[Poll] Pixel 2 walleye (non XL) - panorama mode points blurry/out of focus results - Google Pixel 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello folks!
My device is also affected. Therefor I want to know who else.
I reported this issue to Google support. They are willing to replace my device.
Before I really do that, I want to know if a pixel 2 (walleye) owner doesn't have the problem.
My device has no other problems.
I don't want to risk getting a new device from Google that has all the problems mentioned in various forums, such as buzzing microphone...
I am really scared of that.
If you vote "no" and have a pixel 2 "walleye" (none XL), I ask for a proof photo taken in panorama mode.
I am looking forward to an active participation.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers,
Mike

DJI GO app problem

Hi guys,
For those who do not use this app - it is used with DJI company drones. I have Phantom 3 standard version.
When drone broadcast live video view to my phone I see it all messy with purple and green lines (see picture attached).
In photo mode it happen only when I set 16:9 aspect ratio. It works well on 4:3.
Video recording mode is only in 16:9 so I always see this messy view. As far as I understand, my cell phone does not support 16:9 aspect ratio.
Tried to question DJI support, but they told me this is problem with my galaxy SIII I9300.
Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem? Would custom rom or kernel help with it? Or maybe there is a fix ?
I use stock 4.3 android.
Sorry for my bad English,
and thanks in advance.

Hello, As DJI updates there GO app more devices start to become less compatible, This issue is also known to happen when aircraft and app firmware are mismatched. They have a list of devices i just copied this from DJI's website
Android Version v2.8.0.
Requires Android 4.1.2 or later.Compatible with Samsung tabs 705c, Samsung S6, Samsung S5, Samsung NOTE4, Samsung NOTE3, Google Nexus 9, Google Nexus 7 II, Ascend Mate7, Huawei P8 Max, Huawei Mate 8, Nubia Z7 mini, Sony Xperia Z3, MI 3, MI PAD, Smartisan T1.
from my experience you can cnange ROMS on some devices and have this work, My experience was it made the the app run way better but this is not always the case, for instance I just loaded a fresh new CM 13 Rom on my Droid razr XT912, the Rom is super clean of bloatware and is supper fast, I enabled USB debugging but when I connect the RC (DJI remote controller) to the Phone. I don't get the USB debugging authorization box so in my case the ROM upgrade did not help I tried two versions of the ROM something is not right with the That version of the ROM on that specific device, I was able to load (CM 12 on an HP 21 Slate tablet) and have had really good luck with it. I say try it and if it don't work go back back stock. I'm asking around because I want this issue Fixed :silly:

OnePlus 3T vs Xiaomi Mi5s

Hi All,
I've bought both the Xiaomi Mi5s (miui 8 global) and the OnePlus 3T (oxygen OS 4.03 Android 7) and am trialling both for a few before I send the loser (if you could possibly call one of these great phones a loser) back. I'm finding it very difficult to chose.
Either phone is a huge upgrade from my previous and very safe and stable iPhone 5s. I hope you can help me resolve my conundrum.
My thoughts so far on the comparison:
Software and interfaces:
Both phones have great software but for me the xiaomi swings it on being more customisable in terms of the interface, being able to easily change themes. As nice as changing themes is however, a lot of the themes are like those Kodi skins with weird phrases like "seize the moment" plastered on the home screen. It is a nice to have though and some of them have added some clever navigation features for app sidetray access.
It has a couple of other features that are nice to haves like 'force touch' and recording calls as a standard option but both of these features I would rarely use and can live without. Miuis second space feature is a bit surplus to requirements considering fingerprint locking is all you need for security I'm not sure why I'd need to hide apps etc on another part of the phone, I also found it a bit slow to switch spaces.
Hardware:
Here the OnePlus wins, more ram more speed, not that noticeable in day to day operations but the fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi has been disappointing, even after rescanning my thumb a couple of times it still either fails to unlock or takes a long time to unlock. The OnePlus 3T is super quick on the fingerprint unlock like the speed of light and very reliable for me. Screen sizes on both are nice, I prefer the larger OnePlus though. I would also say the microphone sensitivity on the OnePlus 3T is better in picking up the "OK google" commands. Both seem to be quite quiet on phone calls with the earphones plugged in, if you make regular conference calls this is quite annoying and there are lots of complaints on the xiaomi forums regarding this for the global rom.
Camera:
This is where the big let down is on the 3T and probably the reason I am still hanging on to the xiaomi . Despite impressive specs on paper I've found shots low in detail compared to the Xiaomi and poor when shooting moving objects. Low light performance is not great on both but overall I feel the Xiaomi Mi5s is the better camera. Video recording I can't comment, both seem to very similar. I'm not a huge photographer and don't post lots of pictures to social media so maybe I can live without it. I'm hoping something can be done with the OP3T camera to resolve some of the above issues.
Athetics and buttons etc:
I like the feel of the OP3T better but the Xiaomi is easier to hold on accounts of is size.
Anyway I hope you can help me with some thoughts here, would love to keep both but I ain't that rich, ideally I'd merge the two but it just can't happen.
No offense but starting your review (and the software aspect) talking about themes is ..... meh.

