Need to flash stock rom without recovery - LG Spirit Questions & Answers

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I have a LG Spirit H440n with Android 6.0 without root access.
And I have no recovery on it. If I try to open it, it displays a dead android.
I am not able to flash a stock rom with the LG Flash Tool anymore. I assume it is because of the missing recovery.
As far as I know there is no solution to get root access with Android 6.0.
But do you have any suggestions, how I can get root access or flash another rom or get a recovery?
Thank you very much for your help!

[Help] Recovery is gone after update

Hi folks, I seek the advice of any one who could help me with issue. To give you a bit of background information, I have a D802 version which is rooted with CloudyStock 1.1, android 4.4.2 KK.
Yesterday I tried to update the version of Philz recovery that I had which has never been a problem before. I downloaded the latest version from the dedicated page here and went into the recovery to install the zip.
Whilst the zip was extracted without issue there was an error regarding "lokifying" the boot loader. I turned the phone off and tried to get in the recovery again but this time I had the error "secure booting: boot certification verify".
I never had any problem before, I don't know why the latest version of the recovery would create more problem that the old one.
The thing is that the phone works fine, it boots and runs without issue, I just can't get into recovery mode. Also the download mode works.
I'm sure they must be a way to get the recovery back. I tried to flash CMW with Rom Manager without success.
If anyone knows, I would appreciate the help greatly.
Cheers
considering kitkat has no root yet, getting a recovery on it is going to be difficult.
you will need a via zip flashable distro of kitkat. Which if you search you can make yourself. It was on xda portal some time ago.
That way I think root\recovery is maintained.

Thank you for your answer Bachera. I am not sure I understand what you mean by "via zip flashable distro of kitkat."
Plus my kitkat version of android is rooted, why would you think kitkat has no root yet?

I encountered something similar on my phone. However, i was on 4.2.2 but this worked for me. Give it a shot, it might work for you too

Good luck
Try Flashify from the Play store to flash a working recovery for your phone. I had the same issue with philz latest version. I had to use an older version of philz to get it to work on my phone.
Sent from my LG-D803 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I misread, I thought you went to a official kitkat. Only way to get root on kitkat is if lucky its maintained with a ota update. or a special made kitkat, thats what I mean with special distribution (distro) one via recovery flashable.
kitkat rooting directly at the moment of writing is not possible due to lg bootloader.

Thank you all for the help and suggestions. I tried flashify and I did not work.
However freegee worked very well and managed to go back to CMW.
All functional now!
Thanks

[HELP] Root and Recovery Lollipop

I know many of you must be tired of reading that noobs like me get stuck in such a simple process... But I've tried everything I can, so now it's my turn to ask for help.
I've updated via OTA to lollipop, but I'm tired of such lagginess, so I wanted to flash some other ROM. I've used the toolkit to unlock bootloader, which worked flawlessly, but I cannot get it to root. I don't get any error or anything, the device resets, it says the process was successful, but I don't get SuperSU and the apps to check root say I don't have the permission. I've tried some other methods, but I failed as well.
What the hell can I do to root, flash a recovery and flash this ROM? I've always done it with my other devices, but I can't manage to do it with my N7 even though it should be the easiest one as it has so much development!
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Sorry for my noobness
Take a look at this thread:
Lollipop Update
You don't need anything installed on the sdcard, but you need to be able to fastboot flash files from your pc. I used this process and successfully got Lollipop with SuperSU and root.

Trouble reflashing ASUS stock ROM for ZE551KL

I accidentally tried doing a factory reset, and flashing an incorrect rom. So I lost the stock rom, and have no other rom to use. I tried using TWRP to flash ASUS's stock firmware from asus's support website, under firmware. Using firmware file: "UL-Z00T-WW-1.16.40.763-user.zip"
but TWRP tells me "E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/TWRP/Stock.zip'
Error flashing '/sdcard/TWRP/Stock.zip"
I still have access to both adb, fastboot, and TWRP but I cant get an OS to install.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, haven't even had this phone a day yet, and already may have broken it.
I don't have an answer to your question , just got this phone yesterday and am in the process of figuring out how to root and install a custom recovery for this specific device.. I have found many methods to root but none for my specific model. I think you have the same model as I do and was hoping you could lead me to the place that will give me the files I need.. the box my phone came in has the model as ASUS_Z00TD (ZE551KL).. Sorry I wasn't of any help to you, hope you manage to figure out how to flash something that will get your device running again!

Happy to know that it works for you.
Whenever you got stuck in this situation, just flash stock recovery & you will able to flash stock rom again.

Do yo mean this stock recovery? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64441364&postcount=9
How do I flash it? just "fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img" ?
If so, I've tried that, and TWRP still boot when I try to enter recovery. Also, once I've flashed the stock recovery, do I just place the firmware on the root of the sdcard as 'update.zip' and try to install it from there?
Thanks for your help already, and sorry about the repetitive questions!

win droid tool kit

Hi I am using the windroid toolkit trying to root my new x pure. I got thru the first two steps ok, with a message thats its ok to move on to step 3, root access by flashing superuser.... everytime I try to flash super user I get a message that the phone is in the wrong state? I am still in the fastboot mode, start option. Is that correct? I tried rebooting the phone into the recovery mode by selecting the power and up volume keys, but that did not work? Im confused.......If I got by the 2nd step, should team win be in the recovery? thanks for any ideas here......
Why do you need a toolkit to root?
update,,,, the toolkit was on youtube and looked like an easy way to go thru the unlock, install recovery, root process. It worked fine and fast for the first two sections. I have an unlocked bootloader and teamwin recovery. I went to a different video that showed how to flash superuser into the recovery. I did that and now the phone is stuck on the Android M bootup screen. I am able to boot into the fastboot flash mode and teamwin recovery, so Im not completely bricked. Just stuck on the boot screen. Turns out the flashing superuser method does not work on Marshmellow... Anyone know how to fix this?
Did a bunch of searching and after a very long night I was able to return to stock, 5.1.1. Phone is back to normal and rooted. Lots of info here....just need to find it.....

You can update to Android M 6.0 and then you should flash SuperSU 2.62-3 through TWRP to gain root, after rooting with this version or SuperSU, you should be able to update to a new version of SuperSU, I have update to SuperSu 2.65 with no issue. This was the easiest way that I have found to root our phone running Android M 6.0.
Thank you for that information. Wish I had it from the beginning, would have saved a bunch of trouble. Turns out I spoke to soon. I am having the wi fi issue that some have had. I have gone from a stock 5.1.1 to 6.0, unlocked bootloader, teamwin recovery, soft brick, back to 5.1.1, now rooted. Not sure exactly where the phone is. The bootloader remained unlocked thru the reflash to stock 5.1.1. I noticed that the mac address and Ip address are both, "unavailable", when I go to: settings/wifi/ advanced. Most likely the reason wifi is inop. Is there a way to find the mac and Ip address? Which modem should I be on, now that Im 5.1.1? Will a factory reset bring them back or does that just clear user data? As you can tell I know just enough to be dangerous....lol.
