havoc os - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Is anyone still on this? Feels like one of the best if not the best custom rom atm for one that doesn't get updated. Smooth, stable, battery drains a bit fast with everything stock it might be better after I test with jojoc or schwifty kernel. It has working oreo Dolby unlike los, pie toggles/settings without being an actual buggy pie, and a lot or the most customizations without xposed. Performance feels faster than aex, stock oreo and about the same as los while looking nicer. los could only work with nougat UI Dolby and i know a lot of people like viper though i prefer oreo Dolby. Stock oreo is good and all but feels like not much of a reason for me to stay on it anymore except for slightly faster charging compared to all aosp roms. Havoc has a different look compared to the other oreo roms like how Chinese roms are except with working root and gcam. No slowdowns yet like AEX had but I need to test more first. I hope there isn't that video recording bug later on if I flash schwifty treble. So far so good for me there isn't anything that hasn't not worked how I wanted it to yet. Sad we lost such a great dev
Stock nougat is probably still ok if people want the best performance, battery, charging and some features like daydream that I never used at the cost of what looks to me like an outdated system, Dolby UI and no gcam. LOS might be best for latest security patches. The only problem havoc could have is maybe the headphone jack audio bug since it's old so I'll use Bluetooth for now if that helps. Also at first boot it was a little laggy then got way better somehow I think after a restart. Dolby app only showed with magisk 16.4 and nothing higher. Open for suggestions if people know more roms like this!

I'm using Nfounds pixel experience havok os Oreo and its the best ROM I have tried so far .it doesn't have Dolby but using neutron it sounds very good . battery not bad with average 4 to 5 hours SOT . I've tried treble pie ROMs and will wait a bit before going back to pie , I see no real reason apart from security updates to change ROMs

Thx I'll try it soon I didn't even know nfound had a PE build. Pie was a little buggy for me too unless I was using it wrong. Hopefully all of us can use them later because this phone being treble compatible should make up for the lack of custom roms
Havoc only problem seems to be slight delay when opening apps like other aosp roms. I don't think Chinese rom, stock nougat and oreo have this problem
Edit - tried dotOS and in love with it now. Feels like an updated havoc

im back on HavocOS treble from NFound, its still very good oreo rom for me...and for now.
I use it with b20 modified splash bootstack

I think I liked havoc mostly for Dolby oreo. Dot os has better performance and battery life is similar in both. Everything else about both is about the same too except that dot os is still being maintained every once in a while. I only got Dolby nougat working with dot os so far thanks to a user on telegram. Viper has been a good replacement for me too but if there's ever a working Dolby oreo I'll use that asap because it's what I'm used to

Best rom for athene

What do you think the best rom for the moto g4 plus is in terms of battery life and performance. And which rom would give the best battery life for a light user
I tried most of them, and I think stock is best.
I have my setup with magisk: systemless xposed and superuser.
using vanir, that or stock best for me.
RR 5.8.0 is very good in battery life out of the box, I'm using it for 5-7 sot for nearly 2 days(no gaming, no stream,Bluetooth, WiFi, flight mode over night)
For the simplest experience, don't look away from Stock.
Or you can go with RR 5.8.0. That's an awesome ROM for customization freaks.
I tried a few, but Resurrection Remix 5.8.0 is best so far.
Good battery life, rooted out-of-the-box, all features I tried actually worked.
I have a canadian 1641, retail, and have NOT upgraded my modem to the N version yet.
For me the rom has been xenon hd it's great has reasonable battery life around 5 hrs sot and it is smooth AF.
Stock ROM here. Stable, no issues. Systemless rooted SuperSU, added XtremeMusic mod and Dolby Atmos (same thread).

