OnePlus 6T A6010 vs A6013 - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
Recently I bought on Gearbest the OnePlus 6T China version (A6010) and in the product description it says Unlocked for worldwide use. I've already checked and my local area network is compatible, but I'm worried now that there will be other differences than the LTE band.
Will the unlocked A6010 support OTA updates same as the A6013?
Is it possible to flash the global ROM in the chinese version?
Any additional information would ne helpful,
I still have a chance to switch to the Global version but I'll have to pay an additional 150$, is the switch worth the money??
Thank you

I'm using A6010. OTA-wise, there is totally no problem. I got the OTAs the same day it released; maybe because India phones are A6010 too
I don't know about band frequencies

I think that's because the A6010 are officially released for China and India as well. Not sure if that's the case for Europe and other countries

Worse case scenario, use a VPN for OTA or simply download the file manually from the forum and flash it using the "Local Upgrade" in the OTA app.

My update packs have the name started with "A6010". Update packs in the forums are A6013. Not sure if there's anything different, but local update sounds risky.
VPN to Canada works everytime for the last two updates

I'm certain you can flash the full A6013 firmware on a A6010. At least from my experience from the OnePlus 3 I'm not sure what the case with the 6T is. And a lot of these third parties already do that to some devices they ship (at least going by their description)

Here is the actual truth. The 6010 and the 6013 are the exact same phone there is no difference. The only difference is the OS that is loaded on the phone depending on the region it is released. In China, the OS will be Hydrogen OS and in other countries that use Google apps, Oxygen OS will be loaded. You can simply wipe (format) your storage and flash OOS and then you will be able to recieve OOS OTA's.

I'm not sure for A6010, the MSMdownload tool in the forum's has support for the A6013 McLaren edition. You should be fine flashing that.

I have been buying OnePlus devices since the OP 3, from China and the bands have always been exactly the same and the only difference has been HOS versus OOS. Simply wipe your storage and flash the latest OOS rom. OnePlus devices have long been very simple and straightforward devices with unlockable bootloaders.. They have the same bands. Here is the link to the CN OnePlus store: https://www.oneplus.com/cn/6t/specs According to the specs, it uses the exact same bands!

There has always been a difference, even on the OnePlus 3, which I had.
The reason why it may seem to work fine for you and a lot of people is because there are common frequencies that both model support and your network provider might work on those frequencies. However, when you might go to rural areas where LTE/4G signals are weak or non existent then your phone will have to fallback on other frequencies such as 3G or even lower and that's where you might face problems. Again, check all the frequencies that your carrier supports to get the best experience.

Check that the A6010 is compatible with your carrier frequencies. Otherwise I guess it's fine.
It's fine in Estonia and France.

[Q] is it possible to unlock more LTE band on redmi note 4g LTE?

Got a xiaomi redmi note 4g LTE to play with but unfortunately device only supported FDD-LTE band 1, 3 only. Needed band 2, 4 and 7 to be able to work with tmobile USA LTE network. Any ideas on how to add those values to the phone?

the hardware was supported. It's a Snapdragon 410 chipset with 4G LTE world mode. it's Xiaomi who didn't add those bands into the baseband modem. I read some XDA threads about unlocking all LTE bands for Qualcomm Snapdragon chips but I couldn't understand how to add thoae NV values and how to get into the USB settings mode in my Xiaomi device. I need someone with experience to look into this and maybe make some step by steo guide for us. Its been done b4 with oneplusone, oppo, Sony, LG, Samsung phones with success so I knew it could be done.
ok i could be wrong. My friend just brought a moto x to australia and used a process or update to open up some more bands on his phone .

Oh, and as for ROMs unlocking lte bands. I would try the MIUI 5 global ROM. I haven't had a chance to test myself yet but, I would give it a shot. It's the ROM the Hong Kong version comes with out of the box.

I'm still not sure it's possible. I've searched and most people say it's hardware based and ROMs can't change it. If you're already rooted and have custom recovery, you might as well give it a shot and report back.

Same problem here. My carrier uses a LTE frequency not supported by phone. All other carriers are supported, mine is not, frustrating. Installing Mokee (or any other custom ROM, I tried them all) doesn't change a thing. I don't know about MIUI, but don't think it would work.

