Can we go back to android one stock rom after trying MIUI ? Is there any problem going from A/B partition to A only and back? Any major bugs in MIUI ? Thank you very much for your response and guide.

Thank you for the instructions.
Please tell me how to go to edl mode and also in the step no 13 after unzip and deleting the "firmware update" do i need to repack it? And how will I install via twrp? As an img or a zip file?
And also which are the bugs? Is it as smooth as the other xiaomi devices?
Again thank you for your efforts.

Of course man, check first post OP mentioned me at the end. Battery life didn't improve, it's same as on Stock. I get 5-6h SOT with some tweaks other people here on xda are also using. To reboot simply type "fastboot reboot edl" when in fastboot mode.

someone could do an AnTuTu benchmark with this ROM, please.

Is the camera working fine?
What's the procedure to get back to Android One?
Can u guys please post a guide on how to go back to stock?

I'd also like to know how to get back to stock if I end up flashing miui.

The camera works with GCam but with the stock MIUI, when you take a picture, it crashes instantly. Overall, great performance! I was able to install AOSP Extended Custom ROM as well for Mi 6X on my Mi A2 by just downloading the zip file for wayne + Gapps and flashed them through TWRP. All of this is possible because the device got converted to wayne (Mi 6x) with the partition layout. So any custom ROM made for Mi 6x is compatible.
Edit: Custom ROM from mi-globe.com works even the camera! So I think it's a bug in the stock ROM, idk.

is unlocked bootloader and edl access denied after convert ?

Bootloader needs to be unlocked before the convert. Bootloader stays unlocked after, so no problem with that. EDL access it's still granted. If you want to relock bootloader, you need to convert the phone back to jasmine (Mi A2), otherwise you will brick it.

[HOWTO] Flash TWRP and Flash CM+GApps [Meizu M2 Note]

Hi to everybody
I'm doing this thread because I've seen that there's a lot of confussion about how to install all this things properly, and I think that concentrating the wide-spread information could help you to get rid of this. First of all I have to thanks @aaawqw and @Moyster for their great efforts.
This is going to be a recopilatory of several sources and personal tips to help you to do this the easiest way. I'm not responsible of bricked phones nor your personal problems.
Please, read the full tutorial before doing anything, to avoid bricks and those things.
PREPARE THE RECIPE
Download these files:
- Unlocking bootloader tool: HERE
- TWRP image from Moyster (creator of LOS14 for our device): here
- If you want to install a modified version of FlymeOS, use this one from Romul35 from 4PDA: here. Original post
- Last LineageOS 14 build: from this thread. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO THANK THE DEVELOPERS
- GApps: here I recommend the nano option. Choose ARM64 and Android version 6.0.
Put those three last files into your internal memory. If you've got an microSD card, I recommend you to put them into it (it's safer and easier).
UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
To unlock the bootloader go to:
- Kevin.MX @aaawqw) post: here
Finally we have a guide to unlock the bootloader of Meizu m2 note. We need Mediatek SP Flash Tool, MTK phone drivers and the images/bin files for unlocking. No modaco superboot, no fake tutorials any more
Now here's the guide:
1. Download the files I provide
Then unzip it. You'll get a folder with FlashTool, Phone drivers and unlock images.
2.Install drivers for Mediatek platform.
3.Flash the temp-unlock-secro.img via Flashtool. (secro row)
4.Flash secro.img, lk.bin, preloader_meizu6753_65c_l1.bin via Flashtool. (secro, lk and preloader rows respectively)
5.Disconnect USB data cable and power on the phone. If you see the "=>Normal boot" sign(it's quite small.......) in the left bottom cornor of the screen, then the unlock is done. You can now flash things in whatever way you like. The guide is over~~~
The full tutorial is here
The unlock tool is here
Thank you for testing&trying!
If you've seen this spoiler and didn't thank Kevin, please go to here and thank him. This motivates him and gives him the recognisement he deserves.
- Robot Hijau 97 Youtube video: here It isn't in English, but may help if you find any problem or get lost during the unlocking. Leave him a like if it helped you.
This unlocking guide only works for M571 model. If you try this with a M571C (China Telecom) model, you'll get a bricked phone (very useful if you like paperweights )
THIS METHOD DOES WORK FOR M571H MODEL. DON'T WORRY, THE ONLY ONE THAT GIVES SOME ISSUES IS THE M571C.
The great user @aaawqw states "And Meizu M571C should use the same method of meizu m2 (mini), a shell script for frp unlock. But no recovery images yet…Different hardware and partitions"
Tips to unlock the bootloader easily:
- If you're going to do it from a Windows 10 or 8 pc, have in mind that to install unsigned drivers you'll have to unlock the feature in your pc. A guide to do this: here
- Select the images to flash and hit the Download button before connecting your Meizu (pressing Vol Down button). This will help you if it turns on and off and makes the flashing impossible.
- Download the guide or see the video to correctly follow all the steps. You don't want to lose your phone, don't you? Don't try to mix guides, because you may skip a step and brick your phone. The video and Kevin.MX guide are the same procedure, they both are safe.
INSTALLING TWRP
Once done this part, we'll proceed with the installation of TWRP recovery image. There are two ways, choose the easier to you:
- Flash TWRP from SP Flashtool (original idea from @widagdag. The post: here)
+Turn off your device
+ By using your pc or laptop, extract the TWRP zip for meizu m2 note, there's a file "recovery.img"
+ You can flash it via SP flash tool (clicking the recovery, then select the file)... then click Download, wait until finished!! (Check symbol)
+ You can reboot ur device now, unlocked bootloader and installed twrp!
*The profit is u didn't need to root first and install any flash tool such as Rash, FlashFire, Flashify, etc. saving you some time
Click to collapse
- Flash the recovery image from Flyme:
+ Get root access (if you do, skip this step). You can get it downloading Kingroot: here. Just install this apk and follow the steps
+ Unzip TWRP zip into a known folder
+ Download Flashify from the Playstore
+ Grant superuser access
+ (Optional) make a backup of your current recovery going to backup tab
+ Tap Recovery Image
+ Choose a file
+ Find TWRP img that you unzipped before and flash it

