Disabling the USonic - HTC U Ultra Questions & Answers

Is there a way to disabling USonic feature of Ultra? Also even if I turn it off from settings after a while it enables itself instantly. I also experienced some huge lag on the phone when I turn off the screen while earbuds are connected. Thanks in advance.

If you install RR rom, sound will be 1000% better without any lag and without USonic feature.
The only thing you will lose is secondary screen but everything is working better, including earbuds.

If you tweak schedutil governor, battery life is amazing with no lag at all.

I can confirm sound is good and working with any earbud... Even my Le Max 2 CDLA earplugs are working fantastic....
I am waiting for Leedroids update also, with HTC software base the secondairy screen works and thats a big plus for me... Maybe Leedroid can delete the Usonic terror from HTC rom

Audio Booster and general music playback issues

Hi guys and gals,
I have recently stopped using my Sony Walkman, which sounds great with my Sennheiser earphones so that I can use the HD2's in-built player with Audio Booster and SRS Wow 1.5.xx. The combination sounds just as good as my Sony walkman, and delivers good quality at all frequecies.
However, I have two grievances that needs to be resolved somehow.
1) The Audio Boosters turns off every 5 mins. The only two "fixes" that I have seen do not work; the cab provided by Touch-X or the advice from the Leo Tips and Hints thread to keep the Audio Booster running in the background. Neither of these actually work.
2) The music playback always stutters when something network related is happening in the background, whether it be an SMS coming through or changing from 3G to HDSA. It is very annoying, and didnt happen with my N95, so why with a 1GHz "beast"?
Do you think HTC are aware, and is it worth asking them about it?
Thanks.
Any body care to comment, or everybody more interested in the fake HD3 and the SMS bugs?
boss i do have similar issue ....
cruel htc have looted our cash with this Buggy crap .............
i hate u htc for hd2.........

I dont hate HTC. My phone is working fine apart from the above. There may be other faults in features I dont use, but I am guessing that most of the bugs are inherent in the Sense interface. Looks like the first time they built Sense into WinMo wasnt the best idea.
hey i dont know if you know this by now but if you press the X button in the right upper corner instead of the done button when you adjusting the audio booster it´s saves it for all the songs. annoying bugg butt this is a soulotion that works. bad english but who cares i am from sweden and good luck

Is it possible to increate the volume

Hi guys,
when I use a headset, the volume is most of the time not loud enough for me. Has anyone tried to increase the volume when using a headset? I'd probably root the device (SM-P600) if necessary, but I would not want to use another image then the stock image.
Has anyone experience with this?
EDIT: Typo in the title - but I guess you already figured that out
You will have to root and use viper4android mate really works a treat on all outputs. Works on the inbuilt speakers, headphones and Bluetooth each can be turned on and adjusted independently so don't have to have all on if you don't want. You can keep stock image if you want or try bindroids mega blast rom which has it preinstalled and runs a lot faster and smoother than stock does but still keeping the same look and feel.
You could use a small battery powered external microphone amp

Sometimes the solution can be so easy.
I did not know that there are small headphone amps available, but I bought one now and it solved my issues. The volume is now loud enough.

Thanks! If I will root my device one day, I'll give it definitely a try. I just wanted to avoid rooting in the first 6 months because of warranty issues, but for the moment I have a good intermediate solution.
Yes, change in system/etc/default_gain.conf.
:good:

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) Sound Playback Issue

I have had the tablet for just over a week and although it has some issues it is running ok. The latest issue I have noticed (among others ) is that sometimes when playing music (through any music/video player) I cannot hear anything, it just goes silent (after pressing pause/play)-the music is definitely playing as the progress bar in the music player shows so. Then when tapping the pause/play button all I hear is a ear aching crackle. Does anyone else have this issue? It doesn't happen all the time but occurs on a daily basis. A reboot fixes it (but then it eventually returns again)...
I had the same problem but i got it fixed. Turn off adapt sound. Sound->Soundquality and effects->Adapt Sound->turn off
Is it only when using earphones or also using the internal speakers?
Try pairing it to a Bluetooth speaker or earphone just to make sure that it is a software problem or not.

I haven't noticed it when using the speakers (I rarely use these when listening to music), only with earphones. I don't have any bluetooth speakers. The fact that it works sometimes means it has to be software right? I have noticed several bugs (incl. random reboots-sd card related?), the software is the buggiest I have used in a while, I expected better from Samsung.

I'll see how it goes. I haven't used Xposed (and any modules) for a while now, I don't root my devices anymore-those days are long gone lol.
Disabling the UHQ Upscaler (and all other music enhancements) did nothing unfortunately, I have had enough of this tablet, I will contact the retailer and see what they say.

I ended up returning the tablet, too many issues, incl. random reboots etc... But I got the 7" version instead as it better suits my needs plus costs half the price. :victory:
No bugs or major issues on this one.

For one, on MM it used to glitch and stop for a very brief second each time I would listen to music and turn off the screen. On N, it doesn't do that anymore. That would be enough for me.
On the other hand, and this might only be a placebo effect, to me audio seems cleaner than it used to be on MM. Also maximum volume has increased.

Equalizer apps not working...

3rd party equalizer apps will not work with this phone for some reason. The stock one (audio effects) is terrible and only works with Google Play Music, not other streaming apps.
Is there a way to get these to work? I have tried with stock rom and rooted stock rom with no luck. I'm open to running a custom ROM if that is what it takes.
Thanks for any help.
Works fine in Poweramp

poweramp's equalizer doesn't seem to work either. I have tried Google Play and Slacker Radio. Neither one were impacted by poweramp settings.
Certainly works here mate although it is only going to affect things played via Poweramp obviously (UK SIM free 32GB with 3GB RAM)

So this doesn't address the problem. How do you get equalizers to work universally with audio apps? Old versions of Android had no such problems. Is this a Nougat issue or a Moto version of Nougat issue?

You need magisk for viper?
As an update for this thread, I found that after rooting you can uninstall the stock Audio Effects and then 3rd party equalizers start to work. They still don't work perfectly but at least changes to the settings start making an impact.
The problem with this is changing the settings wrong causes the sound to completely crackle and go faint. resetting the equalizer settings and rebooting is the only way to get normal sound back.

I finally figured out what this was and it led me to installing Viper4Android FX. Works perfectly. Thank you for this suggestion.