I have SM-G930P device flashed with G930T firmware. Is it possible?

I recently bought an used unlocked S7 from ebay.com (US).
At the back of the device, the model number displayed is SM-G930P. However in the About Device section, the model number shown as SM-G930T and the latest T-mobile firmware (G930TTMB4APK1) installed.
When I logged in to samsung account for the first time, the phone got automatically registered, I got a message from samsung confirming the model number as SM-G930PZKASPR (Sprint model). How can I check the actual model number of the phone myself without rooting the phone? How would the T-mobile firmware been flashed on a Sprint model?
It was used very briefly in US on ATT and the phone looked not to be blacklisted. And the ebay seller description showed the phone is unlocked for all US networks and overseas.
And I am currently in India and luckily this phone has LTE Band 3 supported on Vodafone India.
I am not sure if I will receive OTA or not. Anyone on the same boat?
If I dont receive OTA, should I flash the next firmware of T-mobile? or Should I flash the G930U t-mobile? or Should I flash the G930U sprint?
Please help me.
I have flashed T-mobile compatible G930U firmware (G930UUEU4API3_G930UOYM4API3_TMB) on my G930P. I did not face any issue while flashing. My phone remains unlocked. Enjoying it at the moment.
Model number shown in About Device is G930U.
But still the puzzle remains, how to check the actual model number of the phone without root?

Hey, you flashed 930U firmware on your 930P and it still unlocked?
I did the same but now it says "invalid sim" when I put in gsm sim
Probably it is originally factory unlocked by the sprint carrier. When i bought it had tmo firmware installed. Currently i have g930u (tmo compatible) firmware installed. I am using this phone overseas. I am not rooted.

7. i go back on in 1 hour through logmein
8. he does the whole process but i think he screwed up or his unlock isn't correct
9. phone is unlocked but can only get 3G.
10. i tested it out by putting in gsm sim from my brothers phone and used same apn settings. only 3G. put it back in his phone. he gets 4G/LTE.
11. do same thing with my other phones... still only 3G.
12. I connect back to logmein to tell him this. all he says is just let it calibrate.
13. 2 hour later. still 3G.
I don't know if he used the correct version or whatever but I am only getting 3G which is useless
Very unsatisfied with this service. The 1-man operation was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The way he talks is immature and lack of professionalism. No support whatsoever. This guy basically just paid for one of those unlock boxes sold by a unlock team which I will not name. It is around 200$.
I feel a bit inclined to just dispute the payment charge. I have never done that before. This is how unhappy I am with this service.
TLDR I do NOT recommend this service. Please look elsewhere so you do not make the same mistake as I did.

The firmware for all the US carrier variants and the unlocked US variant are interchangeable, which is why it was possible to flash T firmware on a P variant.
As others have mentioned, for the most international support on the US variants and with the least amount of carrier bloat your best course is to flash the unlocked "U" firmware. As for which U "carrier" to flash, I don't think it matters. I would go with T-Mobile if I had to choose.

Thanks for the response. I flashed the U firmware of T-mobile and did not face any issues. Will also try other firmwares.
Primarily my device is G930P. Will there be any effect to 4G LTE band if I flash P or T or U firmware?

Dispute it. I can confirm, from the other end that they are not great people. My company used to sell unlock software to them, we no longer do so. It takes a fair bit of annoyance for me to turn down business.

From a hardware perspective, the device can only handle certain LTE bands. Often, the US carrier versions will block some of those possible bands. I would assume that the unlocked variant has the least amount of blocked bands.

Better option is to use the SamFirm app. It's still functional. Get it over at this post by @zxz0O0:

Probably about 2 weeks into February.

Do you mean that, regardless of the firmware, there wont be any change to the original 4G LTE bands of the Sprint device?

Flashing the U firmware actually unlocks additional LTE bands, and you can put the phone on diag mode and you can enable more LTE bands using CDMA Tool (I have not been able to enable using QPST) without the need to be rooted. I live in Belize and my carrier uses band 17 (primary LTE band) and band 2 for LTE, I have to manually enable band 17 on the the U firmware to get LTE working. For me it has worked fine.
Regarding the correct model your phone is, did you check the back of your device? It should have the model number engraved on the back. mines was originally model number SM-G930VL which is the Tracfone Wireless Variant.