OK so maybe you could suggest what's more important for you personally? Am I too hung up on the themes aspect?
Xiaomi Mi5s has a rear camera sensor with 1.55 um pixels (IMX 378 - As in the G Pixel), yet low light performance is not great? How come?
"Despite impressive camera specs on paper for 3T" - The Mi5S has more impressive specs on paper.
Because sensor is not everything my friend

I want an unlocked bootloader flagship with a good camera - is this it?

I have a Note 3 through AT&T which I pre-ordered, I believe four years ago this fall. The bootloader is locked and the phone only ever received one OS update before being dumped, solely for the purpose of convincing people they need to upgrade. The OS is terribly outdated, but I do all I want thanks to the early root exploit and Xposed--all I want except take good photos in suboptimal lighting conditions. I would, however, greatly appreciate the peace of mind offered by having the latest OS version (including security fixes) my hardware can cope with (I am acutely aware the Note 3's hardware is perfectly sufficient for running the very latest version of Android I am locked out of by my evil service provider).
I've noticed none of the high-end phones offered by AT&T even have root exploits available at the moment. I will never own a phone I am not the administrator of. I'm being forced, for the first time, to buy a generic unlocked phone.
I want a flagship phone (meaning at least 6GB RAM) I can use with root access for many years, updating along the way, with a good camera and a notification LED. I considered the OnePlus 5, but apparently its camera is lackluster. I NEED to be able to take high quality cat pictures to share with people who do not care. It is in my blood.
Is a non-contract S8 my obvious top contender? Are there others I should consider?
Or am I presuming too much in thinking that a generic S8 does indeed come with an unlocked bootloader and possible root access?
Huawei p10 pro. Best camera and speed system.
2. Done?

The majority of Custom Rom support here in theis Forum is for the european S8 (Exynos Variant) ONLY! The European version is missing frequencies for optimal use in the USA. Since your carrier is AT&T I´m assuming that you live in the US. So I wouldn´t recommend the S8 to you.
Since you are comming from a Galaxy Note and ask for a good Camera, I think these Phones could fit your needs:
Google Pixel XL: Great Camera, constant official Updates and good Custom Rom support. Relativly expensive and no SD-Card support. The Pixel 2 XL will be realesed next month, so price will drop a bit. Or just get the new one
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl
Huawei P10 Plus: Great Camera, fairly good official Updates, support for Custom Roms is picking up. Cheaper
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus
Huawei Mate 10: Everything P10 Plus offers, but bigger and better and more expensive. Will be released next month.
Notable Mentions: HTC U11 and Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ Premium
Thanks so much, I'll check out all of those.
Good camera? Get a pixel or wait for Pixel 2. SG8 has a poor camera (in comparison)
The S8 definitely has a good "single" camera for today's standards, it's marginally improved compared to the last years' S7.
What's worth mentioning is that if you pull the trigger on an unlockable S8 you will be able to mod it so you can increase the image and video quality to even higher margins - QHD @ 60fps, HDR 4K filming, increased bitrates and so forth.

Trying to switch to a Oneplus 5/5T. Need help and suggestions

Hello Oneplus Users!
I own a Huawei p9 lite 2016. I got some good deals with oneplus 5/5T.
I want some suggestions and answers. Is it worth to get either a Oneplus 5/5T?
If yes, which one and i want an opinion if you own one of these devices (valid your point)
If not, valid your point as well.

Hello, please have a look to those real life reviews https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/review and also this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277
The difference between those two are obviously the design. You should decide what design you want. Otherwise they are nearly identical from technical specs(screen differs for sure).
Pro oneplus 5:
- better battery life
- tele photo camera (2x lossless zoom)
- front fingerprint sensor (for me is a big plus!)
- slightly smaller body.
I definitely choose op5 over op5t.

share your pics taken with op 6t

Hi all, i am interested in this phone but also looking at pixel 3 right now using 2 xl please share pics taken with op and help me decide
I used the Google camera port for the oneplus 6 on my 6t. Biggest difference I can see is in the portrait mode. No real good pictures to upload yet.
