Louder volume/Dual speaker plus other stuff - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Themes, Apps, and Mods

before i begin, this is my 1st thread for anything like this. i have had this info for quite some time now. the following is for those who want louder volumes and or dual speaker for any type of media. louder volumes will be louder everything! Spen, calls, notifications, etc.
ONLY FOR THE NOTE 9. ROOT ONLY
Additionally i have some custom Spen sounds. see the post 1 for more info on that! now without further hesitation.
YOU CAN FLASH THESE VIA TWRP OR YOU CAN MANUALLY INSTALL VIA VENDOR/ETC/ REPLACE THE GAINS AND SUCH AS IT SHOWS AND MAKE EVERYTHING YOU REPLACE RW-R-R OR 0644
View attachment 4615416
View attachment OREO_MAGISK_S9_S9+_DualSpeaker.zip
View attachment OREO_TWRP_S9_S9+_DualSpeaker.zip
Follow instructions as described and you will have success.
#1 download
#2 flash via magisk twrp or manual install
#3 reboot and profit!
TO INSTALL THE SPEN SOUNDS READ READ READ THE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED!
Donations are not needed but are welcomed and help keep me going. i do this as a hobby and would like to make a job of it someday if able.
THIS IS FOR ROOT ONLY AND ONLY FOR THE EXYNOS VERSION OF THE NOTE 9. THE 9600 VERSION COULD WORK BUT I DO NOT OWN ONE TO TEST.

Is this method must root or not?

exactly. i made the thread because i am tired of having to search n search for stuff id want and require on my devices and more often than not, coming up empty handed so i made a thread for those who are like me in that regard. yes the xml fiels i have listed are for the s9. yes they work for thre note 9 and note 8 and pretty much any device running oreo. however, the spen stuff is pretty unfamiliar and thought id share since not even the note 8 threads make mention of it. your welcome

@this.guy.lol Is the manual installation and magisk installation any different? I think the magisk installation only gives you louder speakers but the manual installation also gives you louder headphone volume.. I could be wrong though

[Audio] V4A Flashable | AROMA installer available

V4A Recovery Flashable .zip
Hi,
I made a flashable .zip wich install V4A and the driver for our nexus.
Very usefull with the flashafterupdate folder for those who use Omni or those who want to install this great app directly after flashing his prefered rom
What is V4A ?It's an app based on the DSP Manager but tweaked in order to render the best of your music.
For this you can modify a ton of Settings ! (think to use the expert mode : Menu > UI Setting Expert)
Here you will found all the settings explained.

Download :V4A flashable zip
Features :
- Flashable zip
- SuperQuality driver
- Audio config with V4a support
- 24 bit 192Khz support (lg g2 files)
AROMA - V4A Installer
Features :
- Aroma
- Choose the driver you want
- Audio config v4a support
- Works on any phone.
Original Thread :Dont forget to hit thanks button to @zhuhang's post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Any Suggestions ?
you can participate to the aroma project here : https://github.com/V4Android/aroma
Thanks. We already have a thread for this.
Fyi, v4a works better in priv-app. Also your zip is missing audio_effects.conf and audio_policy.conf aswell about 9 other libs.
Have a look at our existing thread.

OK lets not try to make this into a "Which zip is best" contest.
Both have their pros and cons:
Your Zip: Can't choose which driver you install (Super / Hi / Battery) but does remove steps for Installing.
Other Zip: Installs more libs but extra steps needed for drivers
What I don't care about:
Who makes the zips
What I do care about:
There is only 1 ViPER4Android thread.
The few of us decided a while ago that we would use the discussion thread for all Viper related stuff. We locked all the existing threads and kept 1 because it had lots of valuable discussion in it.
The problem with the thread is that the OP is not up to date or helpful. The solution to this is that someone takes ownership of that OP and maintains it.
I don't think having this as the main thread is a good idea as all that information is gone. Multiple threads just gets too confusing.
Here is what I think we should do....
Why don't you collaborate with the existing zip makers to make an ultimate zip? Perhaps an Aroma installer zip would be best where you can choose which driver is pre-installed? Or just 3 separate zips, one with each driver?
Then whoever owns the OP of the original thread can post it. Remember XDA is about sharing, not about "thanks" so I don't see any reason not to collaborate with them.

I don't know if this matter, but I can do an universal AROMA script, you only need to give me that three zips for each driver and I will do it. I can use the GitHub so will be more easy to update :good:

The drivers as far as I've seen only changes the sampling rates. Which can basically be thought of as like a megapixel on a camera. The higher the sampling rate, the more detailing nuances and frequencies can be brought out. Of course that really only applies if the sound source is at a higher rate as well.

What would also be good is if it could read a .conf file stored on /sdcard (like elementalx aroma) so there can be an express zip that reads .conf and flashes "favourite" driver
Although that might be more complicated.