INSTALLING CM AND GAPPS
We're close to the end of this post. The final step: installing your desired ROM and GApps. I will flash CM from the thread whose link is at the download section.
I hope you've put it into your memory (internal/external) as we said
Ok so:
- Turn off your phone
- Go into the TWRP recovery (Vol up+power)
- (Optional but recommended) Make a backup of Flyme, just in case you don't like the new ROM and would like to go back to Flyme. If it takes up too much memory, move it to your pc after making the backup.
- Go to Wipe menu
- Go to advanced wipe
- Select these:
+ System
+ Cache
+ Dalvik Cache
+ Data
- Swipe to do the wipe
- Go to install.
- Select your zip image (in my case the cm13 I downloaded).
- Install also the GApps zip file you downloaded
- Restart to System, and check what you've done.
Some final tips:
- Make the backup, seriously, it takes 10 min and you'll have a Flyme backup if you don't like CM.
- If you want to transfer all your apps and their data from Flyme to your new ROM, use Titanium Backup.
- If you want to install Xposed Framework, it's the same procedure: enter into TWRP, tap install, select the zip and swipe.
- This won't delete your images or videos, but I would recommend to transfer them to a microSD card or your PC.
- Yes, you need to do all this to install a custom ROM. Yes, even unlocking the bootloader. Don't try to skip a step if you aren't sure about what you're doing.
I think that's all, I'll update this post if I lost anything.
I hope this helped you to move into CM world. If you have any doubt don't hesitate to ask.
I know this seems exhausting, but trust me, it worths it. Welcome to the custom ROMs world in your Meizu M2 Note. Let the magic begin.
ADDITIONAL GUIDES
RELOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
If you want to relock the bootloader just follow this simple steps:
Flash the original recovery image from Flashtool of from Flashify (the steps are the same as installing TWRP). You can find this image here
From there, install an update.zip (download them from the official flyme web: here and put it into the storage )
Now you have flyme again with a locked bootloader.
INSTALLING FLYME WITH TWRP
It's very important that you don't install an update.zip from the original Flyme page, because you will cause a bootloop. To get the flyme updates, you can follow one of these two methods:
METHOD 1: 4PDA
-Download the modified zips from 4PDA: here]. Translate it to English. It's on custom firmware>Flyme
-Flash them from TWRP
METHOD 2: DO IT YOURSELF
-Download the update.zip file from the Flyme page
-Open it and remove the preloader- files
-Flash it from TWRP. It will give you an error: IGNORE IT.
Reboot and done, you've got Flyme and TWRP.
UNBRICK A PAPERWEIGHT
BIG THANKS TO @numpea FOR THIS:
This just a firmware that has all the partitions and can be used to unbrick to device using SPFlashtool
Here is the link:
FIRMWARE
- Flash temp_unlock_secro.img with sp flashtool like you do when unlocking the bootloader.
- When done, disconnect the device and add the firmware to sp flashtool. You need to select "format all+download", click on "Download" and connect the device. The flashing process will start. After it finishes, the device will start again.
You wil notice that you lost your imei number you can add it back by:
Using MTK Engineering Mode (does not requires root)
Open engineering mode » Click on Engineer Mode (MTK) » Swipe left to Connectivity » click on CDS Information » Radio Information
Click on phone 1 if you want to change your sim 1 or choose Phone 2 to change sim 2 IMEI, follow this guide:
For Phone 1: “AT+ EGMR=1,7,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR)
For Phone 2: “AT+ EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR)
Using Chamelephon (requires root, but much more easier)
Just copy the IMEIS from the phone's box and put them into the app.
hope this is helpful

