No 4G/LTE after August security update. - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

As the title says. I'm using the Global version of the Mi A1 and after the update I don't get any 4G, even at home where I had full 4G reception before. Anyone else have any problems like these?

Nope, it's okay for me. Maybe you can change your prefered network typing in the dial *#*#4636#*#*

Tried that, doesn't stick and changes nothing. Setting a new APN likewise doesn't do anything.

Did you find any solution?

Yeah, flashed the most recent modem from the modem thread again.

[Q] Tried to connect to LTE went back and super slow now

Hey my friend wanted me to check if I had LTE in my area so i did the *#*#4636#*#* and clicked LTE/GSM/CDMA and did a speed test. Clearly I didn't have LTE testing myspeeds like (.12mpsD 1.2mpsU). Im curious as to if I accidently caused somthing to get screwed up in that section and would a full restore to stock fix that issue.

AT&T I assume (since you bothered to try at all).
Did you change your APN settings? Did you change the setting BACK TO WCDMA preferred?

Best you can do is go back and change it to stock (WCDMA preferred I believe)
Also make sure your APN is set correctly. Speed test via AT&T's cingular proxy are throttled. Read through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2021401

I didn't get around to changing my apn settings I kinda got scared and went back to WCDMA all my APNs stayed the same. What does changing that do is it specific to the radio I assume? Idk what part of the rom I actually affected by changing to LTE

You weren't going to get LTE without changing to an LTE-enabled APN (for AT&T, it's "PTA" instead of "PHONE" or "WAP.CINGULAR"), so I assumed you had changed it.
Double check to make sure you're on WCDMA preferred ('ve had it not "stick" on phones before"). Then, restart your device.

Can´t recive calls with 4G signal

I'm new in this forum, but I recently bought a Moto X Pure edition and everything is great except for the simple task of recive calls, I have tried everything that comes to my mind eaven make a hard reset, but I can't get the cel take a call, are sended right to the voicemail the only "solution" is work with 3G but the internet speed is too slow.
There is a way to fix it or should I think about change the phone?

Check your APN settings and ensure they Match to what your provider says.

That is the correct behavior... if you dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone info and scroll down, is your "Set preferred network type" set to "LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)"?

Reboot into Safe Mode and try it... Press the power button until the Power Offn button appears, then long press the Power Off button and in the "Reboot to safe mode" screen, select OK. Once it is rebooted into safe mode, test again.
Are you stock, rooted, or running a custom rom?

Hmm... Odd... I haven't heard of this issue on the X. Any chance of trying with another SIM, say borrow one from a friend long enough to test, or getting a replacement?
Otherwise, factory reset and test again.

I already done that the factory reset do not work, and if I change the sim to my old celphone (moto X 1) works perfecto, when I use a sim fom Telcel ( another service provider) the phone works normal, its weird because should be the same Ting, the only diference that I see is that the signal bar change from LTE to 4G (I touthg that was the same) with the Telcel provider.

The Style will show 4G instead of LTE... It's normal I believe. You can verify with LTE Discovery or Network Signal Info app, but I don't think it's relevant. Sorry, but I'm running out of ideas.
What version Android, firmware, and radios (Build number and baseband info)?

I think that there is all the information that you ask if not, let me know. And thank you So much for your time
I ran into a problem where I couldn't connect to the voice network but data worked, and I discovered that I had accidentally flashed the US modem firmware when I changed ROMs. This probably isn't the case here, as its fully stock, but I think it's worth mentioning. Go to Settings->About Phone->Status->SIM Status and make sure that both voice and data are labeled "In Service".
Ok might need expansion of problem explanation, but here's the deal.....
If getting LTE on and off call, that's true LTE your carrier is supporting.
If getting LTE when not on call and H+ while on a call, then your carrier does not have VoLTE enabled and this is normal. H+ should be plenty fast.
However, if you are getting LTE while not on call but 3G/UMTS/CDMA1900/EVDO/edge/etc(2-3g), then the same rule as above applies, only difference this time is the tower you're connected to does not support H+ or your phone does not support your carrier's H+ frequency.
Who is your carrier?

WiFi calling and VolTE

Hello everyone.
Tried to get WiFi calling and VoLTE working on my Lumia 950XL, tried different ROMs and thinking about it is a radio thing, here in Denmark, we are flatrated in calls and use of 4G, working fine on itelephones?
read somewhere that band 12 (700 MHz) are used for that, can see in my setting Voice over LTE is supported, but not to configure under SIM settings.
can somebody confirm that WiFi calling is possible whit debranded ROM?
I got debranded 950xl and i dont have that features.

4G network not available in Switzerland

Hello everyone,
I just bought a mi A1 but unfortunately the 4G network didn't appear in the list of available networks anymore. I checked the settings and 4G is the preferred network type. Also, I have LTE/UMTS (auto) as preferred network type in phone info. I tried several options with no luck.
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

Did you put the code on the telephone dialer? If so,
try one of the solutions on this page: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.technobezz.com/fix-connection-problem-invalid-mmi-code/amp/
Ed: You don't have to be rooted

I put LTE/CDMA/UMTS (auto)(PRL)
LTE it's the same as 4G
According to https://willmyphonework.net/ should 4G/LTE work on Your network.

Sprint/Tmobile S20 stuck on VoLTE?

I've been getting complaints about my cell phone connection for about a week now, and I've realized that I'm on voLTE. I quickly found the setting but it's grayed out! I can't toggle it off at all. I've tried limiting my networks around, I suppose the fastest fix would be to dock it down all the way to 3g (and while I'm home that doesn't seem like a bad option) but I'm wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience.
I'll likely launch another sprint ticket but I've already yelled at them once today about my bill (regarding the purchase of the s20)
My whole family is having this issue, they live in a place with 1 or 2 bars of nothing and it won't switch to wifi calling unless they put their phones in airplane mode or switch to 2G(GSM). But in certain places it will switch to wifi calling, it says in the Wifi Calling FAQ that as of April it would be prioritizing VOLTE over WiFi Calling.
Go into settings, General Management , Reset and Reset Network settings. You will have to log back on to your wifi and turn on Wifi Calling afterwards. It should then work. I have to do this occasionally.

On my Sprint S20, I was able to use Samsung Band Selector app to disable VOLTE, but it knocked out 5G. I have not been able to have VOLTE but still get 5G working with Sprint. Anyone else?
