Note 9 S Pen sounds - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Is there a way to change the sound for the S Pen when it's detached/inserted and the alarm sound if you walk away and forget to insert the S Pen?

You might be able to do that... go take a look in the
system/media/audio/ui folder and try playing the files to see if you can figure out which sound it is. then backup the original file, or the complete folder to sd. Then try replacing with any sound you want but rename it to the same as original and fix permissions to same as original. reboot and test.
don't see why it wouldn't work... but there could be a limit to the file for that sound.
Good luck!!! always make a backup!!!
I'm not responsible if you phone breaks... standard disclaimer try at your own risk! even though it shouldn't!
I'm not available to assist! just trying to help you out!

Try the app spen toolbox. I didn't get the pro version but it definitely allowed changing the detach/attach sounds. Doesn't need root. Not sure about the alarm when you walk away though. Couldn't find that in the settings menu. Try the app spen keeper though it has mixed reviews

Thanks, S Pen Toolbox worked for setting the remove and insert sounds for the S Pen, I have been using S Pen Keeper for about a day and tested a few times, so far it's working good.

S pen keeper change the sound of alarm, forget everything you s-pen

Neither spen toolbox nor note buddy work for me. In toolbox, the app crashes when I select a sound file. In note buddy, I select the sound files, disable sound in settings but I still don't hear anything.

[Q] How to Disable Shutter Sound?

Wither the phone is on silent/vibrate or not, the camera always makes the shutter sound. When recording a video, it always makes a bloop when you hit record and stop. There is no setting for disabling this like my previous phones have had.
Without using a third party camera app (I've seen people on other forums suggest Cool FX which is not free) is there a way to disable this?
Try searching around in the system for a .ogg file that could be the shutter sound and renaming it.

I use an app called "Volume Toggle(free)". I set a custom profile and use an on screen widget to adjust the profiles. Set the system volume to 0. This will also get rid of the DTMF tones, unlock clicks, and other UI sounds.

What app do you recommend for browsing the files? The built in one doesn't seem to do much good.

This works great, but it's a bummer I have to run a third party app to do it. It is nice however that there IS a third party app to do it.
Yeah. It was one thing that bothered me coming from BlackBerry. Every app was customizable with sound, volume, vibration, led, etc. It was great.

Could try SilentSnap:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/silentsnap-camera-free/com.blundell
Have heard some concerns, but it does work (After using it, double check your alarm volumes.. evidently the camera sound is DIRECTLY tied to the alarm volume... making an alternative solution to simply turn your alarm volume all the way down I believe...
HTH!
*Edit:
Looks like .ogg file is in /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg
Don't know what affect it would ahve to delete it.. but you could always rename it, and then make a copy of VideoRecord.ogg (which I believe is SILENT), and rename the copy to camera_click.ogg
Should work *shrug*

What would be the best way to find that file? What app are you using to browser the phone file system?
There is actually an easier way of doing this. Here's how to have a silent camera, including the autofocus sound with no external apps or editing/renaming system files. Turn your phone to silent on the lock screen (or use the rocker to go to no sound), then go into your native alarm app and uncheck "Alarm in silent mode."
There ya go. Turn down your phones volume and you have no camera sounds. easy easy
Just remember to turn the sound back on or your alarm will not Alarm
That doesn't sound like a solution. Having to modify your sound settings everytime you want to take a picture, then again when you want an alarm to go off? I would rather someone tell me what program I can use to find the sound file and modify it.

To delete/rename the file, you'll want to use Root Explorer. This requires you be rooted, which I'm just guessing from the nature of your posts you're not (since Root Explorer is often one of the first apps someone gets when rooting).
It is rooted, I'm still figuring out what put on there as far as apps go. Looks like it's about $4.
I found a great solution. It's called SilentSnap. It disables all sound from the system when it opens it. It uses your normal camera and disables the shutter sound. Its free.

Upload various APK's

Hi there, I have an aussie galaxy note 3, and it came with a series of quirks that are really annoying me
First, the touchwiz launcher - you cannot edit the bottom row of icons in the dock, they are fixed.
The camera - The autofocus and camera shutter are ridiculously loud and cannot be shut off
The gallery - There is no auto rotate, to rotate to landscape, you must put your phone in landscape mode and then click on an icon to rotate.
Could someone please upload the above apks from their non aussie device? This means I could install them over the top of my existing ones?
Or is there an easier way of doing this? I tried deleting all the sound files in system/media/ui (everything like camerashutter.ogg) and still no success.
Cheers.

Thats what I did, maybe the apks the guy uploaded were bad. - I deleted the old apks after making backups with titanium so no issue
A guy on whirlpool said he just flashed another regions firmware, and that let him silence the camera and modify the bar at the bottom.
I don't have mine yet so can't test...
Does anyone know if that would mean the region locking would suddenly apply if i did that?

