Semi Bricked Mate 8 :( - Mate 8 General

Hello hope someone can help please have been trawling forums for a week now without getting anywhere.
I was running nxt-l29c636???? tried to upgrade via app firmware finder, first two I picked just failed then I picked older one thinking I might need to go from android 6 to 7 then to 8
Now it's stuck in a loop.
The firmware I picked looked like it was installing but failed early on 1 or 2 %
I can get to erecovery - does nothing and I've tried copying update.app to SD card and holding three button method but it does nothing.
When I fastboot it and rescue mode my phone status is locked.
Anyone know how I can recover please?
Ideally just want to flash it and if so it'd be great if it was android 8
Thanks for looking

Which tools do I use to flash using fastboot please?

you can search on how to flash using fastboot method but i don't know if it require to unlock your bootloader first or not

ok so I've been looking all night on internet and trying various things but it seems as my phone is locked I can't use fastboot or adb (it gives command not allowed with fast boot)
but does at least communicate with (fastboot devices)
does this mean I need to root my phone first?
How do I do this please?

unfortunatly huawei no longer support to unlock the bootloader and there is no free method to do this
there is other methods to restore your device and unlock your bootloader but it will cost you money you can try somthing like dc unlocker or you can go to the repair centers

ok so I bought DC Phoenix which is a great program and done online chat too which was very helpful and managed to flash a stock ROM. BUT when it wanted step 2 (the phone to be put in upgrade mode) wasn't sure it was going to do this for me or it wanted me to do this, but either way I cannot get the phone into upgrade mode by holding the volume up and volume down key + power
it just power cycles or keep the huawei logo on the screen and eventually gives options like factory default and wipe cache etc.
Decided to flash it in advanced mode with DC phoenix and it claims successful and doesn't ask for upgrade mode but now booting the phone gives#
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly
(1) Press power key to continue - tried and just reboots to the same
(2) Press Volume Up key up to 3 seconds to enter recovery to restore your device - does nothing
(3) Your device will stop start if there is no operation
Can still boot into Fastboot mode
I'm stuck, anyone can offer help please?
My phone is Asia firmware NXT-L29C636 so I've used stock that claims to be for that region. but I see if DC Phoenix log a mention of Build number: NXT-C900B170
Model: HUAWEI NXT-L29
Is that what DC Phoenix is detecting that's it just now?

phone bricked? Need help!

Hi guys massive android noobie here!
I really hope you guys can help me cause I am desperate!
This is what happened: I tried to manually update my phone B200 to B313. I had no luck with the update.zip so I tried the update.app (superstupid). As you guys might know, this resulted in a bootloop.
I downloaded Huawei firmware extractor and adb. I have two problems on top of a not working phone:
1: when i try to extract my firmware i just get a system.img, no boot.img or the other one you need
2: i managed to unlock my bootloader, but whenever i use adb devices it stays empty, fastboot reboot works though... weird
How do I get my lovely device working again?
Kind regards,
Jurgen
Flash B200 again with 3 button method, should work
Extract zip files and copy update.app on SD card, in dload folder

I tried to do something similar, although I screwed it up even further. Prior to attempting this entire process, I was using GRA-L09 build B171. After attempting to install B317 from B171, I got stuck in a bootloop between the Huawei logo and TWRP. I realized that my mistake was probably because I had TWRP instead of the stock ROM. Therefore, I downloaded the B170 full firmware and extracted the B170 files. I tried to use fastboot to flash boot.img system.img and recovery.img according to bihsik's guide, but fastboot could never recognize my device. So I decided to be "smart" and transfer Boot.img and recovery.img from the B170 firmware to my dload folder on my external sd card on the phone and install them directly from TWRP.
This screwed everything up, and now I'm stuck in Rescue Mode with "Error! Func NO : 11 (recovery image) Error NO : 2 (load failed!)"
I've searched google and XDA forums and have tried the methods here and here but without any luck.
Is there a way to fix my phone?