Stock, Xposed, and maybe custom Kernel
I agree with stock. A little tweaking and stock is hard to beat.
Of you want a stable daily driver then stock can't be beat. Rooted makes it even better. Tried all the roms and they aren't good enough for daily drivers for me. Until an official rom, PAC was and has always been the second best to stock in my opinion.
I tried XPerience and Resurrection Remix, both for about a week, but I returned to rooted stock with ElementX kernel. That is the most stable setup I have found so far. Best battery life too.
Resurrection Remix hands down, been on it since the day it got released. Yes, it is a feature rich ROM and can let you customize in innumerable ways, and yet won't cost you in terms of performance and battery life.
Motor G4+ has official status to its RR ROM which means support from the Xda thread and RR devs as well.
Having tried quite a few Nougat ROMs on the Moto G4+ forum, can vouch for RR's stability. How about not having a single freeze, boot loop or auto restart since past two weeks I've been on it?
You can check its support thread, you'd have to look hard for reported bugs. In all the years of using custom ROMs, this ought to be one of the rare cases.
And it comes prebaked with kernel based on ElementalX, which means you get not only the kernel but can also tweak and optimize it with EX Kernel Manager, just as you'd do on stock.
As for the battery, I'm getting between 6 and 6.5 hours SOT with moderate - heavy use (streaming Spotify over VPN included)
Also, Xposed for Nougat is still nowhere in sight, which means having to wait still longer for the mods to be updated for 7.0 and 7.1. So, having a highly functional and feature rich ROM that can offer at least some of the functionality and customization of Xposed mods, is where RR wins over other custom ROMs.
Here's my current configuration on my XT1643:
RR 5.8.0 + SuperSU 2.78SR5 + ARISE Deuteronomy alpha with Dolby Atmos add on + Patched Adfree background playback YouTube + NoChromo adfree browser + Greenify Donation (sucks without xposed but nevermind)
Though I've not tried, but users confirm running (some) Substratum themes as well.
Future updates should get CMTE support as well, just in case.
I guess there's still lot more customization that can be done along with finding patched/alternative apps that Xposed mods would take care of other wise.
And yes, MotoG4+ is now officially supported for dualboot patcher, meaning you can boot into different ROMs which significantly expands scope of how you can use your device.
Lastly, all that's mentioned above is from Xda itself which means not only can you trust what you're doing to your phone, in case you do screw up you'd still have good chance to salvage yourself.

Id say stock with your criteria. I have only tried several versions of CM 14.1 myself but if I remember correctly the battery felt as if it was lasting longer on stock 6.0. The experience after dealing with several reflashes and getting used to that process is a bit hard but the system I use now feels allot faster. I can only guess that the better performance comes at the cost of battery usage.

I guess you did not read, search and you're also rude. That's not the way you should request something on XDA.
Did you ever installed a custom rom? If not, please take your time and learn basics BEFORE going further with installing ressurection remix. Otherwise you will run into big trouble.
Ok sorry for that..?

Custom ROM with VoLTE(Jio 4G) Daily Driver

Hello Community,
I am currently on OxygenOS 3.5.6.
Since this is my only device, I would like to try a stable custom ROM with minimal to no bugs with VoLTE (Jio) working.
I have been following Oneplus community forums and came across issues where in there are frequent network drops and bootloops on certain roms. As this is my daily driver, I don't get much time to experiment with various ROM.
Please suggest.
Thanks
Cosmic OS
For a daily driver give slim6 a shot, its smooth, boots up as quick as OOS, currently getting ~5hrs SOT so battery is quite good, and best of all its xposed compatible
If you want to compare options, I also found H2OS to be rock stable as well, I personally just wanted to change after using it as my daily driver for over a year LOL.
P.S. I'm not 100% about VoLTE on slim6 so best double check that

I gave Cosmic a try. It's a nice ROM but I didn't like the stock phone dialer and camera.
Is it possible to flash OxygenOS 3.5.6 camera app and phone app on this? I really like the phone app from OxygenOS 3.5.6
Citrus was good but the fingerprint lag, persistent HD notification and Google Assistant setup every time trying to initiate it made me switch back to OOS 3.5.6.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I've tried HydrogenOS in the past. Don't like the UI.
Looking for a stable, bug free, without fingerprint lag, nougat based daily driver material.
Try AospExtended from the xda forums.it will fullfill all your's needs.

You can use the latest pixel phone dialer. It is much better than the one present in custom roms. Just install it and set it as the default phone app. Alternatively, you can flash the full open gaaps or using aroma installer
First flash H2OS and then lineage-14.1-20170214-nightly-oneplus2-signed.zip with the VoLTE firmware fix. Perfectly stable for me. It does reboot once in a few days, which I think is acceptable.
Try Xenon HD! It's super smooth compared to all other ROMs!
All 7.x roms currently suffer from random reboots and network drops. I tried a few roms and switched back to OOS .
Oneplus need to release the kernel sources for 3.5.x in order for custom ROM makers to uptake and fix this issue.

Stock not stable

after miui i bought this **** called as stock android but except camera, everything is buggy....I think everyone is searching for custom rom, do u know any serious developer who working on custom rom in mia1??
my stock mia1 is stable and working just fine.. and NOT EVERYONE is searching for a custom rom.. it seems only you're the one who's looking for it ??
CMIIW
This phone on oreo is buggy as hell, battery drain fast, apps crash too often and sound from headphones/spesker is unlistenable. Nougat was much better. Yes, working custom rom would be awesome, but xiaomi hasn't released sources for oreo, only for nougat. So there won't be many custom roms until thay do. You need to know that there is a big 8.2.1 official update rolling outthis month which will (we hope) fix most of this problems.
Sent from my Xiaomi Mi A1 using XDA Labs
Nobody will release a custom rom now, because the sources are for nougat. Then when android 9.0 releases, xiaomi will drop 8.0 sources, and then won't be custom roms either because 9.0 is the latest android. and so on... xD.
I'm only waiting for custom kernels at least.

