Distortion of sound during notifications - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hello.
When I am listening to music and receive a notification, the music still sounds but during the seconds of receiving the notification it is completely distorted and then continues normal.
I'm trying to get into all the settings, but I don't give up on the problem.
The same problem with whatsapp audios.
Thank you.

Yes, even I am facing this issue. It sounds distorted, some kind of hardware malfunction.

SMS Alert on Silent Interrupting Music?

Hi All,
I have searched to see if there are any posts about this, but I can't find one.
Whenever my phone is on silent, and I have music playing through headphones or the headphone jack, the music gets interrupted when a text message arrives. The music simply cuts for a few seconds, and then resumes.
BUT
It's not the music stopping playing, oh no. It obviously continues playing *silently* because the song resumes about a second later, but about a second later in the song!
Is this intentional or is there something wrong with my one?
Cheers,
Tom
huh, obviously when you're not on silent, the music is fading away to make your "incoming message" sound more obvious
looks like there needs to be some special-casing so it doesn't do this on silent. Might be worth opening a support ticket to HTC - as long as you make clear it's a bug report and not a request for help, they are pretty good about passing these things onto the dev team (though that doesn't guarentee it'll get fixed, of course)
personally, i'd think that, silent or not, you should still hear the "incoming message" sound over headphones, but that's a matter of opinion I suppose
I've also noticed that when I use my Bluetooth stereo headset to listen to music and get an incoming SMS or the phone has to play any kind of notification, it doesn't send it to the headset, but instead pauses the music (not putting it on pause, but interrupting it shortly...) for a second while it plays the notification audibly through the phone speakers.
Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

headphone jack alert and music audio routing issue

Hi Guys,
This is my first samsung so maybe its a samsung thing, but when I listen to music on my phone everytime a new notification comes through either mail or sms or anything really that triggers a notification alert to make a noise it cuts my headphones and starts playing the notification and my music through the loudspeaker and then when the notification tone is done the music routes back in to the headphones.
It is really annoying and is there an app to fix this?
This is almost more annoying to people in the same room as me than it is to me.
I'm on the latest factory ROM, rooted.
Hi,
I had this problem too.. and found answer somewhere here. For example, SoundAbout solves this issue.

Thanks, I've used SoundAbout in the past to fix issues with a cheap knockoff chinese phone, I was hoping there was a better fix hah, that will have to do for now
If you are using a player such as poweramp you can stop this pause and resume by going into settings/audio/audio focus and change the settings to not pause and resume. It will play the music and notifications at the same time. Otherwise do the above steps and turn down your notification volume to 0 manually. You will still get notifications without interfering the music.
I haven't tried other players yet but worth looking into the settings for the same features

[Q] Notification causes music to play from speakers with headphones plugged in.

Hey guys! Sorry for just appearing here with a question. I hope you can help me.
I have a really bad problem with my Galaxy S5. My S4 was fine until I updated to Lollipop, so I think that's the problem.
I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Thank you so much for any advice you can give me! Nothing I try works.
PS: Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.
I have exactly the same issue.
This is so annoying. I've tried the soundabout app but it freezes my phone when starting a call.
I have root and am running extrolite rom -I don't want to flashflash Cm - without avail.

Notification sound plays while phone muted.

So basically my OP5 plays notification sounds even though it is on muted and on DnD. The alert slider is in muted position. Apparently Android treats my notifications as media sounds and plays them unless media sounds are muted. This problem started on its own, I did not change anything in the settings. It annoys the **** out of me so I would be grateful if anyone could help.

Same here, I've tried also to wipe the cache from recovery, reboot, set/unset the ringtone, etc. but the problem is still there.
It seems also OnePlus 6 does the same: forums.oneplus.com/threads/double-notification-sound-notification-sound-while-on-vibrate-and-dnd.1051359/

Issue with the phone's speaker

hey guys, i have a kind of annoying issue with my speaker:
When playing music or video (YouTube, music player,
video player) the sound gets cut out for a few seconds, the phone makes a static sound and then the music comes back.
With headphones this bug is not there, nor with Bluetooth speaker. Only when playing sound thorough the phone's speaker this bug occurs.
It occurs exactly every 2 minutes (120secs), then after 2 or 3 seconds it goes back to normal.
Does anyone have the same issue or any possible solutions i can try.

Regarding the Spotify bug you have to disable the equalizer in Spotify settings and your bug will be fixed.
My issue was resolved after a 2.2GB update.
It works like it should. Hopefully you'll get an update soon too and the problem will be gone
