Screen become oversaturated ,like a sketch filter on mild heating - Nokia 5 Questions & Answers

I am encountering an issue related to my Nokia 5 screen
When phone becomes little heated while using in surrounding then screen color , saturation ,contrast changes
Screen become oversaturated ,everything become so ghost like and after 2-3 sec it become normal
Again after 10 sec it become oversaturated or overcontrasted
I don't know what is this appending with my phone ,everything starts looking so whitish please help

Stop playing heavy duty games....not only does the heat affect your screen, but had long term issues on the innards (glue, plastic connectors & micro-soldered points), but also reduces battery life....If you still want to game, buy a higher end phone....N5 is not meant for it.

I don't play any game on it
This problem occurs when direct sunlight is falling on it (even in morning mild sunlight)

Display color calibration...

I've owned my HD2 for about 8 months and have been noticed a slow degradation in the display, everything is turning yellow. Its a common problem on LCDs that usually the BLUE drive is the one to loose strength but I am surprised that its happening so fast on my phone.
Also, Ive noticed that the warmer the phone gets (for example when im watching a movie) the yellower the display gets.. when its cold, not so bad...
Is there a way, tweak or software to calibrate the colors on the HD2/ Windows Mobile just like on a PC? My HD2 its becoming unbearable to look at, all yellow and I don't seem to find an app or solution to calibrate and adjust the display colors!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Looks like a defect in the screen, contact your HTC repair for fixing this problem, i know people using this phone and have no problems so quickly

Color and heating issues

Ok, so I've read about some folks with yellow and blue tinting to their screens. My phone doesn't seem to have that, but it has some pretty funky colors compared to the original Samsung Galaxy, which I also have. The colours are just too deep/dark in a way that looks unnatural (especially for nature-themed wallpapers). I can't increase the screen brightness as I don't like overly bright screens, neither does adjusting the background color help.
Secondly, my phone overheats very fast, with the heat being at the top of the phone. I read about a particular batch of phones having that issue, and while my phone doesn't belong to that batch, the last batch number is just two digits away. Last night it got so hot that I had problems holding the phone.
Now my question is, are there any firmwares that can fix these issues? Are there any issues with flashing firmwares that are not for my region? I'm tempted to go to the service centre but am afraid that the replacement unit will be worse.

Wow, you've run a lot of issues together.
1) Color temperature
It's very different between the SGS1 and SGS2 so exchanging the phone isn't going to do anything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124669
2) Banding (yellow tint)
Appears to be a design issue as it's been on all phones to date. It can be reproduced on grey backgrounds with the display at a low setting in a dark room and by taking a pic of the phone. Most don't see it or it doesn't bother them in everyday use. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079444
3) Blue tint
Some displays appear to have a QC issue with blue tremdously over emphasized. If you have one, exchange it. Or it could be appearing blue when looked at from odd angles due to the oleophobic coating on the screen. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127649
4) Overheating
Happens in intense games, when certain apps run the proc at 100% (accidentally or on purpose), or due to a defect. Lots of threads on this so search.
What to do after taking all of this in is up to you.

You need to be consistent on what you post, the context differs on your other post.

1) The left side banding which appears along with a yellow tint either under certain conditions or, to some, in everyday use. This would seem to be a design issue as, to date, it shows up on every single phone produced.

Out of the many phones I've seen and tested, none of them required any special circumstances to reproduce the effect, simply by just opening up the virtualkeyboard or just by using the phone regularly they show up, at varied degrees per phone. I've yet to come across one that requires special conditions but I've seen a few with extremely faint tint that it does not eve bother me.
@OP
The heating issues seem to be different from phone to phone, My first one didnt even warm up while charging but warms up on all other things the 2nd one I have now seems to be noticeably running warmer on everything even on charging.
Thanks for the replies. I don't seem to notice blue or yellow tinting for now, but just over saturation of semmingly all colours, and also banding of colour gradients. The phone gets hot with gaming, though I don't consider the games super intense. Will search the threads.
Guess I'll have to observe the phone for a few more days or weeks before deciding what to do next. Wished I had done more research before getting the phone!