Yotaphone 2 Frequency and Radio Firmware - AT&T

Hey guys -
So like many of you, I reflashed my two Yotas to the latest RU Lollipop and was wondering if there was another radio firmware file that might wake up the AT&T US LTE bands. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried flashing the different radios to see if you can get a 4G LTE signal stateside?
Thanks,
Rootdude

HSPA+ can be sometimes very good - 3-15Mb/s - what is your speed at the moment? can you check through speedtest.net ?
At&t firmware
I have around 3.5 mbs to download and 0.6 uploaf. Too small comparing local 4G. So, can you help us?
I do not think you can change that easily, there's a thread talking about changing Radio Bands but the conclusion I got from the reading is that it does not work, at least with current "user" knowledge, YD206 is from China or HongKong, and some of those LTE Bands can work in Europe, not so much on the USA, the bands that USA telephone companies are very different than Europe or Asia, and as such YD206 IS NOT compatible with USA LTE bands. UMTS can have much higher upload speed than the ones you posted, so it might be your network problem, don't know if they are any better in LTE over your region.
Should be possible
Qualcomm 8974 supports all LTE bands. We just need proper modem firmware for US bands. Method in those threads definitely doesn't work since Qualcomm introduced some hidden filters inside firmware
BTW, there is lte_prefferedband file in the modem folder of Yota EFS. Does anyone know how to edit it?
That might be a anti-tampered code against our NV changes
Ok, I found out. For AT&T we need qcn file from Yotaphone 2, model 205. I don't know it such thing exist on the market but this reference says that it might be compatible with At&T.

interesting thing is that YD205 model was never launched, so it doesn't exist at all, unfortunately. The inquiries about future developments of this model were negative...

Korean G600L LTE bands

Hi, I have a korean LG G6 G600L model. I am based in Germany and use the T-Mobile (DTAG) network. LTE Band 3 works but I would like to check the LTE band list on the device itself. Does somebody know the network test menu code for this specific device/network?
Additionally is it theoretically possible to exchange the modem driver to enable additional LTE bands (Band 20 in my case) ? Is it only possible with root?
Happy to test stuff on this device as I would really like to keep it and improve the LTE reception. I love the DAC btw.
Thanks.

Hello
Just a question
Do you think if i flash a different firmware (H870) in my mobile (G600L) i can receipt UMTS 900 ?
It will not help u to add WCDMA b8 900 to supported bands, because:
1. Korean submodels probably have no hardware antenna support for this band, which is totally unusable in Korea;
2. U will not be able to flash another submodel's stock to Korean models without root and some rom cooking preparations, flasher just restricts u to flash another submodel's stock;
3. In case u modify another submodel's stock enough to sucesfully flash it to Korean model, but without Korean kernel, modem and specific patches - it will probably softbrick ur device.

Thank you for your reply.
I will change my modele by another
So I can confirm that G600L is not only showing the bands but also work with them. Band20 and 3 successfully tested here in Germany. Now if it would be possible to configure VoLTE with T-Mobile or cross-flash the german firmware but still keep the DAC would be perfect for me...
Looks like the Korean version has the most international 4G LTE Bands. The rest of the models in Asia barely have any 4G LTE Bands. Not sure what is used with this. Is the Korean version a dual sim version as well? Anyone have a picture of the box of the Korean version? There is usually a sticker on there that shows which 4G LTE bands are supported on box

One more question.. Anyone here that has the Korean version able to tell us if it comes pre-installed with facebook? Do not want a smartphone with Facebook preinstalled that can only be disabled and not uninstalled.

how did you bring up that menu with all the bands? I have the lg h870ds model with hifi dac and 64 gig, but I can't locate the LTE bands to turn them on
Try the same but with 870 instead of 600.

You should be fine for the most part. The only difference will be the network band support. You can flash the International ROM. As long as it's not a locked T-Mobile variant.
You'll need to check your network bands of your network provider and the compatibility of the model A6010.
Conversion is easy if need be.
