Any solution for SM-T813 bootloop at low battery (~20%) on stock firmware? - Galaxy Tab S2 General

My T813 has been experiencing boot loops almost every time that the battery level gets down to 20% or slightly lower. It boot loops until it entirely discharges unless I connect it to the charger, in which case it remains usable even at the low battery levels while its charging.
This issue has been persisting for a little over a year now, probably beginning with the initial OTA flash to Nougat (all stock). I've reset the tablet for a clean flash but the issue still persists.
I'm currently using the most recent stock build T813XXS2BRF2. It seems unlikely that this tablet will ever receive an official Oreo build.
Here's are my questions:
-Has this happened to any of you?
-Is there a fix using stock firmware?
-Has rooting the device and switching to LineageOS eliminated this issue?
Thanks in advance.

I have that too and it means you need to replace the battery if you cannot live with it.

I have a new T813 still running stock. I don' t mean to threadjack your boot loop thread, but yours is the only thread I can find that references the T813 series of TAB S2'S.
DO you happen to know if the T813 is well supported by TWRP and LINEAGE. If so, which sub-brand of TWRP
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 2015 (Wi-Fi) (gts210wifi)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 WiFi (2016) (gts210vewifi) *
Purchased from costco.ca, I suspect * gts210vewifi because of the 2016 model year.
Any thoughts or experience from a front runner?
Thanks & kind regards,
/Scott

I ended up switching to Lineage. The problem with the random reboots persisted. The battery simply needs to be changed. Lack of OEM samsung batteries and a marketplace flooded with fakes and device that's difficulty to pry open make this all a huge headache.
To install lineage I used twrp-3.2.3-0-gts210vewifi.img.tar. Google around for a download link and instructions. I believe the lineage wiki suggest heimdall, but I used Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD. Again, read the instructions you'll find.
Yes, gts210vewifi is the right lineage for your device. Once you've flashed TWRP recovery, you can easily install lineage by booting to recovery and installing off a zip from the sd card.
Lineage works well. aside from the reboot troubles which I'm ascribing to a faulty battery. The fingerprint reader is more finicky, perhaps, but it's always been a slight headache even using stock

Sounds like a strange issue that I've never experienced on my aging T715.
In the first instance, maybe flash Marshmallow using odin. That way you will be able to understand if its a Nougat issue? If you still suffer on Marshmallow, it sounds like a hardware issue to me.

i have same problem on my t713 -_-

I have a Tab S2 713 and I experience the low battery reboot loop, but mine happens even sooner, around 40 - 50% battery left, depending what I'm doing.
If I plug in the charger, it will run without rebooting like that.
I've commonly seen people fixing this problem by replacing the batter - I have seen no other solution (no software fix).

[Q] Benefits to a Nougat Upgrade?

The A7U with MM (as I have modified it) has been very satisfactory, but I continue to debate over the upgrade to N7.0.
I did try some early Nougat versions on the old Nexus 5 and a Samsung tablet and ended up reverting back due to various performance issues, but that was a while ago.
Also, some here have reported problems either with the process or with the function of the end resut, so I am looking for some recommendations pro or con about making the move to B15.
Thanks

I'm on N and the only reason im on N is because ZTE fixed the VoLTE and its not roaming on Verizon any more. Pretty much works as it should and acts just like a Verizon device which is impressive, because we never get to play with unlocked devices on Verizon.
Now to the actual B15 stuff. Its a bit more laggy then MM and a few apps are pretty much unusable on N. Those are WhatsApp and LinkedIn on my device. I think I've seen another one or two somewhere else.
Camera is definitely better for me. Battery is great for me but it was great before the update.
Pretty sure im forgetting a few things. Overall im happy with the device and even happier that VoLTE works now.
7.1.1 should be out soon, hopefully that takes care of these few issues.
All of this is covered in the nougat thread.
Seeing a higher build number in About Device

Thanks for your typical, cryptic response. I see lot of ROM threads and conflicting guides, but certainly no "Nougat thread". Can you offer a link?

This is the thread that was started when nougat was released.
It mostly covers flashing issues but there is feedback as well.
You can also read the zte forum for lots of N opinions, probably more then anyone could ever need.
Personally I think its ok, but only with custom kernel to speed it up. Hoping 7.1.1 will be better.

Thanks, hadn't seen it & gave it a read. I loaded Stock (rooted) 7.0 and found it fine. Perhaps a touch slower than MM, but certainly no noticeable problems (or benefit).
I had Substratum working 98% (including Android System) in MM so missed the darker theme. Also TB was unable to see its archive on the extSDcard, although worked fine when I moved it to the internal storage.
Also tried RR, but couldn't get Gapps to install over the ROM (TWRP errors: either unsupported device or incompatible ROM errors), so reverted back to B29 for now.
I saved a TWRP BU of B15 w/ all data for a starting point when 7.1 is released.

