I want to start a thread about Project Treble-based ROMs because I want to clear this discussion thread that had many different topics about flashing custom ROMs. From now on, you can share your thoughts and experiences about your used custom ROMs here.

Well i asked on Openkirin's support group on telegram about bugs and they told me that every rom comes with sound and microphone bug sometimes due to strange implementation that huawei/honor made originally. So with that in mind i'm very scared about trying to flash because i NEED a working microphone. Anyone on H8 facing this bug? Are you facing other bugs? Should i stay on EMUI 8 for now? Tell me your toughts
flashed every openkirin rom (LOS, OMNI, CARBON, RROS, androidP with android features) Los had i think the best battery but i enjoyed carbon and omnirom the best
You could go to android P but i have strange bootloop if i set fingerprint
cameras are great on openkirin roms
just flash every one if you have time, you wont regret it

I don't know, the team was talking about the Openkirin's ones. But yes, all Openkirin Roms have those bugs they said

Hello guys! I'm here again because I need help. Is there any good Android Pie ROM for Honor 8? I tried the Pixel Experience Pie GSI, camera doesn't work. I tried the Kirin GSI AOSP Android 9.0 Pie ROM, it overheats the phone when I'm charging it. Are there any other Pie ROMs that I can install on my phone or I have to wait until the OpenKirin team makes a stable Pie GSI?

This takes me to a file sharing site that needs scam surveys to download, so I can't download it. Other ideas?
At the moment, there isn't a good rome (Pie 9.0 is intended) that meets your requests. So i think is better to wait for an openkirin release (wich should come not so far....)

How did you flashed the Pixel Experience GSI on H8...It didn't boot up for me on my device...
How is the stability and battery life on AOSP pie open kirin GSI?

lets just wait for LOS O..hehe.. anyone tried it? boit time? camera improvement? or just the number is upgraded? from 8 to 9? what a shame.. so xiaomi wants us to use unofficial port from mi max

Click to collapse Xiaomi is my number 1 most hated mobile brand, still on Android 6 how pathetic, ffs the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has Nougat planned for it (yes a different brand but still same year)
Stick to v9 - 7.0 never ever going to this tomorrow. Why did there build this rom when a newer port is working so good???

This rom would hopefully solve the few issues which we face in nougat port... Like auto brightness, read mode, nd camera...

I dont understand the point of upgrading... Seriously I wl never go back to miui official ever.finger crossed . Miui 9 port by orochixxx is my daily driver now and Hopefully they will fix the bugs like cam recording, brightness very soon...so *** k miui official. Thanks for sharing though sir

This is not a port, this is official rom from Xiaomi. This is first Close Beta rom Miui 9 China Developer for rn3pro, 7.8.28 is first close beta for all phones from third batch. Official link,official rom and md5 its good. I test on mi4, redmi4, redmi note 2 and redmi3. Sent from my MI 5C using Tapatalk

I think we could have good custom ROMs anyway. Remember the cancro. We have some really amazing custom Oreo 8.1 ROMs at the moment. BTW i would use a excellent N ROM as well (something like RR, NOS, DU or similar)

No need to flash Gapps as it already includes it.

And to the OP it should work no issues. Well I mean no other issues than the ones currently in the rom. If you read the thread there's fingerprint issues headphone jack no audio issues nav-bar issues. So is best to wait, but nice find

PE for Treble is already official. PE Official Treble = PE devs will update. OTAs included. PE Official Tissot = Sooti will update using base code from devs. Includes OTAs too.

Click to collapse Yes. there is couple of semi stable sgsis. op7pro 5g gsi with available fixes has slow screen open and fp offscreen needs double tap but otherwise it´s stable. op6t port should be stable after flashing the fixes and There´s also a aura mod but I haven´t tested so no idea about stability. links are in lavender gsi discussion telegram group
Any ported Rom of ONE UI or Oxygen OS
Hi Devs, I have done testing mnay pixel exp roms like havoc os,pixel rom and many more. Do nay one knows or can port One ui for Mi 8 Lite or any other system software instead of pixel experience roms. Really appreciate dev efforts.....
