Google Assistant grayed out - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Google was working fine till yesterday but from today onward the google assistant is totally broken. I checked the setting and saw the setting under voice is grayed out. Tried every method like clearing the google app cache, its data and also uninstalling its updates but still the problem persist. Phone is completely stock (not rooted).

Edit: Seems problem of Google app. Play store reviews with same problem...

[Q] Lost hotword detection, can't even run setup

I've been using the OK Google hotword detection since I've installed the rooted 4.4.2 leaked rom and everything has been fine for a month or so. Just recently it completely stopped working, voice search now only works if I hit the microphone button. Even if I uninstall Google Search and reinstall it and try to run the setup again it won't work. When it asks me to train my voice and say "OK google" three times it won't pick up anything.
So this all started when I woke up one morning and my alarm clock Sleep Genius had an error and stopped working, and when I forced closed it and hit the home button I had to pick the launcher again (I've been using Apex) . So I picked Apex again and noticed my background was different than what I had before. Don't know if that has to do with anything but that's when I noticed hotword detection stopped working. I uninstalled both apps to see if that would work and still nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.
Silly question: have you restarted the phone? You didn't state that in your post.
Also, have you tried clearing cache/dalvik?
Okay so I tried wiping the caches and that didn't do anything. I started digging a bit more into this (searched Google and about 15 pages in found this) - disabling apps that are turned on under the Accessibility menu. Turned off Music Boss, Pebble watch and Lightflow. Sure enough started working again!
Will this effect how any of these apps work? I tested out my pebble and it still got a notification so everything seems fine so far.
Thanks for the help though!

how do you get past this?

Had play store issues all day yesterday, server error messages, you cannot update Google play services without updating Google play services. Tried everything, deleted cache, data from play store and Google services. Reinstalled play store and services. No joy. Nothing worked. Finally removed Google accounts to hope it would let me sign back in. Hope, now permanently stuck on checking info. How do you get this to work to enable your Google account set up? Many thanks
I have no idea, but maybe you can flash Gapps?
Play store is broken, you wait it out until google fixes it. I have had luck running updates when I plug my phone into the stock wall charger. It doesn't work with pluging into a computer to charge only the stock wall charger.
How can Google play be broken if it's only happening with the axon 7? I've just Googled the issue and only axon 7 users are having this issue

Is the connected to the waiting error im seeing on other threads. I've done everything except a factory reset. Would this clear it do you think? Even installed latest version of play store yesterday. Still no joy.

Randomly Restarted & Erased My Information.

I was using my AT&T Galaxy S8 and it just randomly rebooted. When it turned back on, all of my data was gone. I tried to log into the phone, but I cannot set up my Google account. I keep getting an error saying that "Google Play Services has stopped" every time I try to sign in to my Google account on the device. I eventually got in to my phone, but all apps requiring access to Play Services don't work. Currently, I am only able to call, text, use the clock app, and change settings.
I have no clue what is going on or how to fix the problem. I have tried factory resetting again, restarting the phone, clearing the Google Play Services cache, and side-loading Google Play Services, but nothing seems to be working.
If you have any suggestions, please help me out.
Thanks!

Multiple problems-Notifications delayed, Play Store downloads stuck, Some apps broken

Hi, I have a Galaxy S10+ on Verizon in the USA.
Having a few major problems that I just can't figure out:
1. When I try to download apps from the Play store, the download gets to 99 or 100% but never completes the installation. The fix is to go into settings/apps/show system apps/download manager and "force stop." Then the installation will complete.
2. Some apps don't work correctly. For example the CBS Radio News app starts streaming audio, then stops a few seconds later. And the ParKing app sometimes records my location upon disconnection from my car's bluetooth, and sometimes it doesn't.
3. Notifications from all apps are totally unreliable. Sometimes they'll come right away. Sometimes not for hours, and sometimes all at once. And sometimes when tapping on a notification it will bring you into the app. while sometimes it will do nothing.
WHAT I TRIED:
Tried rebooting, clearing data and cache on problem apps.
Cleared data and cache on "Google", Google Play Store and google play services.
Cleared phone's cache partition.
Uninstalled and reinstalled broken apps.
I THOUGHT I FOUND THE SOLUTION:
All these problems went away a month or so ago when I logged out of my google account on the phone. Iogged back in and it all worked great! I thought the problem was solved, but now it's all happening again. Logged of the the google account and back in, but it's still broken this time.
AND:
I had similar problems with my Galaxy S7, and thought the new phone would fix these problems! Is it possible there's something wrong with my google account? How could I have the same problems on both phones?
I haven't yet tried a factory reboot on the S10+, but I did do it on the S7, and after working for a while, the problems came back.
Additional info:
Mobile data and wifi have strong signals.
No custom ROMs, not rooted or anything, just stock the way it came. Only downloaded apps from Play Store. Nothing sideloaded.
All battery optimization is turned off. Power mode set to "high performance."
I've looked everywhere for a solution and have come here to the ultimate experts. You're my last hope!
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Google assistant stops responding unless I restart

Guys I need help here . My Google assistant stops working after a while regardless of which region firmware I change to. It requires a restart to make it work proper and will work for a while till it will stop responding whether screen off or on.
I've tried everything and guessing it might have something to do with always on display settings but I'm not sure. Permissions , voice match settings , retrain , delete , cache , etc have all been tested but nothing restores functionality until I restart the phone.
I've got the exact same problem.
Further tests and I have found the bug to be related to asking Google assistant to make calls. I have used it stable for 3 days while not asking assistant to make calls. However if asked two or three times to call , Google assistant will refuse to listen to voice command unless the phone is restarted. Cache uninstall older version etc nothing helps. Something has to do with the dialer app as it denies mic permission to assistant.
same problem here. also it keeps saying my google play services need updating.. play store show uninstall button. endless loop. you cant uninstall it. and its already updated.