Great work lol
Another thing is…ShevT's recovery has no problem in cache partition.Only my broken recovery did… So remove the cache fixing partAny problem just send me a private message. I'll check when i have time.
---------- Post added at 04:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:58 PM ----------
And Meizu M571C should use the same method of meizu m2 (mini), a shell script for frp unlock. But no recovery images yet…Different hardware and partitions…
Another thing is, Kingroot is not suggested. It cannot be detected by Flashfire and some other tools. And cannot be replaced by SuperSU. So Kingo Root+SuperSU might be better.

Downgrade

Hey guys,
I installed MIUI 8.2.5.0. But I want to roll back to 8.1.. How likely am I to brick my phone without performing all data wipe? My BL is locked and since the PC suite is not working I can't get to recovery without unlocking the device and I don't want to do that.
Use Mi flash tool. Download the fastboot ROM of your device and the version you want to roll back. Install all the device drivers. In flash tool, select all except storage of the tool detects your device, flash it.
So flashing it from Updater in settings using a zip file is not a good idea?
Thanks for your help anyway.
1. Backup your data
2. Download the miui 8.1.1.0 from here - http://bigota.d.miui.com/V8.1.1.0.MALMIDI/miui_HM3SGlobal_V8.1.1.0.MALMIDI_874f56cdc1_6.0.zip
3. Flash it via updater app.
4. Factory reset your phone.
5. Enjoy
I used the same method and I'm very happy with miui 8.1.1.0
Thanks, that's all I wanted to hear. Running 8.1. again and it didn't even brick my phone ?

1) What do you mean by "Flash it via updater app"?
[When I try the "Updater" App, in the menu I choose "Choose updater package", choose the ROM from your link, click "OK" then I get "Can't verify update - Sorry, flash older version is not allowed" after maybe a minute]
2) do you have a link for the last ROM before 8.5.3.0?
Best Regards
Here is indonesian forum. But you can download older rom from it. Scroll until you see this section

[COMPLETE GUIDE] ROOTING Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X MTK aka Nikel

