Only back. Portrait is working
It's 85% working, not fully working.

Installed fine on my note 9, will test it out later when I go for a walk.

Link not working, please provide alternate link.

everything is working except front portrait ....

Hi! Thank you for this. Can you post some of the recommended settings, if any?

So how does this compare to the default Samsung Camera? Because I find that to be quite smart and awesome especially with the intelligent recognition of scenes...

Doesn't work for me. Whenever I enable HDR+ images will fail to process. The shutter button becomes unresponsive and images do not save.

Hmm, thanks. However, the test shots I have just made aren't as detailed as on the S-camera, is there a setting set that needs to be done? Any tips?

front portrait still not working perfectly

I think only S Camera takes such sharp images, GCam does not

No one has managed to get it to work on s9 so i guess we will have to wait a little bit

The Samsung cam's pictures are over-sharpened. Looks bad at 1:1.
Gcam is much better in that regard.

the quality of Gcam is terrible, unless if you're taking a bright scene under the sun, the pictures taken by Gcam just couldn't compare to the sharpness and quality of samsung stock camera. I've just uninstalled it prior of replying this.

[Q] Night Mode photos?

my phone hasn't arrive yet, so i can't check it myself
Can some one check in the stock Camera software to see if it has the Night Mode option?
if not, we should get a port over of the SGS camera App.apk which offers very good Night Mode even at near dark conditions
Thanks!

Nope, no night mode. I did love that feature on my Vibrant as the flash will only work a certain distance. The camera app is the same (or at least looks it) as the stock builds for N1 or Cyanogen Mods. I would love to keep my stock camera, but add the SGS camera as a secondary app.
thanks! for the confirmation.
okay, time to dig out the APK and files related to the stock SGS camera

and that is exactly the reason why i prefer the Night Mode, than a flash
the only use i have for the Flash is to use it as a flash lite to look for stuff in a dark room

If you're gonna pull it, any way for you to name it something like SGScamera and post it up here? That way perhaps we can get it working in conjunction with the stock. I also loved the tap to focus, which stock doesn't have unfortunately.
I think you'll get the same issue as when trying to pull the browser from the i9000; it won't run due to incompatibilities between froyo and gingerbread.
There are a few bits Samsung put in later galaxy s roms that would be nice to see in gingerbread. Its open source so why not?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
HUH? THERE IS NIGHT MODE.
Click the right most (or upper most) button, scroll down to "scene mod" and select NIGHT.
Only issue is, the camera preview slows to a crawl, but thats probably normal.
this camera/phone has some of the best low light and night pictures i have ever seen from a phone
Wow..hot damn. I'm sorry for the misinformation. I tried scrolling down in that menu the very first time I opened it and it didn't work, so I figured that was all. Thanks for the correction!!

Google Camera Photosphere`s blurry

Hello
I love the Photosphere function of the Google Camera.
Iit seems the camera have trouble to focus.
Every seconds "point" I capture is blurry. I think its something with the focus.
Its very frustrating.
You can see some blurry spots:

Anyone have a Idea how to fix it?
Is it maybe a Kernel Problem?
Once it was working properly...
Thank you
I have the same problem. Weird.

Now I Installed Android 4.4.4 CM11 (UB),
And Photosphere works very fast and great again. But the CM version is not very stable.

Works fine on my phone. It would have helped if you posted some sample photos here so that we could see what you are referring to i.e. full resolution pngs here or at least a direct link to a photo rather than a page on some third party hosting site. The EXIF information would also have been invaluable.
The two most likely causes would be movement or show shutter speeds. Have you tried a tripod in a well lit room? Did that make any difference? When you did a forum search, did you find anyone else reporting problems (and what keywords did you search on)? More information and in particular sample photos would garner more useful replies.

Hello
I have been using Photospheres for two years.
Now with CM11 its working as it should again.
It seems like the Stock Firmware was causing this problem on my S5.
Now it captures very fast and sharp.
Before it was impossible to make a photosphere. Almost every snapshot was out of focus and I had to recapture maaaany times.
Now the Photosphere is working fast and without focus problems.
https://www.google.com/maps/views/view/114377602391908907492/gphoto/6054044742624950402
I`m happy with this results.
But the Google Camera App crashes often now. Sometimes while rendering the Photosphere the camera crashes and I loose my Panorama.
Hope with further CM11 updates the camera will works stable.
I have the same problem, but it is difficult for me to switch to CM, is it possible may be to use CM camera driver with stock firmware?
I have same problem with Lollipop
Same problem in any ROM . stock 6.0.1 , cm 14 and RR 5.8.1 with any version of google camera 2.5, 2.7, 3.2, 4.1. focus blurry, in one photosphere 30% or more shots. that is BIG problem for me.
I really need help to solve this problem.

