I JUST started using PIE controls by coolace (due to having seen it on this threat). It is working great so far, no slowdown or hangs or anything.
I am using snapdragon Note 9
Thanks for mentioning the app by the way, I think it might be favorite edge/gesture control now (have tried many)

btw my is really slow right ?

i found one funny issue with my pie control, if i open pie control in any screen other than home screen, it work perfectly but in home screen it take few second to load, any one have idea what it cause ?

I am actually taking back my recommendation on this app...
more than once I have had it kind of "take over" my screen.
What I mean is, any touch on my screen is attempting to touch something in PIE control (and not actually graphically showing PIE control, btw).
you effectively can't do anything at that point.
Its been a few days since I stopped using it, but I really did pretty exhaustively try to figure out how to stop this.
I really liked this app's "swipe" method instead of pulling the PIE out and having to like hold on a button for a quick sec, this app lets you do it in a smooth swiping motion.
Anyways, ive given up and gone back to onscreen navigation keys.
Every method I have tried (including XDA's navigation) has had some small hangups that eventually have problems working.
And no I haven't reported errors and such in respective threads, I just give up because my "lots of effort into having a hacky phone" days are behind me

Premium Suite, I made a very small video

I just recorded a small video showing the formula introduction and search in the new Snote app in the ICS update.
http://youtu.be/xuNOewO5yNo
Ps: I set the OS language to "català" in case you are wondering.
Do you have 'MY Story'?
It's supposed to be part of the Premium Suite, but I can't seem to find it
Very nice! Surprised as how good the recognition is!
Is this the German 4.0.3 official release?
Yes, it is the German official release.
I updated downlading the update from sammobile to be able to update through mobile odin and keep root access.
So far, so good.
About "My Story", I cannot find it, I only have "mini Diary", but since I don't have my language set to English and I never used the old application, I have no clue if it is new or old.
My only issue is I keep having both the new S Memo app and the old one.
no my story
and we can't take photos from lockscreen from android4?
I have added a few screenshots of internet benchmarks.
Unfortunately I am unable to make screenshots pressing Home+Power buttons.
I also cannot set the screen brightness sliding my finger through the notifications bar
There is a new option to show the battery in %, sweet!!

Double Tap Lock & Wake Feature

Does anyone has any idea regarding how the double tap to lock and wake works?
Need a port to other devices
I highly doubt it works on rom or device other than the g2 stock rom at this point.
Maybe scrosler knows.
I believe it is part of the launcher.... I thought I read some where that if you installed 3rd party launcher you lost that function...

Or download "Lock Screen" from the play store and make a double tap gesture with nova launcher that opens the activity of that app. That's what I did and I have the double tap to lock working. The unlock works regardless of launcher.

I attempted to write an app to do this a long time ago. If its app-based like that, it needs to keep at least a partial wakelock on the phone to "listen" for the knock knock.
My guess is, on a multi-core CPU like the G2 has, they are turning off all but one core and putting that one core in the lowest MHz it will run, just to "listen" for the knock knock. Not app-based, but kernel based (like PGM). Clearly this doesnt use very much battery at all, as judged by the stellar battery life people have been reporting and that Ive seen on my own G2.

hi
I thought it worked off a motion sensor.. unlike the HTC One kernels and franciscofranco's mako kernel, which use the touchscreen. I can't remember where I read it but I think it uses motion sensors for this, gyro or something
I don';t think it uses the main CPU cores, it uses another ultra low power one to work. This is why these features drain so much on the One, because it doesn't have the extra things that the G2 and MotoX have
no idea what I am doing in this forum but I thought I'd answer it
Edit:
The software platform is Android 4.2.2, and atop that is LG’s skin. LG has added a bunch of new features to its skinned Android experience, although its visual themeing remains essentially unchanged. Double tap to turn on and off uses the built in accelerometer to wake the phone up or turn it off – you just double tap quickly on the device when it’s in an off state to turn it on, and double tap quickly on a blank part of the display or status bar to turn it off. I don’t have a problem getting my index finger to the raised power button, but this is obviously an accommodation just in case that’s difficult.

I lose about 1% battery every 3-4 hours when idle the whole time so while it may consume more battery the amount lost doesn't matter to me since idle drain is still hardly anything.
With the screen off and in the right light I can see hundreds of small grid like squares. I always assumed that they had something to do with the knock on feature.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT the accelerometer.
I tried it, and it even works with the slightest touch I can do. I hardly touched it at all. Can't believe, that there was any motion.
Furthermore it doesn't work when knocking with my fingernail or any other thing.
So I think, it really works by touch-recognition by the display.

you are right. it's definitely the touch screen waiting for the touches.
just try it on the edges on the screen - still works. next to the edges - doesn't work.
There's this post that I read somewhere from HardwareZone:
Not too sure if this is a solution, my imagination or simply I have gotten perfect overnight on using the KnockON feature but the insensitivity issue, that many and myself, have been facing is now gone - since last night, after I performed the following tests on my G2. (Yes, thses are merely TESTS, so wasn't expecting much..)
I got my set on the 26/9/13 and until last night this function got rather spot-on accurate and is not behaving in that erratic manner any more - at least for me. Here are the steps :
First Test
- Key in 3845#*802# on your phone dial.
- HW Device Test > Touch Test > Multi Touch Test
At this point, drag your finger across the screen from corner-to-corner and when your done. Press Volume-Up key once to exit.
Second Test
- From the same menu select "Touch Sensing Test 7*12"
- Tap in every box as many times as you want and on the red text as well at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Volume-Up Once to see result
- Press Volume-up again to Exit
- Finally, to exit the whole menu just use "return" soft key.
Once again, I like to highlight as strange as it may sound the above method has worked for me. And if not, then something definitely has. Do take note, Rockwell screen protector is still on and lastly, please do share your findings.

