A2 Proximity Sensor BUG / Issues - Discussion - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

I'm having an annoying BUG on my Mi A2 in relation to the proximity sensor.
Most of the time I'll listen to audio on WhatsApp, it turns on the audio for 1 second and then pauses.
I discovered a small solution, but it's a bit annoying to have to do it straight. Simply lock the screen and unlock again, so the audios return to normal operation.
The problem is that most of the time this happens after the device is locked.
Do you think Xiaomi will solve this problem soon?
I think this is not a problem with the sensor, because if it was, the test applications would not work properly, besides the calls where the sensor does not present any problem, only if you listen to audios in WhatsApp.
I had an A2 lite and also had a annoying problem, when I wanted to reduce or increase the volume, I had to run the audio, push the volume button and then put the phone on the face, this way I could control the volume normally.
Xiaomi, will you pack this BUG of the proximity sensor ???
Sorry for Bad English

I had this issue before but after converting to mi6x its fully working so its software
I think xiaomi doesnt have enough experience to release a bug free Android one rom

Interesting. I'm hoping to tidy up on Android Pie.

You can work around that (Turn off the Adaptive Brightness) in the display options and it will sort it, Hopefully, it will be fixed at some point.

Problem with proximity sensor and accelerometer and sound problem

Im using TA-1024
Does this phone support proximity sensor? In antutu is says "Not supported", but it's a bit odd since that sensor support even 5+ year old phones.
Since july upsate rotation sensor is not working at all, before that update there was still a bug with rotation, but i was able to fix it with a restart, now even that is not helping. Is therw any way i can fix that?
There is also a problem with sound on loudspeaker, when playing somwthing on low volume i hear some buzzing and cracking. Anyone elae have that problem?

I own a Nokia 5 and I can confidently say that it does have a proximity sensor. However, I can't help you with your problem since I don't exactly understand what it is and never had a similar problem myself, so, sorry :/
Same
The phone does have a proximity sensor, I also have a problem with the sound buzzing at low volume.

Low sound volume during call

Hello,
My A1 have low sound volume during voice call after may patch i think ,volume in very low ,does anyone know a fix for this problem?
Thx,
Try this,
1. Once you're in a phone call, turn loudspeaker on.
2. Reduce the volume to bare minimum.
3. Switch back to normal mode from loudspeaker.
This helped me when I had a similiar issue.
Thx for reply, i try this but not working ,i think is a hardware problem or if anyone know a software or apps test for call speaker..
Hi,
No, I don't think this is a hardware issue as I have the same issue with my A1 since the july /August patch 2018. Any progress with this since then ?
it works thanks
am facing same issue after oreo update i thought that it might get fix but til now it not fixed
There was a Magisk module for this, somewhere near here.

That's right. It can be found on THEMES, APPS AND MODS.

Call switching to loud speaker by itself

Hi
Has anyone else encountered this bug on the European version?
It's only been happening recently since the latest update.
As far as I can tell the screen is off when it happens so it shouldn't be a case of me touching the button with my face.
Further more, the loudspeaker button is not active even though the sound is coming from it!
I have to press it once for it to turn green (loud speaker mode) then once again to return the call to the ear speaker.
Weird!
This is probably not it but just an idea because a similar thing happened to me on my last phone. It turns out I had an app (AutomateIt) which is like tasker in that it does things in response to other things. In this case, I didn't realize it had a task setup that was supposed to automatically activate speakerphone based on the proximity sensor, and it just did not work reliably, activating speakerphone mode excessively.

Proximity sensor FIX

EDIT: Well, that's awkward. The bug has returned. It's strange because now it comes and goes. Anyway. The battle carries on.
TLDR - Install Microsoft Launcher and it's all good. Didn't tested with other launchers
I finally managed to fix the annoying proximity sensor bug that Mi A2 (runing One) have by accident.
Today I installed Microsoft Launcher just to feature testing and kept my normal usage. After a while, I received a few voice messages on WhatsApp. As usual, I turned the media volume down, assuming that the phone wouldn't recognize the phone near my ear and play the audio out loud (not cool to happen in your office), pressed "play" and quickly placed the phone on my ear. The screen quickly turned off and, after the 1 second of audio, it didn't stop playing! Also, when the audio is finished, the screen turned on right after I moved the phone back to the "standard position".
I tried the calibration method, but it didn't work.
I've tested with several audio messages and it worked 100%.
Hope it works for everyone having this issue.
For me, when I turn on the adaptive brightness the bug almost disappear. With adaptive off, bug occurs a lot.

Low call volume with last miui global

Hi guys
I have any problem with the volume level when i speak with the phone. I have set the max volume, but i listen very low...i think that it's a software problem next the last global update. I have 10.3.6.0. any solution?
Tnx
I've just bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7; volume received on phone calls (without headset) is terrible, I can't use it anywhere that's not very quiet. MIUI 10.3.6.0. I've found lots of references to the problem with many Xiaomi phones, but not yet found a solution. I think the workaround is a headset, not great, or use speakerphone. All sound volumes are at maximum; there is no "phone volume" as such, but pressing "volume up" during a call does nothing. The usual response from Xiamo has been to run hardware diagnostics, but everything checks fine and there's no way to change things. Another suggestion from XIaomi is to backup the phone onto their cloud, factory reset, and try again; user who did it reported no improvement. I can't in all honesty use the usual sign-off HTH (Hope This Helps)

Test a kernel with soundcontrol and a kernel manager like darkness . Think the Evira have it in his build.
