unanswered calls and then put my google voice number there.
Isn't there some setting that can be used to enable it? I was using Lineage 14.1 on my HTC One m7 right before buying my 930u, and that had visual voicemail built into it that worked out of the box with Verizon.

I was able to pull the APK from my friend's Verzion S7, but when I try to install it fails saying a package already exists with that name. I can't find the package on my phone though. The package name is "com.samsung.vvm" according to pm on the device. I pulled it using these instructions.
