Flashing Firmware on the SM-T580...BRF1 - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

I can no longer get into the tablet, and I have a question about flashing this firmware.
In the .zip download, there are 4 .tar.md5 files. There are the usual AP and BL files, but then there are TWO CSC files. One is called CSC and the other is called Home CSCS. The only difference seems to be the name, they are even both the same size.
I should use the CSC, wwithout the HOME?
Now, the updato link: https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
tells me to only use the AP file in Odin... is that correct, or do I use all three files?
Thank You.-

I only used the AP file, and everything seems to work fine. Although the Home Page looks different now, a few of the apps are missing. (none that I want)
Even if seems to boot properly, should I still flash that one too?

Stock Odin Flash Issue

Hey guys I am having an issue currently.
I am like 100% knowlegdable with Odin, and how to return a phone back to complete stock, but right now I am at a slump, and for the life of me can't figure out what the issue is.
Last night I went to flash via odin, and I made sure I have the correct files. In fact they were correct because I used them before. I for the pit file and put that in, and then I went to put the tar file into the ap slot, and it didnt show in the folder at all. I went back to the folder and it was there, but the phone for some reason odin doesnt reconize it anymore.
** Another question is I also have another laptop that I use ubuntu on. Can Odin be used on this to do a flash stock or not? Or is there another method? I just want to make sure that when it comes time to sell the phone that I can flash it back for the next person.
I just flashed last night with Odin and one thing I noticed was that the files usually have an extra .md5 or .zip at the end . Once I renamed file and just deleted the .zip and .md5 Odin then recognized the file. I am not sure if that could be the problem , but it was in my case. So my file ended in .tar

just tar and nothing else?
Well it was named n900vvrucn4.tar.zip.md5 or similar and I deleted the extra file extensions so it was just .tar at the end.

i need to check that because the one I downloaded looks like this:
n900wrunc4.n900wrunc4.n900wrunc4.tar.zip.md5
That's the same one I used . I just deleted the .zip, and .md5 and it flashed just fine. Mine was 2.34 g from grompy on android file host.

Well, initially before I deleted both extensions it wasn't recognized and then I just deleted the .md5 and it wouldn't flash . Finally, deleting the other extension it flashed.

Double menus in settings

Hy,
I have flash official nougat uk.
But i have double menus in settings, like double applications and double device manager.
I have heard that if you flash other csc it be ok.
Can someone explain wich csc , and where to find it?
Thanks
How exactly did you flash the UK Nougat files? Which files did you use?
using HOME_CSC has probably messed it up. Reflash using CSC (wipes all data)

Huh, that's unexpected. Just to be clear, you did flash the CSC, right? Just not the HOME_CSC?

Sorry, I have no idea then I've seen that problem with some users who decided to mix files from different Android verisons, but as you've flashed a "complete" ROM, that obviously isn't the culprit here.
Apologies, I thought you meant that you had flashed HOME_CSC.
Can you provide some screenshots to show what's happening?
Here is a screenshot.

Same problem here! But i only flashed as it says on sammobile, add the firmware to AP/PDA, and same here, almost everything in the settings is duplicated
I have the same issue, any fix? I however didn't flash csc at all.

i've got the same problem, very frustrating, plus the keyboard didn't work very well
I had the double menu problem when i flashed superman rom, I dirty flashed over and it fixed it. Starting over with the correct CSC file should fix the issue.
I also had the keyboard problem when i flashed stock using odin. Re-flashing solved it as well, making sure I didnt use the HOME_CSC file. just use the normal CSC.
did you try clean both cache after flash to remove any stray bits of data left over after flashing ?
i finally did it guys! the problem is that i've only used the AP file while the S7 firmware unzips to 5 files ahd you have to install 4 of them.
Hey man I have a question, I have the same problem with double menus, but I just installed the lastest firmware update but just the flashed the PDA, to solve this problem do i have to flash again the 5 files including the PDA or just the the other 4 files since I already flashed the PDA?

Just flash HOME_CSC, reboot right into TWRP recovery and flash sec_csc.zip under /cache/recovery and it'll get fixed.

Wich firmeware select to flash s7 edge from 935V to 935U

I read that I can install the firmeware of sm-935U in my sm-935V, but when i enter in sammobile page ,there is a huge list of 935U firmeware, wich of those do i have to select to work fine in my phone
If you look at the numbers they are all the same.
Just be sure to flash the CSC fine and not the Home_CSC one when changing the firmware. Remove all the google users first too. All your apps will be deleted.

How do I know whic CSC im downloading , cause there is only 2 options, PDA and CSS, and the other doubt I have, wich version of odin is usefull to install the rom?
It's just one zip file. Get the latest one (from 04/2019)... like this one for PDA G935UUES9CSC2 and CSC G935UOYM9CSC2:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935U/VZW/download/G935UUES9CSC2/265864/
Extract before using Odin.

I did a similar flash but didn't remove google users. The factory reset protection messages appeared, I entered credentials, and things started reloading. What else did the factory reset protection do that I don't what it to do?

Through ODIN as i want to get rid of TWRP
Go to sammobile.com/firmwares/archive
Register with your email and seach for your model number and select your country, then download the zip with 5 files: AP, BL, CSC, HOME CSC and CP.
Open odin and put the files in the specific box (in CSC I use Home CSC file).
Boot your device in Download Mode (POWER+VOL DOWN+BIXBY)
Connect to your Pc and press Star
Wait until Odin shows PASS, the device take more time to boot.
I suggest to fully charge the phone before flashing the firmware

The website gives the download for the best version of odin, usually is v. 3.13.3

That happened to me aswell. Just do it overnight. It will probably take the same amount of time for someone to upload it to google drive etc.

Unable to flash back BST rom after flashing ATT rom

I have a Boost 205U. I managed to flash an ATT rom using the patched ODIN. But I need to flash the Boost rom again so that I can request a sim unlock. The flash goes successfully (BL, AP, CSC, Home) but I still see it sticks to ATT (shows the ATT logo, csc is att). I verified that the rom I'm flashing is a BST
What could be causing this issue?

3. Flash each part of the firmware into its slot.
BL_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the BL slot
AP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the AP slot
CP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CP slot
CSC_xxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CSC slot

I did that. Matched each of the files correctly. But I keep seeing ATT. I've also tried downloading other versions of the Boost firmware but the CSC still shows up as ATT. Something is off!

I'm aware! I flashed the same baseband (and even went higher since) to no avail.
I found the solution.
Make sure to use the right SIM before flashing. It picks up the carrier info from the SIM.
If you need it to show BST, flash an non-carrier (that comes with unlocked phones) ROM, type in *#272*IMEI, select the carrier you want to change to and voila!
Newer versions of phones have small packages that change depending on the sim inserted.
Learned that the wild way with a galaxy 9 plus
Just wanted to know if you had any issues with network not working with sims on the phone ?