GRA-UL10 - Bootloop

Hello, I have a P8 stuck in bootloop after failed update from HiSuite. I cannot access device recovery and can only access FastBoot & Rescue mode. I tried the instructions found here however every time cmd prompts say Failed (remote command not allowed). What can I do to unbrick this phone? I do not mind losing any data as this is my backup phone however, I wish to recover from bootloop. Help is appreciated. Sorry for noob question. Thank You so much.
I had the exact same problem and just fixed it.
If you have the product ID then you can get the boot loader unlock code from the EMUI website. As I couldn't get onto the phone this was no help. There is a product id generator using IMEI and Product model but couldn't get it although others had success.
Tried putting items on sd micro card etc all the button combos etc. But wouldn't work.
I had to download something called DC-Phoenix and pay 15 euros (£12), very wary. But downloaded the lowest firmware I could for my device B130 and then had to install through that and the usb.
I'm annoyed I had to spend money but it did work, tried looking for cracks keygens etc, so bit the bullet. I'd say try everything, but this was the way it worked. Has a backdoor built into it that changes the boot loader to unlock and does all the fast boot. I just wish someone could find what this backdoor is for the future. As of now I've made sure to get the product id and boot loader code for future problems rather than spend over and over.
Good Luck

I had similar problem only was able to access Bootloader because i wiped system with TWRP, after some hours of searching i find out that:
What you need is able to use ADB and fastboot on your pc and have a sd card, then:
1. Download HuaweiUpdateExtractor http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3262545.
2. Download any stock firmware which have UPDATE.APP file.
3. Use HuaweiUpdateExtractor and extract UPDATE.APP to a lot of smaller files.
4. Move RECOVERY.IMG to adb folder and install it through command line using adb fastboot.
5. Good job now you can use recovery again, now you need to use SD card and put a folder named dload and inside download firmware which is named UPDATE.APP
6. Reboot your phone and now hold Volum UP+DOWN+POWER and huawei recovery will begin, just dont forget to remove usb cable sometimes you get trouble when updating.
If you didn't use ADB fastboot then it will be harder to understand but you can find guides how to use it.
Hope that will help.

I fix my huawei p8 gra l09 bootloop. First download dc phoenix make sure you have user and credit 15 and 8 for hcu to repair imei. On dc phoenix download flash file on dc support GRA-Ul00 mb 630 and flash via fastboot after flash huawei boot and enable usb debu and flash full via fastboot on dc phoenix and repair imei via hcu
UPDATE: I used DC Phoenix and managed to recover my phone. The experience was smooth and easy. I would recommend this site. Well worth the $15 as I didn't have to wait 14 days for Huawei's bootloader code.

P 8 lite bootloop on stock firmware

Hello all,
I have Huawei P8 lite bought from Romania. I install the android 6 and I wanted to go back to 5, so I go trough the steps on the official huawei website :
1) download an install rollback package - all went fine, the B500 firmware was shown
2)download an install B132 - on this step the problem appear; after the installation the phone is in a continuous bootloop, it can;t even shut down for good. I hear the start up sound, then if I press the volume keys it's beeping, so somehow is booting but without showing nothing(strange random colors ). The PC is recognizing the phone, but ADB won't .
The phone isn't going in to the recovery mode or update mode.
I search the forum and found methods to unbrick the phone, but only using fastboot. Since my phone isn't rooted , I can't use this method. What can I do?

There is a program called Huawei product ID generator. You need Imei,Serial no.(both are on the box) and Product ID (via Huawei product ID generator). Through this you can obtain unlocking code
In Fastboot and rescue mode type this in minimal adb and fastboot
fastboot oem unlock XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Where XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is the unlocking code.

Last question - does the bootloader unlock wipe the user data on the phone? I want somehow to extract it before flashing any ROM over. So my idea was to unlock it, flash some better recovery and make a backup of data partition.
I don't have that option
Maybe it appear when the devices is connected.

you have to put your original firmware with the dload folder in to root of your sd card with another phone or sd card adapter. then put that sd card to your p8 lite. then hold both volume keys with power button and when the huawei logo pops up count to 12 seconds and then release power key and hold both volume keys until it starts restoring

