I have been collecting files for the a500 for a while now and I finally decided to release them since Tegraowners seems to officially be down. I have most of the roms from Tegraowners as well as some files to unlock the bootloader.

Do you think you can post a tutorial on how to install custom roms for this tablet? I've been trying to figure this out ever since I got one of these and I find it way too confusing. I want to get 5.1.1 up and running.

I just updated the thread, the tutorial is up.

I was able to successfully install some of these roms on my tablet. I was wondering what version of gapps should I download? I have a version of gapps from a different forum site that I've been using. Which version of gapps from their website would I use on the omnirom (5.1.1)?

I just use opengapps, but don't forget to format the data partition to f2fs in recovery so that googe play works correctly

I can help but first a need a bit of info.
What version of Android is your tablet on?
Is it rooted?
What did you get as your cpuid?
And also I think you have the wrong files because this guide doesn't use a500 flash tool. In the a500-bootloader-nvflash zip just click a501.bat and follow the instructions.

Thanks for fast response

sorry for late reply. ive been trying to do the rooting by using the ICS root blackthundr ONLY, and press the button at the bottom with check marks of what it is going to install, but the info at the bottom says "loading file info" and nothing is happening. usb debugging is on, and tab is on while on its homepage, so what i did i just click the button part to do the process, until it says done. but when i check the tablet nothing happened. no new apps was install. can we do a live chat, like in whatsapp or viber so i can also take photos of what im doing and what is going on, so you can track down everything?

Gapps for Omnirom 4.4.4
Hi, many thanks for gathering all here.
I've tried CM12, but found it unusable due to slowness.
Then I put Omnirom 4.4.4 which runs fine, but I'm having trouble with the gapps.
I tried OpenGapps ARM 4.4 pico, and my /data is formatted as f2fs, but Play is showing a black screen and play service stops all the time.
Which gapps version do you use ? I need a stable version.
Thank you

From what I've tested omnirom 5.1.1 seems to run a little better than cm 12 so you could try that. When you overclock it to about 1.5 GHz it runs pretty good. As for the Google play bug idk how to fix that I haven't tried KitKat on my device in a while.

Thing is i don't understand this
"Suggest you extract to the same folder you used for your adb files,
USBDeview will only work when you have previously plugged your tab into the PC WHILE
you were running HC Rom and BL"
specifically adb files ad i also didnt plug it in previously running those things

[GUIDE] How to GB(root) ICS and JB a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S] from korea

Hi,
I'm writing this guide because I think that there is not clear and concise information on how to flash diferent and up to date ROMs on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S], the korean version.
All the info I've found was very fragmented and also is the inconvenient that the TAB is exclusive for Korea, so all the info was in korean.
Diging around and with extra help from forum member SmaRkieS whom I want to give a big thanks, I was able to root my tab and also upgrade it to ICS and JellyBean.
I'm going to separate by Android versions.
- Gingerbread (Root):
Well, if your TAB is Android 2.3.6 UC27 it's very possible that you cannot root it by this two methods http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22194773&postcount=2
So, I've found that there is an Android 2.3.6 UC27 ROM which is rooted. To flash it (same procedure for all the other roms for this TAB) use Odin 1.85 Just downoad this ROM (Android 2.3.6 UC27), run Odin and check that is like this

