Spotify stopped respond to steering wheel control - Android Head-Units

Hi,
I'm using Joying PX5 6.2 Y-UOS04P4 and recently Spotify app stopped responding steering wheel buttons. Only volume works.
What could be the reason? How can I fix it? I doubled checked permissions for Spotify app and everything is enabled.

I'm having to same problem. With older versions of spotify the steeringwheel controls are still working. Did you resolve it?

The official response from Joying (http://forum-joyingauto.com/showthread.php?tid=2851&pid=3296#pid3296):
actually , the steering wheel control can not control perfectly with the third party app .
it only can control the default app .
Hope your well-understanding .

Someone (blindsta) said that it's only from Spotify 8.4.78.513 or later, you can try an older version. I always update apps on my head unit so I'll have to live with it for now.

Try the xposed module that I wrote to solve this if your HU is compatible.

Android Head Units - What are Some of the Must Have Apps/Tools

Hi All,
Recently purchased and installed a Joying head unit (4GB, PX5 Octa Core) (link to product)
So what are are some of the must have apps or tools to have on the android head unit?
What do you have installed that you could not live without as I only just got it it would be great to hear from people that have had them for longer to see what I should go and install.
I think something to remap keys if you want an extra controller. Voice assistant as well, I use Google now, works great. Bubbleupnp if you plan on using DLNA in the car

Does anyone know of a button remapper that works with steering wheel controls?
I have tried a few of the top ones however they are not picking up the steering wheel controls. Happy to pay for a solution also
What other tools/apps work great also?

Android Head Unit - Assistance Required with Google Music Music Next/Previous Buttons

Hi All,
Recently purchased and installed a Joying head unit (4GB, PX5 Octa Core) (link to product)
I use google music for all my music needs. I have uploaded all my personal music onto the google music cloud servers so I can stream or download them whenever I want making it an ideal solution. I installed the google music app on my android head unit and everything works great appear from one small thing.
The steering wheel NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons are not responding on the music app. Its killing me cause at the moment every time I have to change a song ive got to touch the screen (not ideal when driving).
Volume buttons work fine but ive tried different things to try and get the other buttons to work within the app like button re mappers via the app store etc.
Does anyone know of any way to get the NEXT and PREVIOUS song wheel buttons to work with the google music app. I will love you so much
I think its a software thing with the app cause poweramp and some other music players work with the wheel buttons. If this is the case I was hoping that there is an app that can run in the background which can pickup the wheel buttons and translate them so they work with the google music app.
Any assistance would be great. I hope someone can help.
Bump. There has to be a way around this.
Bump again. Really hoping there is a solution. If not can anyone recommend another forum/discussion board to try.
Type of car, type of CANBUS adapter if any, would be helpful. Because to me it sounds like a problem on the car side, not the app side.
Tried using the forward/back buttons on a different app or via Bluetooth pairing?

Car is Toyota Aurion/Camry.
So as in original post I can confirm it works on other apps such as poweramp and even the stock bluetooth player but on google music its not working. Im pretty sure its a google music app issue but im hoping there is a work around.
Bump. Please help
I have a same problem. The Next & Previous button does work with stock music and radio though but not with downloaded apps. Either it Spotify, Google Music, PowerAmp, VLC or AIMP. The Volume button working fine though. Appreciate if anyone have a solution.
Thank you in advance.
Seems like those controls are only directed into built-in media apps (radio etc). I found an app to translate the signal to universal: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.petrows.mtcservice&hl=en_CA

Tesla Style Headunits - spotify

Hello friends
I have installed in my car a multi-media android tesla style.
It's working perfect. But there is a detail that has stopped working. Before, it worked correctly.
The steering wheel controls work to change the songs of bluetooth, however in the application of the spotify installed in android does not work.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Any settings I may have stirred and spoiled?
I tried to contact the seller, but he does not give correct support.

The Solution: For those with the same problem the solution is a version of spotify. Publish an older version of the app and it worked.

Seicane head unit steering wheel controls problem

I bought a Seicane head unit for a 2009 Subaru Forester but cant get the steering wheel functions to work. The problem is when you launch the app, some options disappear from the settings. The unit comes with Android 9.1 and the seller only have an Android 8.1 file. Can these unit be downgraded or is there any way to get the function working?
Unit that i bought - H659L-L - https: //www .aliexpress.com/item/4000166507653.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.1a8b4c4deQkheC

I had an issue with my steering wheel controls as well, and my unit is also from Seicane. I added how I was able to make my SWC work, since my canbus settings haven't been cooperating with me.
Either we're unlucky or I'm just starting to see a pattern with these Seicane units lol.

My forester have manual AC controls, so no display on screen. Everyything works on my HU except SWC.
The youtube link shows what my unit does.

Will check my settings to see if your suggestion works.
Can you tell me exactly in which app you found that setting?

I found it in Settings. So, the system settings.

My system settings are empty like a church during the week. Not much in there. Can the software be downgraded in these units? It came from factory with Android 9.1, Seicane support only have 8.1. Is it safe to go back?

Okay so I just watched your video. That's super weird how it disappears like that. I'm currently on Android 9.0, so how your system settings is set up is definitely different than my own.

Would a factory reset throw off anything?

Honestly, that was the first thing I did after installing my unit, just to have fresh start.
Unless you installed a lot on your unit, I would go for it.
Android 9.1 definitely sounds new, so I'm sorry if I'm not much help myself. I'm still trying to figure out a few things with my own unit as well.

Will give it a try in the morning.
Tried the factory reset and the Android 8.1 file but had no luck.

Change physical volume buttons to adjust brightness

Hey guys,
I am having trouble finding what I am looking for.
My problem is that I want the physical buttons which normally change the volume to be reprogrammed to change the brightness.
This seems not easy,as the internal apps of the system/factory settings does not allow that.(just a basic recalibration volume up=volume up and so on)
If any one can help, let me know and I can also find out my system and all. Should be one of those junsun android 10units however.

Unfortunately you're not telling us what head unit you're using.
If you just want the head unit display to get dimmed during night you should check out AppSwitcher:

You shouldn't adopt the bad habit of calling everyone friend because that sounds ridiculous.
Unfortunately I can't help because I don't know this type of head unit.

That was not meant badly but a stranger is never a friend. Nevertheless, you should treat each other with respect and not be selfish.
