Slidingsound Here

I found out how to customize the slidingsound and I have changed it to the transformers transforming sounds.
Just go to your registry
\HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\SlidingSound\
Copy any of the numbered folders and rename it to the next number. Then adjust the values to match the file names and what you want to call it.
Here are the files you will need

someone already posted this, with the same exact sounds.
is there any way of doing it on the phone alone?

how to tranfer the files to phone...sorrie new at this...i saw the folders named 0-2. now im confuse how to do the next step.thanx

Recover >13.5MB

Been doing this since the very first xda.
I'm sure lots of people do the same but I thought I wanted to share with the new members this trick.
Unzip the attached file and see if you need any of them and if you do remove or do not overwrite those original files.
Using other than the file explorer say Resco or Total look for the original files inside the Windows folder and rename the file extensions to say ".old".
Once you have renamed the ones you do not want or need overwrite with the files I have provided.
After that delete the ones you changed to for example ".old" extension.
Reset and you would have recovered more than 14,178,834 bytes.
thanks a lot, was looking for smth like this!

HTC HD2 own sms tone, and random screens on desktop.

I had my own call tone to sms and mail, but when my phone restarted (I had to because it needed it, it was so slow) everything was gone on my phone. I can't remember where I have to copy my sound files, so the phone can get them and use them in sms and mail tones. I hope someone out here can help me. I can't remeber where I had them.
I wonder also In Windows 7 can the backround on the desktop switch every 5. minutes if I want, is this possible in htc hd2 I have many backgrounds I want to use.
When you say 'restarted' it, you mean you wiped the phone back to factory default?
Yes I have.
Sorry I missread your first question. You can put them in Device\Windows\Rings and it will work like a charm.
*Edit* Or Device\My Documents\My Ringtones.

You will need to insert your custom ringtones into these folders. The second may well be a hidden folder, I use Resco Explorer so I see all hidden files and folders.
Resco file explorer can't find these files in rings folder. How can I copy these files in it? My computer can't find any folder called windows, but resco explorer on my phone, it finds windows folder.

Open Resco File Explorer go to menu, options, general and then the browser tab, uncheck all of the boxes and you will see all hidden files and folders.
I got it now, I used file explorer. I Marked the files, got in to Send To, Add/Delete and made a new folder with name Rings and the files have now being copyed in there. Now it's working. Thank you

1. On your computer, open Notepad or any other text editor
2. Save the blank file as “.nomedia”
Make sure that the Save as type is set as “All Files” instead of “Text documents”
3. Copy that file to the folder on your SD card containing audio files you don’t want to show up.
(Example: If you want to block CoPilot sound files from coming up, place the .nomedia file in the sdcard/copilot folder)
4. Reboot your phone and the files should no longer be viewable

absolutely brilliant, I've been looking for this answer for ages!
However, there is one thing it doesn't stop for me: I have a folder called Android/cache which is autocreated on reboot (I'm assuming), and my .nomedia file get's deleted with each reboot from that folder. This folder holds all the notifications/ringtones etc that come from HTC Hub. Anyone else experiencing this? Obviously this only really applies to the Desire HD builds.
It works also with graphic files. Great!!!
Now does that .nomedia file need to be placed in the particular folder the image is in or does it work by plaing in the parent folder. I ask because my album art shows up in the gallery and I have roughly 1000 songs, it would be way too much to have to place in each song folder lol

yeah, it needs to be in every folder you want to "hide" it doesn't affect child folders.

Put one in the Android/root/cache folder, and it'll get copied back on reboot.
Dang, is there an option to copy one file to all folders? lol

I had that idea already lol, for some reason after a reboot tho the file disappears and the cache folder get's emptied then refilled with my notifications but no .nomedia (like a complete refresh but without the file I put in). not a major problem just a bit annoying.
Worked like a charm. Thanks Much Sk0o.

[Q] .nomedia not working new pics show in gallery

Hey all,
I have got some older folders with pictures stored on my ext sd.
I dont want these folders/pictures to show in the gallery.
In every folder is a .nomedia file and this used to work on my S4, the picturen wernt showing in the gallery.
Now on the note the excisting pictures in the folders also don't show in the gallery.
But whenever i add a new picture to one of the folders containing a .nomedia file only those new pictures do show and i dont want that.
When i used to add a picture on the S4 it didnt show but now on the note every new picture does show.
How can i fix this?
I dont want the pictures i move to be scanned by the gallery.
Cheers !
Have you tried copying the files to another directory using my files (stock Samsung file explorer)? Had the same problem and renaming them or copying them helped in my case
Try clearing gallery cache, also delete .thumbnails folder
You shouldn't need to use .nomedia file. If you want to hide folder rename that folder to start with "." so you can't see anything from that folder in gallery
If you want to hide one single picture, rename that file to start with period.