[DISCUSSION] LG G3 screen

This topic is made so it can help people if they are considering buying this phone because one of it key features which is the screen. So I think it would be great if you could write your opinions and experiences about screen.
I will also express my opinion. No raging allowed, every opinion is equally important and we all have different taste and likes.
Before sharing my opinion, I have to say that reason for me buying wasn't screen at all. What is much more important to me is software functionality, battery life, ergonomics and screen size. I haven't even seen QHD video before I bought and brought this baby home. But when I saw that QHD LG preload video, I just got stunned as every person that gets to see the video on my phone.
In mine opinion the screen is relatively good. It's very sharp without a doubt, everything looks eXtra crisp, much better than any 1080p screen definitely. The colours are bit pale comparing to any other AMOLED screen, but I mostly fixed that issue by manually adjusting colour in Accessibility. I used to have Galaxy S, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S3, so my eye was "trained by Samsung" for that extreme saturation, strong colours and DEEEP black. Only thing I miss about that AMOLED screen is the black colour, other colours were far too attacking for me, they were like overreacting girlfriend complaining for every minor thing that aren't that important (that's how I see it in my head). On G3 screen and other LCD's probably I prefer more accurate, real world colours. Brightness isn't an issue for me, even though I think that brightness could still go a bit higher than it is right now. I live in Croatia where the days are very sunny and sun is strong and I never had to go over 70% brightness outdoors. Screen on time on "internet warrior" and "antenna overload" days get me to only 4 hours, but on average day I get 5:30h of screen on time. (I'm not heavy user anymore, I always try to save my battery and turn off all antennas and apps that I don't use, also I adjust my brightness manually which varies from 60% in bright enviroment to 20% in dark enviroment). I would say screen on time on single charge is pretty average for flagship phone.
What are you opinions?

Amoled Issue

Guys, open this video in full-screen in an absolutely dark place, like an enclosed room, and with the brightness of the screen at most. Does your screen have a lighter part at the top? Mine looked as if the screen had turned off at the bottom and with a few spots of light on the top. I do not know if it is due to the processor heat that is in the area.

Sorry for my bad english
No, mine looks evenly black. On another note, I was sort of expecting the Rick roll.
Call and see if they'll exchange it maybe? I replaced 2 or 3 of my old Nexus 5's for severe screen artifacts with no issues. Never had a problem with the 6P, though.
Edit: Wait, with AMOLED, when true black is displayed (hex=000000) it doesn't even turn the pixel on at all. You shouldn't see anything at all if it's displaying true black since the pixels shouldn't even be on..
I did the test with the cold cell phone and the screen went completely black. As I live in Brazil and the weather here is hot, the processor sometimes reaches up to 60 degrees or more. The times I saw these minor changes was when the phone was warm and well in the region where the SOC is. The difference in temperature of the lower and upper region of the screen is gigantic. But in normal use it is impossible to see this variation. It is only possible to see with the cell phone very hot and with all the lights out of the environment, and cellphone with the maximum brightness.

Visible marks on the screen

I am a heavy mobile game user. I have an issue wherein there are visible marks left on my screen after completely logging out of my game. It seems like the pixels are burnt due to the games high graphics. I usually play 4-6 hours leaving it on autoplay mode. Please let me know if anyone encountered similar issues. Thanks!

Are they permanent can you show a picture?

Its called burn in damage or ghosting. Ghosting and burn in damage are caused by prolonged static projection of the same image or a series of similar images(gaming) on any screen. Tough part about amoled burn in is once you got it it wont go away, cause amoled is organic and when it burns it really does burn and theres no way on reverting it.

I am not heavy user, so my phone doesn't have anything, but it is normal for Amoled screen to burn in unlike LCD. Whenever the static image stays on the screen for prolonged time, it may leave ghosting on the screen. Usually this happens to phone that were on display in the store or showing same image over and over.
There are a few factors where you can avoid EXTREME burn in damage. Dont let the cell phone to ovberheat , dont let it on full brightness and by all means dont let it under the sun while playing. From my experience HEAT is the most important issue for the cause.