}
Click the PDA button and select the ROM you downloaded and click Start. Let it finish and the TAB will reboot and Gingerbread rooted ROM will be installed
Here is an Odin tutorial
And here you can find all the Stock ROMs
EDIT: Please, be aware that from this point, you will not have mobile data working. Since ICS, Google developers have disabled the option to write the APN settings due to security reasons, so, you will only have phone calls working but no mobile data.
- IceCreamSandwich:
This rom will enable your tab to 10 point capacitive touch screen.
This is ICS AOPK 4.0.4
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung...ich ROM/IceCreamSandwich_M180S_Stable_2.0.tar
You have to flash it with the Odin method. When it finish and the TAB reboots, I recomend to turn it of and enter the revovery mode by pressing vol up+power and do a full wipe.
First time I flashed this ROM it takes hours to boot, and by hours I mean 5 or 6. I did the full wipe and let it boot by night, next morning the TAB have booted and was asking for the initial setup. So don't despair, it will finally boot. I promise.
- JellyBean:
Do not flash this ROM if you don't have previously flashed ICS!
This is JellyBean 4.1.2
EDIT: I've found a much much better working Jelly Bean ROM, here you can download it and flash with Odin:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=185726&uk=571066819
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/Galaxy/Galaxy Tab/SHW-M180S/JiWon Rom/Jiwon ROM 2.0S Full.tar
To flash it, first do a nandroid backup (for your own safety), then full wipe and finaly use same Odin method as in the others to flash the ROM.
Anyway, you can go to http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/Galaxy/Galaxy%20Tab/SHW-M180S/ and dig in to the folders to find the ROM you want.
Hope this tutorial will be useful to all of those ones, as me, that own a Galaxy TAB Korean version and are not koreans and were having problems finding how to root or upgrade and all the info is in korean.
By the way, excuse my english because I'm from Spain and I'm sure I did a lot of mistakes.
Thanks for watching!!!:highfive:
Thanks alot...........u saved me the time
You are wellcome man!
hi there ..
thank you erucoco very much to guide us all with these good informations ..
but i could you give us another link for the jelly bean rom?!! coz the link is broken...
ok i have found it ...
new link for the jelly bean 4.1.2 rom
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/Galaxy/Galaxy Tab/SHW-M180S/JiWon Rom/Jiwon ROM 2.0S Full.tar
Hi,
Thanks for the advise, guide links corrected and added the ROMs Develoid repository .
Hi there, any mirror for the aokp ics? I cant download from develoid server. Thx.
Completely clean ROM thanks a lot . We need more post people like you .
links are change (moved but they exists)
Thanks erucoco!! Finally I could root my tab using UC27 ROM you specified!
I tried both ICS and JB versions and luckily could get out of the first boot withing 5-10 minutes. But, I had to revert back to GB, as with both ICS and JB ROMs, I could not Call (error - "Turn off the flight mode.." though flight mode is Off) or SMS (error "Currently service is not available.."). Turning Flight mode ON and then Off would make the tab to get network, but for only few seconds.
I highly appreciate if you suggest any workaround for the issues or may be any other clean ICS or JB ROM.
Keep up the good work!
Shouldn't these be in general?

I'm sure that when you flash the ICS rom, it cames with the CWM. So you can do backups, install zip's and so on.
Give it a try, because I don' know how to have CWM in Gingerbread. I recomend then install the JB rom.

In this thread, I'll describe a simple, fast, and definitely safer than SPFTools.
SPFTools VCOM working on ports that are not always recognized, sometimes give problems also installing special drivers, they are almost always a problem for Windows because of the signatures on the driver.
Closed this little digression for information, we start with the drivers:
Driver Lenovo K3 Note + PDAnet+:
https://mega.co.nz/#!O4lmBaZa!jCUk1z0BB6wsBgP1P3e5BdoJQtBY_xi6TXuwcBOCv5k
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Install all drivers Lenovo inside. Once you finished enable the USB debugging and wait for Windows to complete its configuration.
When completed restart the PC and install the utility on the device:
PdaNet:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pdanet&hl=it
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Be sure to restart to have all the drivers installed correctly and stay in Debug USB.
Without this included in your terminal this .zip file to obtain permits Root later:
SuperSU:
https://mega.co.nz/#!b8tSiYZJ!yr3okwkxmoR8NqSN10PCEtxsLl25aZ3VUSALqTKszsM
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now download this Minimal ADB (with Recovery K3 notes included) from here:
Minimal ADB & Fastboot + K3 Note Recovery (CWM):
https://mega.co.nz/#!rs0lHZrI!hE3Ux99skP-q3RYsgb9KNwX2Dnji192uU0KJB3iQNdo
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now comes the fun part!
Unzip the zip file and open the file py_cmd.exe and quietly run these commands:
Code:
adb devices
To ensure that the PC recognizes the device, and if it should be unauthorized make sure that USB debugging is enabled.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
This command will reboot the phone on a black screen, going in fastboot .
Code:
fastboot devices
This command will confirm the above.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This command will install the much sought CWM, but it is not over yet!
Code:
fastboot reboot
This command will restart the device.
Perfect! now to get root permissions, there will be that off the device, wait a few seconds and turn it on using this key combination:
VOLUME UP - VOLUME DOWN - POWER
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Wait until the CWM is not playing, choose obviously the English language.
Subsequently searching
Code:
install zip
... and subsequently ...
Code:
choose zip from /sdcard
... looking for that zip file SuperUser inserted at the beginning.
Et voila! The device is unlocked and ready to receive new rom and functionality!
Part Two - Install new ROM from SPFTools CWM does not work when
Many with the above guide you tried to change the finding in eom stuck.
With this procedure you can go back, but before we move forward I want to give you a few details regarding the update of the rom:
*- The rom mounted on chinese devices with Play Service support and multilanguage already moddate the seller.
*- Given the above, download a rom 'official' (see NeedRom) carrying the phone in its native state.
*- If you need to download the latest versions from the site VibeUI not download the latest available, sometimes the downgrade is not possible (personal experience).
Let's start!
First, before you go ahead to make sure you have followed the guidance post 100% in the first part of the thread.
Follow the link:
SPFTools V5:
https://mega.co.nz/#!G0sVBK5A!M9DovhVgx_aCdXpySq0zmkKvrPbAFePtJgZRXyjtG7w
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now unpack everything and put it in a folder convenient for you.
I post the link of a rom in case I tried to see if this will work, even to you. To me it is working well.
In the third part if this rom works almost everyone will get all roms that I find around and decide what to do and what to do.
Rom 1949Deal:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zep53n1j214ri45/lenovo k3 note rom.rar?dl=0
Password: 1949dealjoy
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Once downloaded, extract directory in a readily available and open flash_tool.exe .
Before we go on, first remove the battery and attach only the USB cable, then set the SPFTools this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Set in this way the program.
In step [1] look for the previously extracted folder and locate the file.
Give the program a few seconds to load the rom, and after leaving it in Download Only Click Download .
Obviously nothing will happen, to make sure that going forward, you can simply insert the battery and wait for the completion of the transaction.
Reinstall the back cover and turn on the device. Give it about 8/10 minutes for the first startup.
Et voila! We are again ready to modding this Lenovo K3 notes!
Part Three - Collection ROM

Do you have it and know that FDD LTE is not supported? Sounds unlikely as China Unicom has FDD LTE in addition to TDD LTE (and the phone supports China Unicom).
Is there any ROM supporting dual SIMs?
Thanks.

[REQ] SafeCenter
Dear Colleagues,
I have Lenovo Vibe Z2. It has got recently the Lollipop upgrade that works quite well. But Lenovo did not include the SafeCecter app into the upgrade and the old one, extracted from the 4.4 ROM, isn't compatible with the new ROM, it even cannot be installed.
So, my request: would someone be so kind and extract the SafeCecter app from the K3 Note firmware for me? Since the K3 also has Lollipop I hope that your SafeCecter would serve well on my Z2 too.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C - Any Custom Roms Available?

Hi Guys,
Sorry I'm an absolute newbie on forums so if I'm doing anything wrong please correct me :angel:
I have bought the Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C last weekend and I really like the tablet but the bloatware on it is absolutely killing me :crying: and my RAM. I was wondering if there is any way to get a clean version of the ASUS stock firmware or any clean custom rom for this device. I can't seem to find any dev working on this. The stock rom isn't bad but it feels like all the unused apps are slowing the tablet which is a shame as it is a good cheap tablet which can do much more.
THanks!
Niels
You need root your Z380C and unintall all bloatware.

This is the second post asking about root that you provided this particular link to and touted it as a resolution to the problem. Do you own a z380c and/or have you personally tried the method outlined in the page you have linked or did you simply google this answer?
That page just lists garbage software that's in Russian and Chinese that requires you to do surveys to download (i.e. scam software) and neither of those programs are able to root the z380. The first clue this page is crap is that the screenshots are for different devices! This is NOT an answer to the question asked.
OP: I'm looking for an answer too, if I find it, I will post it here. Good luck!
Yes I have z380c and now I know my links are bad (I used only google) I am sorry. I think here will be solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
I read about the temp rooting and untill now all have failed with me. I think we will have to wait untill the locked bootloader gets cracked or bypassed. I would love to see the new CM 13 on my zenpad. Just installed it on my note 3 lte.
I am afraid z380c is not very dilated. For CM is not interesting. But who knows.
Any good news?

This ROM is for the Qualcomm version of the tablet, not Intel as the OP requested and will not work.
This method worked for me, remember to rename the downloaded file "root-v2-z380c.img" to "root.img" (without the quotes) before the command "fastboot boot root.img"
good luck

Zenpad 8.0 Z380C (P022) Custom ROM or help with building a custom ROM ??
I'm also searching for a custom Rom for Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380C (P022).
As I'm not a software-expert I was not able to build a custom ROM for myself, but I'm still trying/fighting. Downloaded the Kernel source from Asus, still errors when trying to make the kernel. And afterwards?
Anyone here who have experience with these things and can help me?
Reason: Bluetooth "bug" (or however you name it) in Android 5, therefore a big wish to go for Android 6 or 7. Makes no sense to scrap the tablet and buy a new one. And I'm still thinking the performance could be way better when disabling/deleting all the stuff you don't need on this device (bloatware is already removed). Maybe I'm wrong...
Zenpad is rootet.

