Erratic typing problem - Huawei P Smart Questions & Answers

Hi guys. My mum just got a new p smart. When she's typing on the Google or SwiftKey keyboards occasionally the keypad goes crazy and starts typing random letters. Please can someone give me some advise to help her.
Many thanks.

Typing Speeds

Hey everyone! It's me (again) posting (again) hehe. Well, I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed this:
While typing using the touch screen, fast, even with XT9.
Typing on keyboard with XT9 or ABC is sometimes slow, and misses a letter that you push (rarely) but happens.
Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I just not used to the keyboard still ?
happened here.
it makes me angry. is there any kinda fix for this?
not that i know of. its probably a hardware bug.

its skipping buttons if you type fast! (which I do)!
Problem fixed install these and follow the directions and you'll see how it works great! Wow... How ironic!

qwerty keyboard stuck on numbers

Not sure what is going on with this but on my HD I've somehow got the qwerty and half qwerty keyboards stuck so that they only input numbers and symbols.
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get letters back available, as the 123/ABC button is "greyed out"/disabled somehow.
Help me Obi wan kenobi - you're my only hope....
I bet you enabled T9 in HD tweak.....this problem gets reported here every day or two....
Just disable it again, soft-reset and yo are back in business...
You're absolutely right, thanks. Don't know how:
1) I managed to turn that on without realising.
2) I didn't find any of the other threads about it!
My bad, sorry, but thanks for the help.
that answer did help me too a lot !
and that was the only thread i found about it too

problem with typing

I have got a problem on typing with either the keyboard or the Finger Keyboard on my X1.
Once I type some symbols ,like space, commas etc. ,the symbol will be underlined for about 2-3 secs. I will need to wait until it to disappear, otherwise if i continue to type the letters will be messed up becoz the typing line will go back to where the symbol is.
It is quite annoying when I am typing fast. Are there any registries about the symbols waiting time or something to fix it ?
Thanks.
It's called lag...do you know what lag is? How do people not know what lag is? Are you American? I mean come on this is common sense man!

SMS Typing Issues

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else experienced the samething happening since the SMS hofix (most people seem to have SMS sending issues but I've not really found people with this one).
Typing is so so so painfully slow in the SMS window now that its practically unusable. Also the phone doesnt seem to register spaces very often anymore when writing messages. The net affect of this is that its taking a lot longer to write messages.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Yes! I am suffering from this, its only once the thread gets longer that it starts to really cripple the text input, but spaces are constantly missed out!
+1 here
Sluggish performance and spaces get added several characters late. Makes text entry very redious.
Chaps,
Use this to search on here...http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all
Just key in SMS problems and you will find a whole host of information on this subject.
WB
WB thanks - I tried searching around but a lot of the results are all around the SMS not sending issue so its why I couldnt find much.
Well its not just me with this issue then guys, thanks very much! It is just hideous to use this phone with this problem....
I had this problem too after flashing latest stock 1.66. I disabled keyboard vibration and it's better now...

You've never had SPACE key on your HD2 keyboard???

So who else despises the EVO soft keyboard?

I dont understand why HTC didn't just use the Desire's keyboard. Instead just added really annoying arrows, and in result I find myself constantly hitting these arrows instead of the space or enter keys. Typing is a mess.
Well, no longer. Just wanted to let you guys know jonasl's modded htc keyboard works PERFECTLY. NO MORE ARROWS. YAY!

swype all the way for me, can't even type on the reg keyboard without having to fix every single word
Trackpad? With a 4.3 inch touchscreen? I dont need arrows when i can just pan around the screen with my finger. But im coming from an iPhone.

Actually Swype was the first thing I tried. But its not for me. I can type fast using swype but faster on a qwerty. Also, I am constantly typing in different languages and sometimes I simply cannot rely on any kind of prediction.

I realize this is kind of weird, but have you tried just using the Swype keyboard like a normal keyboard? for some reason I feel like it is easier to use than the other keyboard that way. And you could always practice with swyping, you might get pretty good at it!

I did! But sometimes I move so fast between keys it actually thinks I'm swiping. Plus It would still try to "correct' words that were typed in another language into english, no matter how accurately I touched each button.

You might try Shapewriter out. I believe you can add custom libraries to it, so you could add other languages you type in the same file as your English library.
How is swype for dealing with words that aren't necessarily regularly part of the english language? I tend to use my phone for searching for device model numbers for example, and sense annoys me somewhat because it autocorrects words that aren't actually words but model nomenclatures.

good, you can add words to the swype dictionary by typing it in and pushing the "swype key"

You must be really slow at Swype if you're faster with QWERTY. @[email protected]
I also like SmartKeyBoard Pro which is more IPHONE like for some.
But bottom line folks is that you have choices. If this were an IPHONE and you didn't like the keyboard what options for you have? That is the main point of arguement between the two camps.
Both have their good points and bad points. We are not required to buy either. We can go back to the Motorola Razr Ver(xx) if we wanted to.
If the new IPHONE had at least a 3.8 or 4.0 screen I would use my upgrade and get one to have. But I am very happy with the EVO and I look foward to Froyo 2.2 update that has everything working on it.