HOW TO ROOT YOUR XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 4X MTK aka NIKEL
DISCLAIMER:
There might be more than 1 way to root this phone, this tutorial is based off of the procedure I used to root my phone. For your device's safety do not mix resources (downloads) from other threads with this thread. I first rooted when my phone was on MIUI 8.2 and Android 6.0.1 (It still works on higher versions of the software). Before continuing with the procedure, you are responsible for your phone and what you do to it, this thread worked for me but doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you as well if you don't follow the steps correctly or use different files. Nonetheless, I take no responsibility for what happens to your phone if anything goes wrong.
Requirements:Unlocked Bootloader (Click here for the procedure)
Custom Recovery "TWRP" (Click here to download)
ABD Drivers (Click here to download)
SuperSU (Click here to download)
(Download the latest .zip file called "Recovery Flashable" NOT any APK's)
Procedure:
1) Unlock your Bootloader (skip if already unlocked)
2) Download all the required files
3) Install the ADB Drivers
4) Move the downloaded SuperSU zip file to your phone's SD CARD or internal memory
5) Open the .bat file inside the NIKEL FLASHKIT folder
- Οnce the batch opens select the first option (FLASH ZCX-TWRP 3.0.2-X FOR Redmi Note 4 MTK)
6) Enable USB Debugging
- Enable developer options by clicking couple of times on the MIUI Version (Settings > About Phone)
- After you've enabled the developer options, go to additional settings and find "developer options"
- Enable USB Debugging
7) Connect your phone to your PC
8) Follow the instructions being printed on the NIKEL FLASHKIT batch file you've previously opened
9) After your phone has entered TWRP go to Install and find the .zip of SuperSU
10) Select the file then swipe to install and reboot, DONE!

Flash the custom recovery (*.img) through fastboot command. For RN4 MTK there's limited custom recovery available, but you may consider trying Cofface TWRP or ZCX TWRP. After that you can install SuperSU or Magisk from custom recovery. There are plenty tutorials of flashing custom recovery and rooting device using TWRP in RN4 MTK device, search this forum or Google.

Thanks for your reply, I've searched for video tutorials regarding flashing etc. All the videos I've found are about RN4 and NOT RN4X (which I own), does that make any difference?

Doesn't matter sir, Xiaomi released 4/64GB MTK variant as wells, I assume you've the same.
Get TWRP for MTK variant of Redmi-note-4 and flash it. Nothing to worry.

Yes, sometimes it works with the first try, other times you have to manually enter fast boot, and other you may need to reconnect your USB while in the process. It can be tricky at some point but it eventually works out
i tried few times and it is just not working for me. i dunno what n how... i unlocked bootloader from mi site. and nothing i try seems to work for me.

[GUIDE] Enable Camera2 API Without Root [mido] [Unlocked Bootloader] [MIUI 9]

DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device on following these steps. These are untested steps that worked for me and might work for you.
PREREQUISITES
1. PC with adb
2. Unlocked Bootloader
3. TWRP
4. MIUI 9 [Might work with other ROMs, not tested]
5. Lazyflasher zip
NOTES
1. If you are on a custom ROM, chances are that camera2 api is already enabled. Use Manual Camera Compatibility to verify.
2. If you are on MIUI, updating using ota might reset build.prop file. This might help, not tested. Update: I successfully updated to MIUI 9 Global 7.10.19 | Beta, see below for steps,
3. I am using Google Camera v4.4.020.163412804 on MIUI 9 Global 7.9.7 | Beta, and it is a HUGE improvement over the stock camera.
STEPS
1. Boot into TWRP. (Guide if you don't have TWRP)
2. Mount System.
3. Take NANDroid backup. (Optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
4. Connect to PC and execute the following command in terminal:
Code:
[SIZE="3"]adb pull /system/build.prop[/SIZE]
5. This copies build.prop to the current directory. (C:\Users\[USERNAME] by default on windows)
6. Copy it to another directory for backup.
7. Open in editor and add the following line at end:
Code:
[SIZE="3"]persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1[/SIZE]
8. Save and exit.
9. Execute following commands:
Code:
[SIZE="3"]adb push build.prop /system/
adb shell
cd system
chmod 644 build.prop
[/SIZE]
10. Copy lazyflasher to internal storage.
11. Flash using TWRP.
12. Reboot to system.
13. Use Manual Camera Compatibility Checker to verify.
14. PROFIT!
15. Install the latest Google Camera HDR+ Port. (Optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ;P)
UPDATING MIUI
1. Download the official recovery zip from here.
2. Download latest TWRP from here
2. Reboot into TWRP.
3. Take NANDroid. (Optional, just in case . . .)
4. Transfer ROM zip, TWRP img and Lazyflasher zip to internal storage.
5. Flash ROM zip. (Took about 10 minutes)
6. Flash TWRP img. (Go to flash -> select flash image -> select twrp-[v].img)
7. Flash Lazyflasher zip.
8. Follow steps 4 through 9 of above instructions. (Yes, build.prop also gets replaced on update)
9. Reboot to system.
10. Wait patiently.
11. VOILA !!