Now you're just over exaggerating stuffs. I'm still getting 6-8 hours of SOT, apps doesn't crash at all and apart from the hissing sound, the sound is actually pretty nice. Lineage OS is already booting and left wth minor bugs. Just wait for it if you can't stand with current buggy stock rom.
Yeahhhhhhhh another thread. Such a productive thread.
We should make more threads like this.

How Xperia SP is doing with Oreo roms?

I'm a long time using XOSP Nougat and out of flashing scene and i'm thinking of using Oreo on my device now.
Which Oreo rom is running more stable and smooth even with a good number of user apps installed?
I'm using LineageOS 15.1 (latest build). It works well. It's more responsive now compared to Nougat (thanks to Android Go). Battery life is the same, although if you modify the cpu governor to make it less likely to go at high frequencies you can expect a bit more.

You could try reflashing your ROM from TWRP or any other recovery installed . Make sure you wipe Dalvik Cache / Cache before you flash the ROM again .
Well as far as I have tested in my Xperia SP(C5302) , my top-picks for Oreo ROMs are:
1. XenonHD - It is the fastes Oreo ROM on Xperia SP I have tested yet . I did face a bit of heavy battery draining , but after flashing a custom kernel , the combo was perfect!
2. Lineage OS - I did not face a single issue with this ROM yet and the battery backup is also good.
3. Cosmic OS - Its based on AOSP and is pretty smooth

what custom kernel you flashed?
It's been a while since I was here...
Great to see the active development still, I'm picking up a SP next week & was wondering what ROM is best for smoothness & speed, but with battery life in mind, I'm not looking for flagship performance of course, but I want the quickest & smoothest definitely, up to now I'm hearing it's XenonHD is this correct?,
Also the ROM needs to have AdrianDC's music light effects implemented, this is a absolute must as this is something that was missing in the earlier years of development when I first had the SP, link attached below https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73049970&postcount=399
Thanks in advance guys for any help & recommendations
LineageOS 15.1 has the music light effects, and it runs good for me.

Lineage OS 15.1 is too laggy and sluggish.
Go with Adrian's AOSP Oreo. It has light effects included, does fine with Pico GApps. Smooth and good battery life.
Edit: After flashing the 27/02 build, it runs very good and smooth. Maybe it was a dodgy flash.

Best Pie rom?

Recently there have been many Pie rom for our device, I am certain many of you might have tried. As far as I am concern I tried pie rom in the start of their release but I switched back to oreo. As title says Which is best Pie rom till now? Recommendation should be focused on battery life, stability and customisation. As always Thank You.
Generally all pie ROMs have good battery life..
Bt the stability and encryption are my main issues....
I have tried ARROW OS official version(voLTE didn't work for me) , PIXEL EXPERIENCE didn't boot up and currently I'm using NITROGEN OS unofficial =which supports voLTE and has quiet a number of customisations and moreover it is stable also.
"NITROGEN has great battery backup and most importantly it doesn't support encryption?(i hate encryption).
IN the past 4 days i didn't even face a single random reboot.
*Bt it is not that smooth and you feel slow..
So I'm thinking of trying HAVOC OS unofficial...
Will update about it once i try it...
*Update
Tried HAVOC OS unofficial.
Everything is better than NITROGEN OS
and the only issue is encryption.
Hope you can bye pass it...
I have flashed pixel experience pie but facing encryption problem
What is encryption?
I want to flash pie rom on my redmi 3s but, i see everywhere peoples are talking about encryption issue. What is it?

I have been using Aex extended for quite some time now. It's the most stable, I tried many in the meantime but most of them failed to impress me for different reasons.
I saw few members are Praising Syberia official/unofficial, but I haven't tried yet.
Aex Extended pie will be around by Dec 12 otherwise oreo is almost perfect. Wonderful BB/performance balance. More than enough customisation.
Havoc Unofficial by Weritos is really Good... Performance, battery and Customisations...

Try disable dm-verity from latest twrp??
I am using superior os... I have not used any other pie rom... But this one seems to be completely fine for me... Volte, wifi, hotspot all are working great... It comes with gcam 5.1...I am a newbie in this field so i do not know how to exactly check bb... But yes while playing games it last for around 4 hrs.... And as for customizations there are tons of options to customize
I tried many roms for my redmi3s and from my experience I found that PixysOs is the best Rom.
It is smooth and battery consumption by it is very less...and you will also find no. Of customizations..in it.
I surely recommend PixysOs Android Pie Rom installation in your land device .
Till now no other Rom gives that much stability and customizations.:good:
