G955USQS5CRH1 Update is out for S8+ - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S8+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Can this be flashed to the U1 XAA from July 19?
My phone was updated to this already in the past couple of days (it's a stock AT&T that has been unlocked with the AT&T provided unlock code). I can't seem to find a suitable Odin, or there's something else wrong, to be able to flash the XAA G955U1UES5CRF5 from 7/19/18 onto it. Some versions give SHA256 fail, while others rapidly exit with RQT_CLOSE!! and the phone reboots in seconds.
Any ideas? They're both BL5, right-- so I thought this would not be an issue?

Yes, but typically if the images share bootloader versions there isn't an issue attempting the flash that stems from the bootloader, and those are both v5.
Anyway, the good news is just this morning I found a version of Odin here in the forums that worked out!
I was reading S9/S9+ threads in hopes of seeing more recent Odin links and struck gold at the very bottom here .
I can confirm that the latest stock ATT discussed in this thread can be flashed over to the July 19 stock unlocked XAA firmware using the Odin linked above, and also this same Odin will take you from that XAA release back to the prior stock ATT release G955USQU5CRG3.

Thanks for this it works, however just a few questions, I noticed after swapping the ATT to U1 the samsung codes do not work anymore, eg *#*#4636#*#*, could you or anyone shed some light on how to resolve this?

I am on Beta U5CRI3 Now and works good.

Successfully Downgraded Firmware

As stated in the title, I've managed to bypass the locked bootloader and flash pc8 firmware from pd8 firmware. It didn't seem I had any restrictions to what I flashed in Odin. Just looking for suggestions before I post how.
Bought the phone with pd8 firmware, downgraded to bl, ap,csc to pc8 firmware
Got ahead of myself

So we're you able to downgrade or not? I been having issues with the July update and wanted to go back to may.
Awhile ago I tried flashing back to I guess to feb update and kept getting errors.
Try the odin modified version that comes with the rooting package for s7 qualcomm USA version.
It's all over the net.

Thanks for the idea, but it didn't work sadly. Same error [aboot] 3 > 2 failed.
Oh well, I am hoping the unlocked firmware thats out will be updated to v3 bootloader soon.

955U1 Nougat to 955U TMB Oreo

So I have what was originally a VZW 955U, flashed soon after I got it, to the unlocked 955U1 firmware using Prince's Odin and have been happy so far. Now with all the Oreo updates released except for the unlocked one, I'm wondering if I can just use prince's odin again to load the latest TMB Oreo firmware or need to do the whole engboot thing first? My current software is latest Nougat build for 955U1 and shows up as TMB//VZW.
Any thoughts?
No one? I remember reading on some of the earlier threads that if you flashed U1 first, you could then flash to the other carriers versions without the other steps but want to confirm. Don't want to deal with bootloops or softbricks.
I think you need the eng file ..but there is not oreo eng file..
Tried a lot of things, flashing tmobile oreo directly using modified and unmodified odin, trying to flash the latest Nougat builds from Tmobile using Prince Odin (the Dec one almost took and showed up as TMB/TMB/VZW but ultimately would not get updates) and then flashing back to the unlocked version but nothing worked, will likely have to do a full erase and reload the unlocked version. The eng boot file no longer works far as I can tell. Will just have to wait for the unlocked version to get updated. Sucks as this is a corporate phone and my firm has been pushing to get Oreo on all devices.
If someone has a recent guide on carrier switching the S8 , would appreciate it. Most guides here are from May of 2017 and I'm betting those files are too old to be compatible if you're on the latest Dec build for 950U1/955U1. At least doing a full reset and reflash of the 955U1 brought Wifi Calling which wasn't quite working right since I had just flashed over the 955U1 software over the stock verizon last year.
I think I'll just wait a few more weeks for the 955U1 Oreo to drop. Has to happen eventually right? Lol.

AT&T CRD6 OREO on 930U and CANT revert back to BRA1, BQE1, BRD1 in Odin

Literally no matter what I do. I cannot flash ANYTHING in Odin to either revert back to 7.0 or stock 8.0. Its not flashing any version of 7 or 8 and its not flashing any U firmware or AT&T firmware.
What am I doing wrong. I flashed 8.0 with the intent to be able to revert back to stock 7.0 once official Oreo rolled out and I literally cant do anything in Odin. I've tried odin 3.13 and 3.12 prince version. HALP
update: flashed G930UUEU4BRD1 using odin 3.12 successfully. phew
As far as I know, the newest Oreo version of AT&T is CRE4, not BRD6 as you say

You may be speaking about where I said CRD6, that is a version of Oreo that doesn't have much difference than the latest version of Oreo CRE4. Most of them after release have been minor changes. I was not flashing back to BRA1 to constantly flash the newest update of Oreo. I have an unlocked s7 so I can flash any carrier but eventually when the official oreo firmware comes out for either tmobile or the unlocked 930 varient i will be switching back to OTA updates

The issue was probably that I needed to put home file in csc and exclude the csc file and then factory reset and clear caches. I probably ended up factory reset before Odin and didn't activate USB debug or the files I was using were corrupt. Since then I've just flashed TMobile Oreo that came out a few days ago and I'm gonna just use official ota for future updates

Looks like same problem with Galaxy S8, just search Stuck 32% error at Galaxy s8.
Reverting back from Oreo to either Nougat or Marshmallow
I am a newbie here.. Recently my ATT Galaxy S7 received Oreo upgrade and I am not at all liking it.
Can someone please guide me if it's possible to go back to Nougat or even marshmallow (preferable). If yes, what would steps for same..
My device is SM-G930A. Originally ATT device and now it's unlocked by ATT.
My device is currently NOT rooted , I am OK with rooting it.. I would appreciate if someone can help me with steps for same as well..
Thanks in advance..

S10+ G975U want to remove ATT bloatware.

Hey there. My S10+ G975U is running G975USQS4DTF6, One UI 2.1, wanna flash unbranded.
Tried a couple tutorials from here but nothing has removed the AT&T bloatware.
Familiar with flashing, odin, combo files, etc.
It's my phone, completely accessible. I just want to remove the system hog bloatware.
'preciate it!
Just flash an G975U1 ROM and you will get rid of those bloatware

Thanks for your responce!
So have to root/unlock flash custom recovery first? If so I haven't found instructions for the US AT&T model.
Any advice much appreciated.
Tried two firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
G975USQU1ASBA_G975UOYN1ASBA_USC
Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
Tried another couple firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched....
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
still Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
also always abl.elf, xbl.elf fail in Odin.
Should I use mount the Userdata? I think i've tried both ways and they fail. Ugh, losing track of what I've tried now.
I did this a year ago when I first got my S10+ Verizon and flashed the unlocked rom on it.
I believe that there's a modded version of oden here. Find it and download the latest original unlocked firmwear and you should be good.
No root and nothing

Downloaded the most recent through Frija for CSC "USC" and "TMO"
Tried flashing with Odin modded and regular. abd 3.14.4 now.
Still keep getting SW REV CHECK FAIL " [ab1]Fuzed 4 > Binary 3"
Also, the I've noticed sometimes HOME CSC is used or included when other times regular CSC is.
USERDATA is sometimes not used, what's up with that?
Thanks again for any more leads. I keep flashing and wishing lol
There are two very similar models: 975U and 975U1. The one ending in U1 should be unbranded.
I need to unlock bootloader?

Recently tried both:
SM-G975U_1_20200722120433_iwlnbyil7p_fac
SM-G975U_1_20200610113004_mh0r74212v_fac
Both from Frija
Is that 1 in the middle correct?
Which version number of Odin is for S10+ Android 10 i guess would help narrow down my problem too?
Besides the firnware Odin has to match too right? Or can you just use the most recent version for any earlier firmwares too?
Added screenshots from Phone Info SAM
It comes down to confirming exactly which firmware is needed, version of Odin (modded or not), which CSC to put in(CSC or HOME) and is USERDATA necessary too?
Thanks again all!!!

Most of your questions can be answered here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/sm-g975u-firmware-downloads-tmo-spr-att-t3908657
You can flash any Rom (V, ATT, or anty other American Rom) you want as long as you don't go backwards on your bootloader version. The version # is the 5th from the last digit on your baseband #. I flashed a U1 rom on Verizon bought S10+ and now get updates straight from Samsung with no vendor apps at all.
Winner:
USC-G975U1UES4DTG1-20200806151900
with Odin Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD

SamFirm does not load any info for an ATT S8+ / Does not show "USA" Region option. What do I do?

I hate ATT. I hope their stupid company dies soon.
Anyway, I'm trying to flash my ATT S8+ that is running Android 7.0 with Android Pie. I first attempted to use Frija and it said that the ATT "CSC code not supported". I then tried SamFirm and when I input the phone model SM-G955U, it doesn't show the "United States" Region option.
Ideally, I would like to flash my phone with an unbranded Android Pie. What do I do?
UPDATE: I am able to find many different firmware files on SamFrew. However, I still need to know if I can flash an unbranded XAA file from there?
Will it work? And do I need a modded version of Odin to flash? I came across some guy's youtube tutorial that says only to use a modded Odin to flash unbranded firmware on an ATT Samsung phone, but unfortunately his video is from three years ago and so I'm not sure if the modded Odin he's linked to will be compatible and be able to flash the much recent released firmware updates.
UPDATE: Issue resolved. I went ahead and flashed it and it worked.
