Wow! Being here as a first time pixel user, I'm not used to the fact that a new android version comes out and I'm immediately able to install it on my device. So just wow...! ???

My first on time android upgrade. This is the reason I bought a pixel. It's awesome.

I just tried hitting the check for updates button like 20 times since it was announced.. nothing came through. I had a brainstorm and noticed that everyone that posted up screenshots had their phones plugged. I gave it shot, hit the check for updates button and bam.. downloading the OTA now. Perhaps this may help if anyone is not getting and not understanding why, plug your phone in and check again!

Just got the ota ...1173 mb

I got the ota. I'm stock rooted on elemetalX. What will happen if I accept OTA? I usually do system image but I'm at work and don't have my home computer. Will I just lose root?

I received the ota but sized at 48mb..? Is that wrong??

Great to hear Official 9 Pie! Let's flash some Pie dessert!!

As the title says, Google has just posted new factory images for our nexus 9.

The changelog is huge. Most fixes are in ART and frameworks but there are still some nexus 9 specific changes.
Have fun flashing

Did you even read the linked articles? At the bottom it had the link to the actual change log:
http://www.androidpolice.com/androi....1_r4-to-android-5.1.1_r5-AOSP-changelog.html
So far so good. Haven't really noticed any changes but it's running pretty snappy, then again... It usually does for awhile after a clean slate.

Huh the N9 never got the r5 changes??
Most if not all are under the hood bug fixes by all accounts. All works fine, dare I say it, but battery life seems a little better as well. The changelog is posted in a reply post if you really need to read everything Google have done.
Is there a new kernel in this build or is it the same as LMY48B? If there is a new kernel has anyone released a stock version without encryption enabled? I tried searching the forums but I couldn't find anything. TIA.

There is a new kernel, but the previous one (LMY47X) still works. Not sure of the differences, but here's an unencrypted one that I made. Using it on my N9 now.

TWRP doesn't work consistently, but Chainfire has a fix if you have a computer with adb handy, I'll try and find a link.
EDIT: Here you go, it's under the "manual TWRP instructions" in this post.
In other news, I have SuperSU v2.82-SR1 from Chainfire working just fine on DP4.

Obligatory will the bolt get Android 8 update

Any thoughts or info?
Sent from my 2PYB2 using Tapatalk
HTC's "Official" stance has pretty much always been that when they release a new device, that device will continue to receive updates for a period of 2 years; after the 2 years is up, it will no longer receive software updates, unless it happens to be something like a major hot-fix.... Being that the Bolt was just released in November of 2016, I think it's pretty safe to say we'll be seeing Android O / 8 .
As a matter of fact, the HTC Bolt was actually one of the very 1st devices to be released on the market running Android Nougat/7.0, if not THE 1st, other than the Pixel... I got mine the very day it was available at my sprint store, and from what I remember, the Pixel was barely available at that point, if AT ALL...

T-Mobile to Global (USA) Firmware8t+ 5G

I just got my unlock stuff from OnePlus and I know there is a thread on here for converting but from what I see it is to go to EU firmware and has some other steps I assume that are for rooting. Reason being is that T-Mobile lags hella hard on their updates. OnePlus, on the other hand, is pretty quick on releasing their updates. Conveting your phone to global means that we can update our phones as soon as oxygen updater gets the updates.

What process did you use? Can you just flash via recovery like previous models? Is the EU firmware missing anything the US phones would have?

T-mobile bloatware actually I prefer the t-mobile roms because of the nice features but screenshot button is missing. I'll post how I flashed in a separate topic

Thanks. Hopefully there is an easier way to flash other than doing all the payload stuff.

use the 3 finger gesture, as in swipe down to take a screen shot. It's in the button and gestures menu.

Hey there,
My approach was quite involved considering all the patchwork provided by this thread.
For the shortest explanation, please see the OP. I'm not at home right now.
Thanks.

Yeah that's the thread I saw. Just confused about all the payload extraction and stuff what is that about? Don't remember it being that involved before.

The payload extraction gives you the files to flash using fastbootd, I'm sure if someone had access to a file hosting site they could just host the files already extracted into a downloadable zip file.

Ohhh ok sorry I get it now. The payload is to get the files all together to flash not extracting something from the phone itself.

Global is worthless. No local upgrade and OTAs won't work if you modify system files. There's no way to get a clean set of fastboot files since OnePlus isn't publishing the firmware.
Convert to EU and don't question it. The modem works perfectly.

I'm very surprised OnePlus didn't release the international version yet