TWRP Tweaks (MIUI 9 Beta)
The method in this thread basically allows you to edit build.prop without rooting, which opens up a lot of possibilities. Here are some other useful tweaks to build.prop that I use.
(Note: If a line is already present in the file, edit the line otherwise add at end.)
1. Enable MIUI's full screen gestures
Code:
[SIZE="3"]
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
[/SIZE]
2. Add EIS and disable noise cancellation
Code:
[SIZE="3"]
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluencepro
[/SIZE]
3. Turn off noise cancellation for audio recordings
Code:
[SIZE="3"]
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=false
[/SIZE]
4. Fix Google Assistant talkback
Code:
[SIZE="3"]
mm.enable.qcom_parser=245389
[/SIZE]

is it possible to make the flash-able zip work with stock recovery?
What does the lazyflasher zip actually do? A quick search on google shows a custom kernel installer.

I am not sure if it is safe to flash zips from stock recovery. Even if you could, you would not be able to take NANDroid, so you are doomed if things go south. Still, if you want, you could try and then we'll know

The source of the lazyflasher zip (2 in sources) says:
This device uses dm-verity
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

When I was trying the adb method, I was getting a bootloop, because (I think) the system partition had been modified (new build.prop replaced old one). Flashing this zip solved this, so I guess it essentially allows modifications to the system partition.

They should be, as I used them with stock MIUI, stock kernel. However, are you going to flash a zip on locked bootloader? Is that even possible? Why would modifications to the system partition be allowed with locked bootloader? What would be the point of locking if that is the case?

I assumed that if OTA updates can be flashed through bootloader then by that logic /system could be modified too, right? hmmm
In Android devices, Recovery is an Android-based, lightweight runtime environment separate from and parallel to the main Android operating system. Recovery's original purpose was:
to apply software updates to the device, e.g. OTA updates, and
to erase user data and cache, e.g. for troubleshooting or preparing the device for resale (factory reset) and
to run (another) external tool from microSD flash memory

Unfortunately I don't have access to a stock mido right now, and I don't want to lock my bootloader.
If you're willing to risk it, you could try these steps:
1. Go to developer settings and enable adb.
2. Follow steps 4 to 9 of main post (with device switched on)
3. Reboot.
You might get a bootloop on rebooting, in which case you'd have to get into stock recovery and factory reset, because afaik, stock recovery doesn't give you adb.
Do tell what happens if you try this, good luck!
When I replace the build.prop the phone goes bootloop. It does not matter I use adb or root explorer or something... Why is that? BTW only this method worked: I used an app called build prop editor and worked like a charm! Thank you. If you did not tell that it was possible to enable camera 2 api on miui 9, all my hopes would be lost. So I suggest everyone to use another methods in case this does not work.

Can someone tell me what is this?it was set to no hdr+ on default.im on miui 9 global beta 7.12.8
In the end of the TWRP guide it says to flash lazyflasher.zip . In the end of this guide it also says you have to install lazyflasher.zip .
Do you have to install it both times or is once enough ? What would happen if you follow both guides to the letter and install it twice ?

No, once should be enough, but flashing twice won't cause any trouble either.

I tried to mount and install MAGISK via USB-OTG mounting and i get permission denied for system and vendor (and also Data unable to mount)
EDIT2: Oh cool... despite the errors Magisk got installed! Nice!

Let us hope so.
I would like to apologize in advance as I am a noob when it comes to the recent changes made by Google to android. So on a lot of the recent devices launched with android 10, an essential step before flashing Magisk is to disable the vbmeta partition by flashing the "vbmeta.img" using a fastboot command with the --disable-verify and --disable-verification argument. My question is that is the "vbmeta.img" modified by developers or is this the same identical file found in the stock firmware files?
I do apologize if this is the wrong thread but there's not many resources online or even on xda for this device.
Why its in mi note 10 general section? Isnt right to do separately section for mi note 10 lite since there is nothing in common just name.

