Update and fingerprint mess - Honor 8 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi, I am the owner of a Huawei Gr3 2017 (model PRA-LA1 C185) working under Android 8 Oreo (official release from Huawei).
Recently the firmware received a small update (less than 400 mb) and since then the fingerprint doesn’t work anymore, the fingerprint option even disappeared from the security settings when it was here before the update. I know the problem is coming from this update and an API problem not hardware, now I want to revert and reinstall a previous firmware where the fingerprint works. I tried many versions with the dload method but the installation always fails at 5%. My question is how to solve this problem and what firmware shall I install making sure the process will reach the 100% and that my fingerprint sensor will respond again. Thank you for your answers.

Install firmware finder and adjust setting to view last firmware
If it can't find nougat update , you can unlock bootloader and update via twrp method

I found the b563 fw but when i tried to update it it stopped at 1 % and the phone rebooted. What can cause the problem ?
Keep checking! Older firmwares have some small optimization to be done. So these guys r releasing slowly

On the firmware finder app, disable OTA, and you'll see that the ones that say FULL/OTA will disappear,
and the only FULL that shows up are the older (EMUI 4x) ones. At least that's what happens on
mine. L29C185B321
I just manage to update to b563 by first flash b211 using the dload method, and then i could update to b563 with firmware finder . Thanks for the help everybody !

Problem after update to Nougat

Hi,
My build number is VNS-L21C432B160 then receive update to B370 (1.94 GB) . After update, all is normal except for the camera. Always freeze then force close and repeat again. I also receive update to B380 (310 MB) and have the same problem. So I rollback to B160 again
Before receive update, I try to update via firmware finder to B370 (1.94 GB). All have the same problem with the camera.
Can anyone help me? Nougat have better performance, and I like it
I have a weird lag with camera on start. It kinda freezes for 2-3 seconds. And then goes back to normal. Nothing dramatic, but it freaks me out when I need to shoot a quick picture.
My phone keep doing it, even after factory reset

Hello

For in France a reseller, sells the phone p9 lite G9 LITE VNS-DL00 MODIFY IN VNS-L21C432B160,
Then after update b370, camera force close

How to revert to C128?

Hi
I bought an M3 Wifi US version BTV-W09C128, which was recently upgraded via OTA to Nougat B353.
I used the rollback files on a European Huawei site
https://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/tablets/mediapad-m3-8/
to downgrade to Marshmallow BTV-W09C100B006 to regain 5 GHz Wifi, and then found it was not possible to upgrade to Nougat.
I opened the calculator in landscape mode and enter () () 2,846,579 () () =
finding
Vendor Country Info (same as oeminfo?) shows
Vendor: hw
Country: usa
This seems like the reason why my M3 cannot do OTA updates now.
Does anyone know if there are files available on a Huawei or other site to enable me to revert the M3 to US C128?
Thanks in advance!
Hello Sam,
I did the same updates on same type of device. You can try firmware finder to download the update files. I was not able to use this, I am trying for 2 days to get back to Nougat, tried chinese, european and US versions from US. I also had some hard times getting back to android 6, after different firmware updates I got stuck on NRD90M test-keys firmware. Now I am back to android 6 using the rollback and firmware from huawey italian site but I'm not sure why it worked on 10+ try...
If you find a way please let all of us know the flow
Thank you,
Mircea
I did the same thing. I don't think there is a full stock rom for C128 out there that you can flash it back. I have done lots of search on the internet already. However, I like to have 5Ghz enabled and I don't like EMUI 5.

Update from b130 to b385

Hello everyone,
My phone is stuck on C530B130 and i was wondering if i needed to update to B370 before updating to B385 ?
Also since i can't update and am still under warranty, do you think huawei will help me with updating my phone ?
Thanks
I hope Huawei service will help or give you information about the upgrade to nougat.
In any case, B370 should be for dual sim, B385 for single sim.
So if you decide to do it yourself keep this information in mind ...
P.S .: Huawei has closed the site for the bootloader unlock code, so the official upgrade should be better ..
All the best
Thanks a lot for your response. I would have tried to install b385 because Firmware finder said my device is compatible. The problem is that b370 is no longer online on huawei website. Also, when trying to find update, my phone say it is up to date. I emailed them but i don't expect a response before the end of my warrarty :/

No DLOAD, since there is no FullOTA-MF-PV (must be PV) on Firmware Finder
I was also waiting with no success. Then I put a SIM card and received b275 by OTA in two days
Well we'll have to wait, I don't want to brick my device again
what region is your device from? I'm from the middle east region and my device recieved it about 15 days ago.
Muy device is C605
Latinoamérica
it will come eventually for your device. they send it based on your device's imei.
I hope so, although I have read of people that the equipment stagnates in some version, or simply Huawei in some markets never releases the update