[Q] camera g-sensor orientation issue.

Hello everybody.
I just bought note 4, but i found a stupid issue, the g-sensor in camera is wrong calibrated.
When i hold the phone vertically, the spot in surround mode or virtual tour shows wrong place.
P.S.
My device is new without root.
Tried other same devices, same issue. Others doesn't.
I tried sensor calibration apps. No result.

Any idea?
Does Surround mode even work in vertical position? I assume you have no problem using it horrizontaly.
I thought I replied to this, but I don't see the reply anymore
That's normal... it just means your camera isn't level - move it up to the circle and it'll start taking pictures .

I don't think he wants an up - down surround, but rather a left - right.

Surround mode will do up, down, left, and right - it's a 360 pano, like PhotoSphere. If you just need a left-right pano, then use Panoramic mode :good:

No worries - that said, I had an update for both the panoramic mode and surround mode through the Galaxy App store in the past few days. Not sure what they fixed or if it works better - no changelog.
Thanks to all for replies.. but the problem that it must shoot at vertical. I can move up. But in virtual mode it will shoot sky..
I think the problem in the calibration if sensors

Camera starts to blurr on increasing distance after 30cm from object

Untill i was using MIUI everything was fine but after I flashed lineage OS 14.1 camera quality is decreased but still it was fine. Then i tried different gcam mods and flashed a couple of zip files in hope that camera will became better but it's quality is totally low now. Even i reverted back to MIUI to see if that fix the issue but still its persisting. I have tried Miui Stock Camera, Bacon Camera, Open Camera all having the same issue.
About Issue : On taking a picture from distance it becomes blurry the more I increase distance more it will become blurry. Picture starts to blurr after moving the camera away more than 30cm (i know it's hard to believe)
Check the screen shots and plzzz help me...

I think, thats your camera problem Not the rom / apps problem.
Yes your camera isnt using focus just flash some zip files for focus and it will work again thats the cameras focus problem
It happened with me, i had to disassemble my mobile and adjust camera module a bit to get the focus right.
Follow this guide on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcLhQtdzY4A, its not for our device but you can have a loot at it for a reference.

0.6x camera not working

Hey, got my 9T today, everything seems to work fine all but the 0.6x camera which doesnt seem to do anything. I can switch between it but there's no difference to a regular 1x.
Tbh the whole default app is super buggy.
Example: I switch to 2x camera, then I take a pic but tapping the gallery button does nothing, then I try to take another pic and the whole app freezes. Then I looked into the gallery and there was no pic there at all.
Please tell me if this is normal, at first I thought the 0.6x camera thing might be a hardware issue, but its really not just the 0.6x camera that's buggy. The whole app is unstable.
Anybody else having these problems?
Also, if I try to use the "Portrait" mode in the default camera, the app closes with this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Only issue I have is when coming back to the camera app from the RAM, the viewfinder doesn't work unless I change modes
Well after a bit of testing it seems that only the middle camera gets used during the process. Even switching to 2x (whuch works btw) seems to only work from the middle camera.
Any input is welcome. Cause I've got no idea what's up.

No problem on my Mi 9T, switching between cameras goes smoothly and there's a noticable distinction for each camera. The stock camera app also works perfectly fine, the AI mode adjusts automatically depending on the ambient environment.
Have you tried hardware test at *#*#64663#*#* ?
I had the same problem with my mi 9t pro, two weeks after i bought it the portrait and wide angle cameras stopped working. I tried reset factory and it didn't help and the camera was like that for about 20 days until one day the phone was on the table and i accidentally dropped it, I don't know why but the first thing i checked to see if it was working was the camera and magically wide angle and portrait cameras were fixed!
I think your issue is GCAM
You should test on stock camera to point out a hardware problem.
I've got the same problem with the 0.6x and portrait camera on my k20 pro. Did a search online and found a few people with the same problems on their k20's/k20 pro's. I've tried factory reset and flashing a different rom but it still doesn't work, the hardware test doesn't work either. Hoping that there is a solution for this...

The 2x camera is only used when the scene conditions are just right. On many cases (for example, when there's poor illumination) the image is way better on the main camera.
It is an old thread, but any updated here? I got the same issue.
