Help~ US LEX727, fastboot oem unlock-go failed after TWRP restore - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

A brand new LE Pro 3, LEX 727.
EUI Version 5.8.021S
This is what I did:
Enable the Developer Option. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
boot phone to fastboot mode, then connect to PC.
> fastboot oem unlock-go
> fastboot format userdata
> fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-zl1.img
The phone enter TWRP, then in TWRP, I did
(1) backup,
(2) wipe (advanced wipe, select system, data, dalvik/ART cache, cache)
(3) Restore using backup created in step 1
After restore and reboot, the phone back to original.
Then I did:
1. Enable the Developer Option.
2. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
3. ReBoot Phone to fastboot mode (Volume Down + Power button) and connect to PC.
4. fastboot oem unlock-go
Weird, this time it failed:
C:\adb>fastboot oem unlock-go
...
FAILED (remote: oem unlock is not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.006s
How can this happen? How to fix it???
Thanks!

Roger, I thought that I messaged you earlier but I see that it wasn't posted. I just answered your PM
So check your messages
Edit: It failed, because you restored the locked emmc_appsboot.mbn
after you prepare the phone for unlocking the bootloader, make sure that you remove any passwords, this way you will not have any storage encryption issues.

Phone Stuck | Need to recover photos from internal memory

Hi All,
Due to in ternal memory full, suddenly my home button stopped working and notifications were not appearing. I tried and followed advice written in one of the websites:
"f you didn't enabled developer settings and usb debug prior to the defect, you can create an icon to call this Activity using Nova Launcher.
After installing it and launching, long press home screen, select widgets, swipe right to find Activity icon, place on empty space in your home, search for setup wizard (it changes accordingly to your native language), select .SetupWizardTestActivity and voilá."
But, now my phone is stuck in SetupWizardTestActivity loop. I desperately need to recover my photos and other data on internal memory.
Please suggest.
Additional Info:
Using Moto X play (updated to Marshmallow)
Bootloader is unlocked
Can't you just boot into safe mode and try if that works.
Boot into Safe Mode
With the phone on, press and hold the power key until the on-screen “Power off” option shows up.
Long press on the on-screen button, and select “Boot into Safe Mode.”
or if you have an unlocked bootloader you can flash TWRP and use the build in file manager to transfer the files to your sd.

If bootloader is unlocked then recovering data is easy, I guess you have TWRP recovery if not flash twrp then pop in a sd-card boot into recovery and copy everything to the card. Done.
Edit: the above comment says the same thing, I had not noticed that .
While flashing TWRP recovery, I am getting the following message in CMD:
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
sending 'recovery' (8362 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.276s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.310s
In phone's bootloader logs, I can see: "Mismatched partition size (recovery).
Please help!

Yes. Bootlader is unlocked with input code to unlock.
I guess adb is not authorised then. when the phone is in setup wizard connect it to pc and type 'adb devices' there will be a pop-up asking you to authorise adb. select it. the try to flash recovery again .

"adb devices" is not working during Setup wizard.
Do you mean to say that I run fastboot boot <enter twrp name> during setup wizard?
Also, alternatively, will flashing a rom without clearing user data help in any way?
Thanks a lot for the help..

adb and fastboot are different things and are unrelated to each other. He doesn't need adb to flash the recovery.

What happens when you just clear /cache in the stock recovery?
What recovery are you trying to flash?

Any workaround?
unlocking bootloader will wipe the data in your phone.
I thought you had unlocked.
what is the problem when you try to setup the phone ? or skip the setup

best option now is flashing the firmware manually without wiping data.
Read this, also read a few comments after it.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65715334&postcount=43

RSD lite needs windows 7.
Yes you have to flash manually then using fastboot commands.
firmware
Just don't use the command to erase user data. Skip it. Open the zip there will be flashfile. xml/servicefile.xml open it , you will find the list of commands to run. Or the commands can be found here.

Just to confirm, will any firmware will work or I need to download one specific to my phone/higher version?
Also, any risks of bricking the device while flashing?

If you are on 6.0.1 then flash 6.0.1...better flash the appropriate region firmware.
There is a risk of bricking if you are downgrading and flash old gpt.bin and bootloader
As long as you are flashing proper firmware it's safe thoughi haven't done it but as you can see the comments I linked previously others have done it.

Unlocking bootloader unofficially?