I'm sorry those buttons were misleading and downloading bloatware like addons.
The link only worked not the BUTTONS. Thank you very much.
I just change the rom and I see that the Dolby digital plus you have shared in not much better than I had in earlier rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/canvas-4/development/rombuzz-v1-0-t2838533). The Dolby digital plus in this rom is great audio wise (Its with blue interface with custom, audio, video and game modes). I tried to install that in my new rom but its not supporting and its stuck in boot loop so installed yours and its working good but its not better than which is in that rom. I would like the Dolby digital plus with Blue interface I dont remember the version though. Can you do it please ?

You have to use root explorer (download it form play store).
-Extract from the .zip you've downloaded these two files:
Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and mixer_paths.xml
-With root explorer go to the folder System/etc/acdbdata, find the original file Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and make a backup of it.
-Now move the Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb you've extracted to the folder System/etc/acdbdata and it will ask to replace the file, say yes.
-Now tap on the file Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and open the menu of root explorer and click on permissions.
Set them to read write in first line, read in second line, read in third line.
Under There's the octal under, make sure before hitting ok it's 0644. Hit ok and you're done.
-Now go to the etc folder and find the mixer_paths.xml file and make a backup of it.
-Now move the mixer_paths.xml you've extracted to the folder System/etc and it will ask to replace the file, say yes.
-Now tap on the file mixer_paths.xml and open the menu of root explorer and click on permissions.
Set them to read write in first line, read in second line, read in third line.
Under There's the octal under, make sure before hitting ok it's 0644. Hit ok and you're done.
Reboot the phone and you're ready to go.
Hope it will help you.

Hey Keithross39,
nice to see that you're still active in XDA and still so helpful, hehehe.
Thank you for redirecting people to my thread, I will make sure to help TheKingDragon as much as possible, his problem doesn't seem to be complicated and in my opinion, he might also have followed your last instructions for the V4 file (which is too loud in my opinion) but he might have set wrong the permissions or didn't restart the phone, lol. Other than that, it could also be that he used a file meant for another android version rather than another phone model, I doubt the G900H will have any difference in the XML file comparing to the G900F, it's not like they have done a "pimp my ride" subwoofer in the 900H, which then would need a few more code lines in the XML lol
I will reply to TheKingDragon in my thread in the next hour, I still have a guy to finish helping with a microphone volume problem.
Have a great weekend Keithross39
TheKingDragon, please post your XML file in the thread that Keithross39 shared with you in the first reply. I will edit it for you, but what is it that you want to increase (boost)? Phone speaker or Headset?
Hi @Elements1984 glad to see you're still active on here too......
I have your thread bookmarked so that I can easily provide a link to people who will benefit from it......
All the best......
Keith.

Nice to hear back from you Keith
Thank you for bookmarking my thread, I wonder how to make it a sticky on XDA so that people can benefit from it without needing to search through a million other threads, especially that I don't "bump" my thread to the top, lol. Oh, and I have to find a way to correct the title, since there is a "y" missing at the end of "quality", lol.
By the way, I have updated the original post today since it seems some CyanogenMod ROMs don't have a mixer_paths.xml file but rather another file named snd_soc_msm_2x which is situated in : system/etc/snd_soc_msm
I thought this information might be important to share with you since most roms are based on CM and a user might ask you why he can not find the file for the sound
If you have a bit of time, I have a guy that I tried to help with a bluetooth microphone volume problem but I am running out of ideas, maybe you can bring your input or provide new ideas on what can be done, he goes by the name rk2612 and his first post is number 38 on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/guide-technical-explanation-boost-t3202087/page4
I just finished blindly editing the XML file for TheKingDragon since I don't have a similar phone to try with, lol, let's hope it works fine.
Hi @Elements1984 I'll have a look at the post you mentioned but you are the one with the experience needed to help.....I probably wouldn't know where to start.....
And as for editing the title of the thread, if you use the XDA app (as I do most of the time) and go to edit your OP, you can touch the title and do your edit.....easy as....
I'll pm a mod to suggest getting your thread sticky-ed.....just have to see what they think......

Google Lens

Hello guys,
I wanted to ask if there is any simple way how to enable Lens on our Tissot. If you know some, post the full step-by-step tutorial here.
Thanks.

It's device independent and works completely fine with Oreo.

Is there another way? More specifically flashable zip that would enable it without rooting?
Question 2: Is the also flashable zip for Google camera and AR stickers?
Appreciate your help and reply.

You can try to replace files in system directly, though no idea why would you want to do that. If you can't find flashable zip, unpack Magisk module and replace system files with those in module + modify build.prop accordingly. Don't forget to set correct files permissions (use info from original files or from Magisk module). Same applies to Google camera with AR stickers. Keep stock system.img at hand in case you screw something up.