I've managed to root it too!
Which apps can you safely remove?
I'm using Uninstall Master, but if you have a better alternative, let me know.
I've read people using Xposed to get more control (to remove ZenUI), but also people who bricked their devices with it.

Asus SuperNote
Google Fotos

Afterwards i deleted ome of these folders with the Root Browser.
But as you can see in my post, I'm not satisfied, especially because Bluetooth. And I want to setup a totally clean Android and install all for myself.

It seems Busybox is installed, since I installed Titanium Backup from the Play-store (showing BusyBox 1.19.4-Titanium from app).
Perhaps it's more easy to show what can be disabled or removed, using screenshots.
Take note: I don't use the whole photos or camera stuff, since the camera of this device is crappy.
I use my device for browsing, also speaking to Google to search + Youtube + Deezer for music. That would be all.
I'll start with mine, perhaps you can download the zenpad_apps_all.png and edit it, putting a red X-mark on top of the ones you have disabled/removed.
I've deleted Kindle, Amazon, Zinio, Clean Master, Supernote, Google Maps, and some others, that are obvious to remove.

5. Select your uboot and recovery.img click on the highlighted, it will open the file picker.
6. Turn off your phone, plug in usb cable in the computer.
7. Click the download button in flashtool, plug the usb cable.
8. Wait for it to say ok.
DONE!
To enter recovery:
1. Turn phone off.
2. Hold power and volume down
3. When screen turns on, let go of the buttons and quickly hold them again.
4. A menu should appear about factory reset. Don't worry, it won't since the recovery is custom.
5. Select yes using volume keys, you'll need to do it two times.
6. Voila!
To root stock 6.0, download this and place files in flashtool like in the guide above, just pick the files and flash. (recovery.emmc.win = recovery; logo.emmc.win = logo etc.) afterwards you can go ahead and get a magisk zip and flash it (it needs to be modified to be able to patch our device, thanks to the people @ 4pda for being so helpful) here

Which applications are these? I think that some applications can use only English language.

forget my last question (kinda stupid). i have a problem if you guys could help me would be great. after flashing everything succesfully on the phone, wich is a spirit H420, under phone info now i get H422. it wouldn't be a problem if only i could flash the marshmallow kdz meant for the H420, but the installation process via LGUP doesn't even start. i've seen interesting stuff on 4pda, maybe i could find H420 lollipop stock there? to start from scratch before updating?
can anyone help me to revert the phone info?

In my case, I tried to upgrade my H420 from LP to MM via lg Mobile support tool or lg pc suite, but neither does the trick, constantly getting error. I have the MM .kdz file that is named as "H42020C_00_0530" but I tried to flash it through lg flashtool 2014, this one in vain too. What I should do to get Marshmallow? Thanks!

apparently marshmallow can't be flashed using flashtool 2014, in 4pda there's a link to this video. the video is in russian, but to put it simply: go to lg site of your country, go to support, find your device, download drivers and "LG support tool" wich is a new version of the 2014 flash tool, install both of them, insert the phone turned on because the software needs to recognise the model of the phone. it will find the upgrade, "the phone may reboot, do not disconnect etc.", sadly it will go through the process of downloading the update from the internet, so no use of our kdz.
i've managed to get untill "upgrade available" step using a mobile connection, but since the firewall of my university is filtered (and beside the weight of the file, my phone would reboot, so no tethering) i can't update now. as soon as i get to a private connection i'll try. let me know if you succeed.

No way with lg support tool, it didn't pass over the download of the firmware, just give error. I resolved following (by google translate) this: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=686154&st=2500#entry50284916, then the green colored link Прошивка android 6.0 с нуля через LG Flashtool, finally download the attachment named H422, about 1,1 Gb. But the guide assumes that you utilize a firmware with .dz extension, not .kdz...We need an extractor/converter, just get this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3136613&stc=1&d=1422375946.
Then, if you have, like me, downloaded the v20c MM stock firmware from a site like this: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=190, just extract the two files needed to flash our H420: "LGUPc.dll" and "H42020c00.dz". I hope I've explained myself well or almost....:silly:
If needed, just ask. I'm pretty happy with my solution.:victory:

DONE! thanks mate! owe you one
a clarification to anyone who might come here: the 2013 version of lg flash tool, wich is required for this guide is contained in the H422.rar of the russian guide. it took me a couple of minutes to understand. also i didn't understand the part of the green link, but i managed to update anyway, so i think your advice is pretty clear.
i'm not sure if this kind of update was needed for my device (didn't try upgrade tool), but since it was succesfull for you, i already posses the .kdz and i'm on a limited connection, i decided to give it a try...and SUCCESS!
already like marshmallow, hope memory leak doesn't affect our devices, and can't wait for root!
