Low benchmarks on A2 compared to Nokia 7 plus - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

I noticed that Nokia 7 plus and Mi A2 both having SD 660 and a similar kind of flash memory and same 4GB of RAM have different multi core Geekbench scores for Nokia 7 plus it's around 5900 and for Mi A2 it's between 4800 and 5000. Please anyone confirm this?

Change your ROM. Anyway, sinthetic benchmarks are not good reference for user experience, day to day performanse...

You are on 6GB variant, I am talking about 4GB variants... And anyways a difference of 1000 points does make a difference i guess. And this difference exists on Android 8.1 on both phones

People are doing the tests on a ROM that still has memory issues, I would like them to try with MIUI 10 or Android Pie beta since most of the issues in the official Stock ROM are solved in those roms.

OP is talking about the multi core scores. Don't see how ROM issues would affect that score in different phones.

When your memory speed is handicapped by a ROM bug, yes it affects the score.
I can reach 220Mbps read / 190Mbps write on the new Android Pie beta but the original official Stock ROM has about 119Mbps read / 67Mbps write.

It's all in Xiaomi's hands, I *really* don't want to sell this device and buy a Nokia if they keep messing it up in the software department.

(Opinion) What's the best Custom ROM for the Redmi Note 2?

There's plenty available and I don't know which one to choose so a statistic pick might be my best option. I'm talking mostly about non-MIUI ROM's cause that's the kind of ROM I want, close to stock Android.

If you want close to AOSP, try AOSP from vova.vafin... The best AOSP for Reno2
In my opinion, they're all pretty much the same as far as battery usage is concerned (which I believe is the main concern, regarding this device).
Some have a better camera, some have more stuff built-in, some are multilanguage and some aren't.
All in all, I like Bule's BlissPop (can't remember where I got it from), but mostly because I just like BlissPOP. Also, if you plan on getting an AOSP only to end up installing xposed, gravitybox, and a whole bunch of addons, might as well get a ROM that already has most of those addons...

Also pitching in for this one. I've tried one of the first AOSP posted here, the sSmooth one, but after a while it just ran crap. Went to global MIUI stable, for some reason the USB wouldn't interface with PC and finally ended up on this rom. Fastest by far. And I infinitely prefer it to MIUI. I've had a couple of soft resets, but nothing major.

You should say thanks that you have Android Marshmallow.
Everyone should stop asking for Nougat, this is a dead device, although we try to do something for it.

Again, more negative comments, the only bugs in marshmallow are the bugs we can't fix, we have a Intel processor, incompatbility, etc... Without positive comments and support on this device, we would not even have marshmallow today, and if you are calling me "funny", thank you, at least I can be funny with this device

Unlikely that there will be Oreo for N7 since google changed kernel requirments to 4.4 in R2
@tomcis147 for new devices rolling out with Oreo ..
last Android 7.0 ROM i tried was super laggy comparing to pure nexus based on Android 6.0 so I'm not even going to try 8.0

MIUI 9 on MI A2 Review (Read/write result,Antutu Benchmark,Real life experience)

Emmc Cid: 13xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
DDR Vendor:MICRON
After using all Roms and I can say that MIUI 9 is the most stable one .
1-sequential writing goes between ( 170-210)
2-No lags (In games)
2-No zitters
3-No freezes
4-More than 400 mb cache in Chrome cleans in less than 1 sec
Thats all
Those who thinks Slow emmc is a hardware issue You are most welcome to try that rom .

You can't use with Android Nougat/7.0,7.1 etc. I suggest you to install pixel exp 9.0.
Thanks a lot for your post.
Seems like the Mi5s still have capacity for nice pictures even if it is not so new
Thanks a lot !
It's a very helpful post, thank you! I just switched to Lineage for change of taste and customizations in Pie. I will try some of these gcams right away. It's a very big shame that Xiaomi dropped support of this powerful model for new Android releases, unbelievable. I wish someone could pick up Treble support at least so we can have Miui with Pie. Unrelated a bit sorry, öfkemi kusmam lazımdı bir şekilde. Elinize emeğinize sağlık.
I had a very Good Gcam, but i don't know the version. I reset my Mi5s and put the Mini Global 10.2.3.0.
I tried install the version in the post but i didn't...
It's a problem with the Miui that I have? I need help please
