Bought the Amazon V35 and about to flash the Google Fi KDZ to it. Anyone have a copy of the stock Amazon KDZ in case I need to go back?

The only thing that page gives me is the Google Fi version. It's actually where I downloaded the Fi version to begin with.

LG G6 H870DS Update

I currently still haven't received the August (or most recent) update for my H870DS v10c-HKG phone. Will flashing the H870DS 10e TWN kdz be compatible with the phone or is there a chance of bricking? The file name is: H870DS10e_00_OPEN_TW_DS_OP_0724.kdz. Thanks!

change firmware on sprint v20

i search all over and could not find the answer.
my question is can i install verizon or us996 firmware on the v20 sprint?
i read on some places that v20 firmware are interchangeble
but i cannot find anything confirming that for sprint version
only other variants.
so to make it easy for me and anyone else asking the same question.flashing different firmware on sprint are even possible or is a no go for sprint version.
Flash only boot and system if you want a working phone -- leave the bootloader and firmware alone....

Still worth getting?

Hi guys, thinking of picking up a V20. Been looking at Chinese phones but keep coming back to the V20. My only concern with it is the carrier check to toggle mobile hotspot. Seems I would need to root to bypass that, and the last phone I rooted was a Note 2 back in the day. I would be using it on cricket, so an AT&T (910) or unlocked (996) variant would be my choice I believe. Anyone give any suggestions or work around besides rooting to get the mobile hotspot to work?

I suggest if you want to root I'd go with the 996, because unless the security patch is 12/16 or earlier you won't be able to root the 910, no kdz available to roll back.
@cnjax While it is true that no KDZ is available for the H910, the H915 KDZ works just fine. The H910 is rootable on the latest (v10t) firmware: link.

Thanks guys, I've found a local person selling a US996 for $200. Gonna go check it out and make sure it looks good. If I get it i'll look into rooting it. So the 996 doesn't matter what security patch it is on correct?

My mistake, based on what I read in the dirty santa thread. Glad you found a work around for later versions.

Frankenstein build of lg g6 !

I've bought a used LG g6 H873 that's stuck on nougut.
this g6 is supposed to be a Canadian version so i was thinking what firmware i download as my phone is bloat free with no randon apps but just lg.
all firmware i find were named as rogers, etc so i tried lg software but that didn't recognize my phone.
than i tried to search with IMEI and it came as an sprint variant. now have tried multiple site's with IMEI and all says i have ls sprint variant... confused and worried what will happen if i go and flash h873 Canadian Oreo, because there's no ls sprint firmware to be found anywhere to roll back.
Use LG Up find the version you need should work for you.

as I've already said, "i have tried lg software" it didn't recognized my phone.
Then possibly it is the drivers you have installed need to be changed. Try changing those.

Your phone probably had a blacklisted IMEI, and so the person your bought it from took the IMEI from a Sprint G6 and slapped it on.
LG Update uses the IMEI along with various other information to determine what version it should apply. Since it doesn't recognize your phone, that makes sense, as there will be mismatches.
Even if it was a Sprint phone, you are safe flashing H873 firmware (all G6s can cross flash except the H872)

thanks Brian, i actually found the culprit, apparently this phone is not Frankenstein but a normal sprint phone that was flashed to a non branded Canadian firmware.
so i went ahead and just flashed the 8.0 of Canadian G6 GSM firmware and it went fine without issues and now i'm on Oreo.

U.S. Unlocked is what you want. Right now there's no difference, but in the future may be. If you're not a Google Fi customer you don't need any possible future restrictions, special carrier rules.