LOS 15.1 & 16 50% Battery Bug

A few of us have a battery bug in LOS 15.1&16. The battery constantly shows 50% in the taskbar and settings. I do not have this issue in any other roms (nfound Oreo, Pie, and stock B35). The battery also usually reads 50% while in twrp. I believe the issue is in the LOS vendor partition because when I dirty flash a Pie GSI over the LOS rom it sticks at 50. If I flash the same GSI over nfound's vendor partition I don't have the issue.
I've attempted deleting battery stats in system/data but it had no effect.
I've attempted going through cycles but the 50% remains.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
I would like to know too as this occurs on every single Lineage OS based rom on my A7, I installed AOSPExtended, which doesn't have this bug, but can't continue using it due to a call receiving glitch. Hopefully someone could give an answer.
this start to get interessting.
they ignore me and say my battery is bad,but when i went from custom stock ,to dotos with new vendor my phone got battery problems.i also believe the vendor is the problem,or maybe something in sys or persist folder
My battery only shows as 50% in TWRP when my data is encrypted and I haven't decrypted yet. Once I unlock it, the correct value shows.

Do you mean unlocking it through TWRP? How is this done as I have TWRP 1809 by Oki and can't find such a setting anywhere. I have this exact issue where TWRP just registers 50% and immediately thought the issues where related. Does this solve the issue within Lineage based Roms?

I've tried unofficial roms straight from Lineage and other Lineage based roms with no luck, they are all great besides the battery issue.
I will stick with AOSP Extended for a little bit more as I believe I got my no call received bug sorted by clean wipe and restoring the entire backup, can receive calls with no issues now. Though it looks as if NFound is no longer supporting the rom, which is obviously no good if I want to keep it. I could try a Pie based rom, already tried to follow a simple tutorial on how to get some, but unfortunately all the roms I tried on the recent post gives me a different error for each despite setting it up, atleast I think I have, correctly.
All in all, still having a better experience than stock.

Has anyone found a fix to this battery at 50% bug for Lineage Pie? I can assure you with 100% certainty that this is not a hardware issue on my device as when I flashed back to Lineage Oreo, my battery returns to 100% without any issues.
Thanks.

No.Los15+ destroyed my battery.I can charge to 100 but when i unplug it it jumps directly to 98%.Random shutdowns on 30%.
If you change battery its probably solved, but the software caused it

just a heads-up, that comment that's right above mine is total BS
The 50% bug is simply an issue with the vendor, i.e. not present on other Pie combinations. You could try LiquidRemix + Kranoner's vendor + Schwifty or hellsgate eas

@Choose an username... I was only saying that I know I don't have a battery hardware issue (as some have said when a person's LOS 16 installation is stuck at 50% that it is a battery hardware issue). I did not have this battery stuck at 50% problem when I was on LOS 15 (Oreo). I haven't tried LiquidRemix Pie ROM. I followed every step that was listed in the OP's LOS 16 posting.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this post with my questions now about other ROMs.
@Choose an username... Does LiquidRemix Pie ROM have any issues like camera/video? Wifi? Cell signal? GPS? Etc? I want badly to get on Android Pie and LOS16's battery gauge issue is so disappointing to me. Today, I was even thinking of returning to LOS15 where I did not have these battery gauge issues. With my Axon 7 phone's battery gauge now stuck at 50%, I have no idea if it's full or drained. LOL!
could the bootstack be responsible for the battery bug 50. cause when i install the bootstack that goes with official lineage 14.1 it seems to be fixed.

Nexus 6P started using all 8 cores again.....wtf???

So this is really weird.....I flashed LineageOS, based on Android 8.1, to my phone a couple months ago. I made sure to include the BLOD (boot loop of death) patch, as well as the 4-core version of TWRP because i do suffer from the BLOD with Android versions 8.0 and above.
Not sure exactly when it happened, but it seems that my phone has now started using all 8 cores again. lol
I'm definitely not complaining, but i would like to figure out why this has happened, and hopefully help provide a long-term fix for other Nexus 6P users.
I've included screenshots of my active cores being used, as well as ROM info for the version of LineageOS I'm using.
Can any senior members help me investigate this further? Just let me know what other info I can provide.
Thanks,
Rob
Yes..try to investigate this buddy..I Am also suffering from BLOD...Thanks
I also have the blod and was able to get over a week with all my 8 cores running and then it got stuck in one again. I used ex kernel manager to check the cores and after running pixel experience 9.0 with all the patches for blod I decided hell let's go back to 6.0.1 so I did and just tried not flashing any patched twrps and went along like I normally would if I had no blod. Got in saw all my cores running and was fine for a week or so then right back into it. Definitely enjoy it but it could be risky for a long trip or time away from a PC in case it comes back.
Well, I'm still running LineageOS and the phone is still working on all 8 cores. I've kept up-to-date with the LineageOS updates, but I've been too scared to try flashing any other ROM or Kernel!
I'm still down to do some testing. I just need a dev that's interested to chime in. My java skills are....limited, to say the least.
On a side note....absolutely love LineageOS! Hats off to them for making such an awesome ROM.
Rob
Where did you get the OS?
What are the exact steps to install this OS?