You need to remove a few of lines in your others.xml relating to this. I am on Aussie firmware and have done it already.
Search system/csc/others.xml and open with text editor in Root Explorer. I am in a rush now but if you can't locate the lines to remove I will find later for you.
Once deleted save & exit then reboot.
Done and enjoy
Just intalled omega rom, so don't worry about it. May as well post it for others.

In some countries no shutter sound is not avaliable in the app like here in Sweden.
Usually the camera sounds are stored in system/media/audio/ui and there you can delete or rename the ogg file to silence the camera.
But I think the sounds for this camera is incorporated into the camera apk itself, because I can't find them in system.
Tapatalked.
Can someone that has the option to silence the shuttersound post their LGCameraApp.apk & LGCameraApp.odex?
Thanks.

Here in Norway "no shutter sound" is not an option so I use tasker to turn silent mode on when the camera app is in foreground.
Just to add on this one:
As disabling the camera sound in (custom) camera apps didn't work I simply renamed the "camera_click.ogg" file in system/media/audio/ui and now I can enjoy a nice and silent camera

Did you do this on an LG G2?
I haven't rooted my phone yet, but it seems that other people aren't able to find this file.
Just tried the Mobile Hidden Camera app from the PlayStore.
Seems to be able to take pictures without sound but because it's a "Spy" app, I can't see what is within the frame before I take the picture and can't tell if the camera has finished focusing or not.
This has been the only success I've had and it's definitely far from a permanent solution...
I'll think I'll keep it for the few times where I may have to take a picture without sound.
Use Tasker
Set up a profile that when the camera app is open, silent mode is turned on.
Works nicely.

Do I have to root my phone to use it?
Does your camera sound turn off when you set the phone on silent without Tasker?
Setting my phone on silent/vibrate had no effect and using Camera Mute from Glen on XDA didn't help either since I think the sound file is built into the camera app.

Tasker is only the greatest app available in the play store. Not free, but totally worth the money.
Yes, my phone does NOT make a sound when it is set to silent. If yours does not, then Tasker may not be able to help.
On my D801 renaming camera_click.ogg doesn't do anything.
Setting the phone to silent does nothing too, I had used a custom app designed to emulate the Tasker command that others used. No avail.
This is incredibly annoying! I'm in Canada, there's no shutter law, don't understand why i can't disable it.

Hi folks..
Inorder to remove d camera shutter sounds u have to root your phone..
Once rooted install the root explorer app in it..
Then head to / > system > media > audio > ui folder..
Select the music files whose name has "camera" in it and delete them..
Thats all!
Note: I recommend u to take the backup of those files before deleting so that u can restore them whenever u want the sound back..
Hit "thanks" if I have helped you..!!!

[Q] Removing the shutter sound

Got my Verizon GN3 rooted, went to the same folders as with the GN2 and changed the necessary .ogg files to .bak, which silenced the camera on the GN2. No such luck with the GN3, I'm still getting the shutter sound. I'm sure I'm missing a file somewhere, I did a search with Root Explorer for .ogg files and didn't see anything that stuck out.
Here is the path and list of the .ogg files I renamed with Root Explorer:
System/Media/Audio/UI
Auto_Focus.ogg
Auto_Focus_Error.ogg
Cam_Start.ogg
Cam_Stop.ogg
Camera_Click.ogg
Camera_Click_Short.ogg
Camera_Empty.ogg
Camera_Focus.ogg
Camera_Timer.ogg
Camera_Timer_2sec.ogg
Lens_Flare_Lock.ogg
Lens_Flare_Unlock.ogg
Shutter.ogg
Shutter_Multiple.ogg
VideoRecord.ogg
Anyone have any ideas?

I'll try deleting it, I don't like doing that, but I can't see any instance where I'll ever need that shutter sound. It's strange, the shutter sound is intermittent. I had rebooted the phone earlier today so I don't believe anything was 'hung' up. I'll see after it's deleted.
I've tried renaming it to .bak and moving it to the SD card and it still makes the shutter sound after rebooting.
I used an xposed module to turn it off (it just renamed it) but it didn't work. So I tried completely deleting the renamed file and it still makes the sound when I take a pic.

Unable to mute camera - Root

I have used this method in the past on both my S3 and S4 and it always worked. I just rooted my Note 3 and tried the same without any success. I do the following:
Navigate to system> media> audio> ui Then I proceed to change the name of the following:
Camera_click.ogg
Camera_focus.ogg
Shutter.ogg
Shutter_multiple.ogg
As I stated above, this has always worked but it's NOT working on the Note 3. I have tried it 3 times already and rebooted each time and nothing. Does anyone know if there is something different with the camera sounds on the Note compared to the S3 and S4?
Thanks.
Yes some sounds are baked into the app itself. To fully mute camera you need to use a root Explorer. Go to system / csc/ open feature. Xml then go to camera_shuttersound menu and change it to true. (it's close to the top, under camera features.)
Then go to camera and you will have a mute option in the settings.