Nowadays you have to unmount Data and mount vendor (just in case for Vendor) before flashing Magisk. Mounting data does not let Magisk install via TWRP. Follow the this process, same install process with the Mi Note 10, and assuming the Mi note 10 Lite. The reason why is because of encryption.
Update: 5/16/2020
1) Flash lastest TWRP unofficial 3.31-4 mauronofrio using Command prompt using the - fastboot flash recovery [XXXX].img. Note: it's easier to just rename the recover image to "twrp"
2) Then - fastboot boot [XXXX].img to reboot into TWRP recovery.
3) In my experience for thr Mi Note 10 that is, the reboot to RECOVERY did not happened, so instead i pressed - volume up and power button at the same time for thr phone to reboot until you see the boot splash screen, hold the two buttons for another 3 seconds ... and then let go of power button and then TWRP recovery will show up.
4) Ok...so first things first... flash the VBMETA PATCHER like the OP says on first page --> that way you don't lose TWRP after flashing the Rom and MAGISK. After install, reboot to RECOVERY. ***This is only if OP asks to flash VBMETA PATCHER, otherwise skip to Step 5***
5) Now....go to FORMAT DATA (Warning: DON'T use advanced wipe)... Instead, go to the FORMAT DATA, type in yes and press ok. Then go back to main menu, and reboot to RECOVERY again.
6) Now you can access your internel memory when connecting to USB... You can import the two neccesary files --> Xiaomi.EU and MAGISK 20.4. Now Flash the Rom and when flash MAGISK, make sure you unmount DATA and mount VENDOR to avoid flash error. After unticking DATA, you can now install Magisk.
7) Now you can go to REBOOT, and press SYSTEM, and the phone will boot to Xiaomi EU 11 or 12, etc. just follow this process and enjoy your ROM. ?
Note: When updating, flash EU rom and Magisk, dont forget to unmount Data when flashing Magisk. You can probably disable decryption because that is why you can't mount Data when flashing Magisk. **Just don't ask me about it because I normally don't flash Disable Decyption often.

The root and flash process is basically the same process as the Mi 9T/K20, Mi Max 3, Mi Note 10 since decryption is now a common thing with Android 10... except for the VBmeta.zip, which is new and necessary to flash, as long as you follow the directions..you'll be fine.

Same here, i was on the Mi 9T before, I didnt understood the whole new flashing process and carefully updating from EU Rom to AOSP Roms and back, I think i was messing with with thwe wipe and change partition feature (f2fs to ext 4 with an EU Rom) - then the Mi 9T bricked big time. Never recovered after that, luckily got it refunded for it but not many may have that second chance. After learning how to flash propeely and root, ect. I try to help out here when needed and ask too. I just got my Mi Note 10 2 weeks ago and rooted a week ago. So if anything, am willing to help out and repeat the following flash process or any changes in the future and feedback on future Roms.
Was thinking about which rom to use... does xiaomi.eu is stille faster with providing updates? what about the situation with OTA with that.
Now I have the phone with global rom, I want at least flash the EEA rom. But I also know that at some point i want to root, install magisk and get nice features. Still don't want to update manually everytime for an update...
will be watching this thread with much interest..
I recently bought this device (Global version) for use here in Australia.
my first time owning a Xiaomi - quite happy with it so far.
would be nice to have the themeing stuff work properly - I have used MIUI based ROMs back a LOoonggg time ago, in the days of the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus etc.
used to have a new ROM flashed every couple of days lol, back then. But recent years I've stopped all that, no cool ROMs no snazzy kernels TWRP no nothing not even root lol, very boring!
anyway thanks for posting I hope to try this sometime soon

I'm not sure if you mean the official ROM or xiaomi.eu.
The link to the official EEA(EU) ROM:

I have yesterday seen a xiaomi.eu Stable build for toco which is based on Global Stable ROM:

I can not promise that it's working.