[working & tested] unbrick bnd-l24

Many users on this forum have a bricked Honor 7X (BND-L24 variant) and haven't found a working guide to breath life back into their devices. Fortunately, I found a method that appears to have fixed my BND-L24 that was running on oreo. Maybe it will work for you too. Nougat users, feel free to try this method on your devices. Just know that I am not responsible for any damage or anything else should your bricked-phone-situation go from bad to worse.
********REQUIREMENTS********
1. microSD card ---> You need one of those adapter things to access the microSD card on your computer. We're going to be moving files to this little guy.
2. TWRP recovery --> We're going to be flashing a zip so stock recovery won't work here. Don't worry, once we flash the zip, TWRP will be gone
3. HuRUpdater_0.3.zip --> I know there is a HuRUpdater_0.2.zip too but I used HuRUpdater_0.3.zip when I unbricked mine so . . . that's what we're gonna use. You can download it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279 Don't forget to thank the developer!
********STEPS********
1. First things first. Download these three files:
update.zip
update_full_BND-L24_hw_usa.zip
update_data_full_public.zip
2. Once downloaded, rename them as listed here. THIS STEP IS NOT OPTIONAL
update_full_BND-L24_hw_usa.zip -----> update_all_hw.zip
update_data_full_public.zip -----> update_data_public.zip
DO NOT RENAME update.zip
3. Make a folder on the microSD card. You can name it whatever you would like. For the purposes of this guide, I named mine "Recovery". Move all four of the zips (or archives, whatever you wanna call them) that you downloaded to this new "Recovery" folder. Then eject the microSD card.
4. Insert the microSD card into your paperweight, I mean bricked Honor 7X. Then boot into TWRP.
5. In TWRP, tap on "Install". Then browse to your external SD card and tap on "HuRUpdater_0.3.zip". Swipe to flash it.
6. Once everything finishes installing, tap on "Reboot" then "System" (I have no idea why you would want to install the TWRP app if you don't have TWRP anymore but . . . to every man his own). When the unlocked-bootloader-warning screen pops up, press and hold the volume up button to boot into eRecovery. Perform a factory reset from there.
7. After the factory reset is completed, say hello to your now fully functional device.
Giving this a try right now. Will report back. Thank you so much!
After flashing HuRUpdater_0.3.zip and holding volume up, it just boots back into TWRP?
Edit: Never mind, I'm dumb and didn't press volume down during the flash.

IT WORKED! Thanks so much!!!!!
One error in your directions though:
update_data_full_public.zip -----> update_full_public.zip
should be
update_data_full_public.zip -----> update_data_public.zip

Download HWOTA8. After you extract it there is a twrp image in it. There is also a stock recovery image in it incase something goes wrong. There is a thread here on twrp. You will come across a twrp image by sudeep. You can use it too. Although it didn't work perfectly for me. Use adb or multitool to flash them
my phone is bricked... thus the bootloader is locked... i cant flash to it.
Bricked as in display won't turn on?
when i turn it on, it comes up to erecovery, "download latest version and recovery" will connect to wifi but fail to download. Multi-Tool says bootloader is locked as well.

Try to use the service rom.
The erecovery thing does not work, exceptaybe on Chinese version of rom, it seems
Thank you so much! I have tried every other method on this forum over the past few months and wasted countless hours. I could not get ANY other method to work. This worked perfectly the very first time. Thanks!!!
Not sure what you mean by use the service rom... I can't flash the ROM because the bootloader is locked.

The service rom does not need unlocked bootloader.
You do need your unlock code though.
Service rom BND-L21C432

1. Unzip download
2. copy the dload folder to root of sdcard
3. power on phone holding all three buttons
4. After phone finishes and reboots, unlock frp and bootloader, if needed
5. Use Huru or HWOTA to flash correct firmware for your model/ region.
Is there still a way to get the code? I haven't been able to get it
****, I ****ed it up.
Started installing the file without first renaming. TWRP is gone and now I have no way install those files. bootloader is "soft" locked and I'm ****ed...

There is an option to use bnd-l21 service rom. Which will allow you to boot and unlock bootloader again. Then start over with hurupdater.

I got some errors when running the Hur Updater
I'm currently redownloading the files hoping there were download incorrectly the first time or something...
I finally got it working, but I can't install updates. Anyone else have this issue?
I need help
First, I did something and now when it boots it doesn't show the honor logo but it shows the huawei logo and can't progress farther (I swear I didn't try to install another OS)
Second, I can't access twrp but can access fastboot. I have downloaded twrp and was able to access it before I messed up even more to the point that it doesn't show the honor logo
In the fastboot screen, it says PHONE Relocked but when I type in fastboot oem get-info in the terminal of my computer with my honor 7x connected to it and fastboot screen it says (bootloader) unlocked ,so I'm not sure if the bootloader is actually locked or unlocked
So what I'm not sure about is what can I do to access TWRP. I tried installing it again but it didn't work either user error or it's just not possible to
All your help will be very appreciated because I don't have money to get another phone
i really shouldn't have done any of this knowing that I don't have money to get another phone
edit:
I don't think the OEM is unlocked like the thingy from the developer options because I don't see FRP in fastboot screen, just PHONE Relocked