I tried it and strangely this seems to work. I can't tell if it's placebo but now I'm a hell lot more confident that my phone will wake up at the first pair of knocks.
Also, this is definitely true for me:
The knock on is 100% effective the first try when my phone is lying flat on my desk OR vertical on a car mount. In fact, these are the only 2 instances where I actually use KnockON. When I hold my phone, I naturally use the power button. Yes, I still do have probs with knockON when I use my thumb to wake it up while holding the phone.
3845#*802# did nothing for me. No menu.
There are apk for the knock on feature. But I'm sure there are libs and services involved

Could be the motion sensor. Try doing the double tap while holding the phone in your hand... It become completely unreliable. BUT, it's 100% reliable for me while the phone is laying on a flat surface.

Another lag fix idea

Right I've been follow like most the threads about sorting out the lag we sometimes receive on the G3.
I tried the fixes and while improved it's not gone.
So I decided to fiddle and to my surprise improved things alot.
Go into Developer option and tick DISABLE HW OVERLAYS
I used to notice lag when going in the app drawer and hitting the home button, a pause, stutter then animation. Now it has a millisecond pause and a smooth animation to the home screen.
Give it ago and report back.
Yeah, well, I saw no such improvement. Furthermore, that setting doesn't persist after a reboot.
If you want it to remain, you'd need to edit build.prop and change:
'debug.composition.type=c2d'
to
'debug.composition.type=gpu' (or cpu)
It's not worth it in my opinion, if there is a difference, I'd need to run home quickly to grab my atomic clock to measure the difference.
No difference for me either

That phone does not have a camera. It is a petty. HTC will probably disappear soon: they have not been able to get benefits in 2013 and 2014. Customers currenty dont want to know about them due to evil sw update policy. I dont think a clever customer will buy an HTC.

LoL...I don't notice any lag on my G3. What's kind of funny is some M8 users said the camera was fine back when it came out. Months later they like the G3 camera better. HTC took a gamble on the M8 camera and failed. Imo
This helped a lot. Things are a lot snappier.

Wow, Wow, Ohh.....

Hi Guys, I've just bought a 6T....12 Hrs ago.
I love it, it gave me a real Wow switching it on.
There's just 3 things niggling me.
1. One speaker? Really? One Speaker?
2. The Clock and Weather Widgets, I can't get them lined up on the screen, also the trademark Red digit is not incorporated into the clock widget and both the weather and clock widgets show the date....!!! So side by side they not only don't align they repeat the same data and don't match.
3. Can't hide apps....would be nice to hide a load of stock apps I will never use.
Apart from those 3 gripes, the phone is amazing.
I absolutely love it and am very, very glad to be part of the OnePlus community.

Let me tell you what I've learned since I have gotten mine. I'm not sure about the clock and weather widget. But at far as the single speaker, this phone doesn't need 2. I completely agree with the OP regarding the feeling when using this phone. I had been a long time htc fan but after TMobile stopped carrying it, I was lost because the os experience was severely lacking from the other manufacturers. I'm on jump on demand and I tried fiddling around with lg and Samsung for a little bit but just want satisfied. Finally made the switch to iPhone and was happy for 2 years with apple, however after apple pulled the stunt of increasing prices for subpar upgrade to the iPhone this year, left a bad taste in my mouth and when I saw TMobile will carry the one plus, I decided to jump and give it a shot. It's been a long time since I had the feeling of having the perfect phone and this is coming from someone who tends to change phones every 3 to 4 months due to the freedom provided by JOD. I will be keeping this until the next upgrade from one plus comes out. Plus I got lucky as one of the reps sim unlocked my phone even though I met none of their criteria for unlock in the spirit of Thanksgiving holiday! So a pleasant bonus and now currently waiting for bootloader unlock code for root. The only reason I want to root is due to completely and utterly blocking ads from everything including apps. That is one thing I miss from apple. A lot less ads on the device compared to Android, however that should be resolved soon. This stock os is perfect otherwise! Amazing battery life, extremely fast charging, and buttery smooth! What else can one ask for!

But there is no clock with the red digit.
There is however a setting for the red digit clock for the lockscreen...so somewhere in the phone is a red digit clock widget!!!

Yep it's a great phone....very very glad I made the switch from HTC.
Advertisement wise you can use Edge browser with AdBlocker extension. It helps a lot.
I still haven't had one glitch or stall!!!
It's been nothing but super smooth...
Hey look at the widgets I've found...
The red digit is only the 1. Anytime a 1 shows in the temperature or time, it's red.

Movement of multitasking

Hi guys.
I have a problem I'm not sure it's a problem.
When I move in multitasking it is not smooth, I have noticed in other terminals that when it slides it does it without stopping in each application, which is what happens to me, I have to go one by one moving through them. It's a little frustrating.
I have the S9+ and mine does the same...read that it's suppose to be like that on ONE UI

Am assuming u have either or & :
1- reduce animations enabled
2- changed values of transition speed in developer mode
I had the same, but few days ago i thought let me disable both and i discovered how smooth everything is, including swiping through multitasking.
Give it a try..