Galaxy Tab 4 "Value Edition" (SM-T533, matissevewifixxx)

Hi everybody,
I've been looking up and down in this sub-forum but can't seem to find an up-to-date ROM (Nougat or up) that seems to be suited as a daily driver for the Tab 4 SM-T533 "Value Edition" (WiFi only, no LTE). I understand it has a different SoC than the regular Tab 4, hence the ROMs available for that one won't work.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good alternative?
Currently, I am still on Stock Android 5, rooted (with SuperSU) and TWRP in place. So, I'm good to go, just need a decent ROM.
Thanks for any hints and tips!
Cheers
I have the Tab 4 10.1 wifi only edition t530 and there are craploads of roms. Old but still available. Most don't have working camera. I'm currently running a Dual Boot setup where Stock is my primary rom and LineageOS 14.1 is my secondary rom i can boot into whenever I'd like. Pie has also just been released for this device.

Thanks for getting back. Also for reminding me that I forgot to mention the model name. I edited the OP to point out that it's a SM-T533.
Now, the trouble is that the SM-T533 and the SM-T530 supposedly have different hardware so the ROMs for the 530 wouldn't run on the 533.
I'd be happy with Nougat already. Wouldn't even need to be Oreo or Pie.
Too bad, but it seems there aren't enough devices out there so that it would make sense for any developer to spend the time porting a ROM to the SM-T533.
Cheers

@musafir 7 Thanks for your reply. I don't believe that after two more years chances have become bigger that anyone puts a minute of work into this. :-( By the way: We still have the tab and it's still running, though it's being used only scarcely now.

Best Custom Rom for 2020.

There was currently the final update of the Rom Stock Android 10, security patch level as of October 6, 2019.
For a while now I feel that the phone drains the battery too much at times.
I was looking at Lineage OS v.16 as a viable option for my Google Pixel (Sailfish).
You who think of Lineage OS v.16 in this terminal, or if you know a better custom rom ... tell me your experiences.
I'll probably swtich off stock to Lineage OS 16 in 2020

Pixel Dust X (only on sourceforge, no xda post yet)
The most stabble 10 rom with a lot of features (more than evolutionx)
Upgrade to atleast Pixel 2. The pixel 1 chip is just downright horrible as daily phone especially those with daily usage of internet media consumption. It will stutter even scrolling or on the start page of a game like Mobile Legend. Even a snapdragon 625 is better

Anything different after going to Android 9?
Battery improved?
Im thinking to just replace the battery.
It dit not work to downgrade to Android 9. I didn't get Magisk to run. But LineageOS worked and that is Android 9. everything is working fine so far, need some time to check the battery but I know that Android 9 was much better for my battery before I upgraded to Android 10. And I think there are no features which are missing now. New is not always better.
If you want to use Lineage, OpenGapps did not work because of the system partition size, I had to use MindTheGapps. Flashing Magisk was no problem but I don't like the Recovery from Lineage, so I flashed twrp after install.
this one is good too.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/development/rom-pixel-dust-sailfish-t3585007/page149
I just want to point out that the Pixel I got (new) would NOT stop freezing and stuttering no matter what stock/ custom rom I flashed, and the only sure-fire thing that fixed it was ROOTING and setting the GPU-Min-Frequency -on boot- to ONE step higher than standard [ 214Mhz instead of 133Mhz].
Hope that helps somebody.
I ended up with EX Kernel manager app that fixes my phone 5 seconds after reboot.

Same here, looking for the ROM that is suitable of the obsolete hardware.
Tried Evolution and Dust ROM, I like dust ROM more. However, since none of the custom ROM can be used with bank and payment apps, I switched back to the official ROM.
Android 9.0 update February 2019 seems to be the snappiest firmware I've used. After the update, I switched auto update off in the developer option (need to unlocked/relocked bootloader to downgrade).
Cheers.

Banking apps and GPay definitely work with custom ROMs as long as you're running a custom kernel.