Hey guys! Is there any way to unlock Redmi Pro's bootloader without waiting for permission from Xiaomi? Have anybody found a way to bypass it?
easy, first make sure you have spflash tool and a working fastboot rom (just in case of trouble)
Next make sure your computer has working fastboot and adb.
Enable USB debugging on the device.
Enable OEM unlock in the Developer options settings on the device.
Connect the device to the computer through USB.
From a terminal on a computer, type the following to boot the device into fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader
Once the device is in fastboot mode, verify your PC sees the device by typing fastboot devices
If you don't see your device serial number, and instead see "<waiting for device>", fastboot is not configured properly on your machine.
From the same terminal, type the following command to unlock the bootloader:
fastboot oem unlock
Device is wiped & unlocked & no OS
Now flash twrp, reboot into it and copy xiaomi.eu rom on card & install
Good luck

Crissz, your bootloader was allready unlocked when you received your phone. You cannot do a simple oem unlock via fastboot with a xiaomi phone. It's a fact..
@KarKlim please try fastboot oem unlock-go comand too
This method does not work as many say

Accidentally locked the bootloader by flashing MIUI - what should I do?

Hi,
I've bought my first Xiaomi phone - a second-hand Redmi 3s. It came with the bootloader already unlocked and the Resurrection Remix ROM. While I was playing out with different ROMs, I decided to try out MIUI. (to see how it looks like and at the same time update things that aren't updated when flashing custom ROMs - I planned Lineage OS 16.0 to be my final ROM; to be flashed after I try MIUI)
After flashing MIUI 9.6.1.0 with TWRP it appeared that:
1. The device is locked with a Mi account.
2. The bootloader got locked when flashing MIUI
I tried contacting the previous owner but they don't reply to any kind of contact, so I doubt I'll ever get the bootloader unlock code or the Mi account details from them.
What can I do so that I'm able to use the phone back again?
I'm quite comfortable with Linux and command-line, so command-line fiddling is ok for me. If needed, I also have a Windows VM.
Your phone's bootloader is unlocked. It's MI account that has locked your phone. Call your seller and ask him his mi account password. Put the password and verify. You need to connect to a wifi for this

That's interesting, because when I execute `fastboot oem device-info`, I get:
Code:
(bootloader) Device tampered: false
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: true
I finally managed to contact the previous owner but they refused to help me. ((
Is there any other way to get TWRP & LineageOS flashed when I have no chances of getting the password from the previous owner?
Download the twrp file from the given link. Rename the file to twrp.img. Make a folder in your pc and move the file. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode and connect it with pc. Open folder, press shift+right click. Select command prompt or Windows powershell whatever you have from the context menu and put the following commands.

If the above method doesn't help you then try to flash old miui (miui 8 stable) using fastboot method. Miui 8 doesn't require mi password to boot.

I'll try the other approach. Will MIUI 8.5 Global Stable V8.5.4.0.MALMIED be ok?
Before flashing miui 8 you need to unlock your bootloader. Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-3s/themes/redmi-3s-bootloader-cracking-method-t3629496
Hmmm... and would it be possible to somehow copy the MIUI 8.5 zip to the internal storage and then flash with the stock recovery?
Yup possible. Download miui 8 old version like miui 8.2.
Rename file as update.zip and move it to internal storage/sd card. Reboot your phn into recovery mode by pressing volume up+power button. Select english language. Select "install" option using volume buttons and power button. Confirm. Now wait till the process cmplt. After that reboot ur phn. Hope it will work for you

Help~ Password prompt after flashing US LEX727 to US 5.8.021S ROM

I followed youtube video (sorry I am not allowed to post URL)
The title of the video is: How to Install TWRP in LeEco Mobiles | Without ROOT | Simple and Riskless 2018
(1) Disable phone password, pin, fingerprint
(2) Boot phone to fastboot mode(hold Power+Volume Down button), connect to PC
(3) C:\adb>fastboot oem unlock-go (success)
(4) C:\adb>fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-zl1.img
It enter TWRP and ask for password (Mount, Decrypt Data)
Did some research, seems I also need to erase userdata before reboot.
Can you help me post the sequence of commands here, or I should use a different version of TWRP?
I also tried
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-1-zl1.img
fastboot reboot
It will boot into EUI instead of TWRP.
Then I tried
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-1-zl1.img
Then hold Power+Volume UP button instead of run "fastboot reboot", it reboot, BUT enter a black screen.
Please help me to get TWRP work, thanks!
I tried a different version of TWRP, twrp-3.2.1-0-zl1.img. It worked.
This is what I did:
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot format userdata
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-zl1.img
Then in TWRP, I tried
(1) backup,
(2) wipe (advanced wipe, select system, data, dalvik/ART cache, cache)
(3) Restore using backup created in step 1
After restore and reboot, the phone back to original.
Then I did:
1. Enable the Developer Option.
2. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
3. ReBoot Phone to fastboot mode (Volume Down + Power button) and connect to PC.
4. fastboot oem unlock-go
Weird, this time I got error:
C:\adb>fastboot oem unlock-go
...
FAILED (remote: oem unlock is not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.006s
How can this happen? How to fix it???
Thanks!
