after update my nokia 6.1 plus to pie it is not scan new photos and mp3 downloaded in sd card in photos and play music automatically. when i download new photos or mp3 in sd card then its necessory to perform restart to see them in specific apps. i take it to service center and downgrade it to 8.1 oreo then no problrm occurs but one day before i update it to pie then the same problrm occurs. when i download new photos and mp3 in sd card it shows in files app but not in photos and play music app.
Plese help XDA.........

I have a 64gig micro SD card and placed music and movie files on there. For a day it worked fine..I was able to play music via samsungs music player and PlayerPro app. Now for whatever reason my phone does not see mp3 on my microSD card. I can still however play movies from my sdcard. Anyone have a similar experience?
I don't think the card is going bad as I can still play movies from it. I think it might be a setting issue.
Quick update. I can navigate to my SD card using My Files app and play the files but the stock music player or 3rd party music player cannot view the files.
Ended up reformatting and restoring sd card. Its a bit annoying since the phone was able to read the sd card still.. just the apps was not able to see whats on there.
Hi all, noob to the s4. Was surprised when it didn't come with sd card. Read about the storage issues a bit. Wanted to put my music library in phone. Installed sd card- success. Camera recognized it, all pics go to the card. Loaded a metric ton of music on the card. Phone works great, all songs play just fine.
Now for the question- plugged the device to the pc for the first since installing the sd card. PC reads "phone" and "card" or something like that. Browse the card for the music files and only a fraction of the songs appear. More detail: My existing music library was mostly organized into artist folders, with a handful of song files not being in a folder. Well it is those songs that show up and only those songs, none of the couple hundred "folders" that have all the music. Weird or....

I am a picasa type of guy and that has always been my preferred viewer. When browsing existing phone camera photos on the pc, the thumbnails are really low res and the files only open with windows picture viewer. Any ideas why? Thanks again, I'm all ears.
Google play music and nor any other app is recognising music if i transfer it frm internal to sd card! Therefore games are movvinf 100% correctly but if i transfer music to sd card ! No any music app is showing the transferred music. I havent transffer any pictures! Though same thing can be happened with pictures too. Any solution?

play music has its own setting to use the external sdcard. Have you tried that?
My music (not GPM) has always been in Sdcard/media/audio/music/ I use the same on every device, poweramp picks it up here a treat.
Since the time I had installed CM 11 my SD card's media is not being displayed in app including Apollo, Gallery, MX Player and even on stock music app.. But I can view image files from QuickPic. I can view the media from other SD card in CM 11 and Stock but I can't view my media in other phones too! I tried formatting and repartitioning many times but in vain except sometimes after that I was able to view them for a little time. Please help me resolve this problem. TIA
Hi guys.I own an unlocked unbranded Canadian lgh873.I have a top of the line 120gb memory card inseted with pics and songs with other stuff also.The stock gallery app only has stuff from internal storage pics and stuff.also music app.no songs from my sd card.Now here is the kicker.when i download a third party app from play store like quick pic it has all my pics from sd card no problem.I am baffled.Can some one help me please?

Did you try rebooting the phone? I had similar issues and rebooting forced the phone to scan for media.

Just tried reboot and no luck.I dont even think it did a media scan wtf.Does the G6 show in notifications running media scan?Im very new to lg.all past phones are Samsung
And once again all pics show up in quick pic app so it must do a media scan on a reboot.
Any thoughts on this?This is not normal for a brand new phone.I tried media scanning apps and still nothing in my pic gallery app or music app.I transfered a couple of pics from sd card to internal memory and opened my pic gallery app and go figure the pics were there.
Does the app have permission to access the memory card? It's a new android thing now.
